SF: Literature Review

Please see the Fact Sheet (see attachment) and add additional research information

A total of 8 pages and it does not title page and references.

You will write a literature review that provides the foundation for your Desired Advocacy Outcome (DAO), synthesizing the argument for your Desired Advocacy Outcome (DAO) from the professional literature. This should be a minimum of 8 pages of text *** for the literature view, not inclusive of references, title pages, and other non-text accouterments. This literature review should be based on professional literature. Excellent work will call upon original research publications to integrate them into your discussion (as opposed to consistently referring only to how others interpret that research).  While your opinion is going to play a role in this – this should represent PROFESSIONAL values and not personal values. Fewer than 8 pages of text (not counting reference section) are likely to be insufficient to support your argument APA format for text and citations, double spaced

(D) Literature Review Provide the research and theory that gives evidence for the appropriateness of your Desired Advocacy Outcome (DAO) – what is the research that tells us this is best practice? How strong/consistent are the findings of the research. Course instructor At the very least, all bulleted points on your one-page summary should be addressed here – with strong analysis and syntheses of the research and theory in support of the DAO Includes relevant research and remains on topic Uses professional literature/sources for research Submitted to the instructor via BB as part of the advocacy assignment

 (E) Opposing views (consider this part of the literature review) Include consideration of opposing viewpoints. What are the arguments AGAINST your advocacy outcome? Course instructor Thoughtful consideration to potential opposing views; considerations about anything that would require public funding should be addressed; minimum one page double spaced Submitted to the instructor via BB as part of the advocacy assignment

Deliverable 5 – Executive Summary on Sustainable and Renewable Resources (2-4Pages)

 Competency

Analyze sustainable and renewable resources and their role in business.

Scenario

You are the operations manager for a large manufacturing company. The board of directors for the company is concerned about increasing electric bills. The board is also concerned about environmental impacts of the current energy sources the organization depends on.

The board wants to invest in technology that allows the company to take advantage of renewable and sustainable resource technologies, such as solar or wind power, along with options these technologies have to help select the best fit for the company. The company has money budgeted for this purpose but must explain and justify the expenses to a group of investors.

The board of directors asks that you prepare an Executive Summary for the investors that will explain the technology you recommend. Details on the economic and environmental reasons for this change to renewable resource technology are essential. Include applicable legal, ethical, or financial concerns regarding the use of the technology. Be sure to support your recommendations with credible resources. Using the assigned readings in this module is a good starting point. Research databases are listed in the Resources area below.

Instructions

In this assignment, you have the opportunity to expand your knowledge on renewable and sustainable resource technology while providing the board and a group of investors with an Executive Summary. The audiences may not be familiar with this technology so be thorough in your descriptions and explanations.

In Microsoft Word, create the Executive Summary. The Executive Summary should be 1 – 2 pages and should accomplish these objectives:

  • Describe the recommended technology the business could use to move to more renewable resources (be sure to use credible sources).
  • Support the move to this renewable technology with economic data from similar companies.
  • Support the move to this renewable technology based on environmental conservation factors.
  • Prepare arguments for any legal, ethical, or financial concerns the readers could have with this technology.
  • In an APA formatted reference section, cite supporting credible sources for your recommendation.

I need this 6 page paper completed by 04/06/18 at 11:00am

A major agribusiness is interested in opening a beef confined animal feeding operation (CAFO) in your community. To ensure compliance to procedures, there will be public hearings on the proposal. The local government is very interested in seeing the operation established because it will generate employment and income for the community.  Using the readings for this module, Argosy University online library resources, and the Internet, explain the health impacts the CAFO can have on the community in a 6–8-page research paper. In your research paper, at a minimum, make sure you address the following: 1.Describe the typical health effects a CAFO can have on a community. Remember to: a.Discuss both natural and man-made health issues that may arise from the CAFO. b.Discuss both short- and long-term effects, individual and community effects, and environmental effects.  2.Explain the legal standards surrounding CAFO as they are in the United States, and explain how the local government agencies would respond to help alleviate or mitigate any health risks. 3.Propose specific efforts the community can make to provide risk reduction, risk control, and risk communication, helping to mitigate any negative effects of the CAFO in the community.  Your paper should be written in proper research paper format with full APA compliance, to include a title page, header, page numbers, abstract, use of Level I and II headings, in-text citations, and a properly formatted references page.

This week’s assignment will be your Signature Assignment. You will now apply what you have learned throughout the course by developing a comprehensive strategic D&I program for an organization of your choice. Make sure you can gather a great deal of information from your selected organization. The aim of this plan is to increase diversity awareness and to practice it across the organization. This assignment will be written in the form of a report and shared with executive leadership.

The elements of this report should include:

  1. A brief overview of the organization, its mission, vision, and values.
  2. A brief discussion on why D&I is important for this organization.
  3. A discussion of the diversity dimensions and their characteristics for this organization.
  4. A discussion of the benefits, costs, and ROI for implementing a D&I initiative for this organization.

Your assignment should demonstrate thoughtful consideration of the ideas and concepts presented in the course by providing new thoughts and insights relating directly to this topic. Your response should reflect scholarly writing and current APA standards.

Financing State Government Assignment

Texas Budget Assignment

Last year, Texas legislators approved a $251 billion biennial budget to fund our state government for the next two years. Amazingly, Greg Abbott did not issue a single line-item veto – the first governor since Allan Shivers in 1955 to sign a budget without a single change.

Take a look at the Texas Tribune’s budget breakdown:

https://apps.texastribune.org/features/2019/house-senate-texas-budgets-2020/ (Links to an external site.)

and Texas Tribune’s article about the passage of the bill:

https://www.texastribune.org/2019/05/26/texas-budget-house-senate-2019/ (Links to an external site.)

For this assignment, you are now a state representative serving on the House Appropriations Committee, which is the budget-writing committee chaired until this year by Rep. John Zerwas (R-Richmond), an anesthesiologist who is retiring this year after 12 years in the House of Representatives. For this assignment, you represent the district where you live, wherever that is. What do you think your constituents want in a state budget? Are they more worried about public education? Higher Education? Health care? Highways? Crime? Are they more worried about keeping their taxes down? Without trying to write an entire budget, explain in our standard 2 – 5 page essay what spending priorities would be important to you and why. For what changes would you advocate?

Note: (This is the important part) Texas is required by its Constitution to have a balanced budget, so if you argue in your essay for a $50 million increase in a program that’s important to your district, make sure you tell where you would either cut $50 million from another program, or how you would raise $50 million in additional revenue.

Submit in Word. Cite sources

Managing complex IT Organizational Change

Need help writing a paper In this light, reflect on a subordinate and prepare a somewhat detailed and actionable professional development plan which would be intended for use in a forthcoming performance review session. In this plan, you should hypothetically assume the individual to be reviewed has indicated interest in a long-term organizational career and steady advancement. From your perspective, your plan would include both near- and long-term objectives and milestones to assist this individual in reaching his or her goals. This plan should include traditional professional development issues such as potential schools and assignments as well as some counsel on how to make use of organizational politics (e.g., getting a senior mentor) and maintain a visible, positive profile. Begin the paper with a brief academic review of the importance of subordinate professional development to personal and organizational performance (with appropriate citations), and then follow this with your detailed plan. The plan title might be: “Achieving Personal Success While Advancing Organizational Performance.

The paper needs to be APA format with heading, introduction, body, conclusion, and reference page. PS-This should be about employee professional development. I should see a plan for an IT person you supervise in terms of professional development that benefits the organization, etc.

HR Headline: Pay for Performance Remains Controversial

“Pay for Performance” has made inroads in business, but has remained a hard sell in public school systems. There are some successful examples where teacher pay has been linked to student test scores. For example, in Minnesota, some districts have stopped giving automatic raises for seniority and base 60% of all pay increases on performance. In Denver, unions and school districts designed an incentive program where teachers receive bonuses for student achievement and for earning national teaching certificates. However, some plans have not worked. For example, Cincinnati teachers voted against a merit pay proposal and Philadelphia teachers gave their bonus checks to charity rather than cashing them. It appears that having teachers involved in planning the incentive system is one key factor to success. The same can be said for all incentive plans – if employees don’t buy into them, they will not work.

Your paper may be based on a business entity of your choosing from the public or private sector and must answer the following Research Questions:

1. How could an organization measure the effectiveness of its pay-for-performance plan(s)?

2. From an employee’s perspective, what are the advantages and disadvantages of using a pay-for-performance plan?

3. From an employer’s perspective, what are the advantages and disadvantages of using a pay-for-performance plan?

NRNP WK2 6635 DISCUSSION

Assigned Topic

Quality of Life Enjoyment and Satisfaction Questionnaire Q-LES-Q

Assessment tools have two primary purposes: 1) to measure illness and diagnose clients, and 2) to measure a client’s response to treatment. Often, you will find that multiple assessment tools are designed to measure the same condition or response. Not all tools, however, are appropriate for use in all clinical situations. You must consider the strengths and weaknesses of each tool to select the appropriate assessment tool for your client. For this Discussion, as you examine the assessment tool assigned to you by the Course Instructor, consider its use in psychotherapy.

Week 8 Discussion 1

To prepare for the Week 8 Shared Practice, reflect on your professional experience with leaders with whom you have interacted as a follower, colleague, or supervisor. Consider the strengths and weaknesses these professionals had with regard to leadership and management skills. How well did they perform their roles as managers and as leaders?

Then, identify from your professional experience a leader with whom you have interacted as a follower, colleague, or supervisor that matches only one of the following descriptions:

He or she is a good leader lacking effective managing skills.

He or she is a good manager lacking effective leadership skills.

He or she is an effective leader and manager.

He or she is a neither a good leader nor manager.

Once you have identified a leader from your professional experience that matches one of the descriptions listed above, do the following:

With these thoughts in mind:

Post:

Without giving the actual name of the leader you have selected, identify his or her strengths and weaknesses as a leader and as a manager. Then distinguish his or her leadership skills from his or her management skills.

Provide an analysis of the effect he or she had on the business environment where you worked at the time.   300 words in APA format

NCM_Journal Review_7

Each student will conduct a search of University’s online Library resources to find 1 recent peer reviewed article (within the past 3 years) that closely relate to Strategies to Overcome a Hostile Negotiating Environment. Your submission must include the following information in the following format:

Key Concept:

  • Strategies to Overcome a Hostile Negotiating Environment

DEFINITION: a brief definition of the key term followed by the APA reference for the term; this does not count in the word requirement.

ANALYSIS: Using 450 words, write a brief analysis, in your own words of how the article relates to the selected chapter Key Term. An analysis is not rehashing what was already stated in the article, but the opportunity for you to add value by sharing your experiences, thoughts and opinions. This is the most important part of the assignment.

HUGE HINT for Journal Article Review Analysis Sections. READ THIS NOW!

You should incorporate these topics into your analysis section. If you do, then the chances of earning a high grade are GREATLY increased, in fact, this is the FIRST thing I look for when grading your papers.

1. Explain why you selected this particular article among all the articles you could have chosen on your selected term.

2. Explain why you agree or disagree with the author’s key positions in the article.

3. Explain how the article was easy or difficult to understand and why?

4. What did the author do well in your opinion? Explain.

5. Describe what you believe the author could have done better in your opinion?

6. What else should the author have included in the article and would the article benefit from a different perspective (such as from a different nationality or different industry or experience perspective). Explain.

7. What other sources or methods could the author have used to improve the research in the article?  (Hint: look up the types of qualitative and types of quantitative research methods).

8. What information / in-depth study / or further research should the author focus on as a follow up to this article and why?

9. Explain what audience would gain the most benefit from your selected article and how they could apply it in their professional lives.

10. What did you personally gain from this article and how has it shaped your thinking on the topic?

11. What are the conflicting or alternative viewpoints of the author’s position? Or  What additional research backs up and confirms or adds to the author’s position?  (Hint: this will require you to find another peer-reviewed article that challenges, confirms, or adds to, or provides a different perspective to your chosen article.)

Next,  I look for the summary, writing quality, and formatting.

I am typically very lenient on the writing because I am more focused on your content, but I will also point out how the paper could be better written. I only heavily penalize poorly written papers when there are excessive writing problems.

Why do I grade papers in this class this way?

One of the key differences in a Bachelor’s vs Master’s level is critical thinking. Bachelor’s level basically challenges direct knowledge and recall of information. The Master’s level is more about analysis and critical thinking and defending your position in a scholarly way. The analysis section of these papers is your opportunity to exercise critical thinking (that’s why I call this portion of your papers critiques).

Recalling or simply explaining the journal articles is a bachelor’s level task. When I see this in your papers I give the paper an automatic C. If the paper is poorly written it also gets an F.

To get a B or an A – you must provide a critique of the paper and the author and how well the author did and what you think of the article. The questions listed above do this properly.

I do not want to read your version of the journal article. I may as well read the journal article for myself.  Just briefly describe the article in your summary section  – but the analysis section is where you put in your personal critique – in other words, address the questions listed above and even add in additional thoughts based on your own creativity.
