Every company gathers information on customer preferences and buying history in order to improve their long-term customer relationships. Maintaining a customer database requires protecting the confidentiality of the information.

Consider the following scenario:

Sara is the marketing manager of a small human resource (HR) consultancy firm. She wants to address improving customer relations and understanding and managing consumer behavior.

She would like to implement a process of using a database to assist her company in its marketing efforts. She is also concerned about online privacy versus off-line privacy.

Now, respond to the following:

  • How would you address Sara’s concern about the level of privacy in an online versus off-line database?
  • What are ways in which she might be able to use the database for better understanding consumer behavior and building customer relationships? Provide at least five such ways.

By the due date assigned, post your response to the Discussion Area. Through the end of the module, review and comment on at least two peers’ responses.

Write your initial response in 300–500 words. Your response should be thorough and address all components of the discussion question in detail, include citations of all sources, where needed, according to the APA Style, and demonstrate accurate spelling, grammar, and punctuation

Week 2 Technology Discussion

Please provide constructive responses to these two discussion posts (3-4 sentences minimum)

1. One  of the advance features I have learned using Microsoft word is the  insert feature. Being able to place all sorts of symbols, pictures,  graphs to a word document helps make it stand out more. For example, if I  were to write a document that talks about graphs and data, I can insert  a chart to properly displays the numbers I want to present over just  regular text. To do so, you must click on the Insert ribbon right next  to Home, under the Illustrations tab, you will see the Chart option.  Another window will open showing you the many different types of charts  and graphs that you can use to present your data. After selecting the  chart you want to use, the image will be inserted into the document  along with another window that reads Chart in Microsoft Windows. It is a  spreadsheet that you can use to enter the data you would like your  chart to display.

2.  An advanced feature that I learned in Microsoft Word was to insert a  picture. This may not be advanced to others but was a feature I had to  play with to insert correctly. To perform this task you would open  Microsoft word and open a blank document. Once the document is opened  use the tab on top that states insert, once you tap insert you have  options to use picture on device or online pictures. I chose online  pictures which provides more options. To use the online search you can  type whatever your looking for in search engine. Once you select the  picture you want to use on your document click picture and below will  provide option to insert. After tapping insert picture will drop onto  document. The picture on document will then need to be positioned by  clicking on picture and dropping on document where desired. Once picture  is positioned use arrow keys to adjust size of picture as desired. I  find this a great feature and think an added illustration always  enhances a document of any kind.

APA, less than 10 % similarity

Posttraumatic stress disorder refers to a mental health condition that affects individuals of all ages, including children. Symptoms of PTSD may occur immediately after a traumatic event or after six months. The DSM-IV-TR Criteria is one of the diagnostic indicators set up by the American Psychiatric Association to diagnose PTSD.

• One of the indicators for PTSD is experiencing, witnessing, or being confronted or experiencing life-threatening events, serious injury, or threats to physical injury. The response is intense fear, horror, or helplessness. Among children, PTSD may be manifested through disorganization and agitated behavior (Tull, 2019).

• The second indicator is re-experiencing the traumatic event through intrusive and distressing recollection. Among children, this may be experienced through the repetitive play of the traumatic event or frightening dreams.

• Avoidance stimuli characterized by avoiding thoughts, feelings, places or people that could arise trauma recollections, children may manifest through detachment.

• Increased arousal characterized by difficulties in concentrating, irritability, exaggerated startle response and hypervigilance may also indicate Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Among children, it may be manifested through problems in concentrating.

• When the disturbance resulting from criteria BCD exceeds one month, then this becomes a sign of PTSD (SAMHSA, 2016).

I have known a close relative who has experienced PTSD, having served in the military and underwent a deployment. He has difficulty sleeping; he prefers being alone since he says he feels irritable most of the time and is also hyper-vigilant. Similarly, he avoids meeting colleagues that he was deployed with, arguing that they reminded him of the war experiences. Moreover, he avoids talking about his experiences during deployment.

Literature Evaluation Table. by12/6

In nursing practice, accurate identification and application of research is essential to achieving successful outcomes. The ability to articulate research data and summarize relevant content supports the student’s ability to further develop and synthesize the assignments that constitute the components of the capstone project.

The assignment will be used to develop a written implementation plan.

For this assignment, provide a synopsis of the review of the research literature. Using the “Literature Evaluation Table,” determine the level and strength of the evidence for each of the eight research articles you have selected. The articles should be current (within the last 5 years) and closely relate to the PICOT question developed earlier in this course. The articles may include quantitative research, descriptive analyses, longitudinal studies, or meta-analysis articles. A systematic review may be used to provide background information for the purpose or problem identified in the proposed capstone project.

While APA style is not required for the body of this assignment, solid academic writing is expected, and in-text citations and references should be presented using APA documentation guidelines, which can be found in the APA Style Guide, located in the Student Success Center.

This assignment uses a rubric. Please review the rubric prior to beginning the assignment to become familiar with the expectations for successful completion.

You are not required to submit this assignment to LopesWrite.

ENGLISH PRESENTATION

  • Review from the lesson and textbook readings the types of logical fallacies and examples.
  • Locate three advertisements online that were posted no later than one year ago. The advertisements may be any of the following types, and they do not need to all be the same type:
    • Advertisements for products, such as for a beauty product or an automobile
    • Political campaign ads
    • Advertisements that pop up on your social media threads, like on Facebook or Instagram
  • Keep in mind that this assignment requires you to identify logical fallacies, so choose your three advertisements carefully, looking for those in which you do see clear and identifiable logical fallacies at work. Search until you have three advertisements that will work well for this assignment on logical fallacies.
  • Create a PowerPoint presentation consisting of 11 slides:
    • An introduction slide with your name, the class, and the title of your presentation- don’t be afraid to get creative with your title!
    • On one slide, show and cite the advertisement.
    • On another slide, name the fallacy that occurs and define the fallacy. For example, if you see an Ad Hominem fallacy, you will note that there is an Ad Hominem Fallacy and offer a definition of “Ad Hominem” using your own wording. Do not simply copy the definition from the lesson or textbook.
    • On the next slide, explain how and why a specific portion of the ad represents this specific fallacy. Be thorough and clear.
    • Repeat the above process with your other two advertisements. You should have three slides for each advertisement, for a total of nine body slides
    • A References slide in which you provide full APA-correct references for your three advertisements. You should not have additional references because everything else in your presentation should simply represent your learning in this module.

Note: Include everything on your slides visually. If you’d like to use voice-over, that’s fine; just note that you will be graded on what is visually on the slides only. You may be as visually creative as you would like!

Writing Requirements

  • Length: 11 full PowerPoint slides
  • Text that is large enough for an audience to read
  • Full and proper APA in-text citation and Referencing for the information used from the three advertisements
  • No sources other than the three advertisements

Grading
This activity will be graded using the Logical Fallacies Presentation Rubric.

Business Law #14

The case study should be at least four pages in length   and include at least two outside sources, one of which must come from the CSU   Online Library. Be sure to use APA formatting for all citations and   references. Please note that no abstract is needed.

Ted Brown and Jim Green have been discussing going into   business together for several months, and they are anxious to start that   business before the end of this month. However, both Ted Brown and Jim Green   each have to be out of town for several weeks on other business, so Ted Brown   has told his son, Theodore, who is 16, about the discussions with Jim Green   and has appointed Theodore to complete negotiation of the final details of   the business. Jim Green has told his son James, who is 18 years old, about   the discussions with Ted Brown and appointed James to complete the   negotiations.

The business that Ted Brown and Jim Green want to create   will develop an app for cell phones that will identify family-oriented   attractions along major highways so families can download the app to help in   planning family vacations. The development of the app will take 4 months, and   then it will take approximately another 4 months to fully deploy the app. As   the app becomes popular, the business will solicit family-oriented businesses   to advertise on the app. Ted Brown and Jim Green have very little capital to   use in the development and deployment of the app and will probably need to   raise the capital necessary to develop and deploy a quality app.

In your case study, address the questions below.

  • Can Theodore Brown and James Green legally create the        business that Ted Brown and Jim Green have been discussing? Why, or why        not?
  • If Theodore and James do create the business, what        duties do they each owe their father? Describe what those duties mean in        this case.
  • What factors do Ted Brown and Jim Green (or their sons        on their behalf) need to consider in selecting a form for this business?
  • What form of business will provide the most advantage        for their venture?
  • What are the disadvantages of the form of business        that they selected?

Ideation – Phase 1

Grade:N/AView Grade Information. Opens a dialogue

The first phase of the ideation process is to generate a minimum of 100 potential business ideas. You are not concerned with quality at this point in time, you want to generate as many ideas as possible. The following areas should be the focus of your efforts:

1. Pain points – things that cause you pain or problems that you have that could be solved by a new business/product/service. Pain points can come from personal experience, friends or family, from society or businesses.

2. Passion or interest areas – ideas that stem from things you love doing, are highly interested in or have hobbies in this area. How could you leverage this to create new and/or unique businesses?

3. Reinvention and Recycling – many business ideas result from reinventing something that already exists. It could be a gym bag (Ogio), a shopping cart (IDEO) or a hardware store (Home Depot).  Similarly, business ideas can come from “recycling” which is focused on taking something from a different country, culture, region, etc. and tweaking it to your own to adopt it to a new audience (e.g. Starbucks).

4. Observation – many business ideas come from observing our surroundings and giving us insight into potential opportunities that could solve problems, address needs or tap into strong wants or desires of consumers or businesses.

5. Other people’s ideas – much of the technology we take for granted was generated in laboratories and universities.  A great deal of unique innovation is generated in these settings but never sees the light of day. You can identify interesting technologies that could potentially be commercialized.
