Need help with HR Class, Final Project Submission – OL-325-H5085 Total Rewards 21EW5

7-1 Final Project Submission – OL-325-H5085 Total Rewards 21EW5 –

The final version of your entire project is due at the end of this module. This version will include revisions based on instructor feedback to Milestones One and Two.

Note: The final project also includes a new pay mix section, below. This is not included in Milestones One and Two and must be completed prior to submission.

Pay Mix: A pay mix is a company’s relative distribution of compensation components such as base pay, merit, incentives, benefits, etc. (Gerhart & Newman, 2020). Different job grades may have different pay mixes. For example, executives often have a higher percentage of long-term incentives. Pay mixes are often illustrated in a pie chart. Below is an example of a pay mix pie chart. Note: numbers used are not from the data in this case study.

Create a pay mix for each job family, illustrated in a pie chart. Provide a rationale for each pay mix, connecting your decision to the company’s strategic goals. In addition, provide at least three examples of employee benefits you recommend the company propose in their total compensation package. Refer to the Add a Pie Chart resource in this module’s Reading and Resources section if you have not created a pie chart using Excel data.

To complete this assignment, read the Final Project Guidelines and Rubric document for detailed information on the requirements for this project.

Your KF7028 research proposal will be approximately 2500 – 3000 words and specify the projectbackground, motivation and relevance to your programme of study; its scope, aims and objectives; a plan of the major activities. Your proposal should draw on current and recent research and other appropriate sources of information and cite these sources using a consistent standard referencing system. The proposal will be assessed by your allocated module tutors for the module or by your supervisor and a second marker, feedbackwill be provided, consisting of suggestions and comments on how to improve the project.

You will be allocated your project supervisor in semester two of your study period. If you start your study in September, you will be allocated a project supervisor in second semester January – May. If you start your study in January, you will be allocated your supervisor in your second semester September – January

This proposal should be based on the outcome of your own research and of the meetings with your tutors, peers and supervisors. This supervisor/tutors will be confirmed with you by the end of week 6.  By this time you should have produced a draft copy of your proposal. Your supervisor/tutor will provide individual support and formative feedback during the preparation of your research proposal.

The Proposal Structure – You are advised to following the structure outlined below.

Project Details – Front Cover

· Module: KF7028 – Research and Project Management

· Module tutor: Shelagh Keogh

· Assignment title: MSc Research Proposal’

· Student name + university identifier (always underline the surname/family name by which you are recorded in the university systems)

· Programme or course of study

· The name of your supervisor, and the name of your second marker

· Confirmation that you have submitted draft outline of the project for ethical approval

· Word Count

Research question

You should aim to outline a research question. This research question defines what you want to study and is the first step in development of your project proposal.

Aim

Produce a summary of what your project will achieve in one or two sentences.

Background, Motivation and Relevance – literature review

· Set out and justify, using supporting literature, where your work will fit in the computing body of knowledge.

· Outline and critically discuss what relevant research has been undertaken, in the past, in your area of interest and why this project is necessary.

· Outline and critically discuss why the research will be of value, in the future, and what the anticipated impact of the outcomes will be.

· Provide a diagram such as a mind map illustrating the position in the computing body of knowledge.

· Outline why you want to undertake this work, some areas to consider are, personal motivation, skills set and career choices, a gap in the knowledge base.

Scope, Objectives and Risk

· Outline and justify the scope of your project – what you intend to do, you may also want to say what you will not include but might be expected by others to be incorporated.

· Outline numbered steps (SMART Objectives) you will have to complete in order to achieve the aims and would provide sufficient work to conclude your research question.

After each objective outline the deliverables and or outcomes that will be produced as a result of this objective’s work.  Outline how you will assess and or measure the quality for that objective. Outline what research method/design you will adopt for each objective and how each method will support one another.

· Break down the objectives into tasks and produce a task list, each task should outline, deliverable, resources (all types) required, skills required, time required.

· Produce a risk log (see example on your Blackboard Assessment tab) for you project. Each objective should be assessed based on risks, such as technical, personal, resources, time, and costs etc factors.

Sources and use of Knowledge

· Identify and justify a journal where your work would be relevant for publication.

· Identify and apply aspects of the standards for publication in the target journal that you can incorporate into your project proposal, so for example the referencing system, font style and pitch etc, instructions usually found under the journal’s advice to authors.

· Identify, justify and critically discuss any authors, journals where previous relevant research has been published within the last 5 years.

· Ethics, Legal, Social, Security and Professional Issues

Using literature, write out a separate section for Ethics, Legal, Social, Security and Professional Issues. In your deliberations discuss, explore and define all of the issues associated with your project, including how you will consider security issues. If you think an area of this section is not applicable to your project, you should justify why this is the case; leaving any section blank will result in a loss of marks.

Schedule of Activities

Using your task list, construct a Gantt chart and a Monitoring and Control table (see examples given your Blackboard Assessment tab. The monitoring and control table is set up in this proposal but used during the execution of your KF7029 project.

References: these should be primarily used to support your Background, Ethics, Legal, Social, Security and Professional Issues sections and include the latest relevant research in your chosen topic area. All references in the reference list must also appear within the body of the report. There is no ideal number of references recommended but a guide might be no less than 10 – 15 sources should be used.

Ethics process- every project must be ethically approved you should complete a draft of your ethical approval process before submitting your proposal, you will conclude the ethical submission after receiving your feedback from your proposal. Failure to carry out the ethics process will result in you not being able to start your project; it may also mean a 5% reduction in marks. To draft your ethical approval, go to “ethics online”, via your My Northumbria page. You will be asked for the following information:

Module tutor (enter Shelagh Keogh)

Supervisor (enter the name of your supervisor)

Coordinator (enter the name of your supervisor)

A sample ethics submission is available on Blackboard.

Presentation Guidelines

Notes on presentation & submission:

The research report must be written and presented to an appropriate academic standard for a postgraduate programme of study.

· The proposal will be assessed in terms of style, meaning, and the accuracy of spelling, grammar, punctuation and syntax.

· Correct and thorough referencing of your sources of information is required. You should follow a consistent referencing system, and provide a full reference list and brief references in the text of your answer. ‘Cite them Right’ advises direct quotations should be indicated by quotation marks or indentation, and referenced. Failure to acknowledge your sources or to indicate when you are quoting constitutes plagiarism. You are encouraged to work with each other to discuss the challenges encountered, but you must not work with each other to construct your answers. Action will be taken in accordance with the University regulations if academic misconduct is suspected. This may result in a loss of marks for the assignment or module.

POSITIVE THEORY

Applying Applying Positive Theory

The Positive philosophy states that offenders break the law partly due to factors outside their control that influence their behavior. Some of these factors were listed in the online lesson this week.

For each of the crimes listed below, indicate which Positive factors (if any) you would take into consideration if you were a judge deciding the offender’s sentence and justify your answer. For example, when sentencing a sex offender, you might decide that the offender’s history of being abused as a child should be taken into consideration. If you do not believe that any such factors should be taken into consideration, that is OK; just explain your thoughts.

Consider the following examples:

  1. Burglary/theft—the offender broke into three houses and stole electronics and money.
  2. Aggravated battery—the offender attacked a victim and caused significant injury.
  3. Possession of controlled substance—the offender possessed two ounces of marijuana and 20 prescription pain killers (without a prescription).
  4. Stalking—the offender followed or contacted someone repeatedly, causing fear.

Considering your responses to these examples, discuss the role of punishment in preventing these types of crimes. Can punishment be used to reduce the frequency of these types of crimes? Explain your views.

Case study: https://mitsloan.mit.edu/sites/default/files/2020-03/Sony%27s%20Battle%20for%20Video%20Game%20Supremacy.IC__0.pdf

Play as an individual

Use any code to log in

To begin, read the simulation case study and access the simulation at https://forio.com/simulate/mit/video-game/simulation/index.html (Links to an external site.) You will make four rounds of decisions for this case study. Round 1 = Year 1; Round 2= Year 2; Round 3= Year 5; and Round 4=Year 10 (end). Round 1: Read the case study. Make decisions for the first year. Be sure to consider the amount of competition and where this product in its product life cycle (PLC). Based off the information in the case study, identify an initial Console price ($/unit) This is the price that will be charged to consumers to buy the console. The number of game titles to subsidize 49million ($/year) This is the number of games that the console maker will produce specifically for their console in order to promote their console. Royalty paid by game makers (% of revenues/year). The royalty that game makers (i.e. 3rd parties) must pay the console maker in order to have access to their console player. Input these numbers into the simulation. Next, copy your income statement and dashboard and paste into an excel spreadsheet or your word document. Analyze these two statements. Specifically, note your market share, revenues, net income, and cumulative profit. In your write-up identify why you chose the price, number of game titles and royalty. Based off your analysis of the analytics provided by the simulation, what changes will you make in round 2. Provide rationale for these changes. (i.e. Do you need to charge a higher price for the console? Do you need to subsidize more games, etc.)? How does the competition impact your decision? How does the stage of the product lifecycle impact your decisions for the next round? Round 2, 3 and 4: Based on your analysis of your previous round(s) results, modify your console price, game titles to subsidize and royalty paid by game makers. Again, copy your income statement and dashboard and paste into your word document or a spreadsheet. Specifically, note your market share, revenues, net income, and cumulative profit. Based off your analysis of the analytics provided by the simulation, what changes will you make in the next round. Provide rationale for these changes. (i.e. Do you need to charge a higher price for the console? Do you need to subsidize more games, etc.)? How does the competition impact your decision? How does the stage of the product lifecycle impact your decisions for the next round? Complete this exercise for rounds 2, 3, and 4. Conclusion: After the final round, report your final income statement. Provide a one or two paragraph reflection on what you learned from this simulation. You may “play” the simulation as many times as you would like in order to achieve the best results (and to learn from the simulation)! Your final write-up should contain the following, and will be graded as follows: Title page (1 point) Introduction (2 points) Round 1 – decisions, rationale, evaluation of results and recommendations for the next round (9 points) Round 2 – decisions, rationale, evaluation of results and recommendations for the next round (9 points) Round 3 – decisions, rationale, evaluation of results and recommendations for the next round (9 points) Round 4 – decisions, rationale, and evaluation of results (8 points) Conclusion and reflection (8 points) Proper grammar and spelling (4 points)

Week 8 debating the right to health care scenario and reflection

Reflections: Make sure that you are utilizing proper APA format. This includes a title page in the beginning and a reference page at the end. A running head and page number should be on the top of each page. Don’t forget to cite your resources within the text, as well as at the end on your reference page. Make sure that you are reviewing the rubric for the assignment, so that you know what is expected. It is important that you understand what the assignment is asking you to do. Make sure to demonstrate an understanding of the main issues by comparing the different points of views and utilizing supporting evidence. Utilizing outside resources assists in demonstrating a comprehension of the issues that are being discussed. Lastly, be careful of your grammar and wording. Make sure that your writing is clear and is not difficult to understand. The writing center is available to review your paper before submitting so that you can gain the best possible score.

Make sure to answer these questions in your Reflection Papers:

1)What are the key points of contention on this topic?

2)What side of the argument (stance) do you take on this topic?

3)What strong points does the other side of this topic have?

Describe two external stressors that are unique to adolescents.

 Topic 3 DQ 2

Two external stressors unique to adolescents would include school and peer demands and separation/divorce of their parents. According to Falkner (2018) “Stressors, such as bullying, cyberbullying, depression, relationship violence, and suicide, are all dynamics teenagers may face” (para. 32). Adolescents are at a unique stage of life, no longer a child but not yet an adult. Most adolescents do not have the coping ability to deal with high stress so they react negatively such as withdrawal, physical or mental illness or turn to alcohol or drug abuse. Teens have a lot of school demands including good grades, extracurricular activities and fitting in with their peers. Another common issue is their parents separating and/or divorcing and the unknowns that can come with that. They may turn to unsafe acts such as racing cars/unsafe driving, unsafe sex and/or partying. Parents/caregivers can support their teens by giving advice and providing support to them when they face problems.

External stressors lead to anxiety, depression, and can also result in suicide. Teens can decrease stress by using techniques and coping mechanisms such as exercising and eating regularly, avoiding alcohol, drugs, tobacco, and excessive caffeine, learn relaxation techniques such as abdominal breathing and muscle relaxation techniques, listening to music, talking to friends, drawing, and writing (American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, 2020). Some coping mechanisms that is good to learn includes good eating and sleeping habits, physical exercise and having a good network of friends that are supportive and trustworthy. Good listening is also important and developing trust with their parents. I have also found lead by example is important as I recently had two teenager children. It was a difficult time but by God’s grace, we survived. If teens learn these coping mechanisms and manage stress, they can go onto become successful adults.

Using 200-300 words APA format with references support the discussion

Describe two external stressors that are unique to adolescents. Discuss what risk-taking behaviors may result from the external stressors and what support or coping mechanism can be introduced.
