Scenario

You are the risk manager for a local community hospital. You have just attended a Joint Commission Resources conference. Part of your role is to educate employees of the organization on practical solutions and implementation tips to maintain accreditation.

The Joint Commission requires that organizations seeking accreditation provide education and training to staff on areas such as populations served, team communications, coordination of care, reporting unanticipated adverse events, fall reduction programs, and early warning signs of change in patients’ conditions.

As an independent, not-for-profit organization, the Joint Commission accredits and certifies nearly 21,000 health care organizations and programs in the United States. Joint Commission accreditation and certification is recognized nationwide as a symbol of quality that reflects an organization’s commitment to meeting certain performance standards.

Instructions

Your infographic may highlight practices that serve to mitigate risks specific to patient falls, infection control to reduce the occurrence of hospital-acquired infections, or medication safety procedures. Your infographic should address the following:

  • Design a plan to mitigate the risk associated with your chosen topic.
  • Include examples of potential risks, explain the possible root cause, and propose a preventive strategy.
  • Your infographic should incorporate figures, graphs, and/or charts.

consumer behavior

must submit an individual report in which, after careful consideration and reviewing the specific topic, they provide strategic recommendations to a company, based on consumer behavior theories and analysis, as well as identification of trends within that particular industry. The expected sections and table of contents of this report are:

• Introduction: Purpose of the project and key information for the company (no more than 300 words) • Definition of the customers and their behavior: Addressing geographic and demographic segmentation and developing psychological and behavioral aspects.

• Key considerations: Factors that affect the behavior of consumers considering the profile given in the previous definition.

 • Consumer trends: What are the current trends affecting the behavior of consumers? It is mandatory that you include updated information and references.

• Strategic recommendations: Considering the report that you have developed, and the information analyzed, recommend two strategies for the company to implement concerning consumer behavior. Make sure that they are specific, the company should know exactly what to do and how to do it; avoid using general statements or simply pointing out to strategies.

Rather, fully develop them including all pertinent details and explaining why the company should do these two actions.

Please beware that the quantity and quality of references are of the utmost relevance towards the credibility of your work, make sure you include in-text citations alongside an appropriate list of references.

Engl reading response 4 On Uncanny

Reading Response #4, on Sigmund Freud’s “Uncanny”

  • Each reading response entry should begin with a quotation from the required reading. It should be a quote of a passage that you have a question about and that interests you in some way.
  • After you’ve posted the quotation, you need to try to articulate a question that you have about that passage, and that relates to something in the reading that is of interest to you. The question should be explained over at least five sentences. This will give you the opportunity to develop your thinking about the reading in a meaningful way. Do not simple restate facts, or summarize what you’ve read or viewed. We’ve all read it and we DO NOT need you to rehash the plot, the major themes, etc… You should be engaging with this material in a way that reflects what you’re thinking about it. That’s what’s most important here.
  • Each entry should refer directly to the specific passage that you quoted from. You may want to relate this passage to another passage in the reading, or to a broader idea but the question needs to be based in the passage itself.
  • You will also be required to respond to at least one of your classmates’ reading responses. Be sure to engage in a meaningful, respectful way with their ideas. Don’t just say “I agree” or “that’s a bad idea.” Try to use your engagement as an occasion to produce new ideas.

Reading responses are graded, and in order to receive full credit, they need to reflect careful reading and thinking. Reading responses that don’t demonstrate that you’ve done the reading will not receive credit. For instance, if you write, as a question, “Why did you have us read this?” or, “What other books did this author write?” or “What does the author want to say to us?” then you won’t receive credit. Be specific, referencing the reading/viewing material and engaging with it, and you’ll do fine.

bus law IRAC

Use a newspaper, news magazine, or the internet (including articles posted on Canvas by instructor) to find a current article (if uncertain, please see the instructor to have your topic approved) related to business law to write about.  Briefly summarize your article and include some interesting facts or highlights. Lastly, and most importantly, discuss any concerns, issues, or thoughts you have about the subject matter raised in the article. This will be done by writing an IRAC (Issue, Rule, Analysis, Conclusion) about the article.

Topics for this IRAC include any one of these subjects: Torts or Agency

IRAC Basics:

Summary – write a brief summary of the article or case (no more than one (1) page.  Four things to remember when writing a summary:

  • use your words and phrases, not the author’s
  • use key points only…no minute details.
  • represent the material accurately and fairly
  • cite your source!!!!!!!!

Issue(s) – are written in the form of questions!  These issues are questions one might ask regarding how the law applies to the article you have chosen.

Rules – are the laws/rules that the writer thinks may apply to the issues.

Analysis – is where the writer either proves or disproves the application of the rules to the issue question.  This is THE major focus of the paper….critical thinking must be applied.

Conclusion – will take one of two approaches.  First, if the court has decided the case, do you agree with the decision?  Why, or why not?  If the court has yet to make a decision, what do you think needs to be done, and why. Please note that the conclusion to this paper is different than with the Mini IRAC format.

There is no minimum or limitation to the length of the paper.  The writer’s approach is to be concise, organized, and complete in the presentation of the case. If you need any further clarification of this assignment, please make an appointment to see me during office hours.

Be sure to attach the news article/court case to your essay. If the article/case is not attached a score will not be given. The attachment can be in the form of a link to a web page.

Internet Privacy

In order to complete assignment #1 you will need to answer the below questions. Please complete the questions in a Word document and then upload the assignment for grading. When assigning a name to your document please use the following format (last name_Assignment #1). Use examples from the readings, lecture notes and outside research to support your answers. The assignment must be a minimum of 1-full page in length with a minimum of 2 – outside sources. Please be sure to follow APA guidelines for citing and referencing source. Assignments are due by 11:59 pm Eastern time on Sunday.

Privacy is a concept that is rapidly evolving in relation to the most public of mediums, the Internet, which became even more super-charged with social networking websites. In a recent California election, one ballot measure, Proposition 8, asked voters a question on marriage. Donors to the Prop 8 campaign found that their names, addresses, and amount of contribution were masked up with Google Maps and thus rendered into a format showing the world a map image of donors’ names, street addresses, and dollar contributions. All this data is public record information already, but still quite inconvenient to access. What are the side effects of this action?

Respond to the discussion and answer the question in a paragraph

There are multiple different definitions of intelligence, however there is one definition by which it is typically defined. This definition states that it is the capacity of which a person can learn, process, and adapt to information in their environment. An intelligent person typically is better at problem solving, grasping concepts, focusing their attention, reasoning, and have a good working memory. Intelligence is dependent on culture, though. What is seen as intelligence in one culture may vary in another culture. For example, in the United States of America, intelligence is centered around mathematics and good grades. Intelligence in another culture might be centered around problem-solving of a different nature, such as how to direct water towards a village. (Sternberg & Sternberg, 2012)

Theory of Multiple Intelligences

Howard Gardner proposed the theory of multiple intelligences in 1983, due to not believing that intelligence was as easily defined as the definition I gave previously. He proposed that intelligence can encompass many different areas, such as existential, musical, kinesthetic, visual-spatial, interpersonal, intrapersonal, linguistic, logical, and naturalistic. Interpersonal and intrapersonal involve one’s ability to be aware of others’ emotions, behaviors, and believes and their own. (Conti, 2021)

Emotional Intelligence

I think to say that emotional intelligence is not an accurate measure of intelligence would be silly. Even by the generic definition of intelligence, a musician with musical intelligence has to be able to learn from their past experiences of playing music, process that information, and adapt it to the new musical number they are working on. The same goes for emotional intelligence. In order to accurately read people, one must be able to learn from previous experiences of similar people, process how that information is going to apply now, and adapt their abilities to interact with people. Being able to communicate effectively with other individuals is important. You could be a doctor with all of the knowledge in the world on hip replacement surgery, but if you cannot effectively communicate with the person who needs the surgery, how could you convince them to go through with it?

Metacognitive processes involve an understanding of mental strengths and weaknesses. Trying to measure cognitive processes is one approach, but understanding one’s cognitive processes is another. One way we could see is whether or not someone adopts a strategy to remember items, but this is recorded in hindsight. Are there any other ways you could see improvements made the study of metacognition in intelligence?

Assignment Details

High-performing teams are teams whose members have specific roles and complementary talents and skills and are aligned in purpose such that they consistently produce superior results. A high-performing team can make the difference between merely completing a project and completing a project ahead of schedule and under budget. Before becoming a high-performing team, the team will go through five stages of team development.

In this assignment, you are going to reflect on a recently completed project that you took part in as a member of a team. This project could have taken place in the workplace, in the classroom, or anywhere else that you were part of a group. In a 5-page analysis, you should address the following:

  • Address the development of the team in terms of both the five-stage model and the punctuated equilibrium model. Which model does a better job of describing the development of the team and how so?
  • From among the situational factors affecting team development listed in your text, which factors positively or negatively contributed to the performance of the group? How were the negative factors overcome or what could be done in the future to overcome them?
  • How well were group meetings managed? What was done particularly well and what was not done well? What specific recommendations can you provide about how groups should manage meetings on future projects?

Be sure to cite your sources using APA; include your references and in-text citations.

Use this template to complete this assignment.

Submitting your assignment in APA format means, at a minimum, you will need the following:

  • Title page: The title should be in all capitals.
  • Length: 5 pages minimum
  • Body: This begins on the page following the title page and abstract page and must be double-spaced (be careful not to triple- or quadruple-space between paragraphs). The typeface should be 12-pt. Times Roman or 12-pt. Courier in regular black type. Do not use color, bold type, or italics, except as required for APA-level headings and references. The deliverable length of the body of your paper for this assignment is 5 pages. In-body academic citations to support your decisions and analysis are required. A variety of academic sources is encouraged.
  • Reference page: References that align with your in-body academic sources are listed on the final page of your paper. The references must be in APA format using appropriate spacing, hanging indent, italics, and uppercase and lowercase usage as appropriate for the type of resource used. Remember, the Reference page is not a bibliography but a further listing of the abbreviated in-body citations used in the paper. Every referenced item must have a corresponding in-body citation.
