The benchmark assesses the following competencies:

1.4 Participate in health care policy development to influence nursing practice and health care.

Research public health issues on the “Climate Change” or “Topics and Issues” pages of the American Public Health Association (APHA) website. Investigate a public health issue related to an environmental issue within the U.S. health care delivery system and examine its effect on a specific population.

Write a 750-1,000-word policy brief that summarizes the issue, explains the effect on the population, and proposes a solution to the issue.

Follow this outline when writing the policy brief:

1. Describe the policy health issue. Include the following information: (a) what population is affected, (b) at what level does it occur (local, state, or national), and (c) evidence about the issues supported by resources.
2. Create a problem statement.
3. Provide suggestions for addressing the health issue caused by the current policy. Describe what steps are required to initiate policy change. Include necessary stakeholders (government officials, administrator) and budget or funding considerations, if applicable.
4. Discuss the impact on the health care delivery system.

Include three peer-reviewed sources and two other sources to support the policy brief.

Prepare this assignment according to the guidelines found in the APA Style Guide, located in the Student Success Center. An abstract is not required.

This assignment uses a rubric. Please review the rubric prior to beginning the assignment to become familiar with the expectations for successful completion.

Based upon the assigned readings and presentations, you will answer all questions using current APA formatting (Times New Roman, 12- point font, and double spaced). All answers must be compiled in a Word document. Citations from the assigned reading are required in answering the questions. The written assignments must include at least one reference(s) in addition to the course textbooks and the Bible. Each answer must be comprehensive, with sport related current examples. Each question must be answered with 400–500 words. Select 4 of the following questions to answer. Critical thinking must be demonstrated in each answered question.  

1. From the perspective of interactionalist theory, does the professional athlete have a responsibility to his employer to be available via social media – and if so, to what extent?  
2. If you were responsible for a community budget for sport, what proportions of funding would you allocate to high performance and participation sport. Justify your answer and give specific examples?  
3. Does commercializing in sport promote your values? Why or why not?  
4. Should financial support to sports programs be pegged to the support other educational programs receive within the institution?  
5. Would sports survive without the media?  
6. Should there be a limit on coaches’ salaries at universities? Should the decision be left to each school? Justify your answer?  

Scenario

You are the facility manager for EnVision, a high-tech vehicle maker located in Atlanta. This new company designs, manufactures, and sells electric vehicles and charging units. EnVision’s unique designs, technical prowess, and limited competition has placed them in the enviable position of having a high demand for their line of products. This demand has generated over a billion dollars in pre-sale orders, and a new manufacturing facility is required to meet customer’s needs. The firm’s CEO, Mark Hammel, has asked you to select a new site that will accommodate a new state-of-the-art facility. EnVision is a privately held organization that consists of a board of directors, management and staff, all of whom are familiar with data visualization presentations.

The existing 600 employees and a handful of investors also have an interest in the company’s success. All of the EnVision employees are acquainted with the company’s operations and goals and have at least a high school education; they do not want their employment jeopardized. A small group of investors is also interested in any decisions that might affect the firm’s bottom line. The extent of data visualization techniques is unknown by these two latter groups.

Instructions

The CEO, Mark Hammel has asked you to help him plan for a presentation for sharing your findings on the site selection and other information, to be presented to all levels of the company in an internal meeting. Your site selection criteria need to be presented and explained by all the various entities within EnVision. Be sure to include the following, being mindful of your visual presentation of the data and information.

Create a powerpoint presentation report that includes the following:

• Identification of the needs and goals of the various stakeholder groups.
• Evaluation of the audience member’s background and skills.
• Definition of the motivating factors for audience participation in the presentation.
• Compare and contrast the desired outcomes of the visuals to be included in the presentation.

The residents of Mucho County value a multicultural healthcare delivery system to meet the needs of the community and enhance patient experience. As the new chief executive officer (CEO), you must consider the role of cultural, legal, and ethical issues in health service delivery in Mucho County.

Prepare a review of the health delivery services of the Mucho County Healthcare System. In your review, consider the following questions, and respond accordingly:

• What ethical principles must staff members at Mucho County Healthcare System facilities review to enable them to deal with ethical and legal dilemmas?
• What is the role of culture in healthcare service delivery or healing of a patient in a multicultural environment such as Mucho County?
• What are the barriers to achieving cultural competence in an organization?

A variety of academic sources is encouraged.
• Reference page: References that align with your in-body academic sources are listed on the final page of your paper. The references must be in APA format using appropriate spacing, hanging indent, italics, and uppercase and lowercase usage as appropriate for the type of resource used. Remember, the Reference page is not a bibliography but a further listing of the abbreviated in-body citations used in the paper. Every referenced item must have a corresponding in-body citation.

Overview

The elevator pitch was a success! Senior management believes they made the right choice in giving you the title of CIO and putting you in charge of seizing new opportunities in the marketplace.

Scenario

While the pitch conveyed your good idea, it was just that: an idea. You now have to test the feasibility of your idea. However, before you create a complete business model canvas (BMC), you want to quickly identify key elements needed to take your product or service idea to market.

In doing so, you will assume that all components of the BMC are at the fingertips of your project team. For example, you will have to work with the marketing and sales departments, and perhaps outside vendors and suppliers, to promote, advertise, and sell the product or service.

The Business Model Canvas Template you complete in this assignment will serve as the groundwork for the more detailed PowerPoint slide deck you will create in Milestone Two. As with any well-executed project, a former project manager experienced in such product-to-market initiatives has agreed to assess your complete BMC slide deck, which you will submit in Module Five.

• Financial considerations: Make reasonable assumptions about the segments that will inform your profit projections. These include the Cost Structure and Revenue Stream building blocks.
