·  Format the memo to include:

o Restatement of Facts (paraphrase)

o Identify at least three main issues based on these facts

o Provide a conclusion for each issue

o Include the analysis that led you to the conclusion for each issue. This analysis should refer to the primary authority that best addresses the issue.

o Primary authority would include items such as the Internal Revenue Code, Regulations, Court Cases, etc. These also should be paraphrased in order to highlight your understanding of the primary authority and how it relates specifically to the issue. Tax Topics and IRS publications are NOT primary source material.

· Submit the assignment using a Turnitin assignment dropbox.

o Turnitin, is an online resource that checks your work against: the submissions of others, books, articles, tax code, etc., in order to verify originality of your content.  Given that everyone in the course is working on the same problem and using the same format, the service will likely find some similarity in your paper.  Upon submission you will be able to see your score immediately, as others submit their papers your score may increase.  Should you resubmit your paper, the originality score will not be viewable for 12-24 hours.

o I use the information supplied by TurnItIn as well as my professional judgment to determine the originality of your paper. A high similarity rating is an indication of either plagiarism or insufficient original content on your part. Plagiarism is a serious violation of the student’s code of conduct and will be handled by the Student Affairs office.

Discussion: Organizational Policies and Practices to Support Healthcare Issues,NURS 6053/NURS 6053N/NRSE 6053C/NURS 6053C/NURS 6053A/NRSE 6053A: Interprofessional Organizational and Systems Leadership

Quite often, nurse leaders are faced with ethical dilemmas, such as those associated with choices between competing needs and limited resources. Resources are finite, and competition for those resources occurs daily in all organizations.

For example, the use of 12-hour shifts has been a strategy to retain nurses. However, evidence suggests that as nurses work more hours in a shift, they commit more errors. How do effective leaders find a balance between the needs of the organization and the needs of ensuring quality, effective, and safe patient care?

In this Discussion, you will reflect on a national healthcare issue and examine how competing needs may impact the development of polices to address that issue.

To Prepare:

  • Review the Resources and think about the national healthcare issue/stressor you previously selected for study in Module 1.
  • Reflect on the competing needs in healthcare delivery as they pertain to the national healthcare issue/stressor you previously examined.

By Day 3 of Week 3

Post an explanation of how competing needs, such as the needs of the workforce, resources, and patients, may impact the development of policy. Then, describe any specific competing needs that may impact the national healthcare issue/stressor you selected. What are the impacts, and how might policy address these competing needs? Be specific and provide examples.

By Day 6 of Week 3

Respond to at least two of your colleagues on two different days by providing additional thoughts about competing needs that may impact your colleagues’ selected issues, or additional ideas for applying policy to address the impacts described.

Become familiar with GCU’s Doctoral DNA website at

https://www.gcumedia.com/doctoralDNA/prospective-students/v2.1/#/home. What did you learn about your doctoral journey that you did not know before you visited the website? How will the doctoral DNA help you in preparation for your doctoral journey?

Re: Module 8 DQ 2

1.  Jessica Rodriguez

The doctoral journey as laid out by Grand Canyon University is intended to take roughly three years. However, after inspection of the website and specifically the “life cycle” portion of the site, it is evident that the first two years of a doctoral student is spent truly understanding the topic of the intended dissertation followed by intense course work that builds up the skills required to begin creating the paper that will detail out the hard work that the student has undergone. Once the student does achieve the third year, then the learner will move through nine milestones rapidly to achieve the intended goal. There are a lot of milestones set for the students, however, they are laid out in a manner that sets small achievable goals for a year that lead to the ultimate goal of successfully completing the dissertation. This journey is difficult and met with many obstacles that are not laid out in the “life cycle” due to many variables that can happen in the individual student’s life (Gardner, & Holley, 2011), however, there is a community set up for the doctoral students of Grand Canyon University that help aid them especially with encouragement throughout the process.

The doctoral DNA resource page is a wealth of information and a reminder of why I began this journey. The Doctor of Education in Organizational Leadership program will hopefully help me grow and develop into a thoughtful leader who values her teachers and pupils. I am hoping that this program will mold me into an effective communicator, critical thinker, and a responsible and understanding servant leader. The doctoral DNA will help me prepare for my doctoral journey in the way that the program scaffolds the curriculum, integrates dissertation practices, and provides thorough feedback on my writing to ultimately achieve my dissertation goals.

I would be doing myself a disservice if I didn’t acknowledge how afraid I am on this journey. On the cusp of my third class in this program, I find myself wondering what I am doing here. With the completion of this course, there are only three more courses in my first year! I will be a second-year doctoral student and just twenty-four short weeks. I know that it doesn’t seem like much, but I still feel like I don’t belong. I am battling imposter syndrome (Gardner & Holley, 2011). Here I am, three degrees later, as a teacher, mother, and student, I feel out of place here on this academic plan. I pray that God gives me the strength to continue along this path that he has sent me on because I know that all things are possible through Christ, and without his help, leadership, and guidance, I would not be long for this world.

Revisit the definition of leadership you constructed in Module 1. Based on your experiences engaging with the course readings, discussions, and assignments, in what ways has your definition of leadership changed? Explain. How has your worldview influenced the nature and extent of these changes? Explain. How do you now view yourself in the context of organizational leadership or as a leader of others? Why is this significant? How might the way you now view yourself in the context of organizational leadership or as a leader of others influence your dissertation research topic? Explain.

My experiences with the course materials and discussions have broadened my definition of leadership to include aspects of traits, behaviors, and styles. I maintain my opinion that a leader is a representative of a group, and no matter the style, leadership is an influential force that focuses on adaptive and constructive change (Northouse, 2016). However, ethics has been an added component to my conceptualization of leadership. Prior to this course, I had not actively thought about my worldview impacting my understanding of leadership. The course readings and further literature review revealed to me the impact an educational leader’s behaviors has on both perceptions and organizational productivity (Webster & Litchka, 2020). I now acknowledge that authentic and ethical response to diverse needs of followers is essential for effective leadership (DenHartog & Dehoogh, 2009). With this new outlook on leadership, I recognize the importance of ethical behaviors, as well as the impact authentic recognition of differences can have on my own leadership effectiveness. In regards to my dissertation, I’ve gained a better understanding of the significance of best practices and evidence-based practices on both students and teachers within special education. I plan to explore the academic effects of specific co-teaching models on learning objectives within the inclusive classroom, primarily so that I can better lead special and general education teachers to more intentional and effective teaching.

As Northouse (2016) stated, any member of a group in any setting can be a leader, it is not something of a personality trait that is inside us.In the behavioral educational setting, there are leaders who are vocal but also have a great work ethic who are able to pay attention to detail of what is going on around them.My experience with the course readings, discussions, and assignments have helped me broadened my thinking of how leadership is perceived.“Emulating the style of others or flexing your own in new ways does not make you inauthentic; it means your growing as a leader” (Peterson et. al., p. 75, 2020).My definition of being a leader has changed after realizing that a leader is not someone who just leads, but someone that the followers look up to and able to take the blame when failure shows up regardless if it was not their fault.I now realize that being a leader is being true to oneself and being able to help others that need it.My worldview has been influenced by the changes over the readings and seeing how the leaders at my school show how we can make it through this difficult transition from going from in-person teaching to remote-teaching and then to hybrid-teaching.The organizational leadership that has been displayed this year from the leaders while standing by their side really shows the difficult decisions that are made as a leader. How this influences my dissertation topic is very little, but it shows that the fight I have to advocate for myself during this difficult time, knowing that I am able to make it through with the support of my organization and the leaders. The influence shown has made me think of how difficult it is to work in a behavioral residential program doing in-person teaching and remote learning at the same time, but also shows me the leader I look up to is there for us in our time of need.It shows me what is needed to be displayed as a leader regardless of the decisions that are made.

Personal and Professional Time Management

 Critical Thinking

 Important!

Choose one of the following two assignments to complete this week. Do not do both assignments. Identify your assignment choice in the title of your submission.

Option #1: Identifying Most Valuable Activities (MVA) Worksheet

In the Module 1 video, Time Management Fundamentals (Crenshaw, 2018), you were asked to complete several worksheets to help you improve your time management skills. Using the Glossary and the Most Valuable Activities (MVA) worksheet attached, prepare a short essay addressing the following points:

  • Identify the terms listed in the Glossary that are most significant for you.
  • List your current work activities identified on the worksheet.
  • Identify your two MVAs and briefly explain why they are most valuable to you.
  • Explain how you plan to budget time for your most valuable activities.
  • Describe at least one takeaway from the video training course that you will apply and continue to use throughout your education.

Option #2: Mental Triggers Worksheet

In the Module 1 video, Time Management Fundamentals (Crenshaw, 2018), you were asked to complete several worksheets to help you improve your time management skills. In this video, Crenshaw (2018) identified multitasking as switch tasking and noted this practice as a thief.

After completing the Mental Triggers worksheet and the Gathering Points worksheet, both attached, prepare a short essay addressing the following points:

  • List your Mental Triggers and corresponding task(s) as directed in the  Mental Triggers  Worksheet.
  • Identify and record the number of Gathering Points found in your Total Box from the  Time Management Fundamentals   Gathering Points
  • Identify and record your Target Total from this Worksheet.
  • Briefly describe your plans to reach the Target Total.
  • Describe at least one takeaway from the video training course that you will apply and continue to use throughout your education

Analytical Essay

Students must write a research paper–using both primary and secondary sources–that answers the following question:

J.A. Hobson, a British theorist, and Vladimir Lenin, the Russian revolutionary and leader of the Bolshevik (later Communist Party) in the Soviet Union, both criticized late 19th century imperialism as a capitalist conspiracy by “big business” to subjugate colonies for pure economic gain.  Colonies provided cheap raw materials and guaranteed markets for European and U.S. “trusts and monopolies”.  But what about ideological factors such as the idea of the “Civilizing Mission” or Manifest Destiny? By the late 19th century, the U.S. joined other European powers in constructing an empire. The question is this: what were the primary motivations and factors that led to the U.S. shift from isolationism and continental expansion to imperialism by the late 19th and early 20th centuries?

  • The length of the paper should be 4-5 pages (approximately 1500-1700 words not including citations).
  • The paper must be typed in Times New Roman 12-point font and double-spaced.
  • For background information please see American Promise, Chapter 20 .  You must provide at least 3 outside sources (besides the two assigned texts), at least one of which must be a primary source.
  • All sources must be correctly cited using the Chicago Manual of Style. You must also provide a separate Bibliography at the end of your paper.  Please go to Student Resources for a link to the Chicago Manual of Style.

Rubric

– Language is clearly organized. Word usage, spelling, and punctuation are excellent. Provides a complex and sophisticated thesis with supporting evidence.

-Should discuss and analyze the historical context and components of U.S. Imperialism.

-Correct use of citations, correct and specific reference made to supplementary sources.

-Concepts, assumptions, and conclusions are clearly and thoroughly expressed. Analysis is logical and thorough. Complete support of either ideological motivations or material motivations for U.S. Imperialism. Or even discuss a blending of the two through chronology or circumstance (a sign of a more sophisticated essay).

Financial Management III Scenario

Hello everyone, I have an Assignment for you today. This assignment must be DONE by Sunday, May 16, 2021, no later than 10 pm. By the way, I need this assignment to be PLAGIARISM FREE & a Spell Check when completed. Make sure you READ the instructions CAREFULLY. Now without further ado, the instructions to the assignments are below:

Instructions

Read the scenario below, and answer the following questions. You work as a financial analyst at a large automobile corporation that occasionally makes acquisitions of smaller companies that specialize in the production and assembly of small component parts. In order to achieve vertical integration of its newest sports sedan model, the company is evaluating a few manufacturing companies that have experienced strong financial performance in the past few years. These companies would make excellent acquisitions due to the nature and quality of the product and the anticipated ease of transition. You have been tasked to evaluate these companies from a financial perspective and choose one. To do this, you need to brush up on a few concepts by addressing the following topics:

  1. Describe what a crediting rate/score is. Should this be a factor in evaluating companies?
  2. The firm will need to raise funds immediately for the acquisition, and debt will be used. Should the firm borrow on a long-term or short-term basis? Why?
  3. Explain the effect, if any, inflation rates will have on the purchase? How significant is this factor?
  4. Define the relationship between yield curves and the term structure of interest rates.
  5. Explain what would happen to interest rates if a new process was developed that allowed automobiles to run off oil that was formulated based on lemonade? The technology used to convert this liquid to gas would be pricey but well worth it. What impact would this technology have on interest rates?
  6. Discuss what ratios should be used to assess the financial health of the potential acquisition?

Your completed case study must be at least two pages in length, and you can use at least your textbook or credible education website (or platform) as a reference. Other references may be used as needed. Adhere to APA Style when creating citations and references for this assignment.

By the way, I have an attachment below which is a study guide or overview of the unit which you can use to support your response. Remember NO PLAGIARISM & I need will need a PLAGIARISM REPORT upon completion.
