Week 4 Assignement Flowchart

Week 4 Assignment: Workflow Analysis Instructions and Grading Rubric
Assignment Rationale:

Please refer to the course syllabus to determine what percentage this assignment is of your final course grade. The purpose of this assignment is to allow each student an opportunity to create a workflow analysis.

Assignment Learning Objective:

Each assignment will be related to a specific learning objective. This assignment is linked to the following Week 4 Learning Objective 1 (Consider the design or redesign of healthcare systems to support workflow organization and governance in preparation for the case study project).

Assignment Instructions:

Patient care is delivered in a highly organized and integrated fashion according to policies, procedures and clinical processes. The term “workflow” refers to the sequence of actions completed for any given task. Workflow and process designs ensure the most efficient and effective use of technology. Unintended consequences can occur from lack of attention to workflow and process changes. This is an all too common occurrence since vendors may or may not provide this service when implementing a new system. A flowchart is a graphic tool that uses standard symbols to visually display detailed information. Flowcharts can be used as a tool to make sure all members of a team have the same understanding of a process. When workflow is understood, technology can be implemented to enhance processes rather than create obstacles.  For this assignment, please analyze a workflow of your choice. Create a chart depicting the current workflow and then summarize any needed improvements. The summary of needed improvements can be written in paragraph form or in diagram form. There are several tutorial websites (many of them offer free software but please use Word or hand-write the diagram for simplicity’s sake) about how to create flowcharts. Please keep in mind this flowchart should be very simple. This exercise is meant to familiarize yourself with thinking through the process – not to become an expert in workflow analysis. However, please use the appropriate symbols within your diagram; the most commonly used symbol in a flowchart is the rectangle. The rectangle represents a process. Here is an example of a simple flowchart cut and pasted from Wikipedia:Flowchart. (2018). In Wikipedia. Retrieved from https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FlowchartA real-life work situation could be used for this assignment or you can create a fictional workflow based on past experiences. For example, think of the last time you went to the dentist or the eye doctor. Think about how you progressed from the waiting room to the examination room and consider how the process might have been improved. It might help to keep the following questions in mind as you analyze the workflow:

  • What is the next critical task that needs to be completed?
  • Who is responsible for the task?
  • What resources are needed to complete it?
  • When does it need to be completed by?
  1. For this assignment, please analyze a workflow of your choice.
  2. Create a chart depicting the current workflow (please use appropriate symbols) and then summarize any suggested or needed improvements.
  3. The summary of needed improvements can be written in paragraph form – there is no need to create a second diagram.
  4. The workflow assignment should be completed within one-two pages. This is not a lengthy paper assignment. It is meant to be a worksheet type of learning activity.
  5. Please read the grading rubric (below) carefully before submitting the assignment.
  6. Please include any necessary references, making sure to use APA formatting.
  7. This assignment is not a formal paper but an APA formatted cover sheet will still be required.
  8. Submit this assignment as a Word document, using the link found within the Week 4 Learning Activities Folder.
  9. It would be acceptable to compose this document by hand (rather than on a computer) and scan/upload the written document into the assignment submission link. However, here is a link to how to create a flowchart in Word.

Risk Software, Decision Modeling HELP

Mojave Manufacturing Company (MMC) is considering the introduction of a new product. Before deciding, they would like you to do a risk analysis of the situation to assess whether the introduction of the new product is a good idea for the company. The (annual) fixed cost to begin production of the new product is $32,000. The variable cost for the product is uniformly distributed between $15 and $25 per unit. The product will sell for $50 per unit. Annual demand for the product is best described by a normal distribution with a mean of 1300 units and a standard deviation of 375 units. (Assume they produce exactly enough units to meet the annual demand.)

a. Develop an @RISK simulation model and run it for 1,000 iterations.

b. According to your simulation results what is the expected annual profit?

c. According to the simulation results what is the probability of making a loss on this new product?

 d. Would you recommend MMC introduce this new product? Defend your decision using the simulation output data.

e. How many iterations would you need to estimate expected annual profit for this new product within $50 for a 95 percent confidence level?

Cuban Investors buys real estate, develops it, and resells it for a profit. A new property is available, and Mark Cuban, the president and owner of Cuban Investors, believes it can be sold for $160,000. The current property owner asked for bids and stated that the property will be sold for the highest bid in excess of $100,000. Two competitors will be submitting bids for the property. Cuban does not know what the competitors will bid, but he assumes for planning purposes that the amount bid by each competitor will be uniformly distributed between $100,000 and $150,000. Cuban is considering submitting a bid of anywhere between $120000 and $150000 (in increments of $5000) for the property. He has consulted you to help him decide upon the “right” amount to bid for the property in order to maximize his expected profit.

a. Let’s assume that Cuban decides to bid $120000. Build a simulation model corresponding to the above scenario and run it for 5000 iterations to answer parts b, c, and d.

b. Based on your simulation model what is the probability that Cuban will be able to obtain the property with the bid of 120,000?

c. Please provide a 95% confidence interval on your probability estimate from part b.

d. What is the expected profit associated with the bid of $120,000?

 e. Rerun your simulation model (5000 iterations each time) using bid amounts of $125000, $130,000, $135,000, $140,000, $145,000 and $150,000. You can either run each simulation separately or use risksimtable as discussed in the live session. Based on these simulations which bid amount value would you recommend to Mark Cuban in order to maximize his expected profit?

politic questions

At the outset, please choose one question to answer and take a few sentences to craft a coherent, thoughtful response. Also, after you’re done writing your individual response, and if you have time or are so disposed, please feel free to interact kindly but constructively with your fellow classmates. Our goal here is to replicate (as much as possible) a dynamic classroom atmosphere.

Lecture 21

Question 1: Do you think existing mechanisms for improving the U.S. military effectively prevent the creation of a “garrison state” here? Or do you think that cooperation between governments and business to expand the military – through something akin to a “military industrial complex” – is now corrosive of and inimical to human freedom? Please explain your reasoning.

Question 2: Do you think the United States should currently spend more or less on its military? How would the government and citizens alike know if too much is being spent? And what factors should they consider when weighing this cost-benefit tradeoff?

Question 3: Are you concerned about the fact that large (mega) corporations have the capacity to translate military technology – for which they are financially remunerated by the government – into consumer goods that generate enormous profit in domestic markets as well? Or is this recent development something to be applauded–effectively, a way to kill two birds with one stone? Do you think economic growth is practically synonymous with the continued expansion of human freedom? Why or why not?

Question 4: Analyze military spending and growth through the lens of the so-called republican dilemma. Do you think this supposed trade-off between security and freedom gets a prominent hearing in domestic debates over military spending? Should it get a hearing? Why or why not?

Community Health Nursing is an umbrella term to include many different types of nurses within the community health arena.  Nurses within the community health world are educated on public health concepts to care for groups of people and groups of culturally diverse populations along with other educational preparedness.  There is a population-focused kind of care that involves using the nursing process.  The implementation of these health programs and services requires this to happen on the educational level of the group, individual, or population that you are directing care for.

A large number of nurses are employed in Home Health Care providing home health care to individuals who are ill.  Community mental health provides care to individuals with mental health illnesses and/or substance abuse.  Correctional nonhospital nursing provides care within the correctional facility.  Hospice care for patients and families dealing with end-of-life issues.  Occupational health ensures the safety and health of all people in the workplace through research and prevention.  Community health programs that are in your local and rural health departments promoting health prevent illnesses, injury, and premature death.  School nursing brings education, health promotion, and preventative care to children in the school settings to include Colleges and Universities.  State, local, community, and rural health departments are utilized by the population to receive immunizations, breastfeeding classes, wellness classes, and child health classes along with education associated with wellness promotion and disease prevention.

Another focus of community health is that of Global or World Health.  This is a focus of diseases such at tuberculosis, anthrax, covid19, measles, mumps, rubella, smallpox, among many other diseases.  The National Center of Infectious Diseases helps with preventing illness, disability, and death caused by infectious diseases in the United States and around the World.  The departments that fall under this category are the National Center for Immunization and Respiratory disease Immunization program, National Center for Emerging and Zoonotic Infectious Diseases, National Center for HIV/AIDS, Viral Hepatitis, STD, and TB prevention.  These programs provide leadership in preventing and controlling human immunodeficiency virus/acquired immunodeficiency syndrome(HIV/AIDS), viral hepatitis, STD’s, and TB (Maurer, F. & Smith, C., 2013).

The population that is served in community health are of a wide variety of ages populations, ethnicities, educational backgrounds, and races.  A large portion of the population community health serves are those that fall below the poverty level and would qualify for a number of governmental programs such as food stamps, Medicaid, Medicare, social security, low-income housing, CHIP, WIC, and TANIF benefits.  These programs are government-funded (paid by the taxpayers). There is a rising number of uninsured due to a few things:

  1. Strict eligibility requirements from the insurance companies.
  2. The rising cost of private health insurance.

The Affordable Care Act, 2010 was created to help expand health coverage to the 32 million uninsured it was also an attempt to improve healthcare services which controlling cost (Maurer, F. & Smith, C., 2013).

Overall Community Health is a way to serve the community in a  wide variety of ways for a wide variety of populations such as the elderly,  people of different ethnicities, educational backgrounds, and races.  A large portion of the population community health serves are those that fall below the poverty level and would qualify for a number of governmental programs such as food stamps, Medicaid, medicare, social security, low-income housing, and TANIF benefits.  These programs are government-funded (Florida Health Miami Dade County, 2020).

Community health nursing is a discipline that promotes wellness and protects the community from illness or injury with the progressive and new scientific methods of making health better. This practice considers the different ethnicities and social classes of the people they help to approach them the right way and with the right mindset to help them (McElroy et al., 2020). The community in which they practice benefits the specific group of people who live in a particular location and share similar or different cultures and beliefs. The clients of a community health nurse include its community which consists of individuals of all ages, cultures, and belief systems.

Community health nurses not only help the entire community in general but also individuals and families at large. In faith-based settings and organizations, community health nurses play an essential role in helping those in need, same way as those in homeless shelters and can therefore not afford the medication or care that the rest of the people can (Clark, 2015). Additionally, community health nurses serve the elderly population who need personalized care but cannot be hospitalized for various reasons and still live in their home’s comfort. Also, the chronically ill and those with terminal illnesses but cannot afford hospitalization or are not covered by medical insurance are also in dire need of the services offered by community health nurses who deliver such services to them. In addition, schools and clinics that are not allocated enough finances to hire enough personnel to monitor their health are aided by community health nurses who live to improve the livelihood of the people who live in their community and ensure that they are at their optimum health.

The elderly population is eligible for primary Medicare, which covers hospital insurance and supplemental security income, which is given if the elderly person got their social security benefits from non-well-paying jobs. Also, veterans who are retired or are injured from their time in war are eligible for the department of veteran affairs. This department offers compensation for disabilities, pension, and much more. However, some in need families are not eligible as much as the elderly or veterans, but the government can help them, but only if they are citizens of the United States legally and applied for help in their right residential state.

Many organizations are held responsible for ensuring that senior citizens are well provided for, including Alzheimer’s Association for the elderly living with Alzheimer’s and the Area Agency on Ageing, present in all fifty states in America. It ensures that all the questions about how to provide for them and if the situation arises when they cannot help can point you in the right direction. The United States Department of Veterans Affairs keeps a record of the war heroes and assists those who come out of the war scathed, whether physically or mentally, and help with their day-to-day care while adjusting to the world. The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration provides good quality and treats drug abuse-related illnesses, especially to homeless clients who have nowhere to go.

In conclusion, community health nurses are a necessity in our communities and are of much help in many different situations. Nurses are the foundation of any successful social healthcare program and instrumental in implementing any private or government-funded universal health plan(Fooladi, 2015). While the government reaches out to help those in need, the community still needs those who are nearer to them, like the nurses, to help as they are closer to home.

Deliverable 7 – Using Visual Communication to Deliver a Global Message Assignment

Deliverable 7 – Using Visual Communication to Deliver a Global Message

Competency

This project allows you to demonstrate your mastery of visual communication concepts discussed in this course.

Scenario

You are newly appointed to the communication team for a reputable philanthropic organization. The current task is for your team to create a global campaign that visually conveys a social message both here in the United States, as well as globally. This visual campaign message will use strategic visual communication to appeal to these differing audiences to reduce and potentially eliminate racial prejudice. Your visual communication campaign will be directed toward audiences from both the United States and another country of your choice.

The board of directors has asked you to assemble four video presentations and one instructional document to submit for their review. They have asked that the total video presentations’ length be under three minutes, and that you present visual examples while verbally explaining the main points of the analysis. You are reminded that four separate links need to be submitted for their review, along with your instructional document for the communication team.

Visual Campaign Elements:

  1. Create two ideas for promotional documents (flyers, pamphlets, etc.) to appeal to both your targeted U.S. viewers and to your targeted viewers from the other global country of your choice. Both of these documents should strategically utilize the following visual communication elements:
  2. color
  3. lines
  4. balance
  5. contrast.
  6. Create your video presentation for the board members clearly explaining how the visual communication elements on each of the two promotional documents strategically convey the message and meaning to viewers. Be sure to compare and contrast how the viewers from the U.S. and the other country might interpret these differing visuals elements, and how you used them strategically to please each targeted audience.

2. Find two different images to be used on the organization’s website page. One will be for the U.S. website, and one for the website in the country of your choice. Be sure that each of these images visually appeals to these two targeted audience viewers, and that the visual enhances the message to help eliminate racial prejudice. In your video presentation for the board of directors, identify and analyze the visual elements of cultural familiarity, semiotics, and emotional appeal (cognitive). Additionally, explain how each of those visual elements visually persuades the U.S. and global viewers in different ways.

3.Design two logos for this anti-racism campaign. One logo should be designed for U.S. audiences, and the other should be designed for the other country of your choice. Design your video presentation to explain how each of these logos can clearly be seen on both small and large settings (example: cell phone app size and billboard size), as well as a comparison of how the color, lines, and visual elements are specifically designed to visually appeal to each of these different countries

4.Create two social media posts, one for the United States and one for the other country of your choice. The posts should include text, images, and the logo matching the country where the social media post will appear. In your video presentation to the board members, compare and analyze how these visual elements (the images and the logo) emotionally engage and persuade each specified target audience (the United States and the country of your choice) to reduce and eliminate racial prejudice.

5. Create a one-page instructional document for your communication team members outlining the ethical concepts regarding finding and using visuals in communication. Within your instructional document, use images and/or clip art to enhance each of your points in the document, and address the following items:

a. How might the organization properly obtain and use images from outside sources?

b. What are the dangers and problems that arise when altering and digitally enhancing images?

Critical Reflection 2: Speaking Up

Using the scenarios on page 95 (Highlight 3.4) in the textbook, write a 2-3 page reflection on the following.

  • How would you respond in Scenario 3?
  • Now imagine the chair asks for everyone’s input except for a colleague who in some way is different from the others at the table. Maybe the colleague is the only female, non-binary, or gender non-conforming person sitting amongst a group of cisgender men. Maybe your colleague is an immigrant or an English language learner sitting at a table of colleagues who were born and raised in the country and grew up speaking English. Maybe the colleague is BIMPOC and is surrounded by individuals who are white. Maybe the colleague is also a community member or a stakeholder eligible for services. How would you respond in a way that supports the person, but does not take away their voice?
  • Have you been in a situation like this in the past? How did you respond? If that happened again, would you respond differently?
  • Have you ever been in a situation where you intentionally or unintentionally overlooked the voice of someone? What could you have done differently to create a space where all voices and perspectives were honored?

This should be a candid reflection in which you present your thoughts in your own words.

Please pay attention to grammar, sentence structure, and spelling. This reflection should be a candid examination of the following and should be presented using your own words.

Consumer interaction with brands

Moreira, Antonio Carrizo, Pedro M. Freitas da Silva and Victor M. Ferreira Moutinho. “The  Effects of Brand Experiences on quality, satisfaction and loyalty: An empirical study in  the telecommunications multiple-play service market.” Innovar (2017): 26-36.

According to the authors, the marketing aspect of a business is continually changing, with  companies emphasizing customer retention more than customer acquisition in a bid to  form long-term relationships with customers. Marketing services is becoming a challenge  due to an array of services provided which customers might understand differently. They  indicate that “Services involve the supply of certain benefits and brand experiences to  customers who might understand the benefits and brand experiences differently, affecting  their level of trust and loyalty” (Moreira, Silva and Moutinho 24). It is crucial to  comprehend how brand loyalty develops in the customers plus how customers perceive  these brands to come up with better marketing strategies. The authors indicate that loyal  customers help grow a business through more purchases, pay better premium prices, and  refer other customers through word of mouth (Moreira, Silva and Moutinho 25).

Busalim, Abdelsalam H., Ab Razak Che Hussin and Noorminshah A. Iahad. “Factors Influencing  Customer Engagement in Social Commerce Websites: A Systematic Literature Review.”  Journal of theoretical and applied electronic commerce research (2019): 1-14.

According to the authors, there is a newly emerging field of e-commerce recognized as  the s-commerce that enables the use of social media in supporting social interactions and  overall user contributions to aid in the purchase and the sale of both products and  services. They indicate that this field has actively transformed the customer’s role into  active players in the transaction process through active participation in the online market.  As a result, it is vital for companies to comprehend the context of s-commerce to enable  them to better interact with customers while maximizing the overall social media effect.  The authors infer that “to harness the impact of s-commerce, there is a need to understand  how brands can leverage social media platforms such as Facebook and Twitter to engage  and collaborate with customers”(Busalim, Hussin and Iahad 2). The authors have  categorized s-commerce into two: social activities and social activities. They indicate that  S-commerce is vital for customers to form brand perception since it enhances customer  loyalty in the long run.

Isoraite, Margarita. “Raising brand awareness through the internet marketing tools.” Independent  Journal of Management & Production (2016).

According to the authors, broken brands globally are ranked by various criteria, including  their monetary value, loyalty, and consumer affection. Every year, there is a growing  importance for the role of the internet in creating a brand reputation. The authors indicate  that for every brand, creating brand awareness is vital. Traditionally, this aspect of brand  awareness was merely tracked through conducting studies and surveys. In social media,  however, the authors infer that marketers have various ways to track brand awareness.  They indicate that “in the social media environment, the company gains an increased  exposure to its brand, often in highly relevant contexts every time a person uses an  application created by or about the company”(Isoraite 321). Brand awareness enables  companies to assess whether their brands cross the minds of the consumers and their  thought on the specified goods category and how fast this happens. An individual user’s  brand evaluation is useless unless they analyze the entire brand.

Jibril, Abdul Bashiru, et al. “The impact of social media on consumer brand loyalty: A mediating  role of online based-brand community.” Cogent Business and Management (2019).

According to the authors, consumers and other marketers have accepted online activities  using social media communication tool. Marketing diverse goods have adopted another  direction enabling sellers to use the internet in engaging customers. The authors indicate  that high internet growth acts as a force that allows customers to pre-purchase various  information-gathering tools on products and services. The authors suggest that “the work  of Adjei, Noble and Noble (2010) posit that social media-based brand communities have  become a communication channel for a customer-to-customer as well as business-to- customers dissemination and sharing of product information and experiences” (Jibril,  Kwarteng and Chovancova 2). Additionally, the authors point out that though most  products are designed for similar purposes, they tend to be undifferentiated based on the  customers’ point of view. Overall identical goods proliferation enhances brand  identification through ample engagement of the customers.
