I have struggled with working with clients who appeared dependent on vocal verbal prompting. I worked with a client that was 5 years old non-verbal and we would use verbal prompts to get him to clap his hands and it was extremely hard to fade after a while on working on the skill. To transfer stimulus control to a naturally occurring stimulus we used musical instruments to clap instead of saying clap your hands.

I have used verbal prompts for many of my clients. I currently work with a 3 year old who often becomes distracted, do I use verbal prompts to bring him back to what we were doing. If he is working on a puzzle and becomes distracted, I say “puzzle.” This often brings him back to working on his puzzle. Sometimes, however, he is so distracted that a verbal prompt doesn’t work. In this case, I tap the table to draw his attention back to the puzzle that he is working on.

ZCorp is a global financial institution that intends to add Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6) to its existing network. Local routers are providing network services such as Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP), network address translation (NAT), and Domain Name System (DNS). It is using Enhanced Interior Gateway Routing Protocol (EIGRP) as its interior gateway protocol and Exterior Gateway Protocol (EGP) as its exterior gateway protocol. Its wide area network (WAN) involves multiple T3 connections and the use of Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM). It is unclear to the ZCorp information technology (IT) staff whether they should replace Internet Protocol version 4 (IPv4) with IPv6 or use both versions of IP (dual-stack operation).

Your mission is to prepare a proposal document that makes a recommendation for either replacing IPv4 with IPv6 or using both versions of IP. This recommendation must be supported and explained in detail. Research IPv4 and IPv6 to understand differences, benefits, and challenges. Seek information regarding LANs implementing dual protocol stacks. Make a recommendation for: a) replacing IPv4 with IPv6 and b) using IPv4 and IPv6 together (dual-stack operation).   We all hear a lot in the news (and in our environmental scanning articles) about what the economy is currently doing—some say its improving while others say it is getting worse and is going to continue to get worse. Who is right and who is wrong? In this project we will analyze the situation and attempt to decide for ourselves, based on real data and information, if it is actually getting better or worse.

          Each student should choose four annual economic indicators as presented since the Great Recession began in 2006. (There are literally hundreds of indicators on various web sites). These indicators will explain what the current economic situation is actually doing—is it getting better or worse, positive or negative, going up or down? 

          In the final project you and/or your team are to study these indicators, analyze them, add a severe injection of critical thinking, and actually develop a possible solution or solutions to the economic problems facing this country today. You will need to include in your analysis what each indicator signifies to the economy, how each affects the economy, and what has happened with each indicator since the recession began.

          This will be a comprehensive report. Provide proof for every analysis and solution offered in your report. The report will need to be at least two pages in length. The length is not as important as the quality of the contents (research). You will need to base your solution(s) on actual data (facts) and on sound economic principles and/or theories as presented throughout the text. Include as much of the research documentation as possible. This project will be due during or before the last week of class. This project is considered the final exam and will count a maximum of 100 points toward your final point total.
