Need for 2 students

Research Paper: This is a graduate course and students will be expected to research and write papers summarizing in their own words what they have found on current topics from the weekly readings. Research is a theoretical review of relevant literature and application of findings in the literature to a topic related to a specific industry, field, or business problem.

 Assignment Requirements:

  1. Choose a research topic from the chapter readings or from the list provided by your professor.
  2. Research/find a minimum at least four (4), preferably five (5) or more, different peer-reviewed articles on your topic from the University of the Cumberlands Library online business database. The article(s) must be relevant and from a peer-reviewed source. While you may use relevant articles from any time frame, current/published within the last five (5) years are preferred. Using literature that is irrelevant or unrelated to the chosen topic will result in a point reduction.
  3. Write a four (4) to five (5) page double spaced paper in APA format discussing the findings on your specific topic in your own words. Note – paper length does not include cover page, abstract, or references page(s).
  4. Structure your paper as follows:
    1. Cover page
    2. Overview describing the importance of the research topic to current business and professional practice in your own words.
    3. Purpose of Research should reflect  the potential benefit of the topic to the current business and professional practice and the larger body of research.
    4. Review of the Literature summarized in your own words. Note that this should not be a “copy and paste” of literature content, nor should this section be substantially filled with direct quotes from the article. A literature review is a summary of the major points and findings of each of the selected articles (with appropriate citations). Direct quotations should be used sparingly. Normally, this will be the largest section of your paper (this is not a requirement; just a general observation).
    5. Practical Application of the literature. Describe how your findings from the relevant research literature can shape, inform, and improve current business and professional practice related to your chosen topic.
    6. Conclusion in your own words
    7. References formatted according to APA style requirements

I have attached documents needed to do this correctly

Purpose: The purpose of this assignment is to revise the introduction and literature review of your academic argumentative research paper, which you created a draft of in Unit IV.

Description: In this assignment, you will revise the introduction and literature review that you wrote for the Unit IV assignment. Revisions must be substantive and should be made in accordance with the professor’s instructions. The following parts of the assignment must be revised:

  • Introduction (9-12 well-developed      sentences/approximately 350 words): For more details about what is      expected for each of the following sentences, please see “Lesson 4:      The Introduction.” You may also want to review the “Example      Introduction and Literature Review (with comments).” The following      components must be included in the introduction (in the following order).
    • Sentence 1: Introduce       the general topic
    • Sentence 2: Pro side       (general)
    • Sentence 3: Con side       (general)
    • Sentence 4: Narrow the       scope (1)
    • Sentence 5: Examples of       the narrowed topic
    • Sentence 6: Narrow the       scope (2)
    • Sentence 7: Specific       controversy
    • Sentence 8: Pro side       (specific)
    • Sentence 9: Con side       (specific)
    • Sentence 10: The thesis
  • Literature Review      (800-900 words): For details about the structure of the literature review,      you will want to review “Lesson 3: The Literature Review: The      Process.” You may also want to review the “Example Introduction      and Literature Review (with comments).” The link is below.
    • Literature review       preface: This paragraph acts as a guide to what the reader can expect in       the literature review.
    • Literature review body:       This section includes three to four body paragraphs that discuss the       history, terminology, and both sides of the controversy (pro and con).
    • Literature review       conclusion: The conclusion signals that the literature review is ending,       but it also acts as a kind of preface for the body of the paper by       restating the thesis statement and establishing your argument once again.
  • Demonstrate the      avoidance of plagiarism through proper use of APA citations and references      for all paraphrased and quoted material.
  • Implement techniques of      editing and revising.

BLACK CULTURAL TRADITION

Instructions:1. Select a tradition from a culture of your choosing.     a) this could be a tradition or practice from your own cultural identity (this is a great chance to tell a part of your own story or to get in touch with it, depending on where you’re at in your cultural journey).    b) this could be a tradition or practice that you’ve always wanted to research and learn some more about. 2. This tradition could be something formalized like aholiday or ceremony (Hanukkah, Chinese New Yearetc.). It could also be something informal like agreeting practice or behavior (touch, use of timeetc.) so there is really a lot of latitude here.3. Analyze the tradition in terms of what it representsabout the culture’s world view. You will want to be able to:a. offer a thorough explanation of how the tradition ispracticed.b. What values does this tradition reinforce aboutthe culture.4. You will want to conduct research for this project ontwo levels:a. Research about the practice and how it is carriedoutb. Research about how the tradition interacts withthe culture.(If you are doing a culture that youare not familiar with, definitely make sure youhave research to help you support yourconclusions about which pieces of world view aresustained in this tradition.  This research might be  first hand experience as well. c. There are resources to get you started in ourweek #2 module. They are:

  •  The Hofstede Center links loaded in the module
  •  World view components notes that help parallel the reading in the book.

d. The key to this project  is to establish a thesis thatconnects the tradition to the material discussed.  Below, is a sample thesis:The rituals associated with the Latino Quinceneara offers insight into the collectivism of Mexican culture. Part II: Designing your presentationI want this project to be meaningful and interesting to you and I want this to be a chance to tell your story, if that’s something you are hungry to do.  To those ends, there are multiple ways you can choose to present this project. Select a way that makes sense to you as a good way to present your tradition.  Gardner’s theory of multiple intelligences suggests, “In order to capture the full range of abilities and talents that people possess, Gardner theorizes that people do not have just an intellectual capacity, but have many kinds of intelligence, including musical, interpersonal, spatial-visual, and linguistic intelligences.” So, tap into your intelligences with this project:

Option #1 Write a research paper about the tradition or practice you chose.

This  is an option that tends to fit well with people who ascribe to a linguistic/verbal intelligence and enjoy reading and writing as a channel for expressing their thoughts and ideas.

1. Write a 5-7 page double spaced typed paper that explores the topic you’ve selected

2.  The paper should use 3 or more sources to support the information and analysis shared.

3. The paper should adhere to the guidelines provided above about the project.

Here’s a sample introduction that shows how that thesis might be incorporated into the introduction of the paper:“Just like a page out of a fairy tale, the storybook tale has finally come true…”(Quinceneara Boutique.com), so opens the invitation to arguably the most significant day in a young Hispanic girl’s life, the day she turns fifteen and becomes a woman in the eyes of her culture. The traditions and practices surrounding a Quinceneara symbolize coming of age in a culture that values collectivism. By looking at three of the rituals contained in the Quinceneara,, one can better understand how this day celebrates the taking of one’s adult place in a collectivist culture. This paper will explore the collectivist values sustained in the rituals of: Selecting the court, changing of the shoes and finally, the last doll. Then go into the body of your paper–your preview statement at the end of the intro has already identified your three main points, so you’re set.  The first main point in the paper will be selecting the court —talk about how the court is selected, the significance and how that ritual represents some aspect of collectivism.  I want this paper to be a meaningful tie in between theory and practice. You should be able to make excellent connections between chapter 2 and 4 and 5  in the text and the practice you choose to explore.  Please let me help you make this project a meaningful one. I am here to offer guidance.Other options here: You can write a poem or compose a story that speaks to and represents the cultural tradition and include analysis, so that you’re walking us through  the connections to the project and the unit material.  You can film yourself telling the story or delivering the poem in a way that is reflective of the  culture.Option #2  Physical PresentationThis option offers the opportunity to explore a cultural tradition or practice through more kinesthetic avenues.  This can be great for kinesthetic topics such as dance or nonverbal communication practices. An example might be: looking at the tradition of flamenco dancing.  If you actually do flamenco dancing, you could have someone film you dancing, and then you could film your discussion and analysis of the dance and what it reveals about the cultural world view it is associated with. This will require you being able to upload the film. Perhaps you’d like to do flamenco dancing but you yourself are not a flamenco dancer, that’s fine. You can share film of someone else–perhaps from an event you’ve attended (with their permission of course) and then you can interview experts on film and film your own responses. Do you have a favorite recipe? Put on your own cooking show and show us how to make your favorite recipe and what it represents about the culture’s world view. So– be creative. There are a lot of ways to do this option!! Unsure if you’re on the right track? Check it out with me. Option #3  Musical IntelligenceUse this option to explore  a cultural tradition through music.  This could be by using music as a channel for exploring the tradition (for example, how does the music associated with Rosh Hashanah reflect the values of Jewish world view and the holiday?) OR  literally looking at the musical traditions of a culture (how do the instruments and songs for instance reflect the world view of the culture).  You can film this or make a film from other resourcesYou can  compose a musical piece that embodies the culture (and analyze it of course). You can perform a musical piece from the culture and talk about it (on film, or through power point slides). Option #4 Naturalistic IntelligenceThis is a chance to express a cultural worldview through nature This could be through a look at traditional foods or cooking methods used in a culture and what that represents about the world view. (make your own cooking show). This could be by constructing a small landscape display or demonstrating a gardening technique (ie bonsai or topiary). These are just some ideas, let your mind brainstorm!!Option #5 Visual Spatial IntelligenceConstruct a drawing or painting  that speaks to  the cultural world view tradition you’ve selected. Be able to analyze and explain the significance of this drawing or painting in terms of what it represents about the world view.  This might be the story told in the painting and/or it might be the methods used in executing the art work (the way it’s painted, or the colors used, or the technique used). Option #6 Interpersonal intelligencePeople are the keepers of cultural history. Take time to film interviews with the people around you– this is great if you’ve selected to look at your own world view.  Interview grandparents, relatives, community leaders about the components of world view, listen and share their stories. ONCE YOU HAVE SELECTED AN OPTION,  I WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU SO THAT WE CAN CLARIFY YOUR PROJECT AND THE GRADING RUBRIC FOR IT SINCE EACH OF THE 6 OPTIONS WILL HAVE ITS OWN RUBRIC.   PreviousNext

Unit III Essay

Instructions

Internal MigrationWe discussed in the unit lesson that most migration is internal, and there are three main reasons why people move internally in their country: age, employment, and a location’s physical environment. Write a two-page essay about the impact of internal migration on your state or a state where you previously resided.

  • How has the population changed in your state over the past 5 years?
  • Is your state gaining or losing residents?
  • Where are the residents mainly coming from or going to?
  • What are the push-pull factors accounting for the population changes?
  • What economic and environmental impacts are the population changes having in your state?
  • Conclude the essay with a section discussing your own internal migration story. Have you moved within or between states? What were the push and pull factors relating to your move or moves? If you have not moved, please list some of the factors that have kept you from moving.

Note: If you reside outside the United States, you can either discuss any U.S. state where you previously lived or discuss your current location. You must use at least one outside source from the CSU Online Library. All sources used, including the textbook, must be referenced; paraphrased and quoted material must have accompanying APA citations.Click here for a tutorial for from the Success Center that covers the basics of essay writing.

PEERS RESPONSE:

My name is Attallah Williams and I am excited to begin the course, this is one of the fist ever classes I have taken in college in regard to art. I live in Denver, Colorado with my fiancé and our 7 children, and our little Chihuahua named Mahogany. I currently work two full time jobs from home and I am also making my way slowly but surely through school, In my free time I enjoy making music or writing poetry as well as I also enjoy spending quality time with my family. The pandemic has tremendously changed what daily life entails for me and my family for sure but we have found so many ways to make the best of it. We are all looking forward to being able to explore and enjoy the out doors once again.

I personally do not have much experience with art outside of music and dance to be totally honest this is all new for me and I look forward to taking the class because I will get to learn more about art and the different My initial reaction to the Bruegel’s The Fall of the Rebel Angels was that it was quite busy and all over the place., it was very complex for me to understand since I am not very familiar with art.

Assignment: Implementing and Analyzing a Threaded Sort Algorithm

Once a software application has been implemented and released, that is by no means the end of development. There are all kinds of causes requiring software to be changed, from users reporting bugs, through changes in third-party software, to updates for improved performance. A critical skill of software developers is the ability to understand and update a program’s algorithm.

For this Assignment, you will update an existing Java program using the NetBeans IDE. You will use the NetBeans Integrated Development Environment to make changes to an existing NetBeans Java Project. This existing program correctly sorts the data without using threads and contains a method (threadedSort) that you will update to sort the data using threads.

The Java Project contains three class files: MergeSort.java, Sort.java, and SortTest.java.Double-click each file in the Project section (at the left of the NetBeans IDE window) to display the file’s contents. Each of the Java class files contains comments explaining the purpose of the class and the purpose of the class’ methods.

Modify the Java program by adding threads, and analyze the performance of both the threaded and non-threaded versions.

  • Modify the Program:

Improve the performance of the Java program by adding threads to the Sort.java file. Implement the threadedSort() method within the Sort class. Reuse any of the existing methods by calling them as necessary from your threadedSort method. You may add additional methods to the Sort class, if necessary.

  • Analyze the Program:

When running the provided SortTest program, the output presents data to support analyzing the performance of the threaded and non-threaded sort methods. Analyze your threaded implementation by comparing its performance to the original non-threaded implementation and explain the measured behavior. Document your analysis as a short paper (1–3 pages), using APA format. Be sure to discuss the relative performance improvement you expect for your threaded implementation and how the expected performance compares to the measured performance.

This assignment requires the threaded java scripts along with the 1-3 page paper.

topic on solar system astronomy

Write a short essay (1000-1500 words) on a topic in solar system astronomy. There are a wide variety of topics you can choose for your project. Some example topics include: – a moon, asteroid or other body in the solar system which does not receive much press – the ring system of one of the gas giants – a famous observatory – a surface feature on the Moon – one of the many exploratory missions launched into the solar system – upcoming missions or planned observatories – recent discoveries about a body in the solar system You may choose one of these or any other topic as long as it relates to the study of the solar system. The internet is also an excellent place to search for information; there are many high quality astronomy-related websites. This is to be written by you – absolutely no copying of another person’s work. Any submissions with plagiarized material will receive a grade of zero with further academic penalty as a possibility. The report should consist of a title page, your written essay, diagrams or pictures (if pertinent) and a list of sources. The report will be marked on clarity, readability and depth. There is no defined format for your paper as long as it contains the above criteria

2 original poems

For this assignment, you will develop 2 original poems––a free-verse poem and a closed-form poem––that employ the elements of poetry described in Chapter 1 of the Starkey text and Chapter 10 of the Sellers text. Both poems are to be full-length lyrical works and there is no established minimum word count; however, this course does not focus on haikus. Submit your 2 poems in 1 MS Word document file.

Poetry consists of a number of elements, which we discuss more fully later in the chapter: Lines and Stanzas When we write prose, the sentence is our basic unit of composition. In a poem, however, we think in terms of lines — those entities that begin on the left side of the page and end somewhere on the right. Like a line of computer code, a line of poetry contains one or more usually implicit commands on how it is to be read. (An exception to this rule — the prose poem — is covered in the “Poetic Forms” section.) Stanzas are made by grouping lines together. line A unit of poetry consisting of a word or words, usually beginning on the left side of the page and ending where the poet decides to “break” or wrap the unit, usually before the right-hand margin. stanza A grouping of poetic lines. Meter and Rhythm Meter is a regular pattern of accented and unaccented syllables. rhyme is a variable but nevertheless recognizable pattern of strong and weak elements in a poem. Because the term “rhythm” is more flexible than “meter,” we often use it when referring to free verse or experimental poetry. Even if a poem is not strictly metered, it will still have a rhythm. rhyme scheme A purposeful arrangement of rhyming words at the end of each line. meter The arrangement of words in a poem based on the relative stress of their syllables. rhyme A correspondence of sound in two or more words. The Music of Poetry Readers and listeners often comment on the “music” of a poem: the sounds that words make when coming together. The section on the music of poetry focuses on rhyme and alliteration as devices for creating musical effects in poetry. Images, Symbols, and Figurative Language Using concrete images, as opposed to abstractions, is a cornerstone of most contemporary poetry. Poetry also relies on symbols — acts, sounds, or objects that signify something other than themselves. Much of the strangeness of poetry, as opposed to everyday conversation and writing, results from the dense use of figures of speech such as metaphor, simile, metonymy, synecdoche, personification, puns, and irony. peech such as metaphor, simile, metonymy, synecdoche, personification, puns, and irony. symbol Something concrete and specific that stands for something general and abstract. Diction, Syntax, and the Language of Poetry Diction refers to the choice of the words themselves, while syntax refers to the way that words are put together to form phrases in a sentence. Together, these two elements ultimately result in the creation of each individual poet’s “language of poetry.” syntax The arrangement of words to form phrases in a sentence. Poetic Forms One of the pleasures of writing poetry is working in the forms handed down to us from previous generations of poets. Many of these structures have strict rules that must be followed, although we will embrace a certain amount of play and experimentation in the forms we work with. In addition to the sonnet, we will look at the villanelle, the rondeau, the sestina, the cinquain, the pantoum, and the ghazal.

Preparing Marketing Strategy

You and a business partner are in the process of starting your own business.  A group of potential investors have been identified and are scheduled to receive a formal presentation on your developed marketing strategy.  Choose one of the business ideas listed below, and develop a marketing strategy for the business. Include the type of market research you will perform and how you will define your target market. (Information, Systems)

  • Crafts store to capitalize on the renewed interest in knitting and other crafts
  • Online corporate-training company
  • Ethnic restaurant near your campus
  • Another business opportunity that interests you

Because of your expert presentation skill, your partner has asked you to present the brief to the perspective investors who represent senior executive level management. Create a PowerPoint presentation on your developed marketing strategy.

(Hint: Senior executives should be presented with a general overview checklist with limited details. In an actual presentation, you as the presenter, can verbalize details if asked questions).

Communicating Solutions With Digital Media CM220M5-05

CM220M5-1: Develop strategies for effective problem solving using digital media.Assessment objective: Think of the power of some commercials to get us to think about buying a new product, voting for a particular candidate, or contributing to a cause. Many of these commercials combine words, images, and sound in ways that appeal to our senses and emotions in a way that words alone may not be able to do. For this competency assessment, you will use technology, writing, and research skills to create a digital media presentation that combines text and images, and perhaps sound, to make an argument for change that can appeal to an audience, much like a powerful advertisement or public service announcement. Identify a problem you want to solve in your community or workplace that would be researchable. You may want to propose that your workplace choose a new health care plan, advocate the need to put speed bumps in your neighborhood or argue for a ban on plastic shopping bags in your city.

IT IS RECOMMENDED THAT YOU USE THE SAME TOPIC YOU USED IN THE EARLIER MODULE SINCE YOU HAVE CREATED A THESIS AND FOUND SOURCES TO SUPPORT YOUR CLAIM.

Your digital media presentation should use the design suggestions provided in the Writing resource Creating Effective PowerPoint Presentations. More importantly, you are practicing your composition skills by combining text and images to compel your audience to recognize the importance of your argument.
Minimum Submission RequirementsThe digital media presentation should have the following characteristics:

  • Slide presentation format (PowerPoint, Google Slides, etc.)
  • Title page/slide with the presentation title, your name, and course information
  • Contains at least 8–10 slides, not counting the title and references slides
  • Uses research from at least four sources, which should include at least 2 graphics with information
  • Minimally, four visuals (e.g., photo, table, diagram, chart, infographic, etc.)
  • Research and visuals are cited in APA citation format, both in text and on a references slide or separate Word document. You need to quote material taken directly from a source. The same standards apply to a presentation that apply to an essay.
  • A clear message related to an argument for change in your community or workplace
  • Follows the criteria covered in “Designing an Effective Presentation” section of Creating Effective PowerPoint Presentations
