One challenge that can discredit the evidence is that many types of analysis rely on standard operating procedures meaning that lab reports would be repetitive and unduly consumptive of time (Houck, 2015).

One challenge that can discredit the evidence is that many types of analysis rely on standard operating procedures meaning that lab reports would be repetitive and unduly consumptive of time (Houck, 2015). Also scientists are called to testify in many situations about methods, procedures, results and conclusions concerning a particular case. If a trial occurs shortly after after the evidence was analyzed, then the scientist should be able to testify directly from memory. There are times that the trial does not occur months or years later and the lab report has to used to memorialize the evidence. The scientist needs to stay within their areas of expertise and not be tempted to answer questions or speculate an answer.

Explain the value of footprint or footwear evidence, how to preserve and photograph the evidence, and how to cast the impressions.

In 3–5 pages, excluding the title and reference pages, respond to the following questions:

  • Explain the value of footprint or footwear evidence, how to preserve and photograph the evidence, and how to cast the impressions.
  • Discuss the procedures used in the examination of firearms evidence.

Purpose To analyze own performance on the integrated comprehensive assessments and reflect on areas of opportunity and strategies to promote NCLEX-RN success and transition into practice. The student will apply the priority concept (topic) to evidence-based professional practice upon which nurses have the ability to resolve or have a positive impact. There is a focus on the healthcare disparities of the individual, as well as ethical and legal implications to professional practice. The student will discuss how an interdisciplinary approach promotes quality improvement for the patient and evidence-based professional practice, driving positive outcomes.

Preparing the assignment Follow these guidelines when completing this assignment. Speak with your faculty member if you have questions. 1) Track performance on the comprehensive assessments by logging NCLEX-RN Client Need Category performance on

the Individual Student ATI Assessment Trends: Longitudinal Performance tool. 2) Based on individual performance on the comprehensive assessments, prioritize the top concept (topic) of greatest

opportunity. 3) Include the following criteria for each identified concept (topic): The NCSBN NCLEX-RN Test Plan will support this

process (detailed criteria listed below and in the Grading Rubric must match exactly). a. Priority Concept (Topic)- 20 points/8%

• Identify the priority concept (topic) of opportunity. • Provide a description of how this aligns with the NCLEX-RN Test Plan as indicated by performance in the

Individual Student ATI Assessment Trends Table. • Identify a minimum of two learning strategies that you plan to implement to address your learning need. • Identify a minimum of two resources that you will integrate into your NCLEX-RN Readiness plan to assist you

with improving the identified learning need.

Part 3: Analyzing Evidence from Mac OS X Scenario

Part 3: Analyzing Evidence from Mac OS X Scenario

Two weeks ago, D&B Investigations was hired to conduct an incident response for a major oil company in North Dakota. The company’s senior management had reason to suspect that one or more company employees were looking to commit corporate espionage. The incident response team went on-site, began monitoring the network, and isolated several suspects. They captured forensic images from the machines the suspects used. Now, your team leader has asked you to examine a forensic image captured from a suspect’s computer, which runs the Mac OS X operating system. The suspect’s name is John Smith, and he is one of the company’s research engineers.

Tasks

· Review the information on the Mac OS X file structure provided in the chapter titled “Macintosh Forensics” in the course textbook.

· Using Paraben P2 Commander, create a case file and add the image the incident response team captured (filename: Mac OS JSmith.img).

· Sort and review the various directories within the Mac OS X image. Look for evidence or indicators that John Smith was or was not committing corporate espionage. This may include direct evidence that John Smith took corporate property, as well as indirect evidence or indicators about who the suspect is and what his activities were during work hours. You can use the software features to help you keep track of the evidence you identify, for instance, by bookmarking sections of interest and exporting files.

· Write a report in which you:

o Document your investigation methods. o Document your findings. Explain what you found that may be relevant to the case, and

provide your rationale for each item you have identified as an indicator or evidence that

John Smith was or was not committing corporate espionage. o Analyze the potential implications of these findings for the company and for a legal case.
