Comparing Mississippi, NCSS, and Core Standards

Write a paper comparing the Mississippi social studies standards, the NCSS standards and the new Common Core standards. A copy of these standards is available on Canvas. The NCSS thematic standards are on page 54 in your book. For the Common Core standards, you are only responsible for writing about the K-5 standards that are on pages 9-33.

The paper needs to have an introduction and a conclusion and must consist of at least 900 words. The cover page does not count toward the word length. The paper must respond to the following questions:

  1. What is the difference between the three sets of standards?
  2. In what way are they the same?
  3. Which set of standards is more important? Why?
  4. Are any of the NCSS standards less important than others? Explain
  5. Are any of the Mississippi social studies frameworks less important than others? Explain
  6. Are any of the Core standards less important than others?
  7. If you had to make a change to the NCSS standards, what would you do? Explain
  8. If you had to make a change to the Mississippi frameworks, what would you do? Explain?
  9. If you had to make a change to the Core standards, what would you do? Explain
  10. What is your overall opinion of the three sets of standards?

Final project part 2

I have attached the part 1 which it was done few weeks ago, and now I have te Assignment: Final Project (Part 2)

Resources
Read/review the following resources for this activity:

  • Textbook: Chapter 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13
  • Textbook: Integrative Case 1, 3, 5, 7, 8, 9, 10
  • Link (website):
  • Minimum of 3 outside resources

Introduction

The final project in this course will give you an opportunity to apply what you have learned about organizational theory to analyze a business and suggest organizational improvements based on your findings.

Activity Instructions

You will identify an organization public, private, or non-profit that you will be able to become intricately involved with. You will apply what you have learned in the course through readings and on-line discussions to define a problem within the organization.

You will gather information from people with direct content to the organization. You may supplement this information with data from the media, the organization’s literature, and other secondary sources. Speaking to individuals involved will allow you to know the organization on a deeper level and strengthen the application of what you have learned.

The problem within the organization that you will solve should be recent and one that you need to analyze to be able to evaluate the root cause. You want to be able to understand what is causing the issue or concern in the organization (i.e. high turnover, attendance concerns, union activity, low morale, motivations, low commitment, etc.).

Key assignment goals:

1.   One goal of this assignment is to take the initiative to make a positive contribution to an organization.

2.   Another major goal is to provide an opportunity for you to learn more about organizational behavior first hand. Using your critical thinking and reflection skills, you will link your experience with this organization to your knowledge of organizational behavior theory.

3.   The final goal is to provide feedback to one other student. This will help you strengthen your final submission as well as your peer’s final submission.

4.   The final paper will describe what you did for the organization, what you learned about organizational behavior, and what steps the company could take to rectify the situation.

Questions that should be contained in the final paper:

A.   Describe the organizational context, identify the parties involved, and evaluate all factors that would be important in understanding the problem or situation.

B.   What are the issues or problems facing the organization?

C.   What course concepts can be applied to understand the reason this problem is occurring?

D.   What recommendations can you offer to help improve organizational functioning?

Part 2: Final Paper (Due This Week)

This written project should summarize what you recommend for the organization and what you have learned about organizational behavior. Be sure to address the questions in the Activity Instructions.

You should consider using appendices to support your findings. Use charts, figures, and other background material. Be sure to reference this information within the paper.

Writing Requirements (APA format)

  • 7-8 pages (approx. 300 words per page), not including title page or references page
  • 1-inch margins
  • Double spaced
  • 12-point Times New Roman font
  • Title page with topic and name of student
  • References page (minimum of 3 outside references)

JD: Week3: Discussion Question

 Terrorist-State Relationships

States that support terrorist groups are known as “state sponsors of terrorism.” In 2008, the U.S. Department of State indicated that Cuba, Iran, Sudan, and Syria were state sponsors of terrorism. A state can be any sovereign political entity, such as a country, or coincide within a larger state or nation. States have their own sets of laws and courts and therefore can dictate their own policies and regulations. This means they can choose to provide financial and political support to terrorist groups. When states support terrorist groups, they often receive support from the groups in return. Terrorist groups might provide states with protection, access to weapons, or intelligence information.

Relationships between states and terrorist groups often have a negative impact on the social, political, and economic systems of those states. Despite such negative influences on the government and its people, many states do not cease relationships with terrorist groups. Therefore one has to ask, why do some states support terrorist groups? In some cases, the support that terrorist groups provide ensures resources that the State is otherwise unable to access. In others, the terrorist groups provide military support against rival enemies to the state.

To prepare for this Discussion:

  • Review the assigned pages in Chapter 4 in the course text Terrorism in Perspective. Reflect on the financial relationships between states and terrorist groups.
  • Review the Chapter 4 article “The Ultimate Organization” in the course text Terrorism in Perspective. Consider Khalfan Mohamed’s story and reflect on the relations that terrorist groups have with states.
  • Review the article “Passive Sponsors of Terrorism.” Reflect on the impact of state sponsored terrorism.
  • Review the PBS video segment A Strengthening Taliban. Consider the relationship between the Taliban and the Afghanistan government.
  • Review the PBS video segment The Challenge Just Over the Border. Think about the Pakistan Army’s support for the Taliban.
  • Review the article “Weak State and Global Threats: Fact or Fiction?” Think about the role that weak and impoverished states have in promoting terrorism.
  • Select one terrorist group that is state-supported to use for this assignment.
  • Consider the nature of the relationship between the terrorist group and the state.
  • Think about how the relationship impacts the terrorist group and the state.

With these thoughts in mind:

Post by Day 4 a brief description of the terrorist group you selected and the state that supports the group. Then, explain the nature of the relationship between them. Finally, explain the impact of the relationship on both the terrorist group and the state. Be specific.

Name of state and terrorist group: Libya support to a variety of Palestinian terrorist groups

Module 1 Discussion-Integrity: Key Players

As a leader, one of the many qualities that you must embrace during your journey, as a professional or a student, is integrity. According to Telford & Gostick (2005), “integrity is tough taskmaster… the ability to consistently act in accordance with their own principles is one thing that sets people of integrity apart” (pg. 1). As we begin this education journey, let’s take a moment to review aspects of integrity in the classroom. Begin by reviewing and completing the graduate tutorial at the following source.

Frick, T., Dagli, C., Barrett, A., Myers, R., Kwon, K., & Tomita, K. (2019). How to recognize plagiarism: Tutorial and tests. Bloomington, IN: Department of Instructional Systems Technology, School of Education, Indiana University. Retrieved from: https://academy.sitehost.iu.edu

Once you have completed your tutorial, you will receive a certificate. Submit the Certificate in your Case 1 Assignment dropbox (Note: you can submit multiple attachments). Please note that you MUST complete this tutorial, successfully pass the quiz, and submit your certificate before you can progress with Case and SLP assignments beyond Module 1.

There are three key players in the delivery of health care: 1) the health care organization, 2) the clinician (team of physicians, nurses, medical assistants, and office staff), and 3) the patient (Coqing, Daviono-Ramaya, Ramaya, & Szmerekosky, 2009). For Module 1 Discussion, discuss the influence each key player has on healthcare delivery and explain the importance of integrity for each player.

Your posts will be graded on how well they meet the Discussion Requirements posted in the “Before You Begin” section. Please review this section as well as the discussion scoring rubric.

Instructions
The following are the best practices for creating your speech presentation:

Title Slide: Include the title, audience (who you prepared the presentation for: school or institution), the presenter who prepared and narrated, and the date.

Attention-Getter: Give the audience a reason to pay attention. Make them want to listen to your speech.

Thesis: Clearly state the purpose of your presentation

(On this slide, establish the tone of the presentation and include any questions you think your audience might have about your topic – questions you will answer during your presentation).

Body of the Presentation (multiple slides): Include the information you found during your research and organize it in a visually pleasing manner.

Use some type of division like levels of headers or titles.

Use words and phrases to clarify key points.

Provide researched evidence for each point.

Cite your evidence, quotes, and statistics within your presentation using

in-text citations ( ) on the slides as well as full reference citations on the

last slide.

Include images to add visual appeal to the slides.

Summary and Conclusion: Summarizing is similar to paraphrasing but presents the gist of the material in fewer words than the original. An effective summary identifies the main ideas and major support points from the body of your outline or presentation. Minor details are left out. Summarize the benefits of the ideas and how they affect the thesis statement of the outline and main objective of the presentation. End with a final strong statement regarding the intent of the presentation.

References: Use the APA citation format. The illustrations should be included with your resources. APA tutorials are available in the Chamberlain University library. Keep in mind the following:

At least 4 authoritative, outside scholarly sources are required from Week 6 outline. (Anonymous authors or web pages are not acceptable.)

Appropriate citations within the presentation are required on the last slide. Just copy and paste this from the last page of your outline – the References page. References should be in APA format.

Each resource should be entirely double spaced.

All entries must use hanging indents – the first line is flush left, and all the rest are indented.

All Chamberlain University policies are in effect including the plagiarism policy.

Additional Hints

Use a minimum of 5 visual aids to further clarify and support the written part of your presentation. You could use example graphs, diagrams, photographs, flowcharts, maps, drawings, pictograms, tables, and Gantt charts. If a slide appears boring, then strongly consider adding a visual. It is the blend of text and images that make the slides engaging for the audience.

Animation and video clips should not be used for this speech. YouTube is not allowed.

Do not type out text onto the slide and then read it during your presentation. Remember, you are the teacher, so teach, don’t read!

biology 101 discussion post

Overview

Although it may sound like science 2520, DNA and RNA technologies are already used in products today. In this discussion you will examine one specific product, organism, or technology in your initial post. Your replies will be written as questions or comparisons between your technology and someone else’s in the class. For full credit you need to post one initial post and reply to two of your classmates with a question or comparison.

You should spend approximately 2 hours on this assignment.

Instructions

  1. Describe and illustrate a drug, an organism, or a reproductive technology based on molecular genetics. Do not repeat a classmate. (Please choose your topic by listing the topic in the title line of a post. You may then come back and complete the original post.)

  2. Make your initial post by the third day of the discussion opening to allow time for interaction. Your initial post should be between 75–100 words.

  3. Reply to two of your classmates. In your replies, compare, contrast, or appraise the drug, organism, or technology. You may make comparisons to your technology. Be sure your replies are at least 50 words each. Response posts should be made on at least two separate days.

Java uses a syntax based on the C family of programming languages, which includes C++, C# (used in Windows) and Objective C (used in iOS and Mac OSX). Like many languages, Java’s syntax is characterized by defining keywords and structural elements that indicate the boundaries and interactions of sections of code.

For this discussion, pick TWO of the below listed topics and explore it using the course textbook and learning activities, and any additional resources you might find from an Internet search. Respond to the questions provided with the item you select. Note: this is a discussion board, not a research paper, so focus on your thoughts, ideas, and any relevant experience.

Topic 1: Consider the use of curly brackets, square brackets, and semi-colons in Java. What purpose might these serve? What would the code be like without them? Do you consider them necessary or a nuisance? Please explain your answer.

Topic 2: Java uses keywords to indicate certain features of a section of code. Examples include “public,” “private,” and “extends.” Discuss the use of keywords in Java. In your post provide an example and how it is used. Discuss the importance of Java keywords.

Topic 3: Discuss how Java syntax compares with another language that you have some familiarity with. Share your perspective on whether one or the other is easier or harder to use, whether the code it produces is more or less easy to understand, and what your personal preference is. Please be sure to explain your answers.

Topic 4: Some languages are better suited for certain kinds of applications than others. Consider what kinds of applications Java might be best suited for, and why. In your post, provide two examples where Java is an ideally suited programming language. Explain your answer.

week9 discussion reply 1

Nurses should be involved in the formulation, implementation, and review of healthcare policies (Milstead & Short, 2019).  Policy review is the process of evaluating the efficiency and effectiveness of implemented healthcare policies (Laureate Education, 2018). Nurses can participate in policy review by using research and data to back up legislation on health policy issues. During policy review, reliable, evidence-based data can be gathered and reflected upon to improve research and for the implementation of better policy. The legislation can be presented with concrete proposal for policy enhancement. Nurses can only make this possible through active participation (Ellenbecker, et al, 2017).

How can nurses participate in policy review? Nurses can join committees at workplaces to focus on quality assurance and monitoring of patient outcomes. Current policies can be monitored to ensure that they are evidence-based, consistently implemented, and outcomes are effective. This is in line with the spirit of advocacy as outlined by the American nurses Association (American Nurses Association, n.d). Another way to participate in policy review is by becoming an active member of a professional nursing organization. Professional organizations help with data gathering and dissemination of evaluated data (ANA, n.d.). Nurses participate in policy review when they help with data and knowledge gathering towards a better policy and outcome evaluation. By joining a professional organization, the nurse will learn from other professional nurses on policy review and how to be active in policy review.

Challenges that can be encountered include lack of awareness/information on current procedures/policies. Lack of training on policy review, difficulty interacting with stakeholders, being unsure of how to go about change implementation, and uncertainty on the process of policy review are challenges that nurses might face in policy review (Glasgow et al, 2003). Also, the leadership of the nurses’ workplace might be resistant to change due to politics. This can make policy review to become politically cumbersome and somewhat impossible for the nurse/APRN’s participation.

To overcome the challenges, nursing curriculum should address the lapse by including leadership and policy implementation/review into their programs. Nurses should also change their views on politics by being politically active. Nurses often view politics as irrelevant and also feel indifferent about the process (Ellenbecker et al, 2017). Nursing education should include politics at all levels to help nurses in their role delivery. Nurses can also make the best use of policy review being frontline workers by providing feedbacks on healthcare interventions (Glasgow et al, 2003). This will guide the implementation of high-quality healthcare interventions and provide excellent outcomes for patients and nurses as healthcare roles are delivered.
