Developing a Culture of Evidence-Based Practice

As the evidence-based practice skills grow, you may be called upon to share your expertise with others. Evidence-based practice is often conducted with unique outcomes in mind. The evidence-based practice practitioners who share their results can both add to the general body of knowledge and serve as an advocate for the application of Evidence-based practice. This discussion explores the strategies for disseminating EBP within my organization, community, or industry. To disseminate EBP within my organization, the two strategies that I would use are journal clubs and evidence based grand rounds within my clinic. These two strategies provide a smaller setting that will for increased probing and dialogue and provide for an opportunity for increased collaborative connections. This is a way to improve EBP discussions, build relationships, and the EBP in discussion even better (Gallagher-Ford et al., 2011).

To overcome these barriers, one would need the support of both the organization’s management and nurse leaders. This support is important in informing the staff about the importance of the EBP. In addition, specific research and research evidence can help support the EBP to capture the attention of the staff and make them adopt the EBP. Staff and organizational education are also important in supporting the EBP in place and ensuring its success (Melnyk & Fineout-Overholt, 2018).

Leadership Theories in Practice

PLEASE FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS AS INDICATED BELOW:

1). ZERO (0) PLAGIARISM

2). ATLEAST 5 REFERENCES, NO MORE THAN 5 YEARS

3). PLEASE SEE THE FOLLOWING ATTACHED RUBRIC DETAILS.

Thank you.

A walk through the Business section of any bookstore or a quick Internet search on the topic will reveal a seemingly endless supply of writings on leadership. Formal research literature is also teeming with volumes on the subject.

However, your own observation and experiences may suggest these theories are not always so easily found in practice. Not that the potential isn’t there; current evidence suggests that leadership factors such as emotional intelligence and transformational leadership behaviors, for example, can be highly effective for leading nurses and organizations.

Yet, how well are these theories put to practice? In this Discussion, you will examine formal leadership theories. You will compare these theories to behaviors you have observed firsthand and discuss their effectiveness in impacting your organization.

To Prepare:

  • Review the Resources and examine the leadership theories and behaviors introduced.
  • Identify two to three scholarly resources, in addition to this Module’s readings, that evaluate the impact of leadership behaviors in creating healthy work environments.
  • Reflect on the leadership behaviors presented in the three resources that you selected for review.

Write two key insights you had from the scholarly resources you selected. Describe a leader whom you have seen use such behaviors and skills, or a situation where you have seen these behaviors and skills used in practice. Be specific and provide examples. Then, explain to what extent these skills were effective and how their practice impacted the workplace.

8. Estimating Risk and Return

Questions

In a Word document, respond to the following. Number your responses 1–2.

  1. Explain why expected return is considered forward-looking. What challenges arise in using expected return?
  2. Explain how differences in allocations between the risk-free security and the market portfolio can determine the level of market risk.

Use references to support your responses as needed. Be sure to cite all references using correct APA style. Your responses should be free of grammar and spelling errors, demonstrating strong written communication skills.

Problems

In either a Word document or Excel spreadsheet, complete the following problems.

  • You may solve the problems algebraically, or you may use a financial calculator or an Excel spreadsheet.
  • If you choose to solve the problems algebraically, be sure to show your computations.
  • If you use a financial calculator, show your input values.
  • If you use an Excel spreadsheet, show your input values and formulas.
  1. Based on the probability and percentage of return for the three economic states in the table below, compute the expected return.

Economic State       Probability.     Percentage of Return

Fast Growth               0.10                     60

Slow Growth.             0.50.                    30

Recession                  0.40.                  -23

  1. If the risk-free rate is 7 percent and the risk premium is 4 percent, what is the required return?
  2. Suppose that the average annual return on the Standard and Poor’s 500 Index from 1969 to 2005 was 14.8 percent. The average annual T-bill yield during the same period was 5.6 percent. What was the market risk premium during these 10 years?
  3. Conglomco has a beta of 0.32. If the market return is expected to be 12 percent and the risk-free rate is 5 percent, what is Conglomco’s required return? Use the capital asset pricing model (CAPM) to calculate Conglomco’s required return.
  4. Calculate the beta of a portfolio that includes the following stocks:
    • Conglomco stock, which has a beta of 3.9 and comprises 35 percent of the portfolio.
    • Supercorp stock, which has a beta of 1.7 and comprises 25 percent of the portfolio.
    • Megaorg stock, which has a beta of 0.3 and comprises 40 percent of the portfolio.

SITUATIONAL LEADERSHIP RESEARCH PAPER

I attached my paper and have completed 6 out of 10 pages, not including reference, title, and abstract.  I need you to complete the last four pages. To expand this to 10 pages, I am asking for help in the opening paragraph; literature review section to have each reference reviewed properly; findings section could use more information; and discussion section needs to be complete to include limitations of the studies.

The final paper will be at least 10 pages with 10 scholarly articles. This does not include the title page, abstract or the reference page. This week you will submit your final paper in APA format and writing.  The below link has an example of the format for this paper.

https://owl.english.purdue.edu/media/pdf/20090212013008_560.pdf

You must have 10 scholarly articles. Scholarly articles are peer reviewed and can be found via the APU/AMU library.

Research paper will be in APA format, which means that you need to write a Title Page, Abstract Page and References Page separate from the body of the text of the paper. Avoid unsupported statements whenever possible. In many cases, you will write a paragraph of text and insert a citation only once. When you use a direct quote, include the page number of the source, too.

SOC 450: Solutions to Global Issues

  • Week 10 Assignment – Critical Threats to the Global Environment
    Overview
The United Nations has continued to retain you as a consultant for a project that deals with climate and the environment. Most developed countries see the dangers of releasing too much carbon dioxide into the atmosphere and are committed to climate policies that attain a carbon-free future in the next 30 years. They already see the damaging effects that this gas alone is having on the living conditions of crops, wildlife, and humans. As a result, many member states are dissatisfied with the progress of the eight Millennium Development Goals for international development that they established in 2000. The member states see a substantial disconnect between several issues that developed and developing countries believe are priorities. For example, Burundi wants one of the goals to focus on food security, while Austria is adamant that a major global issue should be the negotiation of ceasefires in countries in the midst of civil wars. The UN wants you to work from the list below and prioritize two of the global community’s threats that it deems the most serious to environmental stability.
    Instructions
    Step 1
Select two threats. Listed below are eight issues that the UN feels pose the most significant threats to global security. Some of these apply to the Earth’s 7.7 billion people, while others are limited primarily to developing countries. Regardless of where these threats are concentrated, your job as a consultant is to identify two of them that you consider the most critical to the globe’s population.
    Issue Options

    1. The use of fossil fuels as an energy source.
    2. Globalization.
    3. Insufficient educational opportunities in developing countries.
    4. A lack of access to technology.
    5. Civil war (NOT the U.S. Civil War).
    6. The rise in oceans’ levels.
    7. Covid-19 and the global pandemic.
    8. The dangers of poor countries remaining poor.
    9. Step 2
Write a minimum of an 8 page persuasive paper about your two threats.
Write an introduction paragraph of at least one-half page in length identifying the two threats you have selected and the purpose of the paper. Then, for the two threats you chose:
    10. Identify the factors that make it such a serious risk to the global environment that you would choose to present it to the UN.
    11. Analyze the role that humans have played in aggravating this threat to the Earth’s environment.
    12. Suggest initiatives that the global community can take to mitigate the worst effects of this environmental threat.
    13. Write a conclusion paragraph of at least one-half page in length that summarizes your impressions of these risks for global stability.
    14. Guidelines
    15. This course requires the use of Strayer Writing Standards (SWS). For assistance and information, please refer to the SWS link in the left-hand menu of your course and check with your professor for any additional instructions.
    16. In order to earn full credit, the answers to each of the three questions must be at least two full pages long, making six pages. You must also include the one-half page introduction and one-half page conclusion at the beginning and end of the paper, adding up to one page of content. Finally, you must include a graph or table (see 5, below) that will be at least one page in length. The entire paper will be a minimum of eight pages long.
    17. You must use at least seven credible sources (excluding Wikipedia, dictionaries and encyclopedias) that are appropriate for the subjects under discussion.
    18. You must use only double-spacing and not place extra spacing between paragraphs or section headings.
    19. As part of your answer to any one of the questions, you must include a graph, table or chart using quantifiable data that supports your argument. You need only one graph for the entire assignment, and although you may download this item from the Internet, it may be no longer than one page in length. You must comprehensively explain beneath the graph what the data means. Otherwise, it will be of no use to the reader.
    20. The specific course learning outcome associated with this assignment is as follows:
    • Propose suggestions for mitigation initiatives that address the threats to the stability of the global environment.

Post a description of which types of project management approaches are used by your HSO or an HSO with which you are familiar.

Ryan is a heath care administrator for a large network of hospitals. As its mission, the hospital network seeks to promote health access in underserved communities and to engage in innovative population health management projects to support evidence-based practice. While both tenets of the hospital network’s mission are vast, Ryan is responsible for ensuring that each individual hospital within the network is achieving measurable goals for ongoing performance. In evaluating each hospital individually, Ryan finds that the majority of the hospitals are performing at a superior level in increasing health access in underserved communities. https://bestacademicpapers.xyz/civil-engineering/im-working-on-a-civil-engineering-question-and-need-guidance-to-help-me-study-w/ However, Ryan also finds that the majority of the hospitals are not demonstrating superior performance with ongoing population health management. Ryan has organized a task force to better determine new strategies to balance the two in hopes of moving the hospital network forward in the marketplace.

Health care administrators face many challenges when implementing strategies for and approaches to addressing multiple projects and the scope of health care delivery on a day-to-day basis. In upholding the mission of an HSO, health care administrators must also ensure that each project contributes to effectiveness without hindering or compromising performance. What approaches might health care administrators use to ensure that projects are appropriately managed? How might project management approaches differ among projects that aim to enhance performance for the HSO?

For this Discussion, consider the different types of project management approaches introduced in the Learning Resources for this week. https://academicessays.xyz/computer-science-homework-help/who-is-your-target-audiencewhat-is-their-age-demographicwhat-is-their-averag/ Then, reflect on how you might implement these project management approaches as a current or future health care administrator. Consider how different project management approaches are more appropriate for some projects versus others in contributing to the value of an HSO.

By Day 3

Post a description of which types of project management approaches are used by your HSO or an HSO with which you are familiar. Then, explain the strengths and weaknesses of using these types of project management approaches in contributing value to the organization. Be specific and provide example

4 pages due by 20 hrs

Theosebia is a freshman at Euphoria State University, Palladia, where she majors in computational-bio-chemical-veterinary engineering. On a holiday, she returns home and her parents ask about her classes. She tells them that in her favorite class she is learning about the history of alchemy. Her parents are not pleased. “We have scrimped and saved and borrowed to send you to college so that you can receive a useful education and find a good job! But you are wasting time on rubbish! Everyone knows that alchemy was a fraud and anyone who believed in it must have been ignorant or a charlatan or both! When you told us that you had to take a GE class in the humanities, we agreed that you would take a class about the history of science, not the history of nonsense!” After her parents calm down, Theosebia tells them that they have the wrong idea about the history of alchemy.

Write a dialogue between Theosebia and one or both of her parents, in which she tries to convince them that their objections to studying the history of alchemy are mistaken. (Do not repeat the part of the conversation that I have written above.) Organize the dialogue as a sequence of exchanges between Theosebia and one or both of her parents. Each exchange should have a well-defined topic, with the parent(s) raising specific objections, to which Theosebia responds, using knowledge from this course. Think about the most important points about the history of alchemy that you want to address and structure the dialogue around them. Your dialogue should make at least four main points. This means that Theosebia should deliver at least four paragraph-length speeches, each one devoted to a different argument or topic (announced with a topic sentence) about the history of alchemy. Theosebia must back up her claims with evidence in the form of specific examples from lectures and readings. Use at least one quotation from the assigned texts in each of Theosebia’s four main statements (a total of at least four quotations).

You can format the dialogue like a play (example) or like a short story (so long as it consists primarily of dialogue). Provide citations for all quotations in parentheses or footnotes (but not endnotes). Citations should consist of the last name of the author and the page number, for example: “Principe, 127.” Use the page numbers of the original texts, not those that may have been added to the course reader.  You can find full bibliographic for all readings in the reading guides and in the reader’s table of contents. (A bibliography at the end of the essay is not required.) Do not refer to readings from outside the course. You do not need to provide citations to lectures. Avoid excessive quotation, especially from secondary sources. (See Essay Tips for clarification.)

Essays will be evaluated for organization, clarity, and grammar as well as content. Read these essay tips and look at the rubric which will be used to evaluate the essay.

Format your essay in a standard, black 12-point font such as Calibiri or Times.

Upload an electronic copy of your essay by 12 PM on April 26. Late essays without an extension will be marked down 5% for each day that they are late. (See syllabus for policy on extensions.)

The essay evaluates your individual achievement. Do not collaborate on the essay in any way with other students. (You may discuss your essay with your TA, myself, or writing specialists and tutors.) All the usual standards of plagiarism and academic honesty apply (see syllabus). If you study for the in-class exam with classmates, beware of discussing the essay in order to avoid unintentional plagiarism. Essays that resemble one another closely will be referred to Student Judicial Affairs for investigation.

Causes and Solutions for Performance Problems

Review the online lesson Causes and Solutions for Performance Problems, presented below.

Read the following scenario:

Your restaurant chain has started an employee bonus program to promote several new menu items. The three servers who sell the most of these new items each week receive a bonus amount added to their hourly paycheck. The first week, most of your servers did a good job promoting the new items. The bonuses went to servers who are always willing to fill in extra shifts—that week, they worked more hours than the rest of your servers. The next week, the same thing happened. You also notice that the other servers have stopped recommending the new menu items, and are concerned that the total sales of new items are dropping rather than increasing, which will reflect badly on your location’s upcoming evaluation.

Identify the problem and suggest a solution:

1) Identify the Problem Is this a problem with the work environment, a motivation problem, or a skill problem (online lesson above)?

Tell what symptoms (from the previous page) make you think it is this type of problem.

2) Recommend a Solution Based on the type of problem, describe the training or non-training solution you would use to correct the problem.

Environmental Scan (Please look at attachment)

Direction to set up the environmental blog is below.

To Prepare:

  • This multiweek Assignment requires you to record your work in an individual blog within the classroom (your “log”) that will be accessible to both your peers and your Instructor at all times.
  • To complete your blog entries, navigate to your blog in the Blogs area of the course menu.
  • Click on Create Blog Entry.
  • Title your blog using your name and the week. For example, “Smith_J Week 2.”
  • In the Entry Message area, make an initial entry that very briefly states the purpose of your blog and the focus area on which you intend to concentrate.
  • Click on Post Entry when you are finished. You will follow these steps for each blog entry.
  • Access at least two listservs and at least two active blogs in order to follow topics and trends. These can be those listed in your weekly Learning Resources or those chosen on your own. Make weekly notes in your blog to capture topics and developments in the field. Your blog should include periodic reflection on the content.

Reminder: As you make posts in your log, be sure to support your postings with specific references to the resources you use. Use APA formatting to cite your sources.

Sources for your Environmental Scan: The Learning Resources list several listservs to which you can subscribe. You will need to conduct an Internet search for assessment and evaluation blogs. Do not assume that all blogs are equal; some are marketing tools by consultants that may not advance your knowledge. If you use websites as resources, be certain they are updated frequently and are not simply static repositories of information.

What to log: The purpose of a scan is to read and reflect on many sources of information. Realistically, however, you will not be able to reflect on all topics. Create your own heuristic technique for a simple tally of all topics that emerge; and in addition to that, select several topics to actually report on. Your report may take the form of synthesis of comments on these topics, or the report may compare and contrast the treatment of those topics on the different listservs and blogs.

Epidemiology homework- need help

Based on the information in this video, Meridian Diagnostics Inc. decided to produce an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (EIA test kit) to screen for presence of Salmonella heidelberg, so patients who became sickened, could be diagnosed quickly and treated. Patient blood samples could be tested for presence of the S. heidelberg bacteria as opposed to other Genera and species of bacteria.

1. With this information, by constructing a 2-by-2 table, calculate the predictive-value positive and predictive-value negative of the EIA in a hypothetical population of 1,000,000 blood donors. Using a separate 2-by-2 table, calculate PVP and PVN for a population of 1000 ill patients. Assume that the actual prevalence of S. heidelberg among blood donors is 0.04% (0.0004) and that of people who ate Foster’s chicken is 10.0% (0.10).

2. Do you think that the EIA is a good screening test for the hospital? Why or why not?

3. Do you think that the EIA performs well enough to justify using the test outcomes in court cases? Why or why not?

4. If sensitivity and specificity remain constant, what is the relationship of prevalence to predictive-value positive and predictive-value negative?

Given their success with the EIA for S. heidelberg, Meridian Diagnostics decided to perfect their design, and use it to produce an EIA to test for E. coli O157 H7.

5. With this information, by constructing a 2-by-2 table, calculate the predictive-value positive and predictive-value negative of the EIA in a hypothetical population of 500,000 blood donors. Using a separate 2-by-2 table, calculate PVP and PVN for a population of 600 ill patients. Assume that the actual prevalence of E. coli among blood donors is 0.02% (0.0002) and that of people who ate Jack-In-the-Box hamburgers is 15.0% (0.15).
