To prepare for this Discussion:

  • Review this week’s DVD program, “Application of Psychological Research – Clinical Settings.” Consider the areas of forensic psychology research that are relevant to forensic clinical settings.
  • Review the article, “ Actuarial Versus Clinical Assessments of Dangerousness,” in this week’s Learning Resources.
  • Pay particular attention to the studies discussed in the article and the key “takeaways” from these studies. Think about how a forensic psychology professional might use the findings of the studies in a forensic clinical setting.
  • Using the Walden Library, select and review another study, current or historical, that was conducted in a forensic clinical setting.
  • Again, focus on the key “takeaways” of the study you selected and think about how the findings might be used by a forensic psychology professional in forensic clinical settings.

With these thoughts in mind:

Post  a brief summary of the study you selected, being sure to include the key findings and any other important “takeaways” of the study. Then, explain how a forensic psychology professional might use the findings in this or another clinical forensic setting.

Be sure to support your postings and responses with specific references to the Learning Resources.

1)Learn About creating good password security. An IT Security consultant has made three primary recommendations regarding passwords:Prohibit guessable passwords: such as common names, real words, numbers only, require special characters and a mix of caps, lower case and numbers in passwords

Reauthenticate before changing passwords: user must enter old pw before creating new one

Make authenticators unforgeable : do not allow email or user ID as password

Using WORD, write a brief paper of 250-350 words explaining each of these security recommendations.  Do you agree or disagree with these recommendations. Would you change, add or delete any of these?  Add additional criteria as you see necessary.

2) Watch the Movie War Games from 1983. According to the New York Times, this movie had a tremendous effect on President Ronald Reagan.  Discuss in 500 words your opinion on whether it should be required viewing in social studies classes in high school. Do not repeat the story. Discuss it’s use in school.  Use at least three sources. Use the Research Databases available from the Danforth Library, not Google.   Include at least 3 quotes from your sources enclosing the copied words in quotation marks and cited in-line by reference to your reference list.  Example: “words you copied” (citation) These quotes should be one full sentence not altered or paraphrased. Cite your sources using APA format. Use the quotes in your paragraphs. Do Not Doublespace. . It should be in APA format.

Copying without attribution or the use of spinbot or other word substitution software will result in a grade of 0.  Write in essay format not in bulleted, numbered or other list format.

Module 04 Written Assignment – Case Mix Crisis

Module 04 Content

  1. To help you to better understand why case mix is important to managed care and reimbursement methods; here are some fictional heart attack mortality rates for three different hospitals. Consider the national average for heart attack death rates to be 16%.

    Hospital.docx

    Part I
Write a 3-4 page report in which you answer the following questions:

    1. Explain case mix and why it is important in evaluating different health care providers.
    2. Refer to the table of heart attack mortality rates for Hospitals A, B, and C. From your reading this week, what variables might be impacting the rates in the table? Please explain and discuss the use of data analysis for evaluating this kind of information.
    3. Part II
You are a staff member at Hospital B, which has the worst mortality rate from heart attacks as seen in the table. Imagine that the administrator for Hospital B has asked you to appear at a Press Conference to share your knowledge about case mix.

      Hospita1.docx

After participating in the Press Conference, write a 2-page summary to explain the use of date for decision-making purposes, and how the technology department performs critical core business processes essential to the managed care organization.

Submit your completed assignment to the drop box below. Please check the Course Calendar for specific due dates.

Save your assignment as a Microsoft Word document. (Mac users, please remember to append the “.docx” extension to the filename.) Informal Proposals

Informal Proposals

This week’s assignment focuses on informal proposals. There are three parts to the assignment:

1.  Outline a proposal following the outline format presented in Chapter 6 of the textbook.

2.  Write an introduction for your proposal.

3.  Research:  Finding sources that are relevant to your proposal.

Part I.  Write Outline For a proposal

Using the Outline Format for an Informal Proposal (Chapter 6), outline a proposal.  You may choose your own engineering or information technology topic.  However, you may also choose from the topics listed below.  The topics are general; you will need to narrow and focus your proposal idea. Research may be required.

·  A proposal to address network or computer security issues (firewall, malware, anti-virus

·  A proposal to upgrade an existing application or install a new application

·  A proposal for a Web-based training system (implementing a new platform or upgrading existing platform)

·  A proposal to build some type of flying craft (e.g. drone, quadcopter)

·  A proposal to build some type of robotic device.

·  A proposal to automate a system

·  Information Technology and Management projects at Illinois Institute of Technology

·  Engineering projects from Calvin University

Part II: Write the introduction to your proposal.

This proposal is an informal proposal and it is a solicited proposal.  Your audience is receptive to your proposal.

Your introduction should clearly state the:

·  Purpose

·  Background (why you are proposing the idea)

·  Scope of the proposal

Be sure to identify your audience – is it a Professor (academic audience), someone in an organization (professional audience)?  Your introduction should clearly state the Purpose, Background (why are you proposing this idea), and Scope of the proposal.

Part III:  Research

Find three sources that provide information on the costs and/or time involved in implementing your proposal.  The Internet or the EBSCO on line library system may be used to find source.  Use the attached Proposal Time & Cost Source Sheet to enter the source information.

1.  Summarize the content of the sources (2-3 sentences)

2.  State why they are relevant to your proposal.

Format Requirements:

1.  One-inch (1”) margins

2.  Double-spaced

3.  Submit two documents:

·  Proposal Outline and Introduction

·  Proposal Time & Cost Source Sheet

Assignment checklist:

·  Part I and Part II: Check content of your outline and introduction against the content elements listed in the textbook.

·  Part III:  Check to see that your URLs are accurate and that the sources can be accessed before submitting your work.

·  Proofread and spell check your work

Probability

  1. A Survey of 30 people to find out if they are left-handed or right-handed, and use the following chart to create a contingency table with the information.

Left handed= 6

 Right handed = 24

Total Female lefty =4 righty=16

Male lefty Total= 2 righty=8

  1. Answer the following questions about the information in your contingency table:
    1. If a person is randomly selected from the survey participants, what is the probability that the person will be left-handed?
    2. If you randomly choose a female from the people you surveyed, what is the probability that she is left-handed?
    3. What is the odds ratio of choosing a left-handed female?
    4. What is the relative risk of choosing a left-handed female?

Example

Green

Blue

Total

Cats

40 (A)

20 (B)

60 (A+B)

Dogs

30 (C)

40 (D)

70 (C+D)

Total

70 (A+C)

60 (B+D)

130 (A+B+C+D)

  1. Probability of Green – (A+C)/(A+B+C+D): 70/130 = 0.54
  2. Probability of Green Cat – A/(A+B): 40/60 = 0.67
  3. Odds Ratio of Green Cat – (A/B)/(C/D) or AD/BC: (4040)/(2030) = 1600/600 = 2.67
  4. Relative Risk of Green Cat – [A/(A+C)]/[B/(B+D)]: (40/70)/(20/60) = 1.71
  5. Skim through at least one of the following articles on left-handed vs. right-handed people from the Chamberlain Library. Answer the following question: How do the probabilities and percentages for your study compare to those in the study you read?

  UCC v. Common Law

**MUST USE APA format scholarly sources**

**Cite in APA in paper**

Filbert’s Meat Shop, LLC shipped to Sonic Taco, a company based in  Yuma, Arizona, an order of chorizo and machaca beef. That same day,  Filbert’s mailed an invoice for the order for $11,000, based on the  understanding that an oral contract existed between the parties, whereby  Sonic Taco had agreed to pay for the meat. Sonic Taco was engaged in  the real estate business at this time and had earlier been approached by  Filbert’s Meat to discuss that company’s real estate investment  potential. Sonic Taco denied ever guaranteeing payment for the meat and  raised the Uniform Commercial Codes Statute of Frauds, Section 2-201, as  an affirmative defense. Filbert’s Meat Shop contended that because  Sonic Taco was in the business of buying and selling real estate, they  possessed knowledge or skill peculiar to the practices involved in the  transaction here. After hearing the evidence, the court concluded as a  matter of law that Sonic Taco did agree to pay for the meat and was  liable to Filbert’s Meat Shop in the amount of $11,000. Sonic Taco  appealed.

In your discussion post, address the following questions:

  • Is this a case governed by the UCC?
  • If it was under common law, is the result different than the UCC?
  • How should the appeals court rule?

Your initial response should be a minimum of 300 words.

Write one program C++

Write one program that does the following:

1.  Ask the user for ten (10) grades, and store the data in an array.  Compute the average of all the grades.  Print the original ten grades and the average.

a.  Declare an integer array with the name of “grades” of size 10 in the main function.

b.  Create a function called “getGrades” that prompts the User for the grades and puts them in an integer array.

 i.  The function will receive an integer array and the size of the array.

ii.  In the function prototype and the function header, call the array “gradeArray” and call the size of the array “size.”

iii.  Create a For Loop that cycles through each cell of the array.

iv.  At each cell prompt the User for a grade.

 v.  Store the grade entered by the User into the array cell.

c.  From main, send this function the array called “grades” and the size of the array.

d.  Create a function called “computeAverage” that computes the average of an array of integers and returns the average as a float.

 i.  The function will receive an integer array and the size of the array.

ii.  In the function prototype and the function header, call the array “numbers” and call the size of the array “size.”

iii.  Create a For Loop that cycles through each cell of the array and computes a running total of the values stored in the array.

iv.  Use the size of the array to compute the average from the running total.

 v.  Return the average through the function name.

e.  From main, send this function the array called “grades” and the size of the array.

f.  From main, print out the average returned by computeAverage.

g.  Create a third function called “printInts” that will print out the contents of an integer array.  This function will be void.

 i.  The function will receive an integer array and the size of the array.

ii.    In the function prototype and the function header, call the array “intArray” and call the size of the array “size.”

iii.  Create a For Loop that prints out the contents of the array.

2.  Generate 20 random numbers within a range of 1 to 50 and store them in an integer array named “randomArray.”  Then print out the contents of the array.

a.  Create a function named “getRandom” that will generate a random number between any range.

 i.  The function will receive two call-by-value arguments – the beginning value of the range and the ending value of the range.

ii.  Generate a random number within the specified range.

iii.  Send the random number back through the function name.

b.  In the main function, create a For Loop that cycles through the array called randomArray.

 i.  With each cycle, call your getRandom function from main and store the random number it returns into your array.

c.  In main, call the function printInts to print out the contents of the array called randomArray.  Make sure you use the SAME FUNCTION you created in step 1.  You are just sending it a different array.

d.  Next, in the main function, call the function computeAverage to compute the average of the random numbers you stored in the array called randomArray.  Make sure you use the SAME FUNCTION you created in step 1.  You are just sending it a different array.

e.  In main, print out the average returned by computeAverage.

BIOLOGY

 Need paper by 4pm wednesday

Select one (1) of the following biotechnology topics to write about:

· Genetically modified crop plants

· Genetically modified microorganisms

· Genetically modified animals

· Personal genomics and / or personalized medicine for humans

· Gene therapy

Write a four to six (4 to 6) page paper on your chosen topic.  Organize your paper into sections corresponding to the following requirements:

1. Biological basis. Describe the technology. Discuss what it accomplishes. Elaborate on the scientific principles that make this technology possible. Your goal in this section of the paper is to show the instructor that you understand the underlying science behind the technology. Describe how exactly the technology works. Discuss the biological principles that underlie this technology.

2. Social and ethical implications. Without disclosing your personal view about this technology, provide an analysis of its social and ethical implications. State the ethical concerns apparent in the use of this technology. Discuss the benefits and risks. Your goal in this section is to look at all sides of the issue. In the next section, you will give your opinion.

3. Personal viewpoint. In the previous section, your goal was to be as objective as possible, to look at all sides of the issues. In this section, your goals are to give a personal opinion about the technology and provide a justification of that opinion.

4. Use at least three (3) quality resources in this assignment, in addition to the course text. Note: Wikipedia and similar Websites do not qualify as quality resources. The body of the paper must have in-text citations that correspond to the references. Integrate all sources into your paper using proper techniques of quoting, paraphrasing and summarizing, along with proper use of in-text citations to credit your sources.

Complete the following assignments

1.Complete the document TeachingSam CookeStudyGuideREVISEDFall2020 and TeachingBryanStevensonStudyGuideRevisedFall2020. The assignment is required in two documents, and the answer to each question is only one or two sentences.
