Tessile, S. A., a company based in Turin, Italy, is a medium-size company that manufactures, sells, and exports textiles. An increased demand for the company’s high-quality textiles has led to the approval by its CEO, Giuseppe Franco, to implement a major expansion to other markets. Mr. Franco is seen as a visionary leader in the textile industry as he transformed a cotton plantation company into one of the major textiles companies in northern Italy.Mr. Franco recently led an aggressive and successful series of acquisitions of wineries in southern and central Italy. Mr. Franco wants to follow these acquisitions by purchasing and introducing Tessile S.A. to the tourist and cheese industries. However, these last winery acquisitions left the company in serious debt and with its shares losing value due to the perceived negative view of Mr. Franco’s strategy by its shareholders moving away from their core textile business. You have been assigned to advise Tessile, S.A. board of directors on identifying potential hazards, threats, and risks of Tessile’s business strategies.Create a PowerPoint presentation that consists of at least 10 slides with a separate title slide and reference slide (not included in your number count). Be sure to include the following information in your presentation:

  • Explain the process you will use to identify potential hazards, threats, and risks of the company’s current business strategies.
  • Identify the potential hazards, threats, and risks that you discovered when using your process.

Be sure to include notes in your presentation where necessary. All sources used, including the textbook, must be referenced; paraphrased and quoted material must have accompanying citations.

With the same two (2) forces in mind, predict what the company might do to improve its ability to address these forces in the near future.

Identify what you consider to be the greatest external threat to this corporation. Discuss how the corporation should address this threat. Justify your explanation.

Identify what you consider to be the greatest opportunity presented to the corporation, and discuss how the corporation should take advantage of this opportunity. Justify your explanation

Use at least three (3) quality references. Note: Wikipedia and other Websites do not qualify as academic resources . The corporation I choose is Dell Inc.

Critical and Creative Reflection 1

This Critical Reflection is based on readings and videos in Module 1 & Module 2

Complete a 3-5 page (double-spaced) or 3-5 min video critically reflecting on and responding to the readings:

The idea of critical reflections/responses are to engage in thoughtful internal dialogue about the idea of global issues and education. You should attempt, in your understanding of the readings and videos to get “underneath” what you read/watched in order to understand the social, political, and cultural underpinnings of the issues. Reading/Watching critically involves more than understanding the words or liking or disliking the texts; critical reading requires reflection. Please do not simply summarize the readings or videos.

Critical Reflections Check List:

  1. Was I thorough? Did I write at least 3-5 pages or create a 3-5 min video and did I submit on time? 😉 (4 points)
  2. Did I identify and address some of the major arguments/points/principles in the readings? Did I discuss and incorporate ideas from 3-5 readings or videos, or more, and did I include at least 1 quote or key idea per reading/video (and cite accordingly) and react to this statement or idea? How are my views challenged or supported by these ideas? (4 points)
  3. Did I make connections text-to-text, text-to-self and text-world connections? (4 points)
  4. Did I discuss how this will impact my own teaching practice, work in my intended career and/or future social interactions? Did I give specific examples when possible? (4 points)
  5. Did I pose a clear/non-rhetorical question for future discussion/reflection based on the selected readings/videos? (4 points)

Personal energy equation

Step 1. Calculate your BMI and BMR

On this website, use the calculators to compute your BMI (Body Mass Index) and your BMR ( basal metabolic rate – the calories you burn just staying alive.

Step 2.  Compute your AEE (activity energy expenditure) in planned or spontaneous physical activity.

  • If your primary form of physical activity is walking, record how far you walked and estimate how briskly you walked. If you regularly workout at a gym or fitness facility, record the length and intensity of your workout. Using a treadmill or other type of exercise machine will give you a lot of information, but if you don’t have access to that equipment just write down what you do, how long you do it, and estimate intensity.
  • You can also use any of the mobile apps, FitBit or other tracking devices, or an old fashioned pedometer to track the number of steps you walked.

Step 3: Compute your TEE (total energy expenditure)

Add your BMR and an average of your AEE for the day you tracked your physical activity.

Step 4: Depict and Discuss Your Energy Equation

  • Devise a way of showing how your input compares to your output. This can be a simple table, a graph, or a chart.
  • Using the link below, write a brief discussion in which you address the following questions:
  • Did input and output come close to balancing each other out? Was output more than input, or was the opposite true?
  • Its not just calorie totals that are important in diet analysis. Looking at the total energy input for the day you tracked, were the proportions of each of the three macronutrients in line with the Guideline recommendations? Does your total calorie intake represent the concept of proportionality so that you have a “balanced” diet?
    • Did carbohydrates supply 50-60% of your total caloric intake? Were added sugars less than 10% of your total carbohydrate intake?
    • Did 25-30% of your total caloric intake come from fats, with less than 10% being from saturated fats?
    • Did protein (plant and animal) account for no more than 15-25% of your total caloric intake?
  • If you were to make every day for the next six months look like this one, do you think you would lose or gain weight? Why?
  • Be sure to include your “energy equation”in the body of your paper.
  • Attach as Word documents copies of your Nutrient Report and your Activity Report from SuperTracker or an equivalent app. (https://www.supertracker.usda.gov)

Instructions
Business Process Costing

For this assignment, you will explain managerial concepts as they pertain to business process costing. You will select a business process, describe the inputs and outputs, and define the job roles. In your paper, you will evaluate the current process effectiveness, estimate the cost of the process, and propose any improvements for management’s consideration. Be sure you have reviewed the assigned chapters and required unit resources on business process management.

Instructions:

Consider a business process using a firm with which you are familiar. Business processes include the following tasks:

  • developing and managing products and services,
  • marketing and selling products and services,
  • managing customer service,
  • developing and managing human capital, and
  • managing information technology.

Once you have identified the firm and business process, select, describe, and discuss the business process by elaborating on the following information:

  • what starts and what ends the process (inputs and outputs),
  • what roles (jobs) participate in the process (map them),
  • the effectiveness of the current process,
  • the cost of the process (document any assumptions), and
  • any improvements for management consideration.

Your paper should be written in a Word document and should be a minimum of three pages in length. You should include at least two resources to support your paper. Adhere to APA Style when creating citations and references.

The Annotated Bibliography

Objective:  Assess sources for your research for your final presentation (for credibility, reliability, and relevance) and list references in proper APA reference list format. That means the sources you use for this assignment should be directly related to the species that you chose in the Week 1 Discussion of the class. Remember, the organism you selected in Week 1, is the organism you will research for the associated assignments in the course.

Assignment Instructions:  The Research Project/Presentation for this class is divided into three major Assignments, 1) annotated bibliography, 2) outline, and 3) final presentation. The first part is the annotated bibliography. An annotation is a summary and evaluation, and your annotated bibliography will include a summary and evaluation of some of the sources (or references) you will use for your presentation.

To prepare for this assignment, I recommend that you do the following:

  • Read these directions carefully.
  • Review the sample annotated bibliography provided to you below.
  • Read the BIOL180 – Annotated Bibliography Grading Criteria below. The grading criteria is a detailed evaluation that I will use to assess your performance. It will also help you understand what is expected of you as you prepare your assignment.
  • Use your own words (paraphrase). For help with paraphrasing, please review the ‘Quoting and Paraphrasing’ help in the Trefry Library [email protected] Center.
  • Note that your Turinitin report similarity score should be under 20% (not including references) and free of paraphrasing issues. Review the color-flagged text on your report, fix any issues, and resubmit again before the deadline.
  • Note that less than 10% of your work should contain direct quotes.
  • Message me with any questions!

The reason the annotated bibliography is included as part of the research project is that writing an annotated bibliography is important in that it provides excellent preparation for the final presentation. One of the issues regarding any type of research, especially in biology, is the credibility of the sources used, particularly those obtained from various websites. By forcing you to evaluate each of your potential sources carefully, the annotated bibliography helps you determine if, in fact, the source you chose is credible and helps you determine how relevant it is to your topic and understand the topic better, which will help you develop your presentation.

For this project, you will assess three sources to include:

1) a complete citation (in reference list format) for each source,

2) a summary of each source, and

3) an evaluation of each source.

Three sources are required for this assignment (i.e., you are to write an annotation for each source).  However, you must use five or more sources in your final presentation.

Use this TEMPLATE to summarize and evaluate each of your three sources.    <—— Click to download the required template and fill in your answers.

  1. Citation:

Written in APA reference list format. For more help with formatting, see the APA handout.

  1. Summary:

What is the purpose of the source, review article, original research? What topics are covered? This section is generally 4-6 sentences that summarize the author’s main point. For more help, see this link on paraphrasing sources.

  1. Evaluation:

After summarizing the article (or research paper or book), it is necessary to evaluate it and state where you found it – its source (e.g., journal, website, etc.).  Briefly answer the following questions in 4-6 sentences:

What is the format or type of source (e.g., peer-reviewed journal paper, website, book)? How reliable is the information in the article, and how credible is the source (e.g., the website’s sponsoring organization, journal, or book publisher) and the author(s)?

For more help, see this handout on evaluating resources.

Compare the physical assessment of a child to that of an adult.

 Topic 2 DQ 2

Physical health assessment is a structured physical examination that allows a nurse to obtain a complete assessment of the patient’s health status. Typically, the techniques that should be applied to the physical assessment process: Are — inspection, palpation, percussion, and auscultation (Registered Nursing, 2021).

Before the actual physical assessment, the patient undergoes an interview to collect medical information. While this might be an easy process for adults and older children, getting information from a young child requires a lot of strategies and patience (Registered Nursing, 2021)

To get information from young children, the nurse would have to rely on their mothers to provide the data while at the same time engaging the child by talking to him/her through the interview process. The nurse must develop a good rapport with the child to gain his/her full Cooperations; listening and using appropriate communication techniques are essential in this process. A calm and reassuring manner of the nurse will help to gain a child’s confidence; use Suitable toys or other aids can be used to help the child interact with the nurse (Registered Nursing, 2021)

During the interview, the nurse can begin by asking the child trivial questions like his/her name, favorite food, cartoon character, etc., and then subtly lead to the questions that might help assess the child’s health status.

In the case of adults and older children, the interview can begin directly. When it comes to physical examination of the body, again, the approach will have to be different for a young child than an adult or older child. A child might not like someone else touches him/her. The nurse will have to win the trust, and the parent will have to be there to reassure the child. If the child is in pain, then examining that part of the body might be a bit more complicated, but again tactics and communication skills of the nurse will help (Registered Nursing, 2021).

For grown-ups, the physical examinations will be much easier because they know what is happening and why it is happening. On the other hand, a young child might be scared of the instruments used to examine them. The nurse should engage in active listening with an adult patient while paying attention to verbal and nonverbal cues. Ask open-ended questions that would allow the patient to detail the actual symptoms needed to ascertain what is happening to the patient. (Walden University, 2021) Be empathetic with an adult patient by saying you understand what he/she is going through so that you can gain his/her trust in the interview process. The nurse can also validate and reassure the patient that their problems would be addressed while in your care. Another strategy is transitions and empowerment of the patient in the interview process to help alleviate their fear of the unknown in the current health issues(Walden University, 2021).So, physical assessment of a child will differ from an adult intact, but the techniques are the same.

Respond to the above post using 200-300 words APA format with reference by supporting the discussion.

Compare the physical assessment of a child to that of an adult. In addition to describing the similar/different aspects of the physical assessment, explain how the nurse would offer instruction during the assessment, how communication would be adapted to offer explanations, and what strategies the nurse would use to encourage engagement.

Week 1 discussion -834 spring 2021

Many business environments have both visible and invisible physical security controls. You see them at the post office, at the corner store, and in certain areas of your own computing environment. They are so pervasive that some people choose where they live based on their presence, as in gated access communities or secure apartment complexes. Alison is a security analyst for a major technology corporation that specializes in data management. This company includes an in house security staff (guards, administrators, and so on) that is capable of handling physical security breaches. Brad experienced an intrusion—into his personal vehicle in the company parking lot. He asks Alison whether she observed or recorded anyone breaking into and entering his vehicle, but this is a personal item and not a company possession, and she has no control or regulation over damage to employee assets. This is understandably unnerving for Brad, but he understands that she’s protecting the business and not his belongings.

When or where would you think it would be necessary to implement security measures for both?

Please make your initial post. A substantive post will do at least TWO of the following:

  • Ask an interesting, thoughtful question pertaining to the topic
  • Answer a question (in detail) posted by another student or the instructor
  • Provide extensive additional information on the topic
  • Explain, define, or analyze the topic in detail
  • Share an applicable personal experience
  • Provide an outside source (for example, an article from the UC Library) that applies to the topic, along with additional information about the topic or the source (please cite properly in APA 7)
  • Make an argument concerning the topic.

At least one scholarly source should be used in the initial discussion thread. Be sure to use information from your readings and other sources from the UC Library. Use proper citations and references in your post.
