ZERO PLAGIARISM

Although experiential therapy and narrative  therapy are both used in family therapy, these therapeutic approaches have many differences in theory and application. As you assess families and develop treatment plans, you must consider these differences and their potential impact on clients. For this Assignment, you compare Experiential and Narrative Family Therapy.

Learning Objectives

Students will:
  • Compare experiential family therapy to narrative family therapy
  • Justify recommendations for family therapy
To prepare:
  • Review this week’s Learning Resources and reflect on the insights they provide on experiential and family therapies.

The Assignment

In a 2- to 3-page paper, address the following:

  • Summarize the key points of both experiential family therapy and narrative family therapy.
  • Compare experiential family therapy to narrative family therapy, noting the strengths and weakness of each.
  • Provide a description of a family that you think experiential family therapy would be appropriate, explain why, and justify your response using the Learning Resources.

Note: The College of Nursing requires that all papers submitted include a title page, introduction, summary, and references. The sample paper provided by the Walden Writing Center provides examples of those required elements (available at  http://writingcenter.waldenu.edu/57.htm). All papers submitted must use this formatting.

Part 2: Family Genogram

Develop a genogram for the client family you selected. The genogram should extend back at least three generations (parents, grandparents, and great grandparents).

Deliverable 5 – Performance Enhancement

Scenario

You are the new project manager for the operations unit of Charleston General Hospital. The hospital is facing challenges of long wait times at the ED resulting in a high number of patients leaving without being seen (LWBS) and long admission holds in the ED. Upon initial assessment, you determine that the two challenges are related and are caused by inefficiencies in process flow.

Instructions

Develop a process map to evaluate and suggest a redesign of the current challenges. Process maps are graphical depictions of a process. The process map (flow chart) shows the sequence of tasks, decisions, and all other related activities that results from inputs and outputs.

Your map should include a visual illustration of different processes that can be employed by Charleston General to improve the flow of operations in the ED. Attach a summary of the proposed changes reflected in the process map to explain how the changes can improve performance outcomes for the ED.

Rubric:

Process map thoroughly evaluated the selected health organization challenges with strong detail and supporting information and made connections between the identified challenges.

Suggested a detailed redesign of the selected challenge with strong detail and supporting information.

Process map was clearly organized, professional, and easy to read.

Supreme Court Ruling Analysis

Write an essay analyzing the following key Supreme Court rulings:

•Roe v. Wade (abortion rights): http://www.oyez.org/cases/1970-1979/1971/1971_70_

Essay must be at least 400 words long:

Answer these questions to complete your analysis of your selected Supreme Court ruling.

•Tell the reader which of the five key Supreme Court ruling you selected to analyze.

•What was the law being challenged in the case?

•Tell me any of the states or government entities that were part of the case.

•Who was the Petitioner in the Case?

•What was the Petitioner’s argument?

•Who was Respondent?

•What was the Respondent’s argument?

•What part or parts of the Constitution were discussed in the case?

•Why were those parts of the Constitution discussed in the case?

•What was the final Supreme Court ruling by ◦What was the final score of the case was (for example 5 to 4 or 7 to 2 or some other combo that, in most cases, adds up to 9) ◦What was the date that the case was decided? ◦Which side won, was it the petitioner or the respondent? ◦What did it mean that this particular side won?

•This is the most important part of the assignment: how does this case currently impact your life and the lives of Americans? Explore the political and electoral consequences of the ruling. Don’t just say, for example in the case of Roe v. Wade, women can now have abortions because only a small percent of the population is of childbearing potential – how did the case impact everyone else more generally? Think about how even this current or most recent presidential election was impacted by the ruling you have analyzed.

 •Provide a reference list.

Each weekly journal will be 1-2 pages and will include 2 sources in the media that relate to the reading that week. The purpose of this assignment, which will continue throughout the semester, is to encourage you to think in a sociological manner and learn to apply sociology and social problems theory to events in everyday life. You should learn to integrate the ideas we discuss in class and start to regard aspects of society critically. Each journal entry should be dated, typed, single-spaced and include citations.

For each journal entry you should include the following: Choose 1 or more concepts or themes from the chapters.

Define the concept or theme in your own words.

Locate 2 items in the media (e.g., news source, journal or magazine article, working paper, video, television show, or blog) that link to the concept/theme. Summarize the connection or the significance of each source to the concept/theme from the textbook.

Critical analysis (you may consider the following questions: how is the social problem is being framed [person vs. structure blame]; are there any solutions proposed and by whom; is there anything not considered in the source that should be; does the information in the source contradict the text; etc.).

Bibliographic information about the source (e.g., title, author, publication).Your entries should be critical and academically enlightening. They also should reflect a sociological perspective. You should provide evidence from the material you are analyzing to support your ideas and have some connection to the text. These journals are not formal essays, but they should still follow an organizational structure. Therefore, they should contain an introductory paragraph, a body consisting of two to three paragraphs, and a concluding paragraph.  Since you will be using course content and outside sources, you will need to cite the source of your information.  Please use the American Psychological Association (APA) formatting.

Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog was very comedic but had a bigger meaning behind the story, which I really enjoyed watching. I believe that the narrative is a tragedy. It is a tragedy because even though Dr. Horrible got into the evil league of evil, he lost the love of his life doing so. At the end of act three, it shows Dr. Horrible being excited about being in the evil league of evil and then shows Billy very sad for the last scene. This leads me to believe that the narrative is a tragedy, not a triumph.

2.)      When considering Dr. Hammer vs. Dr. Horrible, I don’t believe either of them won. Dr. Hammer didn’t win because he hurt himself trying to use Dr. Horrible’s death ray and he lost Penny. Dr. Horrible won in the sense of getting into the evil league of evil but he had killed Penny in the process of achieving his goal. So, therefore, he didn’t win because he lost the love of his life.

3.)      I think Billy and Dr. Horrible are very different. Billy seems to be the alter ego of Dr. Horrible. According to “APA Dictionary of Psychology, an alter ego is “a second identity or aspect of a person that exists metaphorically as his or her substitute or representative, with different characteristics” (American Psychological Association para 1). Billy is Dr. Horrible’s second identity that falls in love with Penny and wants to do good for her. I think Billy would have been the predominant persona if Penny didn’t die, but because she is gone I think Dr. Horrible will remain the predominant persona now. Going back to who wins and who loses, when looking at Billy vs. Dr. Horrible, I think Billy lost because he was the identify that loved Penny. Dr. Horrible won because he was now a part of the evil league of evil which is what he always wanted.

4.)      For Dr. Horrible, I believe that his behaviors do not reflect who he really is, rather who he wants to be. I think Billy is who Dr. Horrible really is but he doesn’t want to be the sweet and caring guy that Billy comes across as. For Dr. Hammer, I think his behaviors reflect how he wants others to see him, but not who he really is. When Dr. Hammer has interactions with Dr. Horrible, he is a terrible person. When Dr. Hammer has interactions with Penny, he is very sweet and makes Penny fall in love with him even though that isn’t who he really is.

5.)      I believe it is what we do that makes a person good or evil. For instance, Dr. Horrible is evil because he went to try and kill Dr. Hammer which is an evil act. He ends up killing Penny instead and joins the evil league of evil. If Dr. Horrible wasn’t evil, he wouldn’t have joined the evil league of evil after killing the love of his life; he would be mourning her and do whatever it takes to do good in honor of her. Dr. Hammer is also evil because he tried to kill Dr. Horrible and was evil towards Billy when they met at the laundromat. Penny is good because she cared for the homeless and took action to make the world a better place.

Thesis Statement

Instructions

Rather than taking a final examination for this course, you will demonstrate your grasp of the topics through a multi-stage research project.  In this paper you will select a terrorist strategy used between the 1950s and present day which was/is a threat to the United States and its national interests. The final paper must include a brief history of the strategy as well as answer the following questions:  Why is this a terrorist strategy? Which terrorists use this strategic method?  Why? When is this strategic method effective?  Why? What are the flaws of this strategy?  Why? and What infrastructures support the use of this method as part of a terrorist strategy?  How and Why?

This research paper project is divided into four stages, each of which is graded separately and required in order to receive a passing grade in the course.  The purpose behind dividing the paper into four checkpoints is that it encourages you to work on it throughout the term and to ensure that the topic incident chosen is acceptable to the instructor.

Thesis Statement

Your thesis statement should summarize the main arguments you will be making in your final paper.  This may change as you move forward, but it will be your general road map.

NU560-8D-Unit 6 Discussion 2 reply 1

For my current project, there are several assumptions that I have that the evidence will reveal to be true. For example, I assume that the evidence will show that lifestyle modifications are more effective than blood pressure medications at lowering blood pressure (Zheng et al., 2019). This is true if it is done in the right way. I also believe that the research will show that there blood pressure can be managed with simple lifestyle modifications and results will be seen in as little as three months and will not take a full year.

Receptive to Other Research Findings

Currently, I am receptive to findings that do not agree with my assumptions. For example, there may be studies that indicate lifestyle factors that do not show as much influence on blood pressure (Victor et al., 2018). Also, there may be studies that show that medications are more effective at lowering blood pressure compared to lifestyle interventions. It is important for a nurse to take into contrary points of view when looking at the truth of research and implementing it into practice (Gray et al., 2017). Evidence based practice must be viewed from multiple viewpoints on an issue for the highest quality evidence.

Forming my Own Conclusions

In terms of my current research, I have not yet formed all conclusions about my topic. However, doing the research and examining each study, gives the reader a strong indication of the current literature and based off of that some early conclusions may be drawn. I currently am looking for both evidence that supports my claim for the research project and contrary evidence to understand all current points of views. This is done to examine multiple aspects of the research question.

For the initial post, respond to one of the following options, and label the beginning of your post indicating either Option 1 or Option 2:

· Option 1: The Equal Rights Amendment was first proposed almost a century ago and has still not been added to the United States Constitution. It is supposed to guarantee equal legal rights for all American citizens regardless of sex. It was first introduced to Congress by Alice Paul, leader of women’s suffrage movement in 1923. Compare/contrast the Equal Rights Amendment with the Fourteenth Amendment. Did they deal with separate concepts? Explain your answer.

· Option 2: The Bill of Rights is not only included with the United States Constitution but also state constitutions. All states have provisions in their constitutions that protect individual rights. Go online and look up your state constitution concerning amendments that are included in the Bill of Rights. How does your state constitution protect your individual rights?

Be sure to make connections between your ideas and conclusions and the research, concepts, terms, and theory we are discussing this week.

Business Discussion Board

Both innovation and entrepreneurship are widely touted as essential components of business and economic growth, as reflected in the epigraph. Discussion of the topics is almost unavoidable in business and government circles. Because growth in entrepreneurship and increased innovation are goals pursued simultaneously, a better understanding of the relationship between innovation and entrepreneurship has widespread practical implications for business. However, professionals and researchers from every facet of business continue to disagree on the precise definitions of both concepts, much less the relationship between them. Researchers also debate the overall impact of entrepreneurship and innovation and the factors that promote them.

Nonetheless, as more professionals engage in this debate, the academic and professional business communities gain valuable insights into this important relationship. These insights have implications not only for business and society as a whole but also for individual global change agent professionals who make decisions on an everyday basis.

To prepare for this Discussion, review this week’s Learning Resources and consider your personal and professional experiences with innovation and entrepreneurship.

By Day 3

Post an analysis of the relationship between global entrepreneurship and innovation within organizations. Your analysis should include the following:

  • 1. The implications of this relationship for individuals and global change agents within organizations
  • 2. Specifics about how this relationship affects your own approach as a global change agent to risk taking and the way your personal strengths may or may not reflect the relationship between global innovation and entrepreneurship

Be sure to support your work with a minimum of two specific citations from this week’s Learning Resources and one or more additional scholarly sources.

Refer to the Week 6 Discussion Rubric for specific grading elements and criteria. Your Instructor will use this rubric to assess your work.
