PRU

Picnics R Us (PRU) is a small catering firm with five employees. During a typical summer weekend, PRU caters fifteen picnics with twenty to fifty people each. The business has grown rapidly over the past year, and the owner wants to install a new computer system for managing the ordering and buying process. PRU has a set of ten standard menus. When potential customers call, the receptionist describes the menus to them. If the customer decides to book a picnic, the receptionist records the customer information (e.g., name, address, phone number) and the information about the picnic (e.g., place, date, time, which one of the standard menus, total price) on a contract. The customer is then faxed a copy of the contract and must sign and return it along with a deposit (often a credit card or by debit card) before the picnic is officially booked. The remaining money is collected when the picnic is delivered. Sometimes, the customer wants something special (e.g., birthday cake). In this case, the receptionist takes the information and gives it to the owner, who determines the cost; the receptionist then calls the customer back with the price information. Sometimes the customer accepts the price; other times, the customer requests some changes that have to go back to the owner for a new cost estimate. Each week, the owner looks through the picnics scheduled for that weekend and orders the supplies (e.g., plates) and food (e.g., bread, chicken) needed to make them. Th e owner would like to use the system for marketing as well. It should be able to track how customers learned about PRU and identify repeat customers, so that PRU can mail special offers to them. The owner also wants to track the picnics for which PRU sent a contract, but the customer never signed the contract and actually booked a picnic.

Typically, the current system is analyzed, and then requirements set for the new system based on that.

Do a first-pass analysis of this system

Effective Speaking Discussion 8

Imagine that, over the weekend, you attended a coworker’s birthday party. During the birthday celebration, your coworker delivered speech. Which one of the aspects of the speech most appealed to you?

  • Introduction and conclusion.
  • Use of direct quotes.

Provide a thorough explanation for your choice. The following is your coworker’s speech.

“I would like to first start by thanking my family, friends, and colleagues who have honored me with their presence today. Over the years, I have learned that there is no specific formula for a long and prosperous life. However, I will share a few of the principles I live by and have found valuable.

  • “Success is not final; failure is not fatal: It is the courage to continue that counts.” —Winston S. Churchill (1)
  • “To be gritty is to keep putting one foot in front of the other. To be gritty is to hold fast to an interesting and purposeful goal. To be gritty is to invest, day after week after year, in challenging practice. To be gritty is to fall down seven times, and rise eight.” —Angela Lee Duckworth (2)
  • “Always be nice to the people you meet on your way up in life as you may meet them again on the way down.” —Jimmy Durante (3)
  • “When you come to a fork in the road, take it!” —Yogi Berra (4)

“I hope these words of wisdom help you create lives filled with peace, love, and joy. Thank you all for coming to celebrate my special day, and I look forward to our next celebration!”

blooms taxonomy

Imagine yourself walking into your class (workshop or presentation) of adult learners on the first day. What should you have done to prepare for this day? What will you do to welcome your learners and “break the ice”? What activities do you think will work to introduce your learners to the course content? What activities do you think will work well with them after that first day? Please use your text readings for this unit to support your ideas and activities.

Next, consider Bloom’s Taxonomy of Educational Objectives. There are myriad resources about it on the Internet. There has been a revision of Bloom’s Taxonomy in recent years, but we will use the following levels from highest to lowest for the purpose of this discussion:

  • Evaluation.
  • Synthesis.
  • Analysis.
  • Application.
  • Comprehension.
  • Knowledge.

Finally, write an objective, a class activity, and an assessment strategy for each level of the taxonomy. You do not have to teach them all, just show that you understand that there are multiple levels and ways in which to present information. For example, you may use a lecture method with a PowerPoint presentation (knowledge activity) to define important terms (knowledge objective) and then give them a short matching quiz in which they match terms and definitions (knowledge assessment).

Legal Risks of Nurses

Analyze the case of Mrs. Ard below.

It’s Your Gavel…

CHANCE OF SURVIVAL DIMINISHED

On the afternoon of May 20, the patient, Mr. Ard, began feeling nauseated. He was in pain and had shortness of breath. Although his wife rang the call bell several times, it was not until sometime later that evening that someone responded and gave Mrs. Ard medication for the nausea. The nausea continued to worsen. Mrs. Ard then noticed that her husband was having difficulty breathing. He was reeling from side to side in bed. Believing that her husband was dying, she continued to call for help. She estimated that she rang the call bell for 1.25 hours before anyone responded. A code was eventually called. Unfortunately, Mr.Ard did not survive the code. There was no documentation in the medical records for May 20, between 5:30 PM and 6:45 PM, that would indicate that any nurse or physician checked on Ard’s condition. This finding collaborated Mrs. Ard’s testimony regarding this time period.

A wrongful death action was brought against the hospital, and the district court granted judgment for Mrs.Ard. The hospital appealed.

Ms. Krebs, an expert in general nursing, stated that it should have been obvious to the nurses from the physicians’ progress notes that the patient was a high risk for aspiration. This problem was never addressed in the nurses’ care plan or in the nurses’ notes.

On May 20, Ard’s assigned nurse was Ms. Florscheim. Krebs stated that Florscheim did not perform a full assessment of the patient’s respiratory and lung status. There was nothing in the record indicating that she completed such an evaluation after he vomited. Krebs also testified that a nurse did not conduct a swallowing assessment at any time. Although Florscheim testified that she checked on the patient around 6:00 PM on May 20, there was no documentation in the medical record. Ms. Farris, an expert witness for the defense, testified on cross-examination that if a patient was in the type of distress described byMrs.Ard and no nurse checked on him for 1.25 hours, that would fall below the expected standard of care.1

Answer the following questions:

What happened?

Why did things go wrong?

What were the relevant legal issues?

How could the event have been prevented?

What is your verdict?

Your paper must be three to five double-spaced pages (excluding title and reference pages) and formatted according to APA style. Utilize a minimum of two scholarly and/or peer-reviewed sources that were published within the last five years.

Consider social interaction, including aggression and prosocial behavior as well as attraction and relationships.

In this discussion, you will consider social interaction, including aggression and prosocial behavior as well as attraction and relationships.

First, select a book, play, television show, movie, etc., that contains adequate social interaction illustrating both a friend or romantic relationship and an example of aggression or prosocial behavior. Provide necessary information such as the general plot and key characters for the class to understand if they are not familiar with the source. https://paperwriters.xyz/uncategorized/consider-social-interaction-including-aggression-and-prosocial-behavior-as-well-as-attraction-and-relationships/ Then, complete the following:

  • Interpret a depicted voluntary (i.e., friend or romantic) relationship from a social psychological perspective. Point out specific examples to illustrate the following:
    • Which of the various factors in attraction are present in this relationship?
    • Is the relationship based on friendship or love? If love, what type of love is portrayed?
  • Examine a scenario from the source you selected that illustrates either aggression or prosocial behavior.
  • Identify specific course concepts in your analysis, pointing out relevant theory and research. Note that you must utilize at least one relevant scholarly source in addition to your textbook for this portion of the discussion.
    • Aggression:
  • Examine research that examines a possible source of aggression (e.g., the media, weapons, alcohol, environmental factors, etc.). Give specific examples.
  • Explain why this particular variable is/is not harmful. How does this theory/research apply to the scenario you described?
    • Prosocial Behavior:
  • Examine research on prosocial behavior, predicting who will help whom, when, and why (e.g., empathy, cultural norms, gender, religiosity, etc.).
  • Assess whether this information might be useful in reducing aggression/violence. How does this theory/research apply to the scenario you described?
  • For both of the above (attraction and aggression/prosocial behavior),
    • Distinguish situational factors that may influence social relations (attraction, aggression, prosocial behavior, etc.).
    • Discuss the impact of social and cultural differences on social relations (attraction, aggression, prosocial behavior, etc.).

To fully demonstrate content knowledge and critical thinking, in your Social Relations discussion,

  • Interpret course concepts explicitly, applying them to your personal experiences/observations, and cite the required readings as appropriate.
  • Be thorough and specific, structuring your work intentionally (with an introductory and concluding sentence or two), providing clear context, and concisely and precisely explaining relevant course concepts.
  • Use personal examples to illustrate as appropriate, but do be sure to provide an objective analysis too, referencing required materials and using additional sources as needed to support your insight.
  • Use your own Academic Voice (Links to an external site.) and apply in-text citations appropriately throughout your post.
  • Your original post should be a minimum of 300 words.

Need discussion responses. 200 word min w/ references if needed

What data gathering methodology would you use to assess customer satisfaction and why?

-Saldan

Hello

Customer Importance is very important in solving solutions, for a business cannot exist without customers. Therefore in solving problems the effect on the customer should be considered. However, quality, efficiency should also be considered. For if the quality is not there then customers may not return. Furthermore, if a customer has to go through an inefficient process then customer satisfaction will decrease and again customers will not return. Is it possible to have more than one problem with equal weight?

-Beverly Bellamy

Professor and  Class,

I do believe that weighing the customer’s importance is appropriate. A business or organization is in the business making money but ultimately can’t accomplish this without its customers. If they are not weighted by their importance accordingly if this section falls through and in turn, hinders the customer experience. I do also believe that employee satisfaction should be weighed the same as customer importance. This is because the employees need to be happy to provide exceptional service to the customers. Therefore, if both categories are weighed the same the company is ensuring they that have honest, loyal, hardworking employees while also having satisfied customers

Hello

It is important to follow a process for understanding the problem to ensure you are implementing the right solution for the right problem. First, a team must identify the right problem to find the right solution and then implement the solution in the right way. It is a process to identify, solve and implement solutions to a problem. Therefore, if a process is not followed correctly then a team and organization can waste precious time, energy, and resources and still have a problem. Those that are involved in the solution and solution prioritization are those that are responsible for choosing by importance.

Beverly Bellamy

I do believe that a project plan could be created without a project network. I do think things like knowing the various terminal points for a project could be extremely useful but I think you can proceed without knowing all of those terminal points. However, I also think through the process of putting together the project plan, those terminal points will end up being defined anyway, whether through things like discerning the deliverables or defining the milestones.

-Dan

Project network is the lifeline and it determines when and how things should be completed. Things are layed out on a diagram, components are determined how in order and most important it is based on a time of completion. There is an some sort of relationship between all elements and are broken down. As a project plan is the outline and core of project you are working on. It is extremely important to know your intention of the project and set a sturdy foundation. It is important to use all resources available.

I think for the most part they can work without one another, changes and adjustments are made so it is important to understand that their can be mix-ups.

-Andrew

Hello Class,

A resource that I found helpful that I will access to prepare my analysis paper is an article called, “What is the Importance of Project Scheduling & Its Role In Business Projects?”. It describes the positive side to relying on project resources scheduling. It mentions the dependence of the Gantt Chart and how it assists with providing the proper management tools. So that people become capable of preparing and fulfilling a job responsibly and with due time they must analyze projects at ease and pay attention to every little detail. The valid project planning plays a significant part in guaranteeing the project is mastered. This aids in keeping the workers motivated and on the right path to success and provides time frames that are more capable of achieving. When valid tools are offered it becomes easier to control the quality of the item and prevents mistakes from happening on the job. This also helps companies save money and customers leave happy. It is vital to allow financial, proof of work, management, and quality assurance.

I enjoyed that this site discusses various benefits and goes into depth of the significance to Project Scheduling. I easily became aware of future tips I could use in my future career. I disliked how the resource lacks examples of how things could go downhill without the use of resource scheduling. This could make a person not take this subject as serious as it is. However, I did find this source useful and I intend on utilizing it when writing my analysis paper.

-Daisy

Professor Neal,

I also thought that it is possible to create a project plan without including the network. However, this would create issues on the job such as misunderstanding what needs to get done to even having invalid numbers. This could interfere how long it takes to complete a project to going over the budget. Understanding the terminal points would help because wokers would realize what needs to happen in the first stage in order to move on to the next step. What are the correct steps in creating a project network? What tools can one utilize to demonstrate this?

-Daisy
