Anticrime Prevention part 2

Anticrime/Prevention
Program: Part 2 – Evaluation Strategy & Logic
Model Assignment Instructions

Overview

This assignment requires you to develop an evaluation
strategy for a police or crime problem chosen using Vito & Higgins planning
evaluation strategy in Chapter 2. Using the evaluation strategy in Vito &
Higgins to frame the paper, you will establish goals, objectives, and
performance indicators using a theory that provides the basis for your
specified program. Citations must be used for the underlying theories. For
example, you choose violent crime as the problem you are going to address, then
you will examine the theories surrounding violent crime reduction. Using one of
these theories, such as focused deterrence, you will model a program after a
Ceasefire or Pulling Levers example. You will use the theory to inform program
operations to drive the selection of treatments, clarify the services provided,
and determine the variables to be measured.

You will also include a Logic Model for the chosen
problem following the Vito & Higgins model in Chapter 2. The Logic Model
should be in the form of a chart (an excel spreadsheet will be fine). The Logic
Model will cover inputs, activities, outputs, short-term outcomes, long-term
outcomes, and external factors.

Key Historical Events

Key Historical Events

In the United States, special education is guided by four federal statutes, the Individuals With Disabilities Education Act of 2004  (IDEA), Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1975 (Section 504), the Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA), and the No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB).

Public Law 94-142, Education of All Handicapped Children Act (EHA), passed in 1975, was a foundational congressional act, which required all schools that receive federal funding to provide a free appropriate public education for all students with disabilities. For the first time, this law guaranteed and enforced the rights of children with disabilities to receive unique educational opportunities delivered in the “least restrictive environment.” Prior to this legislation, more than half of all students with disabilities were turned away from schools or were provided a substandard education (U.S. Department of Education, 2015). The law, through multiple reauthorizations, is now known as the IDEA.

Since this landmark legislation was passed, key events have continued to impact the development of the field of special education. For example, in 1990, PL-94-142 was amended with a name change and updated requirements to meet the changing needs of students with disabilities and public education. This bill was amended again in 1997, and a final time in 2004 (ProjectIDEAL, 2013).

The legislative cornerstone of the IDEA set the foundation to “(a) improve how children with disabilities were identified and educated, (b) evaluate the success of these efforts, and (c) provide due process protections for children and families.” (U.S. Department of Education, 2015, Public Law 94-142, para. 2). Current and future special educators have an ethical responsibility to uphold these guiding principles as advocates for children with disabilities.

Please be sure to take about an hour to review this week’s Instructor Guidance; there you will find a wealth of useful information that will guide you as you progress through the week’s discussions and assignments and that can also be used as a scholarly reference in this week’s assignments. In addition, be sure to review the grading rubric as support for performance.

Initial Post: In three paragraphs, summarize how the amendments of IDEA addressed the progressive improvements of special education in meeting the needs of children with disabilities. Then, explain how special education law provides for an appropriate and equal public education as intended by the original iteration of the IDEA, Public Law 94-142, as well as the current governing law. Complete your initial post by reflecting on the impact that the development of these laws have had in protecting the rights of children with disabilities.

Instructions

You have recently been promoted to Health Services Manager at Three Mountains Regional Hospital, a small hospital located in a mid-size city in the Mid-West. Three Mountains is a general medical and surgical facility with 400 beds. Last year there were approximately 62,000 emergency visits and 15,000 admissions. More than 6,000 outpatient and 10,000 inpatient surgeries were performed.

As a means to build trust between the organization and the patients, you have been tasked with the drafting of a memorandum (memo) to all employees that perform patient intake functions. The focus of this Memo is to highlight the necessary forms that need to be completed during the intake/admissions process and an explanation as to why they are necessary. Often patients are handed a form to fill out, but do not receive a proper explanation as to why it is necessary for them to provide the required information. Without the proper information, patients, more now than ever, are hesitant to provide all of the necessary information. You will need to address the following components in your memo:

  1. Introduction: Explain why you are sending this memo. Provide an overview of the patient trust issues and why it is important for the employees to be able to discuss each of the forms with the patients during the intake process.
  2. List of the Required Forms: List and describe each of the required forms at admission.
  3. Importance of each form to the organization: For each form you list, you will need to add why that form is important to the organization and necessary for the patient to complete.
  4. Conclusion: In this part, you will wrap up the memo and provide additional resources available to the employees if they have further questions.
  5. Proper Memo Formatting: Â This a professional document and needs to be structured as a memo and not as an essay. You will still need to supply both in text and full citations for the sources of your information. If you need further assistance with how to structure a memo, click on this link.

SQL

The purpose of this assignment is to update a previous query and present it in an easily readable format.

For this assignment, continue to assume the role of data analyst at Adventure Works Cycles company.

Please note that when SQL queries are run, results are generated in the form of data. This data should be exported and saved to Excel for a visual check of accuracy.

Create a Microsoft Word document that includes the SQL query code used to explore the database tables and answer the following questions.

Part 1:

  1. Using what you have learned, replicate the data found in #MySalesOrderDetailbyDate and #MyProductPriceHistory using a single SELECT statement for each query. Refer to the Topic 5 assignment, “Creating an Entity Relationship Diagram (ERD)” for this information.
  2. Modify the <MyProductPriceHistory and #MySalesOrderDetailbyDate> queries completed in the Topic 6 assignment and present it in an easy-to-read format. To do this, write the query in a single SELECT statement without temporary tables, using abbreviations and line spacing.

Part 2:

Karen Berge, a document control assistant at the company, comes to you with a request. Karen wants the titles and file names of all of the documents she has produced and has asked you to generate this information for her. Using what you have learned, produce a query in one statement to give her the information she needs. Note that constructing the query will require some thinking outside the box since the relationships are not well-documented.

Please note that when SQL queries are run, results are generated in the form of data. This data should be exported and saved to Excel for a visual check of accuracy. This Excel file should include the names of all documents Karen has produced.

Add to the Word document you created in Part 1 and include the SQL query code associated with the query you wrote to locate Karen’s documents.

Compile the Excel data file and Word document containing the SQL queries and answers to the questions into a .zip file and submit to your instructor.

Part 1 and 2

Part 1

Understanding Needed Organizational Change

Your Mastering the Challenges of Leading Change text suggests three simple questions can help leaders understand the needed change in organizations. Those are:

  1. What are the top three things we do well?
  2. What are the top three things we do badly?
  3. What are the top three things we need to do to fix them?

For this discussion, use your own organization or one with which you are familiar to answer these three questions. Also pose the same questions to three other people within the organization to elicit their thoughts. Using your answers and the responses you collect, respond to the following:

  • Explain the current state of the organization using one of the five models (Congruence, Dynamics, Competing Values, Organizational Growth, and Complexity) as described in Chapter 3 of your text. For example, you might use Quinn’s Competing Values Model to explain that the organization is too focused on external adaptation. Select one of the models to make sense of the organizational status quo.
  • Identify at least three priorities for change based on your analysis.

Part 2

Failure as Organizational Learning

Using the Obeng video found in Chapter 3 and as part of Toolkit Exercise 3.1 in your Organizational Change: An Action-Oriented Toolkit text, respond to the following:

  • How can you and your organization begin to view failure as learning more often? Include points of view from other authors as well as from your own experiences.

Creating a Use Case

  1. In the textbook, Systems Analysis and Design in a Changing World, refer to the RMO CSMS marketing subsystem Figure 3-10d on page 83.
Write a paper in which you research use case diagrams:

    1.  Create a diagram using Visio, Word, or your choice of program that can create a use case graphic rendering.
      • Use Figure 3-12 on page 84 and Figure 3-14 on page 86 as examples of what the use case diagram should look like on the marketing subsystem chart supplied in figure 3-10d on page 83. .
      • Remember to paste a copy of the diagram in the paper.
      • You need to create the diagram, not take one from the Internet.
    2.      2.  Write an analysis of the use case drawing that you created. Analyze the actors and how they relate to the use cases in the diagram. Your answer should show the purpose and importance of use case diagrams.
           3.  Use at least two quality resources. Note: Wikipedia and similar websites do not qualify as quality resources.
The specific course learning outcome associated with this assignment is:
    • Create a use case diagram with supporting documentation that describes the use case and actors in detail.
  2. By submitting this paper, you agree: (1) that you are submitting your paper to be used and stored as part of the SafeAssign™ services in accordance with the Blackboard Privacy Policy; (2) that your institution may use your paper in accordance with your institution’s policies; and (3) that your use of SafeAssign will be without recourse against Blackboard Inc. and its affiliates.
