Scope and Work Breakdown Structure

Overview

Project Scope

A project scope document defines and controls what is and is not included in a project. Scope definition involves dividing major deliverables into smaller, more manageable components. Remember, your scope statement forms the basis for agreement between the project and the project stakeholders by identifying both the project objectives and deliverables. This information can also be used to create a work breakdown structure and project schedule for the project.

Your scope definition should:

· Improve accuracy of cost, duration, and resource estimates.

· Define a baseline for performance measurement and control.

· Facilitate clear assignment of responsibilities.

Work Breakdown Structure (WBS)

A work breakdown structure, or WBS, is used to define and integrate all the activities included in the project scope. Remember that there is a one-to-one relationship between the project scope and WBS. All the work included in the scope document should be included in your WBS.

Directions

Create the following two course project planning items. Plan to submit separate documents for each.

· Scope Document: Use the Scope Statement Template found in the Resources to create the scope for your project. Make modifications and add information as needed to the template to ensure the scope statement is exactly as you want it.

· Work Breakdown Structure: Prepare a WBS for your course project. Remember, you must first break down your project into major work elements, noting who is responsible for each. You must also consider if the work element is concurrently done with another work element, or if it is it in a series and cannot start until the previous element is completed. This activity will start to define your timeline and critical path.

Submission Instructions

Submit the scope and WBS in separate documents. Be sure to attach BOTH of the documents with your assessment submission. This is important to avoid unnecessary use of one of your re-submission attempts to submit a missing part of your assessment.

Additional Requirements

· Formatting and Font: 12 point Times New Roman font.

· References: Use proper current APA style and formatting when citing and referencing your sources.

Movie: Seventy-two Tenants (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=elWEFDqTf7s)

After watching the movie, you should write two arguments, and the reading and the movie should use quote

Requirement:

1. Purpose: to cultivate the habits of critical reading by making arguments and providing evidence

2. Content: identify an argument (not merely a topic) from a required reading (with direct quotations and page numbers) and discuss it in relation to the designated film of the day

3. Focus: your ability to articulate someone else’ argument and state your interpretation of a film in relation to that argument; mere factual information or plot summary won’t count as argument

4. Length: 1 double-space page or 350 words for each short paper; the portion in excess of the limit will not be graded for credit

5. Grading: out of 10 points for each commentary, 3 for identification of an argument and logical transition, 3 points for film discussion focused on details, and 4 for writing (grammar, expression, coherence, style)

6. Make sure you have a clear argument or statement: find a focus to organize your writing

7. A general plot or characterization summary earns little credit

8. Analyze film in detail (e.g., mise-en-scene, smiles or other facial expressions, camera angles)

9. Rephrase key words for better connection between the reading and your film analysis (e.g., metaphor, allegory, realism)

10. Always use the readings assigned in the same week as primary films; the same formula for commentaries 2-3

11. You only need to quote from 1 reading in the week, NOT 1 from each reading in the week

12. Your quote must be relevant to the rest of your discussion

13. Avoid a long quote or 2 or more quotes in a commentary

14. Similarly, avoid discussing 2 or more ideas because there is no space to do that adequately

15. Proofread your paper or grade yourself to improve before submitting

16. No need for a separate Works Cited page, but use in-text reference (e.g., Teo, page #)

Yes, I believe that deception or lying is a valid and justifiable interrogation technique. “Because most deception is employed only after the suspect executes a valid waiver of Miranda rights” (Magid, 2001). “Miranda offers suspects little protection from deceptive interrogation techniques” (Magid, 2001). Additionally, I feel it is justifiable because a person who has been arrested for a crime may not be willing to admit guilt. An individual who has been arrested by police authorities, in most cases, was arrested because there was probable cause to effect the arrest. Probable Cause by definition, is the standard when there is reason to believe, based on the facts and circumstances surrounding an incident, that crime has been, is being or will be committed. if this is the case and an individual has been arrested based on the probable cause, the individual may not be forthcoming so it may take a trained interviewer and/ or interrogator to creatively extract a confession from the individual without violating the law and the individuals constitutionally protected rights. The job of any interrogation first and foremost is the find the truth, not to just “get a confession”. There are evidentiary and/ or ethical ramifications by using this technique. The evidentiary ramifications have to do with the obtaining a confession and how it was obtained. The confession must be obtained within the parameter of the law in order to admitted into evidence. If the confession is obtained in violation of the law then it can be suppressed or thrown out as evidence. The ethnical aspect deals with the way the jury may view the deceptive techniques to obtain a confession. Just because it may be obtained within the parameters of the law does not make it ethical if there is the appearance of deception by the interrogation. The jury’s perception is the jury’s reality. For example, it would be unethical for the interrogator to promise the suspect freedom and no jail time in exchange for his/her signed confession of a crime because this is unethical and not lawful. Deception lawful and legal during interrogation as long as it done appropriately. ” Police in the United States are often trained on Reid’s nine-step interrogation process”(Stinson, 2018). “Reid’s nine-step process of interrogation methods has been revised and expanded in various texts since first introduced in the 1940s and has adopted more manipulative and deceptive practices of interrogation methods over the past thirty years designed to gain psychological advantage over a suspect being interrogated”(Stinson,2018).

The purpose of this assignment is to create an educational program that supports the implementation of risk management strategies in a health care organization.

In this assignment, you will develop an outline for an “in‐service”‐style educational risk management program for employees of a particular health care organization that will then form the basis for a PowerPoint presentation in Topic 5. Select your topic for this educational session from one of the proposed recommendations or changes you suggested in the Risk Management Program Analysis – Part One assignment to enhance, improve, or secure compliance standards in your chosen risk management plan example.

Create a 500‐750-word comprehensive outline that communicates the following about your chosen topic:

  1. Introduction: Identify the risk management topic you have chosen to address and why it is important within your health care sector.
  2. Rationale: Illustrate how this risk management strategy is lacking within your selected organization’s current risk management plan and explain how its implementation will better meet local, state, and federal compliance standards.
  3. Support: Provide data that indicate the need for this proposed risk management initiative and demonstrate how it falls under the organization’s legal responsibility to provide a safe health care facility and work environment.
  4. Implementation: Describe the steps to implement the proposed strategy in your selected health care organization.
  5. Challenges: Predict obstacles the health care organization may face in executing this risk management strategy and propose solutions to navigate or preempt these potentially difficult outcomes.
  6. Evaluation: Outline your plan to evaluate the success of the proposed risk management program and how well it meets the organization’s short-term, long-term, and end goals.
  7. Opportunities: Recommend additional risk management improvements in adjacent areas of influence that the organization could or should address moving forward.

Family Medicine 32: 33-year-old with painful cycles

During the interview and health history taking for dysmenorrhea, it is important to inquisitive about the presenting symptoms. This would include the relationship of symptoms to the start and ending of menstrual cycle, characteristics of the pain and relieving factors (if there are any), amount of bleeding that is experienced, report of fevers accompanying the symptoms, STI and sexual history, pain with intercourse, chronic diseases and medications the patient is taking, including over the counter medications (Hawkins, Roberto-Nicholas & Stanley-Haney, 2020).

Patients with dysmenorrhea can have a multitude of symptoms that may be present. Throbbing, aching, persistent pain in the lower abdomen that can radiate to the back are the most common symptom presentation. Patients’ pain usually begins 1-3 days before menses and peaks around 24 hours after the onset. Pain can continue up to 3 days after the beginning of menses (Hawkins, Roberto-Nicholas & Stanley-Haney, 2020).

Diagnostic tests that can be conducted include chlamydia, gonorrhea and/or wet mount screening if appropriate.

The primary diagnosis would be primary dysmenorrhea with differential diagnosis including: endometriosis, ovarian cysts and intrauterine polyps.

The first line treatment for dysmenorrhea would be an NSAID. NSAIDs should be started at the start of menses and can continue taking them up to two days into the menstrual cycle. Cyclic combined hormonal contraceptives can also be used as second line treatment. Heat application and education on premenstrual guidelines for diet and other recommendations can also be used. The patient should have yearly physicals conducted and pap smears per established guidelines (Hawkins, Roberto-Nicholas & Stanley-Haney, 2020).

YOS

American Health Care Act (AHCA) presented by Trump’s administration and Obama’s Affordable Care Act (ACA) demonstrate different visions of the parties on the role of government, rights, and responsibilities of citizens in the sphere of health care. Whereas ACA is set to achieve a nearly universal access to health care, AHCA strives to limit federal spendings and optimize the resource usage. The failure of the first version of AHCA was attributed to the alleged jeopardy, in which it would have put the insurance system in the U.S. One of the main reasons was substantial limitations proposed for ACA including less federal financing and extended privileges of states for discontinuation of service for those having ACA insurance (Hirsch et al., 2017). In addition, it did not address the major problem concerning all the U.S. states such as the increase in health care costs.

Presently, under ACA the state provides subsidized health insurance for the family of four if its annual income is below 97,000 dollars. Under AHCA that limit was raised to 150,000 (Hirsch et al., 2017).  Another difference is that individual insurance that was eventually introduced to ACA was absent in AHCA. In addition to that, ACA ranged subsidies by income level, whereas AHCA initially proposed to substitute them for the age-based system, where the amount of benefit increased with age. The reform proposed by Trump’s administration was set to allocate the 15 billion from the Patient and State Stability Fund to address multiple issues including provision of assistance to high-risk patients, widening access to prevention services, increasing insurance coverage, and so forth (Hirsch et al., 2017).

Mapping the Product Life Cycle (PLC) Presentation

Mapping the Product Life Cycle (PLC) Presentation

Purpose of the Assignment

The Product Life Cycle (PLC) is a vital component of the marketing plan. Monitoring products and services as they flow through this process helps marketing managers adjust their marketing strategies to keep products and services thriving for as long as possible. Monitoring this cycle helps companies and organizations continue to maximize the value of their products and services with their target over time. The purpose of this assignment is to give students the opportunity to understand how each stage in the PLC creates a need for adjustment to marketing strategies and allows students to assess what action(s) need to be taken.

Scenario: You currently work as the marketing manager of your favorite company/organization and manage the success of one of its products or services. Your responsibility is to monitor the stages of the Product Life Cycle (PLC) and adjust the marketing strategies as needed for your product to thrive for as long as possible. At each stage, you assess changes you need to make to the product, price strategy, as well as competition and profit.

Create a 10- to 20-slide (not counting cover slide or reference slide) Microsoft® PowerPoint® presentation with speaker’s notes covering the following criteria:

– Develop a slide setting the theme and goals of the presentation.

– Define and discuss the PLC concept and its importance to marketing managers.

– Define and discuss what role pricing strategy has in marketing and how marketing mangers decide what strategy to use.

– Describe what company/organization and product/service you are using.

– Create one slide for each of the four stages of the PLC describing the stage and analyzes the implications each stage may have on price strategy, product, competition, and profit for your selected product/service. Use the product/service you selected to illustrate each stage as it is discussed with original examples.

– Discuss the reasoning behind why the PLC is important to marketing managers and share examples of possible implications if it is not monitored.

Cite a minimum of two peer-reviewed sources with one coming from the textbook or the University Library. Use in-text citations in the presentation slides and speaker’s notes to demonstrate your research.

Format your presentation consistent with APA guidelines.
