How to choose high school research paper topics

There are many concerns for a high school student to realize writing a term paper. Usually, this will start with even the simplest of tasks, selecting high school research paper topics. Today, I will give you some pointers that can help you in choosing the subject for writing.

First of all, you need to have certain familiarity with the topic that you are going to buy essays writing. If you have stock knowledge about the subject, it would be much easier to discuss it. This will therefore save you time and effort in researching instead of looking for more resource materials. Good research paper topics are the ones that you can actually support.

Second, a high school research paper topic must be selected if you think it is important. There are so many subjects out there and it seems that all of them are great topic interests. In this case, choose the one that you think will give greater benefits to you and to your readers.

Third, do not merely choose a high school research paper topic just because it is popular. Try to measure the feasibility of doing research for it. Feasibility means that you can actually do the research experiments and you can find many resources to support your claims. Identify the research paper format parts that will support your researching based on the topic.

Lastly, a high school research paper topic must have many supporting materials to build your arguments. Materials like books, journals, publications and internet contents must be sufficient to let you realize the results without having to pressure yourself to conduct experiments of on your own.

Scenario: An independent event planner designed an event for a family business that over the years has grown to include 100 managers in 23 states. The family executives wanted to create a sales and customer service conference over 3 days to retrain existing sales staff. All flights and hotel rooms were arranged through the company’s travel agency, and the conference was held at a conference center. There were 500 participants flown into Claremont, California, on a Sunday evening in August, along with their spouses or partners. Monday at 7:30 a.m., breakfast was followed by back-to-back training sessions with gurus in the field of retail sales and customer service. At noon, there was a break for lunch (followed by dinner at least two of the nights). The Human Resources (HR) department handled the actual training sessions. The spouses or partners were engaged at the conference center each morning and afternoon with their choice of golf, tennis, swimming at the pool, or frequenting the on-site spa. The event planner was in charge of any local transportation, setting up the conference facility and training session operations, security and safety, banquet operations, and companion events for spouses and partners.

After lunch on the first day, some of the participants got news via the Internet that Claremont, California, would possibly be evacuated due to wildfires. The event planner was not paying any attention to the news or weather. The event continued, but as attendees went looking for coffee and water in the later part of the afternoon, they heard more from the coffee vendor in the lobby and the bellboys. The fires were such that by 7:00 p.m., the city would be forcing residents to evacuate. Smoke started appearing outside conference room windows. At about the same time (3:00 p.m.), the event planner was informed of the situation by the venue manager, who urged the planner to inform the guests to evacuate.

The event planner immediately went to his phone to find alternative flights for the attendees through the travel agency. But of course, all flights from Claremont, according to the agency, had been cancelled from 4:00 p.m. onward. When he went to inform the various attendees at the various conference sessions that were in progress, he had only informed 10 sessions on one end of the conference center when he got a call from the other end of the conference center where 15 more sessions were in progress. The CEO was asking what was going on and what information the planner had because people were starting to panic and run out of the sessions.

In the meantime, the dinner chef was calling the event planner asking what to do with all of the fried chicken, cold pasta, green salads, and biscuits readied for the dinner planned that night.

  • Summarize the problem using the 5 W’s (see the Reading area).
  • Based on the conference best practices, what did the event planner neglect to do regarding the event?
  • Based on the reading, the learning activities, and doing some research on the Internet, establish criteria for possible resolution.
  • Propose a plan of action to enact the resolution.
  • Summarize the necessary information that the event planner should have had already prepared to address such a situation, applying the conference operations best practices that should have been used.

Ethical Theories to Apply: Utilitarianism and Universal Ethics

1. Task

You work in the Ethics Department for ABC Company (ABC). Your department is dedicated to advising its employees about their ethical obligations in the corporate setting. You are an internal consultant who provides advice and most importantly, recommendations for action to employees of the firm. All communications you receive in this capacity are confidential.

Luke, an employee of ABC, comes to you with the following scenario and asks for your advice. He wants to fully consider the situation. Your task is to advise and recommend a course of action based on the specified ethical lenses and facts as given. Below are the facts that Luke provides to you. *****

Luke has been asked to work on a project that involves developing land recently purchased by ABC to build an adult entertainment retail store. According to the plan, the land is located on the corner of the neighborhood where Owen, Luke’s brother, lives.

Luke knows that as soon as the plans for the store are made public, property values for the surrounding neighborhood will decrease significantly. ABC plans to publicly announce the project one month from today.

Luke is concerned about his obligations of confidentiality to his company. However, Luke is also very close to Owen, who recently told Luke that he received an offer to sell his house at an “okay” price given the current real estate market. Owen is considering selling but hasn’t made any final decision yet. He wonders if he might get a better offer a few years from now when the real estate market improves.

What is the ethical issue, why is this an issue, and what should Luke do about it? *****

For assignment 2, prepare a memo, setting out your analysis and recommendations, that considers ONLY the following two theories: Utilitarianism and Universal Ethics (i.e., Kant’s categorical imperative)

What does a change ready organization look like?

In this week’s assignment, we review the story of an organization that has become large enough to build a dedicated team of internal change management consultants.
