Once you choose which question you’d like to write about, write your essay and post it in the discussion board and also save it as a Word document.

To create your post, click the blue Create Thread button. To be able to read and respond to others’ posts, you will first need to publish your own post. Your first post is the one that will be graded–a blank post WILL be graded if it is your first post in the board. You can save your post as a draft, but it will not be published for students to view, nor will it be queued for grading until you click the Submit button.

When you refresh the board, after you publish your post, it will allow you to view everyone’s posts. If you hover your cursor at the bottom of a post, the button to reply to that student’s post will appear.

Use your course texts to help you respond to the topic, and when you quote and summarize from the course texts, include information about the page reference.

You are discouraged from using additional sources. If you do choose to use an outside source, be sure to cite your source, just as you do when you use the course texts. If you use a quotation or an example from a website, cite the website’s url and the date accessed.

Once you are ready for your classmates to read it, post the thread containing your essay. Then go to the TurnItIn dropbox section here in Blackboard and post your Word document into the dropbox. You do not need to include your response to another student in the file that you upload to TurnItIn.

Finally, read your classmates’ posts. A complete assignment includes your written response to at least one essay besides your own–part of your score is based on your reply to at least one of your classmate’s posts. It should be a meaningful reply that continues the discussion, points out something good about the post, and makes a constructive suggestion for improvement.

Topics for your Essay, Choose A or B

Essay Length tips–To answer these topics completely, it takes about 2 pages—8-10 paragraphs. Use the topic questions and the scoring rubric to see if your draft responds fully to all parts of the question. A complete thoughtful answer is more important than word count.

Topic A

What is Martin Gardner’s argument for the objectivist view of art? Do you agree? Why or why not?

Use Vaughn’s textbook to help you explain Gardner’s theory and its strengths and weaknesses. Choose an object, performance, or piece of writing as an example, and explain whether Gardner’s theory would classify the object as Art. Do you agree with objectivism about Art or do you find another theory more convincing? Defend your point of view.

Topic B

Explain Locke’s view of human nature. Use details from the textbook to support your description. Explain Hobbes’s view of human nature, again using details from the textbook to support your description. How do Locke’s view of human nature and Hobbes’ view differ? Which do you think is more accurate? Explain, and defend your answer.

Week 3COLLAPSE

Toll roads are a very convenient way to go “express” and avoid the headaches of in town commuting but there is usually a direct cost to be dealt with called a toll. These alternative pathways have become common in most highly traveled areas. A great example of streamlined traveling is the Pennsylvania Turnpike, no stop signs, no speed limits, at first.   In 1940 this roadway was opened and has been used as a model in building these super highways ever since. Originally the toll was supposed to be charged for about a decade just to pay for the work but money has been collected ever since. A current study claims that to travel this road in its entirety you would pay about $112.00 in tolls (DiMattia 3, 2021).

It just so happens that this roadway is the most expensive toll road in the world which might make it EXCLUDABLE for some, for that reason. The terrain in the Allegheny mountains is formidable so most people just have to accept the cost which increases on a regular basis. Currently the turnpike commission is about 10 billion dollars in debt and money is being allocated to the department of transpotation for other projects (Klibanoff 10, 2015). 

The ECONOMIC PROFIT where the tolls recieved vs the cost to maintain have always been questioned. The commission has always been under scrutiny for what many believe is corruption and misuse of these funds recieved through tolls.  This turnpike can become almost fully automated which has replaced about 500 toll booth agents. The EZ pass travelers have it better than those who have their plate photographed.so the latter case is paying a much higher amount due to billing and collection costs (DiMattia 3, 2021).

There are as many alternatives to charging a toll point blank, as you might imagine. State sales taxes and fuel tax hikes are one way. One state showed their guile by sneaking in funds from the cigarette taxes. In my opinion, the

money for new roads and maintinence could come in any form but we will pay by toll for the convenience, or pay through our taxes.

In this discussion, you will choose one eating disorder and analyze the treatment options available for that disorder as well as the rationale for their use based on the current understanding of the biological aspects of these conditions. Chapters 9 and 10 in your text analyze topics on neurotransmitters, receptors, and neurotransmitter systems, their role in feeding behaviors and satiety, and the impact of the pathology of selected eating disorders. The “Psychological Treatment of Eating Disorders (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site.”, article and the Nutrition and Eating Disorders video expand upon these topics to assist your integration of these concepts as applied to neuropsychological function and dysfunction. Include information on brain structures, nervous system pathways, neurotransmitters/receptors, and psychological, genetic, familial, lifestyle, and environmental factors when analyzing the etiologic theories. Additional emphasis should be placed on relating the proposed etiologic mechanism(s) of the disorder and the recommended treatment(s), as well as providing rationale(s) for treatment success or failure.  Include treatments that are based on psychological, medical, pharmacologic (drug), and other available interventions.

You must use a minimum of one peer-reviewed source that was published within the last five years, documented in APA style, as outlined in the Ashford Writing Center.  Your post should be a minimum of 250 words. Week 2 Project

This week you will turn in a draft of your “Personal Philosophy and Theoretical Concepts” paper. Your paper should contain the following sections:

• Nursing Autobiography: A brief (1 page) discussion of your background in nursing. This does not include future goals.
• The Four Metaparadigms:Describe what the literature says about the basic four metaparadigms/concepts of patient, nurse, health, and environment. Do not relate the metaparadigms to the theory you have chosen.
• Briefly describe the theory you have chosen.
• Two Practice-Specific Concepts:in separate subsections discuss each of your two concepts:What is the definition of the concept (outside of the theory)?How does your theorist define your concept?How does this concept apply to your clinical setting? Give an example of how nurses in your area provide care that correlates with the theorist’s definition of the concept.

You MUST use the attached template here to complete your paper.The paper is to be thoroughly researched and well documented, with relevant material from the nursing theorists presented incorporated into the paper. Use the current edition of the APA Manual throughout the paper. Sources should focus on references from nursing theory but may also include conceptual and theoretical material from other professional domains. The paper, excluding references or appendices, is to be limited to 3-5 pages. Writing should be succinct and well organized, as it is impossible for the facilitator to evaluate form and content separately.

Remember to change your theorist – you cannot have the same theorist as your group project

Remember the first and second page titles have to match exactly

You have to cite your theory every time you mention it, and use the theorist preferably in the citation 

Review the use of et al – you are not using it correctly much of the time

Remember you need a page number in a citation too for a direct word for word quote 

Read the paper carefully – I see a lot of typos and sentences that do not make sense

Add more citations to your definitions of metaparadigms

You cannot use the same concepts as the metaparadigms since you have already defined them previously in the paper.  

Review correct style for references in APA format – you are not always following it.

System Analysis and Design

You have to select a topic to perform research, plan and design a business information system during the first week of this course. Please refer to Week One of this Course Guide for some suggested example of this topic.

Focus of the Final Paper
Construct a system analysis paper based on your weekly presentations. Please note this is an individual paper. The paper should represent the research and recommendations you have performed for the proposed business information system over the previous four weeks in a cohesive format. Your paper should demonstrate critical thought. The paper should be 2400 to 3000 words, excluding the title, diagrams, and reference pages. The structure of the paper should be as follows: 

• Cover Page
  • Title of paper
  • Student’s name
  • Course name and number
  • Instructor’s name
  • Date submitted
• Introduction 
  The introduction should familiarize the reader with the proposed business information system and outline the major points that you will cover in the paper. It should include your thesis statement. If you need assistance with writing a thesis statement, visit the Ashford Writing Center’s website for help.
• Body
  Make the suggested changes to the PowerPoint assignments for Weeks One through Four based on the constructive feedback provided by your instructor. Do not simply copy and paste your previous assignments into your final paper. Read your writing and improve upon what you have already written to connect everything learned in this class. Be sure that your paper addresses the following points.
  • System Overview
    • Provide a brief overview of the proposed business information system and describe
      • What it would accomplish for the business organization
      • Who are the stakeholders in the proposed business information system
      • What are the business information system requirements
      • How the requirements are elicited, analyzed, documented, reviewed and confirmed
      • How would the business analyst ensure the business information system or solution satisfied all stakeholder requirements.
    • Explain which of the potential approaches to system development (computer-aided software engineering (CASE) tools, joint application design (JAD), rapid application development (RAD), participatory design (PD), or the use of Agile Methodologies should be considered for the proposed business information system design. Support your explanation with examples from your own experiences and/or from any scholarly journal citations.
    • Briefly discuss what each stage of the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) approach would accomplish in your proposed business information system.
  • Requirements Determination
    • Discuss the types of documents that would be useful to analyze for requirements gathering purposes and why they would be important. Additionally, discuss which documents would be possible to obtain as well as which ones would be difficult to obtain (think about the records and knowledge keeping within the organization, some information resides in specific documents while some is scattered throughout the organization).
    • Create a questionnaire that includes at least ten well-written questions that you can use for information gathering.
      • Explain your rationale for the style in which you wrote the questions.
    • Identify which modern requirements determination methods (Joint Application Design and/or Prototyping) would be appropriate for this business information system and explain why you think they would be suitable.
    • Using your proposed business information system scenario, discuss at least one example of each of the nine system characteristics:
      • What are the Components and Interrelated Components in the proposed business information system,
      • What would be the Boundary of the proposed business information system,
      • What is the Purpose of the proposed business information system,
      • What is the Environment of the proposed business information system,

      • What are the Inputs and Outputs to the proposed business information system
  • Scope and Feasibility
    • Explain the proposed business information system’s scope. Please refer to Table 4-3 in the text
    • Develop a business information system plan. Please refer to Table 4-4 in the text.
    • Assess the business information system’s feasibility from the system analyst’s perspective by using the six categories of feasibility factors (economic, operational, technical, schedule, legal and contractual, and political feasibility) outlined in the text (pp. 90-98)
    • Develop a Project Scope Statement for the proposed business information system, refer to Figure 4-12 in the text. Include the following categories in the statement:
      • General Project Information,
      • Problem/Opportunity Statement,
      • Project Objectives,
      • Project Description,
      • Business Benefits,
      • Project Deliverables, and
      • Estimated Project Duration.
  • Diagrams
    • Develop a context-level data-flow diagram for the proposed system (use Fig. 6-5 in the text as a guide). You can use Microsoft PowerPoint to develop the data flow diagrams.
    • Develop a level-0 diagram for the proposed system (use Fig. 6-6 in the text as a guide).
    • Using the level-0 diagram that you previously constructed, select one of the level-0 processes and prepare a level-1 diagram (use Fig. 6-8 in the text as a guide).
  • Data Modeling
    • For the proposed business information system and the data flow diagrams developed previously, consider potential customer transactions. Provide a list of all the entities (like supplier, customer, etc.) for which system will need to store information.
    • Identify a set of attributes for each entity listed above (like customer name, supplier phone). See pp. 197-199 in the text.
    • Specify an identifier (like employee ID, supplier phone, etc.) for each entity and explain the rules you applied when you selected the identifier. See pp. 199-201 in the text.
    • Develop an entity-relationship diagram for entity relationships. Be sure to specify the cardinalities for each relationship (use Fig. 7-10 in the text as a guide). Remember, cardinality of a relationship is the number of instances of an entity that can be associated with each instance of another entity.
  • User Training and Maintenance
    • For a business analyst, it is also important to plan for training of all users of the system and develop a maintenance plan for the life of the system (use Table 10-5, and 10-6 in the text as a guide). Provide a brief suggested plan for user training.
    • For the proposed business information system, provide a brief plan for maintenance of the system (use Table 10-7 in the text as a guide).
    • To ensure readability, supply headings for each section of the body. 
• Conclusion
  In your conclusion, restate your thesis statement. Review your conclusions. Include any ideas you have about the business information system that you did not already discuss.
• References
  Provide an APA-formatted reference list. In addition to the text, cite at least four additional scholarly references from the Ashford library to support your discussion. 

The Final Paper
