Post Graduation Adventure

Read the Post Graduation Adventure case on p. 154 in Ch. 5 of Project Management: The Managerial Process and submit an APA paper for the following

Note:

– As a hint, you should have an intro paragraph, 3 sections in the paper body (1 for each question) and a closing paragraph.

– In item 1 you must clearly state the project management methodology (i.e Top down, waterfall, etc) you are using and then apply it to the trip project. As another hint there are 4 trips being looked at here originating from the USA….one to Spain…one to France…one to South Africa…one to Vietnam….do not ignore any of them in your discussion.

– When you discuss cost in item 2 I need to see real values…this means you will do some research on costs. Not looking for you to be a travel agent and provide costs to the penny but there should be enough data to be able to make a decision of where to go based on cost. Costs should include more than just an airline ticket (think of when you go on a trip and all the other costs involved in taking a trip like hotel, food, etc). As a hint, the easiest way to show, compare, discuss the costs is to place them in a matrix/table with the various locations you are going to and show the total cost for an easy comparison.

– Item 3 asks for non-cost; I need to see at least 2 non-cost items discussed and how they are impacting your decision on where to go for each location (for example, Spain and France weather are bad but Vietnam and South Africa have great weather so they are scoring higher based on the non cost factor of weather, etc, etc); only discuss non-cost items (you already have discussed cost in question 2). For example do not discuss money exchange rates here….that would be a cost factor. Something like the weather would be a non-cost item….and since I just gave you that one, weather cannot be one of your 2 items discussed….if it is in your paper you earn no points for it.

– In your paper conclusion I should see your recommendation of where to go based on your paper discussion/findings. This is where you have looked at both the cost and non cost factors to make a decision. You may find that cost might outweigh the non-cost items or possibly it is the other way around where non-cost drives the decision or possibly a combination of them both. The purpose of the assignment is to help you gain insight that when you are working on a project you should consider all factors involved and not rush to a decision based on one factor.

Homework114

Conduct an interview (via phone or face-to-face) of ten or more people in the age group of fifteen to sixty-four years, to survey the impression of their health, health problems, and lifestyle choices.

Ask the following questions, while conducting the interview:

  • Do you smoke?
  • Do you drink alcohol?
  • Do you wear a seatbelt while driving a car?
  • Do you talk on the phone while driving?
  • Do you exercise four to five times a week?
  • Do you eat a healthy diet with fruits, vegetables, fish, chicken, and whole grain?
  • Do you suffer from any of the following conditions: high blood pressure, stress, weight issues, or diabetes?

Compile the data collected through the interview for each category of questions, taking into consideration the age group to which they belong.

For doing so, create a three column chart.

  • In the first column, list the health behaviors for which people were interviewed.
  • In the second column, list the percentage of individuals interviewed against each behavior.
  • In the third column, list the percentage of people who believe they have healthy lifestyles (information can be found in the text readings or from the Internet).

Next, analyze the chart to understand how these columns differ from each other.

In a Microsoft Word document, create a 3page report of your analysis, answering the following questions:

  • Are you surprised to see the trends of the most common behaviors? Discuss.
  • Did an individual’s age relate to his or her health behavior? For example, do individuals in the age group of fifty to sixty years have different behaviors than individuals in the age group of thirty to forty years?
  • What are some of the changes that the people you interviewed could implement in their lifestyles and behaviors to improve their health status?

Support your responses with examples.

Cite any sources in APA format.

Deliverable 1 – Home Appraisal: Ethics Brief

Title:

Module 01: Essential functions of law and ethics in business.

Competency:

Analyze laws and ethics to solve business problems.

Scenario:

You work for a U.S. based company that does home appraisals. While conducting an inspection on a home, you know the home has been contracted to sell for $50,000.00. You come to the conclusion that the home can appraise for $80,000.00. You also know that your sister has been looking for a home in this desirable neighborhood but most homes are well over six figures. You mention to the owner that your sister would be happy to pay $60,000.00 for the home and it would certainly appraise for that. You wink as you walk out the door, after handing the owner your card with your contact information. The owner calls you and says she would accept if your sister made an offer.

Instructions:

  • Review the situation and conduct scholarly research on contract law. Write a brief in Microsoft Word (minimum two pages) that analyzes the legal and ethical issues involved in the business situation. Specifically, describe the legal theory of a claim, appropriate court level, classification of law, and likely ethical issues that exist.
    • Address the following:
      1. What are the elements for a valid contract involving a real estate transaction? Do your comments to the owner constitute a valid contract? why or why not?
      2. If the initial buyer wants to sue the homeowner for breach of contract, what court(s) would have jurisdiction and why?
      3. If the initial buyer wants to sue you for intentional interference with contractual relations, what court(s) would have jurisdiction and why? Could the initial buyer sue your company? Why or why not?
      4. What ethical issues are involved in this situation (consider any personal conflicts of interest and any professional obligations you owe to your company)?
  • Use at least three credible sources. These should be cited and in APA format.

hbd final

Application of the Johari Window

For this final, please apply the Johari Window model to identify and understand the level of self- disclosure in relationships. Additionally, you are asked to use the format described from Enhance Activity with MindTap Ch 3: Models of Self-Disclosure, to draw two Johari Windows representing the relationship between you and one other person. Remember to reverse one of the windows so that your open area and that of the other person face each other.

Then answer the following questions:

1.      Describe which parts of yourself you keep in the hidden area. Explain your reasons for doing so. Describe the advantages or disadvantages or both of not disclosing these parts of yourself.  (1 page minimum)

2.      Look at the blind area of your model. Is this area large or small because of the amount of feedback (much or little) that you get from your partner or because of your willingness to receive the feedback that is offered? (1 page minimum)

3.      Explain whether you are satisfied with the results illustrated by your answers. If you are not satisfied, explain what you can do to remedy the problem.  (1 page minimum)

4.      Through building your Johari Window, what did you discover about your relationship? What, if any, surprises did you discover in your open, hidden, blind or unknown areas? (1 page minimum)

5.      Based on these results, how much will your relationship change?

6.      Will you disclose more information or less information? Explain why. How will you handle your blind area? The unknown? (1 page minimum)

Draw your conclusions.

You are to complete this assignment in a minimum of 7 pages. The title and reference page do not count towards the page count.

Exercise 8 – McDonald’s Case Study

Let’s face it – pretty well everyone we know has eaten at McDonald’s at some time or other. But why is McDonald’s so successful? Particularly as many people would agree that their food is only just OK. Therefore, if it’s not their core product offering driving their success, then what is?

To find out, let’s go back to the beginning of their success story. It was in the 1950’s when Ray Kroc, a milkshake machine salesman, got a big order from the McDonald’s brother’s hamburger store. They bought six machines that had the capacity to make 48 milkshakes at one time! Ray was fascinated to find out why a local hamburger store would want to make so many milkshakes. He found out that they had very efficient processes and systems that enabled them to make many hamburgers in a short period and serve many customers quickly. Obviously, Ray saw significant potential in this local hamburger store and eventually worked with the McDonald’s brothers to expand store numbers.

Since then, McDonald’s has streamlined, fine-tuned and systematized their food production process even further. This allows them to provide great speed and consistency of product. This gives their customers the reassurance of knowing exactly what they are going to get, no matter which McDonald’s store they visit.

Today, McDonald’s is a major owner of real estate and has stores in thousands of key locations throughout the world. This obviously provides great convenience to customers. And to make their offering even more convenient, McDonald’s have added drive-thru options and extended trading hours at many of their stores.

They also provide a good range of facilities including easy parking, comfortable seating, playgrounds, restrooms, and sometimes even free newspapers – all within clean and modern surroundings.

Despite their success, in recent years McDonald’s has tried to adapt to the changing needs of the market with their broader and healthier menu. And to support this change, they have heavily promoted their new menu in order to keep their strong brand relevant with today’s consumers.

Recursion and iteration discussion

Write a response to the discussion below about recursion and iteration with a minimum of 150 words.

In both recursion and iteration, a set of instructions is executed  repeatedly. In recursion, the method making the call and the method  being called is the same method (GeeksforGeeks, 2019). In iteration, a  loop repeats until a certain set condition is met (GeeksforGeeks, 2019).  Conditional statements terminate recursion and set values control  iteration termination. Recursion may utilize less code, but it has the  potential to create a lot of overhead because it is constantly calling  methods (Recursion (computer science), 2021). Because Iteration relies  on loops, it is much easier to find the time complexity of using  iteration versus recursion (GeeksforGeeks, 2019). Because the time  complexity of recursion due to overhead can be very large, it can lead  to system crash. There is no danger of this with iteration since it  relies on loops exclusively, which do not use as much overhead to  operate. Keeping this in mind, if the number of calls will be large and  speedy operation is essential, then iteration would be a better method  to use. If time and overhead are not an issue but tidy code is,  recursion is the better choice. Recursion involves breaking complex  problems down into increasingly smaller subproblems to make them easily  solvable (Recursion (computer science), 2021). In other words, the  solution to the bigger problem can be found in the solution to the  smaller problem. As such, it is suited for finding solutions to complex  programming problems. If you know how many times you will need to loop a  block of code, or the problem is a simplistic one, then iteration is a  straightforward and easy way to solve the problem. Certain data  structures work better using recursion or iteration, so it is important  to take this into consideration when choosing which data structure to  use.

Discussion: Power And Privileges

Advanced human services professional practitioners who regularly engage in critical reflection about their own power and privilege are often more likely to recognize and challenge practices, procedures, and policies that perpetuate discrimination and oppression. Practitioners who do not engage in this type of critical reflection may unknowingly do harm to service users, their organization, and their community. For https://hybridessays.com/nursing-homework-help/zero-plagiarism5-references-although-structural-therapy-and-strategic-therapy/ instance, a practitioner may unconsciously impose their values and beliefs on a service user of a different culture, condone long-standing organizational practices that are discriminatory, and fail to recognize opportunities to effect systemic change to better serve the historically oppressed populations in their community.

Last week, you had an opportunity to engage in critical reflection about your level of power and privilege when you completed the Power Flower exercise. In doing so, you may have realized that every person has a unique combination of social identities from which they derive some level of power and privilege. In this Discussion, you will share insights you had and conclusions you drew about your level of power and privilege as a result of completing the exercise. You also will consider how your awareness in this area may impact how you practice human services at the micro, mezzo, and macro levels.

As previously mentioned, the conversation about power and privilege is not an easy one. It is not meant to be. It also is not an indoctrination about a certain way of thinking. It is important to understand the unintended results of being part of a certain group. This is a reality that, as a society, we cannot deny. It does not mean one group is “better” than another. It is important to understand where your privilege and power exists and how that will impact your work as an advanced human services professional practitioner.

Note: Before you begin this Discussion, keep in mind that power and privilege are sensitive topics that often generate difficult conversations not unlike those you might have when practicing human services. Remember to be respectful of your classmates and open to how they may perceive and experience their level of power and privilege.

To Prepare

  • Review your Course Announcements for possible information related to this week’s Discussion and Assignment.
  • Reflect on the Power Flower exercise you completed last week and revisit the Learning Resources on power and privilege.
  • Review the Learning Resources on working with culturally diverse service users and leading systemic change. Consider the examples of how to better serve diverse service users, human services employees, and the community as a whole.
  • Consider how a greater awareness of your own power and privilege could influence your work with service users, your leadership in a human services organization, and your role as a social change agent interested in effecting systemic change.

Post one insight you had or conclusion you drew about your level of power and privilege as a result of completing the Power Flower exercise last week. https://hybridessays.com/nursing-homework-help/zero-plagiarism5-referenceswhile-cognitive-behavioral-therapy-cbt-and-ration/ Then explain how gaining a greater awareness of your level of power and privilege could influence your work with service users, your leadership in a human services organization, and your role as a social change agent interested in effecting systemic change. Be specific.
