introduces your chosen professional occupation, explaining what it is and why it interests you. Using information gathered from your research, provide a description of the knowledge, skills, and characteristics one would need to be successful in this position. Summarize some of the tasks you might be expected to perform. Discuss what additional schooling, if any, is needed for this occupation.

discusses research questions in your chosen field and what research methods have been used to answer these questions. First, find three journal articles that are actual studies (not review articles, background information, etc.) that are from your field of interest. Discuss what research questions have been asked in your field. How were the studies were carried out (methods)? What have the findings been? What questions still remain?

discusses a particular aspect of your chosen professional role within the context of social change. For example, you might discuss being a counselor who provides pro-bono counseling to abused women or being a sports psychologist who offers visualization training for at-risk youth involved in school sports.

Explain why you chose your particular example and why it is important to include an aspect of social change in both career and personal endeavors. Next, explain the particular web map of social activity that would result from your chosen example

    Context
Using health care information systems to effect change is critical to creating quality outcomes. A leader in practice for care coordination needs to be able to measure and evaluate change using data.
    Requirements
You will develop a presentation for the leaders of a health care organization or community-based care delivery service in which you explore current organizational or community resources for a specific situation related to care delivery. Your presentation will include either voice-over or video of you speaking about your presentation to the audience. Your slides should include bulleted points (one line each) that highlight your points for each topic. Your slides should not be text-intensive; put all the details in the speaker notes.
    PRESENTATION FORMAT AND LENGTH
At a minimum, your presentation must include the following slides:

    • Title.
    • Purpose (the reasons for your presentation).
    • A specific situation related to care delivery and current organizational or community resources.
    • The legal and ethical issues that can occur due to the current practice.
    • Recommendations for improvement and a comparison to current practice.
    • An evidence-based intervention.
    • Explanation of data use and interprofessional support.
    • References (at the end of your presentation).
    • The content of your presentation should consist of 8–10 slides, not including the title, purpose, and references slides. Do not exceed 10 slides as this could create problems for submitting your work to SafeAssign.
Note: You may vary from the suggestion above, but you must meet all the criteria listed below. Please read the full instructions carefully.
      SUPPORTING EVIDENCE
      In your presentation:
    • Cite 5–7 sources of credible, scholarly, or professional evidence to support your analysis and recommendations.
    • List your sources on the references slide.
    • PRESENTATION TOOLS
You may use Microsoft PowerPoint or any other suitable presentation software to create your slides. If you elect to use an application other than PowerPoint, check with your faculty to avoid potential file compatibility issues.
Use the speaker’s notes section of each slide to develop your talking points and cite your sources, as appropriate. If you need help designing your presentation, you are encouraged to review the various presentation resources provided for this assessment. These resources will help you to design an effective presentation, whether you choose to use PowerPoint or other presentation software.
You have the option of either recording a voice-over track for your presentation or creating a video of you speaking about your presentation to the audience. In the latter, the presentation will be in the background and you will be on camera. In either case, you may use Kaltura or similar software for your audio or video recording. If using Kaltura, refer to the Using Kaltura tutorials for directions on recording and uploading your media in the courseroom.
Note: If you require the use of assistive technology or alternative communication methods to participate in this activity, please contact [email protected] to request accommodations.
      Directions
Note: The requirements outlined below correspond to the grading criteria in the scoring guide. Be sure that your presentation addresses each point, at a minimum. You may also want to read the Community Resources and Best Practices Scoring Guide to better understand how each criterion will be assessed.
For this assessment, you will create a presentation for the leaders of a health care organization or community-based care delivery service to explore current organizational or community resources for a specific situation related to care delivery. Following these instructions will help ensure you meet the scoring guide criteria:
    • Begin your presentation with a description or summary of a specific situation related to care delivery and current practices. Analyze the legal and ethical issues that can occur due to the current practice.
    • Recommend best practices (interventions) and compare against current practice outcomes or data. Include the positive effects of the intervention for the support of ethical and legal practices.
    • Identify an effective evidence-based intervention from existing research applicable to your situation. Define stakeholders, including organizations, settings, and populations affected. Be inclusive when considering the range of stakeholders.
    • Define interprofessional support for the intervention. Explain not only if this includes stakeholders, but also who is responsible in collaboration with care coordination leader for developing, implementing, and sustaining the intervention.
    • Explain how you will measure baseline data. (What data are currently in place? Does current data show if practices are effective? Are benchmarks being met? Is there a gap in practice?) Define the scheduled evaluation periods you will use to monitor and measure data outcomes (for example, systematic evaluations or other).
    • Conclude by developing recommendations to sustain the intervention outcomes for improved practice.
    • Scoring Guide Criteria
Your assessment should meet the following scoring guide criteria:
    1. Analyze the ethical issues pertaining to using health care information systems for care coordination.
    2. Evaluate the legal issues of current practices and potential changes.
    3. Compare current outcomes to outcomes seen with best practices.
    4. Identify an appropriate evidence-based intervention.
    5. Define role of stakeholders and interprofessional teams in an intervention.
    6. Explain the use of data-driven outcomes, including data measures and evaluation periods.
    7. Recommend ongoing practices to sustain outcomes.
    8. Communicate effectively in a manner consistent with professional and scholarly expectations.
    9. Additional Requirements
Your assessment should also meet the following requirements:
    • Communication: Communicate in a manner that is scholarly, professional, respectful, and consistent with expectations for professional practice in education. Original work and critical thinking are required regarding your assessment and scholarly writing. Your writing must be free of errors that detract from the overall message.

 Task 2 of 3 Power-point Presentation – 2 (ACs 1.2, 1.3, 4.1 & 4.2)
Instructions

The producers of the show were happy with your video and decided to put you through to the show. And you did relatively well throughout the episodes. As the show progressed, it became apparent that John Smith had an appetite for business and almost limitless funds. John Smith made a fortune by launching new companies to compete against existing successful organisations or by purchasing and improving stagnating or failing organisation.

In one episode you have been assigned the task of selecting an organisation, analyse its operational functions and evaluate it before making your conclusions. You should then either propose to purchase the existing company to improve it or to launch a new competitor. Either way, you should then propose new operational outcomes as well as produce a network plan indicating critical path(s).

You should present this to John Smith (played by your Lecturer) in a 15 minutes’ pitch in the boardroom (your fellow students will be board members).

Submission

Power-point Slides covering the topic required (500 words)

 Task 3 of 3 Reflections (ACs 3.1, 3.2 & 3.3)
Instructions

During your time serving as a board member you witnessed other pitches as John Smith believes that observing others allows for better self-evaluation. After the show, you have been asked by a popular business magazine to write a 500 words article about what went well and what could have been done better regarding your proposed operational outcomes and your proposed network plan & critical path(s). The article should reinforce the need for operational planning and how it adds values.

Fundamental of Reimbursment In Healthcare Due 05.21.2021

Primary Task Response: Within the Discussion Board area, write 200–250 words that respond to the following questions with your thoughts, ideas, and comments. This will be the foundation for future discussions by your classmates. Be substantive and clear, and use examples to reinforce your ideas.

You are a new graduate, and you just started work at a medium-sized hospital with an attached clinic. You have been asked to review the five different types of health care insurance plans—that is, Medicare, Medicaid, TRICARE, worker’s compensation, and commercial insurance—and the characteristics of each to make sure that the central business office (CBO) is up-to-date on all of the rules and regulations. It is important to be familiar with these plans and the characteristics of each because they play a vital role in the reimbursement process for your health care organization. Discuss the following:

  • List 2 characteristics of each of the five different types of health care plans.
  • What are some of the differences between the plans?

Note that it is important to remember that health insurance is a contract between a policyholder (the insured) and a third-party payer or government health program that reimburses the policyholder for all or a portion of the cost of treatment or preventive care given by a health care professional or physician.

Discussion 2: Influence of Neuroscience on Cognitive Research

Scientists have engaged in study to determine whether or not the parts of the brain specialize in one task exclusively, performing an action repetitively like factory workers on a traditional assembly line. Some theorize that individual neural regions specialize in various tasks, at times even “contracting” one another for collaborative interactions (Kanwisher, 2010).

However the brain conducts its processing, the manner in which this occurs directly influences how humans appear on the “outside.” Thus, if human attitudes toward ethnically different groups correspond with “increased activity in the amygdala, dorsolateral prefrontal cortex, and anterior cingulate cortex,” (2008, p. 65) a deeper understanding of this activity may correlate with greater awareness of the mechanisms behind stereotyping and prejudice.

It is now possible to examine questions such as these using the arsenal of research methodologies available to cognitive research. Some examples of these methodologies include functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI), Positron Emission Tomography (PET), Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS), and Magnetoencephalograpy (MEG).

For this Discussion, you identify a major impact of neuroscience on cognitive psychology. You then explain impacts of neuroscience on social change. You also consider a related question you find interesting and describe effective research methods for investigating it. Locate five articles published in the last five years in peer-reviewed journals that document research involving questions and methodologies that you find interesting.

With these thoughts in mind:

By Day 4

Post a brief explanation of one major impact neuroscience has had on the field of cognitive psychology. Explain how neuroscience might influence social change. Then research one question related to cognitive psychology that is interesting to you. Finally, discuss the research method you would use to investigate that question and explain why your selected method might be most suitable.

Starbucks project

  1. Read the 5-page case study, “For Starbucks, It’s in the Bag.”

  2. In MLA format , write a three-page research paper about the following:

    1. What methods did Starbucks use that were discussed this semester?

    2. How did Starbucks determine how to define quality?

    3. What changes did Starbucks make to improve their products and/or processes?  What processes/products were improved?

  3. In your paper’s organization, I would like to see at least the following:

    1. Introduction – The introduction is just a summary telling the reader what your paper is going to talk about.  In this case, it shouldn’t be more than a couple or three paragraphs at most probably.

    2. You could probably break the rest of the paper into three or four sections covering topics such as Starbucks’ research methods, their processes and products, their results, etc.  It doesn’t HAVE TO BE organized this way.  I’m just giving these as examples of how your paper might logically flow.

    3. At the end, you will want to do a closing section that summarizes what you’re trying to get across to your reader.

  4. Be sure to do the following:

    1. Cite your sources.  Be sure to go out and fine at least five or six outside sources (other than the case study itself and your textbook–they don’t count).  Do not use Wikipedia.  It is not considered a valid source for academic work.

    2. Run spell- and grammar-check on your paper before you submit it.  Spelling and grammar can cost you points, so I would

      1. Run it through a checker.

      2. Read it and re-read it yourself.

      3. Have someone else read it and mark it up with any mistakes or things that don’t make sense.  Other people see the things we don’t especially when we’ve been reading it, re-reading it, and so on.

    3. Save your final document as a pdf and submit it as an attachment.

The purpose of this paper is to demonstrate your grasp of the material.  If you see where Starbucks used a method or addressed a problem that was covered this semester, you should include that.  If you see how their quality or process was improved in a way that you recognize from this semester, show that in your write-up.  You don’t want to just re-write what you have read in the case study.

There is an old explanation of successful public speaking that says you should tell your audience what you’re going to tell them (the introduction), tell them (the main body), and then tell them what you told them (conclusion/summary).  Research papers of this type are not much different.

It should go without saying, but I will say it anyway that this is a solo project, meaning no group effort.  This applies to groups of classmates working together as well as getting outside help of any kind (other than the aforementioned proofreading–that’s ok).
