Financial Analysis-FM5

Total of 5 pages and 5 powerpoint slides…read below

In today’s world of healthcare, capital expenses are a common element to the financial management process. In fact, all healthcare organizations, at some point, must convert to an Electronic Health Record (EHR) system to be compatible with the rest of the world. However, this is a major capital expense that will cost many healthcare organizations millions of dollars. Purchasing an EHR system will undoubtedly require the acquisition and use of long-term assets under a capital budget.

The final assignment of your project will require you to make a recommendation to finance an EHR system, based on information from previous assignments. You will compile all the information in a proposal format, which will be addressed to the organization’s executive managers. You will create a separate presentation as an overview of your proposal.

Your organization is considering financing a 1.5 million dollar EHR system (if an EHR system not a good fit for your case, you can choose any major health information system/technology but the 1.5 million dollar reference should remain the same). Based on the financial outlook of your case/organization, make a recommendation to purchase or not purchase the system. You will need to draw on the material you have learned in throughout the class and assignments; as well as background information from your case description. Collectively, that information will serve as the foundation to support your recommendation.

Your final Financial Analysis report should be a minimum of eight (5) pages in length, excluding title and reference pages.

  • Introduction of case and financial challenges and issues; perspective of financial challenge (Introduction)
  • Report on assets and liabilities, cash flows and financial position, etc (Financial Statements).
  • Examination of financial analysis methods (Financial Analysis Methods).
  • Interpretation of financial management and capital management; influences for capital investments and decision-making (Capital Management).
  • Assessment of EHR implementation (or relevant information system) and recommendation; using supportive information from financial management assignments (Proposal)
    • Summarizes and presents a collection of financial management concepts, strategies and methods; applicable to case financial position, needs and challenges.
  • Make sure to use block letter formatting and proposal formatting guidelines. You will need to include a title page. Remember, your audience is the organization’s executive managers. Make sure to use proper audience tone.
  • Include an APA formatted reference page to include at least five (5) academic sources, such as a book or an academic scholarly journal, to support your topic. You should reference your academic sources by including at least five (5) in-text citations.

Your Presentation should be created in MS PowerPoint to include a minimum of seven (5) slides.  Be sure to discuss your project components in a concise, yet effective manner. You should highlight key points of each component of the Financial Analysis Report, leading up to your EHR recommendation outcome. Include graphical displays (such as graphs or other pictorials) to add visual interest and support of your information. Use a professional tone and keep in mind that you are presenting to the executive management team; consider their interests as stakeholders.

Presentation Outline

  • Introduction
  • Summary of financial statements
  • Summary of financial analysis methods
  • Findings of capital management influences
  • EHR recommendation outcome

God, Humanity, and Human Dignity Response 6

Week 2 Re: Topic 2 DQ 2

I hold human lives at a high value. I feel that no matter the race, background, economic status, every life is invaluable and should be cherished. Bogue stated that “God caused humans to exist and desires to be involved in every aspect of their life.” (Bogues 2020) I believe this to be true, along with humans being made in His image. Because we are all made in His image, I feel that all human lives are invaluable. Although I feel that every life is invaluable, when it comes to abortions, I am on the fence. Yes, it sounds contradictory, but if an abortion happens before 8 weeks, I feel it is less of a loss than if the abortion was at 12 or 18 weeks. Due to many women having miscarriages before 12 weeks, this statistic makes my stance on the topic ”less harsh.” Tommys.org states that “an estimated 1 in 4 pregnancies will end in miscarriages. (2020). With statistics like this, how would you know if the fetus would have reached viability? As a mother, abortion is such a hard topic to come to terms with, but I know there are many reasons why women choose abortions, and I truly feel it is her body and her right to make the decision.

Designer babies are described as “either created from an embryo selected by preimplantation genetic diagnosis (PGD) or genetically modified in order to influence the traits of the resulting children. The primary aim of creating designer babies is to avoid their having heritable diseases coded by mutations in DNA.” (Pang 2016) I understand the reasoning for wanting to avoid having a child who inherits a disease like cystic fibrosis and β-thalassemia, but how do we know that eliminating certain genes will not cause other problems down the line? I feel the DNA and genetic makeup we are born with, is what God chose to give us, and sadly others have a harder life than some due to their genetic makeup. I am not for designer babies and do not feel the benefits will outweigh the possible negative outcomes in the future.

Stem cell research is another form of research and science that I do not agree with. Who really knows how the stem cells are retrieved, and it is know that many, if not all are taken from human embryos. Due to humans going to drastic measures to prove various things in science and life, I do not feel scientist are taking the ethical route 100% of the time when it comes to stem cell research, so I cannot condone it. The thought of testing on a unborn baby who does not have the consent to be used in research is not ok. This topic reminds me of African Americans being used as test subjects against their will for many years, all for research.

dominant policing style

Your company is considering a decision of relocating to another country. You have been given the job of researching different alternatives for relocation. Your report will help the board decide where to relocate, and will help the employees know what to expect in a new country.

The company is considering Costa Rica, Saudi Arabia, and Germany. Your task is to review the legal system and policing style in these countries and produce a 3- to 4-page report in a Microsoft Word document addressing the following:

What is the dominant policing style of each country?

How do the police in each country deal with issues of human rights? Are there any protections in place for the citizens?

Do the countries face any terrorism issues? Would a US company be at risk?

Are there any activities that are legal in the United States but are illegal in the other countries?

If an employee (or the company) were to be prosecuted for a crime, what kind of trial system (adversarial or inquisitorial) would be in effect?

After reviewing the three countries, conclude your report by explaining:

Which country’s police and legal systems seem to most closely resemble the systems of the United States?

Which country would you recommend the company to choose? Why?

You may choose to address each of the above-mentioned points for all the three countries or review each country separately. The Central Intelligence Agency’s World Factbook is a good starting place for information on other countries.

Support your responses with examples.

Forum

Watch video:  https://youtu.be/Rz8ge4aw8Ws

This video conjures many emotions, both as a nurse and a moral human being. Most of us entered/will enter the profession of nursing in response to a calling to care for our fellow human beings. For many of us, we believe with an urgent commitment that nursing is who we are, not simply what we do. We are guided by a moral compass that sets our life course based on knowing right from wrong, good from evil.
While it is impossible for us to understand how the nurses in the concentration camps could be complicit in their role as ‘doers’ of euthanasia, it is curious how many of them came to believe that killing was a legitimate part of their caring role. These thoughts beg many questions, the answers for which will be reflective of your own beliefs and values system. Answer the following in your Forum post:

Do you think these nurses were complicit from the beginning, or did they slowly become involved over time until it became easier to cross the line? Once they did cross the line, how might a sense of power have overtaken their moral judgment? Perhaps they were indoctrinated to believe that the health of the public at large was more important than the health of the individual; yet how could they justify their actions to exploit the few for the benefit of the many? Were they simply following orders? Were they motivated by the thought of losing their job, or maybe even their life, if they refused? Could they have truly believed that they were simply relieving these children of their suffering and in so doing were being merciful in their actions?

In the context of your own nursing practice, why is this reflection activity important? Think about your own vulnerability to outside pressures and influences—would you speak up today if your moral position was threatened? Why or why not? Consider this from a position of power that you may or may not have. In today’s challenging healthcare environment, why is it important that we not only understand our moral position but that we also monitor our own response and the response of others?

Deliverable 3 – Importance of Customer Service

Assignment Content

  1. Competency
Apply customer service skills before, during and after a sale.

    Student Success Criteria
View the grading rubric for this deliverable by selecting the “This item is graded with a rubric” link, which is located in the Details & Information pane.

    Scenario
You are the regional sales manager for International Herb Express (IHE) which is a large, US-based spice & herbs supplier. IHE sells to other businesses that purchase bulk spices and spice blends for use in their end products. The primary customers are baking and soup mix corporations that sell to other businesses, for example, bakeries, restaurants, other food-service, and regional grocery chains. IHE is launching a new spice blend that reflects a more diverse cultural & ethnic flavor profile than IHE’s traditional offerings.
The abridged marketing strategy for this new spice blend is to target both current customers, but also to reach new customers that are target regions with higher ethnic diversity and/or the more adventurous “foodies” market. The marketing efforts will focus on taste testing, sampling, and on-site promotion. IHE is launching this marketing plan to help create a product offering that is not as commodity-driven (as most spices and herbs are the same quality no matter where they are purchased) and can potentially offer higher profit margins.
It is important to note that spices and other ingredients are raw goods and traded as commodities. The raw price for these goods changes on a day-to-day basis. Pricing is based on classic supply and demand, though nature is a key contributor to the supply–extreme weather as well as health of crops have a direct impact on the supply chain and access to the raw goods.

    Instructions
As the regional sales manager, you are part of the Customer Service Task Force for IHE. During a monthly meeting, you became aware of a reoccurring challenge the customer service team is experiencing. When current or potential customers contact customer service to inquire about the new ‘spice blend,’ the customer service team cannot answer basic questions or offer a level of service that your sales force often promotes in their communications with buyers. This occurs via telephone and email inquiries as well as when potential clients use your website and social media pages as a point of engagement.
In particular, the customer service team is unable to utilize the training that they have had on handling inquires such as these since the product offering is new and more complex than your day-to-day product offerings.
You need to prepare a training manual that focuses on the new product offering. The training manual will need to include:

    • Introduction to build the value of the customer service team supporting the company’s sales efforts
    • Key customer service skills and areas of expertise needed to be effective
    • Establish a process to guide a customer service team to share basic sales information with customers/potential customers
    • A recommendation to utilize customer service technology to enhance the experience for potential customers. (You can assume that the customer service teams have access to technologies such as a CRM package, social media accounts, website FAQ’s, etc.)
    • Please note any details not noted above can be created by the student, but must be consistent with acceptable and common business scenarios.

Monologue

By definition, a monologue is a composition that gives the discourse of one speaker.  It represents what someone might speak aloud in a situation in which there are listeners although the listeners do not speak.

Choose one of these stories to write a monologue, including background of the author.

Research the author’s background and relate in two or three paragraphs how his or her writings were meant to affect society. This should go at the top of the page, then the monologue.

Be sure to include a Works Cited at the bottom of the monologue; you will not need an outline.

Compose a one-page monologue. It should illustrate personality traits and guiding values of a character in the story in a creative fashion.

The Story of an Hour

by Kate Chopin

Knowing that Mrs. Mallard was afflicted with a heart trouble, great care was taken to break to her as gently as possible the news of her husband’s death.

It was her sister Josephine who told her, in broken sentences; veiled hints that revealed in half concealing. Her husband’s friend Richards was there, too, near her. It was he who had been in the newspaper office when intelligence of the railroad disaster was received, with Brently Mallard’s name leading the list of “killed.” He had only taken the time to assure himself of its truth by a second telegram, and had hastened to forestall any less careful, less tender friend in bearing the sad message.

She did not hear the story as many women have heard the same, with a paralyzed inability to accept its significance. She wept at once, with sudden, wild abandonment, in her sister’s arms. When the storm of grief had spent itself she went away to her room alone. She would have no one follow her.

There stood, facing the open window, a comfortable, roomy armchair. Into this she sank, pressed down by a physical exhaustion that haunted her body and seemed to reach into her soul.

She could see in the open square before her house the tops of trees that were all aquiver with the new spring life. The delicious breath of rain was in the air. In the street below a peddler was crying his wares. The notes of a distant song which some one was singing reached her faintly, and countless sparrows were twittering in the eaves.

There were patches of blue sky showing here and there through the clouds that had met and piled one above the other in the west facing her window.

She sat with her head thrown back upon the cushion of the chair, quite motionless, except when a sob came up into her throat and shook her, as a child who has cried itself to sleep continues to sob in its dreams.

She was young, with a fair, calm face, whose lines bespoke repression and even a certain strength. But now there was a dull stare in her eyes, whose gaze was fixed away off yonder on one of those patches of blue sky. It was not a glance of reflection, but rather indicated a suspension of intelligent thought.

There was something coming to her and she was waiting for it, fearfully. What was it? She did not know; it was too subtle and elusive to name. But she felt it, creeping out of the sky, reaching toward her through the sounds, the scents, the color that filled the air.

Now her bosom rose and fell tumultuously. She was beginning to recognize this thing that was approaching to possess her, and she was striving to beat it back with her will—as powerless as her two white slender hands would have been.

When she abandoned herself a little whispered word escaped her slightly parted lips. She said it over and over under her breath: “free, free, free!” The vacant stare and the look of terror that had followed it went from her eyes. They stayed keen and bright. Her pulses beat fast, and the coursing blood warmed and relaxed every inch of her body.

She did not stop to ask if it were or were not a monstrous joy that held her. A clear and exalted perception enabled her to dismiss the suggestion as trivial.

She knew that she would weep again when she saw the kind, tender hands folded in death; the face that had never looked save with love upon her, fixed and gray and dead. But she saw beyond that bitter moment a long procession of years to come that would belong to her absolutely. And she opened and spread her arms out to them in welcome.

There would be no one to live for her during those coming years; she would live for herself. There would be no powerful will bending hers in that blind persistence with which men and women believe they have a right to impose a private will upon a fellow- creature. A kind intention or a cruel intention make the act seem no less a crime as she looked upon it in that brief moment of illumination.

And yet she had loved him—sometimes. Often she had not. What did it matter! What could love, the unsolved mystery, count for in face of this possession of self-assertion which she suddenly recognized as the strongest impulse of her being!

“Free! Body and soul free!” she kept whispering.

Josephine was kneeling before the closed door with her lips to the keyhole, imploring for admission. “Louise, open the door! I beg; open the door—you will make yourself ill. What are you doing, Louise? For heaven’s sake open the door.”

“Go away. I am not making myself ill.” No; she was drinking in a very elixir of life through that open window.

Her fancy was running riot along those days ahead of her. Spring days, and summer days, and all sorts of days that would be her own. She breathed a quick prayer that life might be long. It was only yesterday she had thought with a shudder that life might be long.

She arose at length and opened the door to her sister’s importunities. There was a feverish triumph in her eyes, and she carried herself unwittingly like a goddess of Victory. She clasped her sister’s waist, and together they descended the stairs. Richards stood waiting for them at the bottom.

Some one was opening the front door with a latchkey. It was Brently Mallard who entered, a little travel-stained, composedly carrying his grip-sack and umbrella. He had been far from the scene of accident, and did not even know there had been one. He stood amazed at Josephine’s piercing cry; at Richards’ quick motion to screen him from the view of his wife.

But Richards was too late.

When the doctors came they said she had died of heart disease—of joy that kills.
