BACKGROUND: You will be working on the Criminal Justice Program Proposal throughout this course. This is a cumulative assignment, this is a follow up on the previous assignment.

Complete the last portion of your proposal by addressing the following maintenance and change-process elements:

• Describe communication processes among key personnel.

• Identify quality control criteria.
• Describe monitoring strategies to evaluate personnel performance and program operations.
• Reassess the entire program from start to finish and update any inconsistencies, contradictions, or inadequacies.

Finalize your Criminal Justice Program Proposal by compiling Parts I through VI into one cohesive 5500- to 7,000-word cumulative proposal. 

Include a table of contents and any appendices as needed in the final version submitted to your instructor.

Create a 10- to 15-slide Microsoft® PowerPoint® presentation that captures all sections of your proposal. Your presentation must represent your proposed program in its entirety.

Include detailed speaker notes in the presentation. Use complete sentences, with correct grammar and punctuation, to fully explain each slide as if you were giving an in-person presentation.

Format your proposal consistent with APA guidelines.

 Assignment Content

1. Assess the external environment for the organization you researched in Week 1. 

   Based on your assessment and the organization’s strengths and weaknesses you identified in Week 1, evaluate opportunities for that organization to add economic, social, and environmental value. 

   Recommend an opportunity that best capitalizes on the organization’s valuable, rare, and hard-to-imitate resources, is least impacted by the organization’s weaknesses, and will take best advantage of the external environment.

   Create a PowerPoint presentation to present your assessment, evaluation, and recommendation. Include the following sections in your presentation:

   • A cover slide
   • An agenda
   • A description of the organization (1 slide with speaker’s notes).
   • A summary of the strengths and weakness of the organization (2 slides with speaker’s notes)
   • Key aspects of your assessment of the external environment that present opportunities for adding value, such as trends, unmet needs, unsolved problems, under-served consumer groups, etc. (2-3 slides with speaker’s notes)
   • An evaluation of opportunities to add economic value (1 slide with speaker’s notes)
   • An evaluation of opportunities to add social value (1 slide with speaker’s notes)
   • An evaluation of opportunities to add environmental value (1 slide with speaker’s notes). Note: Some opportunities may appear on more than 1 slide. For example, you may find an opportunity that adds economic, social, and environmental value.

Preliminary investigations do not necessarily yield enough information to prosecute a criminal case. Despite a thorough preliminary investigation, many cases require a follow-up investigation.

For this assignment, select a recent criminal case in your city or local geographical area from the past six months. Consider how you would investigate this case.

Write a 3–4-page paper in which you:

1. Assemble a set of guidelines based on your textbook readings for conducting a preliminary crime scene investigation for this criminal case. 
2. Discuss at least one-way data mining can be used in order to conduct an efficient follow-up investigation for this case. 
3. Identify the major crimes in this case and specify the reporting procedures.
4. Consider the four most important characteristics of an effective criminal investigator and discuss the level of effectiveness that was brought to this case by the investigator. Was the investigation effective? Where could there be improvements?
5. In what way can law enforcement investigators conduct efficient and effective investigations while maintaining the rights of both the victim(s) and the accused(s) in a criminal case? 
6. Cite three references from the past two years. Note: Wikipedia and similar types of websites do not qualify as academic resources.

• Outline the proper guidelines to conduct a preliminary investigation for a criminal case.

As you close your weekly meeting with Deborah, she says, “There are some very good ideas here. I would like to see you continue with a global marketing plan. We need more concrete analysis and data for the presentation. Get your team to work.”

After your meeting with Deborah, you briefly meet with your team to discuss moving toward a more formal analysis.

“Tiffany and Mike, we need to provide a more detailed analysis,” you explain. “You’ve done a great job so far looking at what resources we need and potential countries, but we need to really dig deeper on this.”

Tiffany nods her head in agreement. “Definitely,” she says. “We need to look at some internal variables as well as political, environmental, sociocultural, and technological environments of the countries that we are considering.”

Mike interjects, “Well, that’s something we should consider, but it’s not the only way to analyze this type of project. This is such a big decision, and we need to give as much information as we can.”

You reply, “Great point, Mike. We should look at this from a couple of different angles.”

The next step in your strategic marketing plan is to determine the tools that are needed to conduct an analysis of the industry and competitors. Complete the following:

• What are the best tools to use in this situation?
  • Provide a brief summary of at least 2 of these tools.
• Why do you think these are the best ways to analyze the market?
• How will you use these tools in your plan?

7. Discuss the impact of this condition on the physical, cognitive, and psychosocial development of those affected by this condition.
8. Identify local community resources, and or national resources, such as phone numbers and contact information, and program details that are available to support an individual or family in your “lot in life” situation.
9. Any additional information relevant to the topic for informational purposes (i.e., brief video clip, brochure, classroom demonstration) may be included.
