In ethical issues dealing with student , what good and bad characteristics are displayed by each of the options?  Try very hard to identify (and name) specific character traits.

A General Moral Principle (GMP) is the leading, guiding standard (or criterion) a theory, an individual, or a group uses in determining whether an action, practice, or idea is (a) morally right or, (b) morally wrong, or © neither right nor wrong in itself.

The GMP of Virtue Ethics may be stated as follows:

“An action or practice is right if it does or would tend to lead to good (i.e., praiseworthy) character; an action or practice is wrong if it does or would tend to lead to bad (i.e., vicious & blameworthy) character” (Mundia, 2015).

The decision makers in your case study are required to choose one of the two options facing them.

Here are the questions you need to answer for DP7b:

[In answering these questions, try to mention the specific character traits.  This is what virtue ethicists are always doing. Here are examples of character traits:  honesty, deceitful, kindness, cruelty, discipline, indiscipline, law abiding, lawlessness, fairness, unfairness, modesty, greed, exploitation, hardworking, lazy, principled, unprincipled, strict, considerate. In class tomorrow, we will help each other brainstorm and identify what characteristics are displayed in your case studies. ]

A. 1. If the decision maker(s) choose option (a) would they be showing good or bad character? Why?  Explain yourself fully. (3 to 5 sentences).

     2.  In their claims and desires, do the beneficiaries of option (a) showing good or bad character?  Explain yourself fully. (3 to 5 sentences)

B.  1. If the decision maker(s) choose option (b) would they be showing good or bad character? Why?  Explain yourself fully. (3 to 5 sentences)

     2.  In their claims and desires, do the beneficiaries of option (a) showing good or bad character?  Explain yourself fully. (3 to 5 sentences).

Your answer must be at least 150 words and at most 200 words.

Post your answer in the link names DP7b

At the top, left-hand corner of your answer sheet, you must state your:

Name,

Class & Class Section,

Assignment Name and # (i.e., DP7b: Duty Ethics on ________ (your

assigned case study).

Date of Submission.

Your document must be in Microsoft Word.  No other programs, including Google Docs, will be accepted. The body of your paper must be double-spaced.

Can someone do my Week 2 Assignment and Journal for Organizational Development?

 Week 2 Assignment Instuctions

Prior to beginning this assignment, read Chapter 3 in the course textbook. You may want to review Chapters 1 and 2 in your course textbook for assistance, too.

Review the guidelines found in Table 1.1 (OD realities and misconceptions) to establish the reasoning for OD interaction. In addition, pay special attention to the criteria for determining the validity of an OD problem. Understanding the process is crucial to becoming a successful OD consultant. Watch the following videos, What Should Consultants Do? (Links to an external site.) and Handling a Complainer, to gain perspective on responsible consulting.

There are many ethical responsibilities within the field of the OD consultant. Suppose that you are just beginning your practice as an external OD consultant and an organization approaches you to help them address an issue or change within their company. Before accepting the job, it is important for you to determine whether the problem is an actual OD issue or an internal matter that is better addressed within.

Explain the process for evaluating an organizational condition to determine if the action required is OD-related. Define the specific criteria for determining the core of the problem and the potential solution.

After assessing the request, there are times that you will find the problem is not an OD concern. Prepare a response to the organization stating why the problem is not OD, why you are not the right person for the job, and what options they might have to remedy their problem.

Once your research is complete, begin preparing your paper. The paper must be four to five pages of content (excluding the cover and reference pages). You must include a minimum of three scholarly, peer-reviewed, or credible sources that provide qualified information related to the role of the OD practitioner. In addition, include the course textbook as a scholarly resource to support theory and concepts related to OD strategy. Remember that Wikipedia is not a qualified resource. Use the Scholarly, Peer-Reviewed, and Other Credible Sources (Links to an external site.) document for additional guidance. During the construction of the paper, be specific and refrain from making assumptions. Describe all aspects of the search components listed below.

In your paper,

  • Explain the process to determine the validity of the problem.
  • Define specific criteria for OD consulting.
  • Prepare an appropriate response to the organization regarding their issue.

The Responsible Consulting paper

Week 2 Journal Instructions

Prior to preparing your journal entry, review the Careers in Organizational Development Panel (Links to an external site.) video for an outside look at the role of the OD consultant.

During Week 1, you had a preliminary look at the OD consultant and the responsibilities they have during a change process. Your journal entry briefly reviewed your early understanding of the required skill set, and where your skills fit within that schematic.

Digging a bit deeper, Chapter 3 in the course text explains the details behind the practice. In addition, you researched and analyzed OD consultant job descriptions for an enhanced knowledge of the role.

Using this new knowledge,

  • Develop a profile and description of your technical, interpersonal, and consulting competencies (current or desired).
  • Include a paragraph explaining the role and style you will use for consulting.
  • Prioritize the technical, interpersonal, and consulting competencies you might need to learn to be a confident and skilled practitioner.

The journal entry must be a minimum of one full page of content and provide pertinent and logical dialog related to the role of the OD consultant.

Research Paper Assignment
Instructions

Overview

In developing your expertise in transnational
organized crime (TOC) you will be writing a series of research papers. All
together the writing contained in all these papers combined would be quite
significant project! You will find that in some modules, the research papers
mimic our readings with respect to subject matter and some modules, the
research papers do not mimic the reading. Again, the goal of these research
papers is to stretch the depth and breadth of your knowledge. You should feel
well prepared to teach a course in TOCs after completing this course. The
research papers and PowerPoints you create could serve as the basis for such
class. Additionally, you will find that this course and the course CJUS701
Comparative Criminal Justice Systems complement each other very well.

Instructions

·
Each
research paper should be a minimum of 6 to 8 pages.

·
The
vast difference in page count is because some countries and/or crime/topics are
quite easy to study and some countries and/or crime/topics have very limited
information.

·
In
some instances, there will be a plethora of information and you must use
skilled writing to maintain proper page count.

·
Please
keep in mind that this is doctoral level analysis and writing – you are to take
the hard-earned road – the road less travelled – the scholarly road in forming
your paper.

·
The
paper must use current APA style, and the page count does not include the title
page, abstract, reference section, or any extra material.

·
The
minimum elements of the paper are listed below.

·
You
must use a minimum of 8 recent (some
countries/crimes/topics may have more recent research articles than others),
relevant, and academic (peer review journals preferred and professional
journals allowed if used judiciously) sources, at least 2 sources being the
Holy Bible, and one recent (some countries/crime/topics have more recent than
others) news article.  Books may be used
but are considered “additional: sources beyond the stated minimums. You may use
.gov sources as your recent, relevant, and academic sources if the writing is
academic in nature (authored works). You may also use United Nations and
Whitehouse.gov documents as academic documents.

·
Again,
this paper must reflect graduate level research and writing style.  If you need to go over the maximum page count
you must obtain professor permission in advance! Please reference the Research
Paper Rubric when creating your research paper.

These are minimum guidelines – you may expand the
topics covered in your papers.

1)
Begin
your paper with a brief analysis of the following elements:

a.
Country
analysis

i.
Introduction
to the country

ii.
People
and society of the country

iii.
What
is the basic government structure?

2)
Analyze
the nature of organized crime in the assigned area (you may narrow the scope of
your analysis through your introduction or thesis statement if needed)

3)
Analyze
the impact of organized crime in the assigned area on the government.

4)
Briefly
propose policies that may be helpful in mitigating organized crime in the
assigned area.

5)
A
Holy Bible comparison/analysis of the nature of the organized crime system, the
impact on the country, or your proposed policy to mitigate the system.

The following is an outline of the minimum points to
be covered in your paper – Crime Typology Topics:

These are minimum guidelines – you may expand the
topics covered in your papers…

1)
Analyze
the nature of assigned crime/issue with respect to (at a minimum):

a.
Scope
of the crime/issue

b.
Financial
impact – if possible

c.
Human
impact – if possible

d.
Analysis
of various countries laws dealing with the crime/issue.

Assignment 1: Debating the Issue of Organized Crime and the Role of Terrorism

Assignment 1: Debating the Issue of Organized Crime and the Role of Terrorism

Organized crime has been problematic for law enforcement agencies for decades. The very structure and activities of organized crime makes eliminating the problem an ongoing challenge. The purpose of this assignment is to show just how difficult it is for law enforcement to stop organized crime. Strategies to eliminate organized crime have included increased surveillance and various policy changes, but they have failed.

You are running for mayor of Centervale. It is a tight contest, and you expect to have a rather heated debate at the town hall meeting coming up. Your campaign manager tells you that at the debate, your opponent intends to present a plan for eliminating all organized criminal enterprises from Centervale. However, from your knowledge of the history and theory of organized crime, you know that complete elimination of organized crime is impossible, although a reasonable plan for reducing criminal activity can be developed and implemented at the local, state, and federal levels.

Submission Details:

By the due date assigned, in a minimum of 250 words, post to the Discussion Area your responses to the following:

  • Use your knowledge of organized crime to create a counterargument against your opponent. Your counterargument should:
    • Focus on the future of organized crime and consider its impact on the threat to public safety.
    • Educate the public on why terrorism is a valid area of concern in the organized crime debate.
  • Provide a rationale for highlighting key areas that pose a specific threat to public safety.

Implementation of Global Strategies

length 7-10 pages

Your work on your strategic global marketing plan is complete. You  now have a plan that will implement, manage, and support a global  strategy, but it is far from organized. You e-mail Deborah to inform her  that you are almost ready and that the initial planning is complete. A  little while later, the phone rings and you see Deborah’s name on the  caller ID.

“Hi, Deborah. What’s up?” you ask.

“I’d like you to present to the advisory board next week,” Deborah  says. “They are very curious about your findings and would like to know  if globalization is a good opportunity for the company. The board wants  to finalize their strategic plan, and this may be a key part of it.”

After you hang up, you begin thinking through the different items that you will need to cover.

As you finalize the marketing plan, complete the following:

  • Is globalization a good move for the company?
  • What is your rationale behind this decision?
  • What geographic location should be a target for global expansion?
  • What background information can you provide to support this decision?
  • How will this decision support the overall goal of growth and expansion?
  • How would you refute someone with the opposing perspective?

History 2 Discussion 3

The Republican victory in 1896 gave heart to proponents of prosperity through foreign trade.   McKinley sought neither war nor colonies, but many in his party wanted both. Called “jingos,” they included Assistant Secretary of the Navy, Theodore Roosevelt; John Hay, the ambassador to London, and senators Albert Beveridge and Henry Cabot Lodge.  Britain, France, and Germany were seizing territory around the world, and jingos believed the United States needed to do the same for strategic, religious, and economic reasons.

In order to prepare for this discussion forum::

  • Review and identify the relevant sections of Chapter 21 that support your discussion.
  • Read the linked document, taken from an article by Senator Henry Cabot Lodge (R-MASS), in the 1895 issue of Forum magazine. What motives for imperialism are reflected in Lodge’s article?

After you have completed your readings post your response to only ONE of the following questions.

  1. Several reasons are proposed explaining why the United States decided to join the “Imperialist Club”.  Which argument was the strongest, and which argument was the weakest?  Explain your position.
  2. Is there any evidence to support Kristin Hoganosn’s argument regarding the role of gender and the Spanish-American War? (Suggestion:  students might want to review the previous chapter for a discussion on this topic).  Discuss if you agree or disagree with her argument.  Make sure to support your position.
  3. In your opinion, do Lodge’s arguments support the need for the United States to acquire an imperial empire?  Explain your position.

In order to earn the full 100 points (100%) for this assignment, you must:

  1. Directly and completely answer at least ONE question. Please make sure that you clearly indicate which question you have chosen to discuss. Clearly and accurately explain your answer based on factual information contained in the assigned readings. (80 points)
  2. Students must respond to at least one fellow student’s posting explaining the reason(s) for their agreement or disagreement, with the arguments that have been presented, in order to get full credit for the discussion. (20 points)
  3. When posting your response to a fellow student’s comment, please try whenever possible, to select the question that you did not address for your discussion.
  4. Make sure that all statements are supported with facts from the reading selections.

Reminder: Please make sure to comply with all Netiquette Guidelines listed in the Getting Started module.

Developing a Body Paragraph

For this discussion, you will develop one BODY paragraph of your research paper. Your paragraph will begin with one of the topic sentences from your sentence outline. (Feel free to revise the topic sentence if you think it would be beneficial.) It will then provide major and minor details to develop the idea in the topic sentence. Consider where evidence from your sources will help support your ideas, and make sure you comment on the evidence to show how it supports the topic sentence. Post your paragraph here.

Week 5, Discussion 2: Semi-Colons and Colons

Contains unread posts

In this discussion, we will consider ways to effectively use semi-colons and colons.

Initial post (by Friday):

Post a sentence from your own writing that uses a semi-colon or colon OR post a sentence from your own writing that you could revise to use a semi-colon or colon and make the revision.

Explain why the semi-colon or colon fits into your sentence and why you might choose to use it instead of alternative ways of constructing and punctuating the sentence.

Guided response (by Sunday):

Respond to one of your classmates, considering the following questions:

  • Is the semi-colon or colon used in accordance with this week’s Grammar Lab lessons?
  • Is the semi-colon or colon an effective choice in the writer’s sentence? Why or why not?
  • What alternatives would you suggest, if any?
