 BUSINESS LAW (LAW101)
LEGAL PROBLEM ASSIGNMENT
Semester 1, 2021
Question
Imagine you are a group of lawyers working in the legal department of a large telecommunications company called -Gateway Mobile-. Gateway Mobile sells phone plans, handsets, and phone accessories in stores all over Australia.
The CEO of Gateway Mobile is Sarah Lee. Sarah has contacted your team for advice in the following memo:

Dear Legal Department,
I am seeking your trusted guidance about a few issues that have been on my mind lately. Could you please prepare a letter of advice about the following matters?
1. I have recently read about several ethical scandals in the media that have greatly damaged the reputations of some large companies. I want to learn from their mistakes and ensure that Gateway Mobile does not get caught up in anything similar. Can you identify two ethical issues that we could potentially face in our business and how we can take steps to prevent them? Are there any legal requirements aware of that relat to these ethical issues?

https://legitassignmenthelp.com/2021/04/09/business-law-law101-legal-problem-assignment-semester-1-2021/
2. The demographic of our customers is getting younger and younger. With the rise of social media and apps like TikTok, we are seeing more teenagers walk through the doors of our stores to sign up to phone plans with lots of data. What does the law say about entering a contract with minors? Are our contracts with teenage customers still valid?
3. As you know, we often enter contracts with other businesses to supply corporate phone plans and handsets. Most of these contracts have been in place for years. I have heard that there have been some changes to contract laws to protect small businesses, and I am worried that our contracts might now be considered -unfair-. In particular, we usually provide standard form contracts that allow us to increase our prices whenever we want, as well as automatic renewal of the contract (unless the customer gives notice to terminate). Do I have anything to worry about?
I appreciate your prompt advice about the above issues. Please make sure you reference legislation, case law and journal articles in your response so I can go back to trace the source of your advice if I need more information.
Yours sincerely,  https://legitassignmenthelp.com/2021/04/09/business-law-law101-legal-problem-assignment-semester-1-2021/

CJ 3300 MOD 6 PROJECT

The class projects are designed to aid you in critically thinking about a variety of criminal justice topics and to get you engaged in the problem solving process. They will be utilized in class to stimulate discussion and to prompt any questions you may have about the criminal justice system. The class projects are to be word processed, size 12 font, double spaced with one inch margins around the page (default). Your responses should be thorough and scholarly. Avoid jargon and street language as you are completing each of the responses to these questions. For instance, “cop” is generally unacceptable, “police officer” is preferred. A person may be “mentally ill” or “legally insane”, not “nuts”. I will be collecting these at the beginning of class on the date assigned. I will not accept late assignments for the class projects. It is your responsibility to bring the papers to class or in the case of an absence to e-mail the document as a Word attachment. Students should verify that the document is complete when e-mailed (mailing version to self and checking attachment). Attachments that cannot be opened or are blank are considered late. Papers should be 700+ words in length and shall reference the text formally at least four times. A word count shall be included at the end of the paper and a reference section will also be included. Remember this is not a book report. This is a written analysis and critical review in the form of a profile.

Develop a Note-Taking Process

Instructions

This week, you will find peer-reviewed scholarly research studies: one should be a mixed methods study, and the others can be either quantitative or qualitative or both. Use the note-taking worksheet in the books and resources section of this week for each of the articles you find in the NCU Library.

Using the note-taking worksheet provided in the books and resources section, find the elements of research to fill in the table. In addition, make sure you use proper APA citation, form, and style. These elements are listed in the worksheet—but understand you may at first have difficulty finding them, so feel free to use the checklist elements discussed in this week’s content when reading the articles.

  • What is the type of study?
  • What is the purpose of the study?
  • What is the population and sample size?
  • What research design is being used?
  • What is the method(s) of data collection and data analysis?
  • What are the results of the data analysis?
  • How do the results of data analysis relate to the findings?
  • What are the conclusions?
  • How does the study relate to similar research?

The information you include in your note-taking worksheet can be brief, in the form of notes. Any time you enter information that is a direct quote from the original source, be sure to enclose that information in quotation marks so you can cite it correctly in your paper and include a page reference. Failure to correctly cite can lead to a violation of academic integrity. Such violations are recorded in your student record and can have serious consequences, including dismissal from your program.

Length: 3-4 pages, or however long you need to summarize your scholarly articles

References: Include a minimum of 3 peer-reviewed scholarly resources

Project 2

Tympanic Membrane and Thyroid Gland

Using the classroom resources or South University Online Library, research the tympanic membrane and the thyroid gland. In a Microsoft Word document of 4-5 pages formatted in APA style, address each of the following criteria.

  • Two focused health assessment histories
    • One assessment related to the tympanic membrane and the other focused on the thyroid gland.
    • The assessments can be hypothetical patients or patients you have had in the past (remember HIPAA if you are describing a previous patient).
  • A description of the normal and abnormal findings of the tympanic membrane.
  • Information on how to examine the thyroid gland using both the anterior and posterior methods.
  • A concise note in the subjective, objective, assessment (be sure to include the NANDA diagnosis as well as the medical diagnosis), and plan (SOAP) format with each patient’s encountered findings.
  • Information about laboratory/diagnostic tests used for screening clients with tympanic membrane or thyroid gland issues.
    • Include the expected normal results for each test.

On a separate references page, cite all sources using APA format. Helpful APA guides and resources are available in the South University Online Library. Below are guides that are located in the library and can be accessed and downloaded via the South University Online Citation Resources: APA Style page. 9/22/18 Discussion Post/ and student response

This is a class discussion post that needs to be approximately 2-5 paragraphs in length.

***Discussion Post should be followed accordingly each question asked needs to be answered.

********I will post the students response below.  With the Student response it should be 1-2 paragraphs in length reply to the students disccusion.

-Identify a quote from one of this week’s readings that resonated with you. Why did you find this particular quote so impactful or noteworthy?

“The 1992 election, dubbed the ‘Year of the Woman’ by the national media, saw a dramatic increase in the number of women, particularly Democratic women in Congress, and this number has risen steadily over the years.” – Descriptive Representation: Understanding the Impact of Identity on Substantive Representation of Group Interests

I found this quote from the required “Descriptive Representation” piece and this stood out to me so much, especially in this moment. In my Women and Politics class that I am taking this semester, each student has to pick a woman that is running in the November election and write a portfolio about her. We have to follow her throughout the entire semester, all the way up to when she wins. We have just started with this project but it has really opened my eyes to all of the women, and even minority women, that are running for office this year. I have seen many articles online that say that 2018 is also going to be dubbed the “Year of the Woman”. There are so many minority women that are running for office in November and I think that the number of women is only going to increase. With all of these women’s rights movements, they are really bringing light to the dramatic number of men in office compared to women. It is so noteworthy that our government is now being represented by the actual citizens of the US and that the people can relate to these women in office.

Application: Adoption of New Technology Systems

As a nurse, you can have a great impact on the success or failure of the adoption of EHRs. It is important for nurses to understand their role as change agents and the ways they can influence others when addressing the challenges of changing to a drastically different way of doing things.

Everett Rogers, a pioneer in the field of the diffusion of innovations, identified five qualities that determine individual attitudes towards adopting new technology (2003). He theorized that individuals are concerned with:

  • Relative advantage: The individual adopting the new innovation must see how it will be an improvement over the old way of doing things.
  • Compatibility with existing values and practices: The adopter must understand how the new innovation aligns with current practices.
  • Simplicity: The adopter must believe he or she can easily master the new technology; the more difficult learning the new system appears, the greater the resistance that will occur.
  • Trialability: The adopter should have the opportunity to “play around’ with the new technology and explore its capabilities.
  • Observable results: The adopter must have evidence that the proposed innovation has been successful in other situations.

Note: You are not required to purchase Rogers’ book or pursue further information regarding his list of five qualities. The information provided here is sufficient to complete this Assignment. The full reference for Rogers’ work is provided below the due date on this page.

For this Assignment, you assume the role of a nurse facilitator in a small hospital in upstate New York. You have been part of a team preparing for the implementation of a new electronic health records system. Decisions as to the program that will be used have been finalized, and you are now tasked with preparing the nurses for the new system. There has been an undercurrent of resistance expressed by nurses, and you must respond to their concerns. You have a meeting scheduled with the nurses 1 week prior to the training on the new EHR system. Consider how you can use the five qualities outlined by Rogers (2003) to assist in preparing the nurses for the upcoming implementation.

To prepare

  • Review the Learning Resources this week about successful implementations of EHRs.
  • Consider how you would present the new EHR system to the nurses to win their approval.
  • Reflect on the five qualities outlined by Rogers. How would addressing each of those areas improve the likelihood of success?
By Day 7 of Week 6

Write a 3- to 5-page paper which includes the following:

  • Using Rogers’ (2003) theory as a foundation, outline how you would approach the meeting with the nurses. Be specific as to the types of information or activities you could provide to address each area and include how you would respond to resistance.
  • Analyze the role of nurses as change agents in facilitating the adoption of new technology.

Week 2 Discussion 2 HIS206

We anticipate that this assignment will take you 2 hours to complete (this may vary by student). This includes time for research, reading of outside materials, critical thinking, writing, revision of text, and reflection on the topic. You should expect the assignment to be graded and returned with feedback from your instructor no later than Thursday at 11:59PM following the due date.

Prepare: Read Chapters 4 and 6 of the textbook and watch To Conquer or Redeem.

Reflect Icon Reflect: As you learn about American Imperialism, think about the factors that contributed to it. Consider the importance of the expansion of the Navy, the technological advancements, and the need for markets brought on by the Industrial Revolution. Think also about the idea of Manifest Destiny. It is often connected to the settlement and development of the American West, but how was it also connected to American Imperialism? Take the time to notice President Theodore Roosevelt’s role in promoting American Imperialism and the factors contributing to America’s expanding role in the world.

Write Icon

Write: Refer to your textbook and the film. Thoroughly address the following points:

  • Explain Manifest Destiny and American exceptionalism
  • How were these ideas applied to U.S. foreign policy at the turn of the 20th century?
  • What do you see as the positives and negatives of American Imperialism?

Your initial post should be at least 250 words in length. Provide specific examples to support your points. Your references and citations must be formatted according to APA style as outlined by the Ashford Writing Center.

ACC/543 PRACTICE WEEK 2

Dwight Donovan, the president of Walton Enterprises, is considering two investment opportunities. Because of limited resources, he will be able to invest in only one of them. Project A is to purchase a machine that will enable factory automation; the machine is expected to have a useful life of five years and no salvage value. Project B supports a training program that will improve the skills of employees operating the current equipment. Initial cash expenditures for Project A are $103,000 and for Project B are $48,000. The annual expected cash inflows are $26,481 for Project A and $13,982 for Project B. Both investments are expected to provide cash flow benefits for the next five years. Walton Enterprises’ desired rate of return is 6 percent. (PV of $1 and PVA of $1) (Use appropriate factor(s) from the tables provided.)

  1. Compute the net present value of each project. Which project should be adopted based on the net present value approach?
  2. Compute the approximate internal rate of return of each project. Which one should be adopted based on the internal rate of return approach?

*****What is the net present value for project A & B?

*****What is the approximate internal rate of return for Project A & B?
