Developments and advancements in technology have impacted marketing and promotional campaigns. The most successful organizations currently have fully embraced the use of technology in promoting their products and services amongst the targeted audience. Technology has the benefits of making the marketing campaigns more personalized, enabling them to address the specific needs and interests of the customers in the market. Technological advancements have created an enabling environment for marketers to yield big from their operations. Effective use of technology in marketing creates an effective interface between the customers and the various brands being promoted.

Some of the common technologies that are ideal for marketers include using Asynchronous text like emails, Synchronous text like chats, and File transfer protocol (FTP) to exchange files online, telnet, audio-video, among others. Many marketers have embraced the use of social media platforms, the common ones being Facebook, Instagram, and you tube. The platforms have occurred due to technological advancements and present huge benefits to marketing practices, considering the small costs involved and reaching a large audience within the shortest time possible. Marketers must be well conversant with the cost-benefit analysis when determining the marketing and promotional methods to use. The chosen methods should be cost-effective when compared to the benefits to be realized. Such practice is critical because it makes it possible to maximize the profits of the concerned firms, which is the ultimate goal of any profit-making organization. Marketers directly impact the financial growth and sustainability of the firms they serve. Therefore, they must be careful with their decisions and actions to enhance the sales and profitability levels (Villanova et al., 2021).

Marketers experience various problems, affecting their marketing decisions and the company’s marketing goals and objectives. When formulating marketing questions, it is ideal that the marketers consider researching the pressurizing issues within the companies they serve. One of the most significant problems is understanding how customers make purchase decisions. Such knowledge is ideal in enabling the marketers to offer the most satisfying products and services, which comprehensively address the customers’ varying needs, tastes, and preferences.  A feasible research question, in this case, would be; What factors guide customers’ purchasing decisions?

Research Questions

  • Do you prefer low or highly-priced products?
  • Does the quality of a product or service affect your purchase intentions?
  • Do you like purchasing products from retail stores or online?
  • Do marketing and promotional campaigns affect your purchase decisions? (Bin et al., 2018).

External information relating to this issue mainly considers the customers and factors influencing their purchasing decisions, such as economy, income levels, peer pressure, and psychological factors. Such factors are beyond the firm’s control, and therefore, they may adversely affect the firm’s marketing and promotional campaigns. Internal factors are those within the company and determine its ability to address the varying needs of the customers satisfactorily. Some of these factors include; creativeness, innovation, skilled workers, operational efficiency, cost control, etc. The internal factors define the quality and pricing of the final products and services. Communication in marketing is essential. The marketing teams must consider adopting the most appropriate communication channels and strategies, which can reach the targeted audience at the right time while maintaining message accuracy (Hentschke et al., 2021).

The most critical skills to my industry and career path are creativity, decision-making, communication, persuasion, and cultural competency. Aspects of the course that I would like to study further include; carrying out research, converting challenges to opportunities, understanding marketing problems, etc.

One of the key things I enjoyed researching and that can be extremely important in my career path is the importance of extensions to a given brand. Through research, it has become apparent that no matter how successful your brand is it’s possible to make bad extension decisions that result in failure. Whether it’s Amazon and its failing video games division, or as Vianna mentioned Colgate’s frozen entrees. Company’s like Apple have shown that extensions can shape and even grow a company through its iPhone, iPod and, iPad products. Apple’s method required them to make attempts at new products away from the usual PCs but also remained safe and familiar with them being tech-related. This was easily my favorite aspect to study and I hope to have more interactions with brand extensions in the future as it provides a sense of imagination and freedom in considering what could potentially be.

Environmental History

Each of these essay questions are similar in structure, but entirely different in terms of interpretation and analysis. Your answers must be supported as widely by evidence from across our semester as possible—start to finish—from the Light of the Stars and the Kelp Highway to the Gas Crisis and Climate Change. The length of your essay should not exceed five pages, double spaced, and most will be between three and four pages long.  No footnotes or bibliography are needed. We all read the same material and all I require is that you identify either the author or the chapter you are using so that I can refer to it if needed.Absolutely NO sharing of information with one another is allowed. I will be able to spot similar answers in a heartbeat. . All of these questions below are a final exam question.

 1.    One fallacy of Environmental thinking is that the available resources of a region ultimately determines how the humans there live, work, think and survive. This is called Environmental Determinism.  Using at least three separate examples across time periods, show how the resources of a particular place may have influenced the way in which human beings behaved, but did not entirely determine that behavior.

2.    Cultural biases are not part of human nature (we are not born with an innate taste for caviar), but cultural values inescapably shape our thinking about the world and ourselves. Consider how people in different parts of the United States, used the non-human world in their diets, in their homes and communities, for work and recreation—even codifying those uses into law. Using at least three separate examples from our readings, demonstrate how people, within their cultural bubbles, have constrained themselves and one other in their relationship to the non-human world.

3.    Value is a tricky concept. How do we place values on the world around us? Is it simply market price? Board feet? Product volume? Or are there other values that people have placed on the many different elements of the world we rely on? And who determined those values? What supported that comparative price or commodification?  Find at least three examples of value (or economy if you like) that have influenced the trade, sale, transportation, investment cost or prestige of a resource. What was the ultimate result?

Assignment 2 – Business Management Liability Scenario

Widget’s, Inc., a fictional company, has a flourishing lawncare business. The business has two full-time employees who have been with the company for five years. All employees are trained on using the lawn equipment and have signed a waiver-of-liability contract limiting liability for the company. The owner, Brian, told his employees not to worry—that the company would protect them if they got hurt.

One employee, Lori, was on the job cutting a lawn. Lori was riding a mower, a Ferrari 2000, which was three years old and in good working condition. The step-up on the mower had writing on it with a warning sticker that read, “Replace the sandpaper liner for traction every three years due to normal wear and tear.”  It was replaced every three years. Lori stepped down off the rider, slipped because of moisture from the grass, and severed her pinky toe on the mower blade.

When she fell to the ground, the mower continued through the grass and proceeded by itself to cut and mulch a neighbor’s prize roses. Peta, the neighbor, was preparing for a rose competition with a potential grand prize of $10,000.

Write a 2-3 page paper answering the questions below. Remember to identify and explain the law and then justify your answers to the questions pursuant to the scenario:

  1. Pursuant to contract law, is the waiver of liability legal and do Brian’s verbal assurances become part of the contract? Why or why not?
  2. Does Peta have a product liability case against the mower manufacturer Ferrari for a design defect, manufacturing defect, or failure-to-warn defect?
  3. Does Lori have a claim for her injuries and can she recover pain and suffering damages or worker’s compensation?

Theory, Professionalism, and  Empowerment

Knowledge and theory are among the most critical aspects of nursing. The theory defines the general nursing knowledge, scope of practice and guides the actions of the nurses. The application of nursing theories helps nurses in the following ways.

It helps guide the framework of thinking and action, communication with patients, colleagues, and other stakeholders. The theory also allows nurses to understand their roles and develop knowledge through research and applying the evidence. Theories provide a scientific reason to act in a particular manner during service delivery. Nursing theories include patient management, addressing dilemmas, and improvement of professionalism (Indra, 2018).

At personal levels, the nursing theory would be critical to me in the following ways. It helps me in the provision of care by guiding my actions. Also, nursing theories are essential for furthering research (Gaines, 2020). For instance, I can use nursing theory on mental health to conduct further research to inform practice. Theories are essential in the application of evidence. Evidence-based practices require some to use mid-range theories to bridge grand theories and the practice (Smith, 2020). My answer has expanded over the weeks to include a broader scope of nursing. Nursing theories are many, but each has a particular aspect it addresses.

Some of the essential mid-range theories are the quality of nursing practice theory and the theory of guided practice. A practical nurse needs to apply skills and knowledge during service delivery. As a result, the nurse needs to be effective, efficient, ethical, and considerate to ensure that the quality of care is high (Saleh, 2018).

Nurses should also ensure that the services offered are ethical and in line with nursing principles, such as beneficence, non-maleficence, autonomy, and justice. Nurses should strive to improve the quality of services.

CJUS 810-Powerpoint -North America

The following is an outline of the minimum points to be covered in your PowerPoint – Country/Area Topics:

These are minimum guidelines – you may expand the topics covered in your PowerPoint – keep the quality at a doctoral level.

PowerPoint Presentation One: North America – Module/Week 2.

1)  Begin your paper with a brief analysis of the following elements:

a.  Country analysis

 i.  Introduction to the country

ii.  People and society of the country

iii.  What is the basic government structure

2)  Analyze the nature of organized crime in the assigned area (you may narrow the scope of your analysis through your introduction if needed)

3)  Analyze the impact of organized crime in the assigned area on the government

4)  Briefly propose policies that may be helpful in mitigating organized crime in the assigned area

5)  A Holy Bible comparison/analysis of the nature of the organized crime system, the impact on the country, or your proposed policy to mitigate the system

Prepare a 10-17 slide PowerPoint presentation.  Title slide(s) and reference slide(s) do not count toward the slide count. The vast slide count difference is due to the fact that organized crime in some countries are quite easy to study and organized crime in some countries have very limited information.  In some instances there will be a plethora of information and you must use skilled writing to maintain proper slide count. Please keep in mind that this is a doctoral level presentation. Your research must go beyond the mere textbook and have a minimum of 8 scholarly sources.  The Holy Bible should be used at least once in the PowerPoint presentation.  Each slide (of the 10 slides) must have 200 to 350 words of bulleted or paragraph speakers notes (in speaker notes section of the slide build). The slides should be professional and not cluttered with too many words.  The sources should be reflected in the speaker notes, slides, and “reference section slide.” Additionally, you, the student, should use animations, transitions, and graphics to reflect PhD level research.  Please review the grading rubric when forming your presentation. Sources should reflect scholarly work but may include .gov information is there is an author or if the information comes from a valid government research database (think CIA, State Department, United Nations, etc.).

PowerPoint Presentation One: North America – Module/Week 2.

A FOUNDATION OF ETHICS

Reading #6 from Ruggiero’s, Thinking Critically about Ethical Issues. At minimum the below chapter from this book is to be read. With all readings in this course, you are encouraged to read actively and discerningly/critically at all times.

  • A Foundation for Judgment – Ch. 6 (Pages 66-78)

1. Drones are not only used in foreign combat zones. They are also being used domestically by law enforcement agencies, for example, in the surveillance of criminals under a legally obtained warrant. But the possibility exists of monitoring areas in which there is no suspicion of crime but where the government wishes to obtain information. (Forest fires is a noncontroversial use, as is use on the border to monitor the movement of illegal drugs.) Drones can be equipped with either lethal or nonlethal weapons such as rubber bullets and tear gas. Technological advances have created miniature drones that can be carried in a backpack, zoom lenses, see-through imaging, and night vision capabilities. Then decide whether you support the domestic use of drones and explain your position.

2. There are more than four hundred pet cemeteries in the United States. People often spend hundreds of dollars to bury their dogs, cats, birds, goldfish, and hamsters. Is this practice morally acceptable?

due tomorrow…… read 2 articles….. answer 3 questions

this is due tomorrow…..  no late work please……..

read the 2 attachments

After reading the articles, answer the following questions in complete sentences. You must write a minimum of 5-6 sentences for each question. Responses must be written meaningfully in your own words:

1. According to Odem-Young’s (2019) article, what are the long-term ramifications of food insecurity on society as a whole? And how does structural racism play a role in perpetuating the disparities in food security among people of color and their more privileged counterparts?

2. Roncarolo and Potvin (2016) write their article from a medical perspective in their discussion about food insecurity as a symptom of a bigger societal issue. They propose that food banks are a short-term solution that fails to directly address the root causes of food insecurity. Explain the idea that food insecurity is a symptom of a “social disease”. What social disease are the authors referring to?  What solutions do the authors propose that may lead to long-lasting change to help food insecure individuals be more self-sustaining and self-sufficient?

 3. Lastly, list six (6) reasons why access to healthy food supports learning, growth and development in the young child. You may pull this information from your course text.

Assignment 1: Addressing Biased Behavior about Culture, Language, and Economic Class

As you have learned in the previous weeks of this course, creating an anti-bias learning community involves promoting positive interactions and relationships with children and families, establishing an environment that honors all individuals, and implementing curriculum that addresses diversity issues.

For this Application Assignment, you will analyze specific ways in which to respond to and intervene with young children when they exhibit prejudice, misconceptions, fear, and/or rejection of differences with respect to culture, language, and economic class. You will develop an action plan that sets up opportunities for children to learn to understand, respect, and embrace differences and act/interact in unbiased and fair ways. Your action plan will focus on the four aspects of creating an anti-bias learning community:

  • Positive interactions with children
  • Positive relationships with and among families
  • The visual and material environment
  • Curriculum planning

To begin, print and review the “Creating an Anti-Bias Learning Community: Diversity of Culture, Language, and Economic Class” form. As you work on this assignment and plan activities and experiences to help children expand their understanding of diversity, build respect for others, and overcome negative and biased feelings, you will complete this form and ultimately submit it as your application.

Now, read the statements below that could reflect the voices of young children. Select one of the statements to be the focus of your analysis.

  • “Gabriel is stupid. He doesn’t even speak our language. Why doesn’t he learn English?” (Boy, 6)
  • “Go away! My mom says you’re a lazy Mexican! I’m not playing with you.” (Boy, 5)
  • “You can’t play with us – your clothes are old and ugly.” (Girl, 4)
  • “No, you can’t be the princess because your Daddy doesn’t have a car. You can be the maid.” (Girl 5)

With your selection in mind, begin to consider activities, discussions, and other techniques you might put into place to respond to the biases expressed in the statement.

Using the “Creating an Anti-Bias Learning Community: Diversity of Culture, Language, and Economic Class” form; record the child’s statement you selected in the upper right-hand box. Then, for each of the four anti-bias learning community elements listed on the left-side of the form, come up with at least two action items that will address the misconceptions and biases revealed in the child’s statement to help all of children with whom you work develop respect for diversity. It may be helpful to review Chapter 4 of the course text, as well as this week’s Learning Resources, to guide you through this process.

Note: For each action item you specify, provide a detailed description. Do not feel restricted by the space provided on the form. Your completed assignment will likely extend beyond the original one page document.

SOCW 6311 Week 1 Discussion Post – Discussion: Characteristics, Challenges, and Opportunities of Evidence-Based Design

Discussion: Characteristics, Challenges, and Opportunities of Evidence-Based Design

Consider the following quotation: “Often times, potential users of research knowledge are unconnected to those who do the research, and consequently a huge gap ensues between research knowledge and practice behaviors” (Barwick, M., Boudell, K., Stasiulis, E., Ferguson, H., Blase, K., & Fixsen, D., 2005). Social workers must work to close the gap perceived by the authors of this quote.

In your previous research course, you addressed the concept of evidence-based practice. However, it is important not to fall into a habit of using the term “evidence-based practice” without a clear understanding of its meaning. In particular, it is important to understand what standards of evidence must exist to classify an intervention or a program as evidence based. In this assignment, you are to clarify your understanding of the nature of evidence-based practice and analyze the challenges and opportunities for implementing evidence-based practice in your current social work practice.

To prepare for this Discussion, read the Learning Resources that provide information about different aspects of the evidence-based practice concept. As you read, consider how evidence-based practice or evidence- based programs might be used in a social work agency where you work or where you had a practicum experience.

Provide a 300-word Discussion Post containing the following Headings, Content, and Details:

– A description of the distinguishing characteristics of evidenced-based practice.

– Then provide an evaluation of factors that might support or impede your efforts in adopting evidence-based practice or evidence-based programs.

Must contain 3 references and citations form the following materials only.
