Comprehensive IT PROJECT week 3

Assignment Details

Scenario

You have been asked to be the project manager for the development of an information technology (IT) project. The system to be developed will allow a large company to coordinate and maintain records of the professional development of its employees. The company has over 30,000 employees who are located in four sites: Atlanta, GA; Houston, TX; Chandler, AZ; and Schaumburg, IL. The system needs to allow employees to locate and schedule professional development activities that are relevant to their positions. Sophisticated search capabilities are required, and the ability to add scheduled events to the employees’ calendars is desired. The system needs to support social networking to allow employees to determine who is attending conferences and events. This will promote fostering relationships and ensure coverage of conferences that are considered of high importance.

Once an activity has been completed, employees will use the system to submit the documentation. The system should support notifications to management personnel whenever their direct reports have submitted documentation. The system should also notify employees if their deadline to complete professional-development requirements is approaching and is not yet satisfied.

For Section 4 of your project, include two architectural views illustrating your solution. The 2 views should be from the 4+1 Architectural View Model (Logical View, Development, Process, or Physical). The view can be a Use Case, Sequence, Activity, Deployment, Communication, or State Chart. You can use the free Diagrams.net site, or other software, to create your diagrams.

Note: There must be enough detail for the design to be handed off to an implementation team.

Please submit your assignment.

DNA Analysis in Forensic Biology

As you study DNA, you find that every person’s DNA is different from another’s. Identical twins are the only people whose DNA is the same. Consider your parents and your siblings. Even though your brother and your sister have the same parents, it is unlikely that you look exactly like them unless you are identical twins. You may have common features, and you will all share common DNA among yourselves, but only identical twins will have the exact same DNA. DNA testing is used for many reasons, such as the following:

  • Identify potential suspects whose DNA may match evidence left at crime scenes
  • Exonerate persons wrongly accused
  • Match organ donors

Assignment Guidelines

  • Address the following in 4–5 pages:
    • In your first case, you have been asked to list and explain the steps that you would use to identify and analyze DNA from a person who has been in prison for 10 years. The results of your test may exonerate the person.
      • Once the physical evidence has been delivered to the forensics lab, what is the process of identifying DNA? Be specific, and explain in detail.
        • Consider that the evidence is over 10 years old.
      • Once the DNA evidence has been identified, what is the process of analyzing the DNA? Be specific, and explain in detail.
        • What challenges exist that can make your analysis inadmissible in court? Explain.
    • How are tissue matches made? Explain.
    • Why is it important to utilize different DNA testing methods? Explain.
      • Why is it that some methods may be preferred over others? Explain.
    • Other than forensic uses, DNA testing is essential in paternity testing.
      • What are the steps used to carry out a paternity test? Explain in detail.
      • Why might the results of a paternity test be significant in a court case? Explain.

PLAW 1100 MOD 1 paper

Assignment #1

Write an approximately 2 page essay (800 words) using at least 2 outside resources on the court/legal process in the United States. This assignment is to show your critical thinking skills. Some information you might want to include to earn points:• Is the legal system we have in the United States fair for both parties? Consider both the civil and criminal system.•Could you design a better system?•Give one example of a case in which you think the verdict was not representative of the facts presented? Why do you think that happened? Do you agree that it “should” happen in a working legal system? This should not be based on emotion. It should be based on process. You may not use a case older than 25 years, The OJ Simpson or Casey Anthony case. •Ensure you use terms of things that occur in the court process. For example “I think the legal system is inherently unfair because it requires parties to write extensive pleadings thus necessitating the need for attorneys. This effectively bars access to the courts for many indigent Plaintiffs. This is not what the Founders had in mind . . . “•Do not write a paper merely quoting a source’s opinion. You will be graded on content, support, organization, grammar, and cohesiveness. You must use APA formatting and citation.

No abstract is necessary.  Include a clear and concise introductory and concluding paragraph.

Research: Additionally, using the APUS Online Library, conduct research and incorporate at least two (2) additional sources other than your textbook and course articles to support your essay. Use the APA Style to cite your “in-text” references and to list your references on a reference page.

Your essay will address these questions:

A. What leadership model, style, or theory best describes you as a leader?  Why?   Give examples using the terms and concepts in your textbook.

Annotated Bibliography need completed and 3 hours max

Assignment 1: The Annotated Bibliography

Objective:  Assess sources for your research for your final presentation (for credibility, reliability, and relevance) and list references in proper APA format

Assignment Instructions:  The Course Project for this class is divided into three major Assignments, 1) Annotated Bibliography, 2) Outline and 3) Final Presentation. The first part is the Annotated Bibliography. An annotation is a summary and evaluation, and your annotated bibliography will include a summary and evaluation of some of the sources (or references) you will use for your presentation.

To prepare for this assignment, I recommend that you do the following:

  • Read these directions carefully.
  • Review the sample annotated bibliography provided to you below.
  • Read the grading criteria below.  The grading criteria is a detailed evaluation that I will use to assess your performance.  It also will help you understand what is expected of you as you prepare your assignments.
  • Message me with any questions!

The reason the annotated bibliography is included as part of the research project is that writing an annotated bibliography is important in that it provides excellent preparation for the final presentation. One of the issues regarding any type of research, especially in the biosciences, medical, health/nutrition and exercise/fitness fields, is the credibility of the sources used, particularly those obtained from various websites. By forcing you to evaluate each of your potential sources carefully, the annotated bibliography helps you determine if in fact the source you chose is credible and helps you determine how relevant it is to your topic and understand the topic better which will help you develop your presentation.

For this project, you will assess three sources to include:

1) a complete citation for each source,

2) a summary of each source, and

3) an evaluation of each source.

Three sources are required for this assignment (i.e., you are to write an annotation for each source).  However, you must use five or more sources in your final presentation.

Use this TEMPLATE to summarize and evaluate each of your three sources.

  1. Citation:

Written in APA reference list format. For more help with formatting, see APA handout.

  1. Summary:

What is the purpose of the source, review article, original research? What topics are covered? This section is generally 4-6 sentences that summarize the author’s main point. For more help, see this link on paraphrasing sources.

  1. Evaluation:

After summarizing the article (or research paper or book), it is necessary to evaluate it and state where you found it – its source (e.g., journal, website, etc.).  Briefly answer the following questions in 4-6 sentences:

What is the format or type of source (e.g., peer-reviewed journal paper, website, book)? How reliable is the information in the article, and how credible is the source (e.g., website’s sponsoring organization, journal or book publisher) and the author(s)?

For more help, see this handout on evaluating resources.
