Regression Modeling

 Purpose

This assignment provides an opportunity to develop, evaluate, and apply bivariate and multivariate linear regression models.

Resources: Attached Data File Excel Document

Instructions:

The Excel file for this assignment contains a database with information about the tax assessment value assigned to medical office buildings in a city. The following is a list of the variables in the database:

  • FloorArea: square feet of floor space
  • Offices: number of offices in the building
  • Entrances: number of customer entrances
  • Age: age of the building (years)
  • AssessedValue: tax assessment value (thousands of dollars)

Use the data to construct a model that predicts the tax assessment value assigned to medical office buildings with specific characteristics.

  • Construct a scatter plot in Excel with FloorArea as the independent variable and AssessmentValue as the dependent variable. Insert the bivariate linear regression equation and r^2 in your graph. Do you observe a linear relationship between the 2 variables?
  • Use Excel’s Analysis ToolPak to conduct a regression analysis of FloorArea and AssessmentValue. Is FloorArea a significant predictor of AssessmentValue?
  • Construct a scatter plot in Excel with Age as the independent variable and AssessmentValue as the dependent variable. Insert the bivariate linear regression equation and r^2 in your graph. Do you observe a linear relationship between the 2 variables?
  • Use Excel’s Analysis ToolPak to conduct a regression analysis of Age and Assessment Value. Is Age a significant predictor of AssessmentValue?

Construct a multiple regression model.

  • Use Excel’s Analysis ToolPak to conduct a regression analysis with AssessmentValue as the dependent variable and FloorArea, Offices, Entrances, and Age as independent variables. What is the overall fit r^2? What is the adjusted r^2?
  • Which predictors are considered significant if we work with α=0.05? Which predictors can be eliminated?
  • What is the final model if we only use FloorArea and Offices as predictors?
  • Suppose our final model is:
  • AssessedValue = 115.9 + 0.26 x FloorArea + 78.34 x Offices
  • What wouldbe the assessed value of a medical office building with a floor area of 3500 sq. ft., 2 offices, that was built 15 years ago? Is this assessed value consistent with what appears in the database?

Submit your assignment.

When explaining the structure of HIV/AIDS to the patient, always ensure that they should understand it and do not  use much of jargon .The main goal of the meeting should be to explain the concept of HIV AIDS to the client. Therefore, use a simple accurate and concise approach.

It is Human Immunodeficiency Virus which mean a virus that can cause deficiencies in human immune system. The immune system is our army against the diseases. If HIV is not treated it leads to AIDS- Acquired immune deficiency syndrome (immune less state) – because of HIV the patient acquires these immune deficiencies and become susceptible to all sorts of infections. It takes months to years to reach from HIV to AIDS.

HIV attack on our CD4 cells and T helper cells- the cells are warriors in our immune cell and over the time take over them. It overtakes the immune cell machinery and use it against the body immune cells.

HIV is round shaped virus with two single strands of RNA.RNA is used to carry genetic information. HIV virus enters the cell copies its genetic information. For HIV to be able to enter the cell the cell must have CD4 receptor. With passage of time, it keeps killing immune cells and fail the immune system of the human. When CD4 cell count goes below 200 cell/mm3.A healthy human has CD4 count from 500-1000 cells/mm3. The viral load is the number of HIV particles in a milliliter (mL) of blood. Higher the viral load means more copies of HIV in blood and more infection. Antiretroviral therapy can make the viral load low and reduce the HIV effect and delay or reduce chances of AIDS.

You are the fire marshal in your jurisdiction. The fire chief asks you to put together a report highlighting the impact and return on investment the fire prevention division has on the safety of the community. The chief has asked that you submit your report in writing so that it can be reviewed and discussed at the next staff meeting. With the current budget constraints, several members of the city council feel like there are more important areas and programs that need funding. If your report is approved, it will be presented at the next city council meeting.

  • Explain the rationale and benefit of inspection and code enforcement policies and general fire safety provisions as methods of fire protection.
  • Examine the interrelationship of regulatory practices in fire prevention by identifying how inspection and code enforcement activities tie into the success of public education programs, plans review, and fire investigations on community resilience.
  • Discuss the importance of general fire safety provisions for occupied buildings, including fire suppression systems, and characteristics of unsafe structures in your community.
  • Identify the short-term and long-term benefits to your community through investments, including the practice of fire-resistant materials.
  • Provide an overview of the fire prevention division and activities, including professional development process for code enforcement practitioners.
  • Provide some background demographics of your community related to the project (i.e., common occupancies, high call volume areas, types of calls, fire activity, etc.), including the building code development and modification process.
  • Identify benefits of inspection and code enforcement for the community and the organization versus the cost of performance.

Chapter 4I went to 3 different gym locations in Los Angeles and asked 100 men and 100 women these 3 questions. “Do you ever feel uncomfortable working out at the gym? How often do you come to the gym? Would you prefer to workout at a gender segregated gym? 12% of men and 67% of women said that they have felt uncomfortable working out at the gym? 32% of men said they come to the gym 3 times a week, and 63% of women said they come to the gym once a week. 2% of men and 29% of women said that they would prefer to workout at a gender segregated gym. This shows a trend that tells me a few things. One thing I noticed is that the high percent of women feeling uncomfortable at the gym may be directly correlated to the lackof frequency throughout the week at the gym for women. Only 15% of women said that they go to the gym more than twice a week. Also, thelow percentage of both men and women that would prefer gender segregated gyms has a particular connotation to it as well. The fact that almost all the people questioned have never experienced a gender segregated gym and also the fact that the idea of seeing great bodies of the opposite sex is part of motivation to come to the gym in general for both men and women. Most women said they feel that the attention they get from the men at the gym seems aggressive, but they still appreciate some attention, however. Men also enjoy having the women to motivate them to showcase their strength atthe gym but also a substantial motivator as well. This tell me that the gym culture with both me and women sharing thatspace with boosted testosterone and skintight clothing teasing the mind of the lurkers, that sexual harassment is normal in this environment. Out of the 100 women questioned 73% of them have said that they have been harassed or even stalked by someone at the gym. This tells me that there needs to be more options for these women to go workout and not have to just hope they don’t get pressured by a overly aggressive creep at the gym. There’s a need fora chain of commercial women only gyms that women can feel comfortable in. Not only a safe haven away from potential harassmentfrom these overly aggressive men but also a place where the shy can come improve their body and not feel embarrassed because men are around.  Also a place they don’t have to feel intimidated by these

stereotypes about how lifting weights will make you look like a man, but they will see other women that are beautiful and strong and realizethat there are tons of benefits in weightlifting and it will not make you look like a man. Learn tips from female fitness professionals and learnabout how fitness can help them with their pains throughout their menstrual cycle as well s stress relief. These are just some examples of things that women will be more open to learning without the intimidations of men being around preventing that.

Healthcare Management

You are a healthcare administrator at a large metropolitan teaching hospital. Your hospital is in the middle of a crisis involving surgical residents. In recent years, the level of operating room deaths involving surgeries that your residents have been involved in has increased. As a result, the number of malpractice suits that have been leveled against your hospital has also increased. This is not only reducing the hospital’s revenue, but it is also damaging the reputation of the hospital. An internal investigation has shown that many of the surgical residents have been performing two to three surgeries back to back after working a 24-hour shift. Your human resources department had indicated that this could be a contributing factor in the number of operating room deaths.

Compose an essay in which you detail the following points regarding this crisis:

  • Identify and define the crisis type that the hospital is experiencing.
  • Describe the crisis management triad and how it could be utilized in this situation.
  • Describe how you plan to improve the performance of the surgical residents and how your plan could improve patient care by reducing the number of operating room deaths.

Your essay should consist of at least three pages, not including your title page or reference page. Please be sure that all sources, including your textbook, are cited and referenced properly using APA formatting. You must utilize at least two sources for your response.
