Technical Support Engineer Assessment

Please complete these exercises independently to the best of your ability.

1. Imagine that you are a Technical Support Engineer at Dropbox, responding to an actual customer.

Customer: “I’m interested in Dropbox, could you tell me more? I want to understand how I can leverage your HelloSign product to automate my signing workflow?”

2. HelloWorks Rental Application

You will be using HelloWorks to create a simple rental application. (Sign up for a free account at helloworks.com.) You will need to collect the following information from the prospective tenant:

– Name

– Phone number

– Email Address

– Current Address

– Social security number

– You will also need to have them sign and date the application.

Since you will be using this form for many tenants, you will want to pre-fill some fields each time before you send it to a new tenant.  HelloWorks provides simple functionality to do this. Specifically, you will want to include these two fields on your form and make them fillable with unique data each time you send the form for signature:

– Landlord name

– Property address

3. HelloWorks Rental Application update

The rental agency you are working with has decided to allow a small dog in rental units. Please add two questions: a) Does the prospective tenant have a dog? and 2) A multiple choice dropdown for the dog’s weight with the following options: 5-10 lbs, 11-20, 21-30, 31-40 and over 40lbs.

If the tenant answers that they have a dog and the dog is any choice under 40 pounds, show them the following text: “A pet deposit of $250 will be added to the security deposit.” Otherwise, show them the message “Sorry, dogs over 40 pounds are not allowed at this time.”

I am not sure if you will be able to send me this directly from the Helloword software for submission. Please provide me detailed steps and screenshots for the rental application questions.

BI101 Unit 1 Discussion Post 1

The purpose of this Discussion topic is to not only introduce you to the concepts of Chemical Bonding, but to also ensure that you understand the proper use of resource material in order to avoid Plagiarism. In this class you will be exposed to new concepts and terms, which means you will need to use books and websites to formulate your answers. According to Park University:

“Plagiarism involves the use of quotations without quotation marks, the use of quotations without indication of the source, the use of another’s idea without acknowledging the source, the submission of a paper, laboratory report, project, or class assignment (any portion of such) prepared by another person, or incorrect paraphrasing.”

You can download a “Required Reference Formatting” Guide from herePreview the document to give you some help on knowing how I like you to reference discussion assignments and homework responses.

Based on the above information and the course policies outlined in our Syllabus, review the information below and address the questions asked. You will need to read the material carefully and compare it to the source from which it was derived.

According to our book, a chemical bond is an attraction between two atoms resulting from the sharing of outer-shell electrons or the presence of opposite charges on the atoms. The bonded atoms gain complete outer electron shells. There are three main types of chemical bonds, ionic, covalent and hydrogen.

An ionic bond is “a type of chemical bond formed through an electrostatic attraction between two oppositely charged ions. Ionic bonds are formed due to the attraction between an atom that has lost one or more electron (known as a cation) and an atom that has gained one or more electrons (known as an anion). Usually, the cation is a metal atom and the anion is a nonmetal atom.” (Wikipedia)

A covalent bond is a bond that consists of the use of the same electron pairs between atoms. The balance of repulsive and attractive forces among atoms when they both use these electrons is called covalent bonding. For several molecules, these shared electrons permit each atom to get a full outer shell, related to a constant electron configuration. (Wikipedia)

Hydrogen bonds can form when electrons in a covalent bond are unequally shared (= polar covalent bond), such as in a molecule of water. In this case, the oxygen atom holds on to the electrons more than the hydrogen atoms, causing the oxygen atom to become slightly negatively charged and the hydrogen atoms to be slightly positively charge. This results in the attraction between a hydrogen atom in one water molecule and an oxygen atom in a neighboring water molecule; this attraction is called a hydrogen bond (Simon, Dickey and Reece 2013, p 28).

  1. Evaluate each of the four paragraphs. Do any of them constitute plagiarism according to Park University? If so, why (be specific) and how could you correct the information so that the resource has been used correctly?
  2. Aside from the issue of plagiarism, based on our course policies, has the information above been used correctly?
  3. Demonstrate your understanding of chemical bonds by finding and explaining an example of a molecule that contains a covalent bond, one that contains an ionic bond, and one that can form hydrogen bonds. Do NOT use water, ammonia or sodium chloride! However, the examples you use here may be the same as the ones you use in your Unit 1 Homework.

UNIT 4 PROJECT FINAICAL MANAGEMENT

Your neighborhood Laundromat is for sale and a friend is considering investing in this business. Your friend has asked for your financial advice regarding this endeavor.

For the business alone and no other assets (such as the building and land), the purchase price is $250,000. The net cash flows for the project are $30,000 per year for the next 5 years. The plan is to borrow the money for this investment at 5%.

You will need to submit a presentation sharing your recommendation. You will need to address the following questions:

  • What is the net present value of this project? Use the calculations covered in this week’s Video to calculate the net present value.
  • Calculate the simple payback period for this project. Your desired payback period is 5 years. How long is the payback period for this project?
  • How would you evaluate this investment? What would be a good price at which to purchase this business?

Prepare the calculations to determine if the Laundromat is a good investment. In a 15 slide presentation, show your calculations and recommendations on whether to purchase the Laundromat. Be sure to address the questions above in the presentation.

Submitting your assignment in APA format means, at a minimum, you will need the following:

  • Title slide: Remember the running head. The title should be in all capitals.
  • Length: 15 slides minimum
  • Body slides: This begins on the slide following the title slide and must be double-spaced (be careful not to triple- or quadruple-space between paragraphs). The typeface should be 12-pt. Times Roman or 12-pt. Courier in regular black type. Do not use color, bold type, or italics, except as required for APA-level headings and references. The deliverable length of the body of your presentation for this assignment is 15 slides. In-body academic citations to support your decisions and analysis are required. A variety of academic sources is encouraged.
  • Reference slide: References that align with your in-body academic sources are listed on the final slide of your presentation. The references must be in APA format using appropriate spacing, hanging indent, italics, and uppercase and lowercase usage as appropriate for the type of resource used. Learning Activity:  due 11:59 pm ET, Saturday

Background:  Contracts are essential for business and will be an integral part of Clean-N-Shine (“Clean”) operations, so the owners now want to focus on contract law.   Each of the owners has experience with contracts in their businesses and appreciate the probable risks and liabilities associated with contracts.   They also know that to avoid possible disputes with employees and clients, contracts should be comprehensive, clear, and specific.

The Clean owners know that there are various types of contract agreements relevant to their business.  Clean will have individual contracts with employees, independent contractors, and other agents who will represent the company.  Also, Clean will engage in sales contracts with other businesses, consumers, and clients.

To reduce disputes and risks and liabilities associated with contracts, the owners want all contracts to be written, with specific, complete, and unambiguous terms.  Contracts must define the rights and responsibilities of the parties.  Also, since employees and independent contractors will be performing cleaning services on clients’ properties, these contracts should require bonding for all employees.

You, Winnie, and Ralph presented draft contracts for Clean’s employees, including different contracts for cleaners, office managers, marketing specialists, sales representatives, and IT employees.

The Clean owners reviewed the drafts and have some questions about the contracts.

Background Facts You Need to Know:  At Winnie’s and Ralph’s request, it is your responsibility to research an provide answers to the Clean owners’ questions. As an example, Winnie, Ralph, the Clean owners, and you have determined that Clean’s contract with its cleaner- employees will include the following terms and conditions:

  • specific duties to be performed by cleaner-employee
  • salary for cleaner-employee
  • work hours
  • terms of payment for overtime or holiday work, if any
  • sick leave
  • vacation leave
  • training requirements for cleaner-employee
  • length of contract
  • bonding for cleaner-employee
  • periodic performance evaluation and how it will be conducted
  • termination of the contract, i.e., a notice of termination, etc.

Instructions

This is an application-oriented Learning Activity.  You will not find verbatim answers anywhere.  Engage in critical thinking and review all this week’s assigned readings in Overview.  You may also need to review previously assigned materials in weeks 2 and 3.

Report You Need to Prepare:  To begin developing a contract between Clean and its cleaning clients, prepare a report that addresses the following (note that this is for a contract with Cleans clients and not Clean’s employees).

1.  Identify five contract terms and conditions – other than price – that should be included in the Clean contract with its cleaning clients.

2.  Analyze and briefly discuss why each term is important to include in a Clean-client cleaning contract.

Tips for Formatting Report: The report should use the following format

Applying Theories to Regional-Level Challenges

In the roles of social change agent, leader, and advocate, human services professionals have many responsibilities. At the regional level, multiple or missing standards, guidelines, laws, and regulations may pose challenges to human services professions. As a human services professional, you should be aware not only of your responsibilities, but also of any regional-level challenges you may encounter when attempting to fulfill your responsibilities.

To prepare:

  • Select a regional-level challenge related to human and social services professions and/or the roles and responsibilities of human and social services professionals. This should be a challenge you or the human services profession might face when attempting to address issues at the regional level, such as funding or available resources. Regional may include but is not limited to your local community, geographical zone, county, state/province, or surrounding locality.
  • Then, think about why addressing the challenge is important to the profession, as well as what difference the challenge’s resolution or improvement might make.

With these thoughts in mind:

Post the name of your region, as well as a brief description of the challenge you selected. Explain why addressing this challenge is important to the profession and what difference its resolution or improvement might make. Explain how you might apply change, leadership, and/or advocacy theories and processes to address the challenge. Describe the ethical challenges that might come into play when attempting to address the challenges. Be specific, and provide examples to illustrate your points.
