Beefsteak: Reinforcing Culture Through Human Capital Development Case Study—Recruiting and Selecting

-Review Chapters 1, 11, 12 and 13 in your Applied Psychology in Talent Management text. (**These chapters are attached below as one document and cited at the beginning of the document*****)

Beefsteak is a fast-casual restaurant concept from acclaimed Chef José Andrés that focuses on the “unsung power of vegetables.” José Andrés is a world-renowned chef and owner of a number of restaurants. He was nominated for the 2019 Nobel Peace Prize for his work with disaster relief through his non-profit organization World Central Kitchen. Andrés’s mission is to change the world through the power of food.

For this assignment, you will be developing a recruiting and a selection strategy for Beefsteak to include both managerial and staff positions. You will want to think through the three sequential stages of recruiting found in Chapter 11 of the course textbook:

  1. Sourcing: process of generating a pool of applicants.
  2. Assessing: evaluation of knowledge, skills, and abilities, and other characteristics necessary to perform a job.
  3. Employing: process of moving the desired candidate into employment

First, consider and discuss the importance of Beefsteak having a positive organizational image and brand, and the impact on recruitment. Take into consideration the importance of recruiting for diversity. Next, you will need to develop a selection process, starting with the application, recommendations, employment testing, past experience, drug screening, computer-based screening, and interviewing. Be sure to consider both managerial and staffing positions for both the recruiting and selection strategies.

In this paper,

  • Analyze Beefsteak’s company profile and business model.
  • Construct a recruiting strategy using the three-sequential stages.
  • Discuss the benefits of diversity in recruiting, Beefsteak’s brand, contemporary human capital topics, and predictive analysis.
  • Create a selection strategy for both managerial and staff positions.

14 hours agoCallie O’Brien Unit 2 DiscussionCOLLAPSEI hypothesize that a majority of Ruben’s challenging behavior functions to gain attention. From the data the the teacher and instructional assistant took it appears that most of his challenging behaviors occur when he is not getting attention from his peers or from instructors ( Chandler & Dahlquist, 2014). An example of this would be when he removes the book from the teacher ( Chandler & Dahlquist, 2014 ). When Ruben is actively participating in an activity with peers or instructors he does not exhibit disruptive behaviors, for example when he is passing out materials ( Chandler & Dahlquist, 2014 ). Ruben is unable to communicate his wants and needs effectively. I believe that his behavior for attention is his current way of communicating. This is not the only function for all of his behaviors. They sometimes function under escape or access. When given a demand and then is made to follow through he hits and reacts when items are denied to him (Chandler & Dahlquist, 2014). Because there are multiple functions controlling different behaviors I would want to ask the intructors most commonly see as far as behaviors. I would also like to know if these behaviors occur every day during the same activities or not. I would want more data then what is given. I am also curious what they classify as disruptive behavior.

Leadership Personnel Issues and the Rules of Law

Leadership Personnel Issues and the Rules of Law

For this assignment, keep in mind that for law enforcement agencies to be successful in the future, it is more important than ever for municipalities and departments to identify, recruit, and employ a well-trained and professional police force. From making arrests, to using proper force, to understanding technological devices, to dealing with individuals with mental issues, police officers are increasingly performing many different roles. 2. Identify the skills that need to be imparted upon recruits during their training in order for them to be successful in all roles of law enforcement. What additional training and/or changes would you recommend?
  3. Identify how police academies are preparing police recruits for the various duties and assignments that they will be responsible for in turbulent and changing conditions.
  4. Identify five constraints placed on police officers and examine how these constraints affect how officers conduct their operations and perform their duties.
  5. Identify best practices used by police supervisors to ensure that officers are performing professionally and within department guidelines. Also identify best practices utilized by supervisors when officers are found to be in violation of their oath, training, and organizational rules.

preoritizing care

Due  to limited resources, one thing we have seen during the coronavirus  pandemic is that doctors in some countries have had to decide who  receives care and who does not. In other countries, like our own,  doctors reported being told to prepare for this inevitability.

There  are guidelines in the medical community on prioritizing patients when  rationing care. These depend largely on who is most likely to survive,  especially when it comes to who gets a ventilator. However, it is not  always easy to make that call. Also, when hospitals are overwhelmed with  patients, there may be several who show relatively equal chances of  survival. How should the decision be made then?

Here  is an article by Dr. Robert Klitzman who says that now is the time to  start the discussion about how to prioritize some patients over others:

How hospitals will decide who lives and who dies in the COVID-19 crisis

Not  everyone agrees that this discussion should take place, though. Dr.  Morhaf Al Achkar argues that there should be no policy that would  normalize prioritizing one life over another or that could be used to  justify making this seem OK. Here is his article:

Deciding who lives and who dies

For this assignment, read both articles carefully then answer the following in a short essay:

1. What is the main claim made in the article written by Dr. Klitzman?

2. What are three criteria that Dr. Klitzman thinks should be used to prioritize some patients over others when rationing care?

3. How does Dr. Klitzman think these decisions should be made and by whom? Why?

4. What is the main claim in the article written by Dr. Al Achkar?

5.  What are three reasons that Dr. Al Achkar gives for why we should not  write a policy about prioritizing some patients over others?

6. Do you agree more with Dr. Klitzman or Dr. Al Achkar? Explain your answer.
