Document Analysis Paper

Choose a construct or process, such as motivation, empowerment, isolation, goal-setting, problem-solving, and so forth, using your Wk 5 TV observation and your interview data set from Wk 6 as possible sources of context.

Find an archive of transactional documents that contain evidence of your chosen construct. Transactional documents may include minutes of meetings, conference programs, a collection of organizational mission statements, the evolution of a product, and so forth, but not scholarly articles.

Conduct an analysis of the documents of which you have chosen to obtain a deeper understanding, as well as the meaning of the construct that evolves from the documents.

Write a 1,750- to 2,100-word paper documenting your analysis that includes:

A description of the construct

A description of the document set you used

A description of the sampling method you used to choose a few documents to review

A description of the data analysis approach you used

The steps in your data analysis

The results of your analysis

Include responses to the following reflection questions:

What documents could you have used instead of or in addition to the ones you used?

How might the sampling method you used influence the results?

How did this experience compare to your analyses of observation data and interview data?

What have you learned about the stance of a case study researcher?

Format your paper according to APA guidelines.

Mathematical Statistics and Probability

Exercise 1

A consulting group believes that 70% of the people in a certain county are satisfied with their health coverage. Assuming that this is true, find the probability that in a random sample of 15 people from the county: (a) Exactly 10 are satisfied with their health coverage, and interpret. (b) Not more than 10 are satisfied with their health coverage, and interpret. (c) What is the expected number of people out of 15 that are satisfied with their health coverage?

Exercise 2

company that manufactures cars claims that the gas mileage for its new line of hybrid cars, on the average, is 60 miles per gallon with a standard deviation of 4 miles per gallon. A random sample of 16 cars yielded a mean of 57 miles per gallon. If the company’s claim is correct, what is the probability that the sample mean is less than or equal to 57 miles per gallon? Comment on the company’s claim about the mean gas mileage per gallon of its cars. What assumptions did you make?

Exercise 3

A random sample of size 50 from a particular brand of 16-ounce tea packets produced a mean weight of 15.65 ounces. Assume that the weights of these brands of tea packets are normally distributed with standard deviation of 0.59 ounce. Find a 95% confidence interval for the true mean μ.

Exercise 4

It is claimed that two of three Americans say that the chances of world peace are seriously threatened by the nuclear capabilities of other countries. If in a random sample of 400 Americans, it is found that only 252 hold this view, do you think the claim is correct? Use α = 0.05. State any assumptions you make in solving this problem.

american federal government

The fundamental values that inform how are democratic government is legitimated and organized are enshrined on the Declaration of Independence and in the Constitution of the United States.

  1. Identify and discuss the basic ideals and principles of American democracy and how they are applied in our republican form of government.

Those ideals and principles are discussed in the first and second chapters of your textbook. You can also visit the following websites to read the original document in which these fundamental values were first stated and how they were later incorporated in the American Constitution:

  1. Identify the most important Supreme Court cases and executive actions and their impact on law and on our society.

The history of the United States has been marked by the progressive expansion of voting rights and the protection of its citizens through legislation and Supreme Court decisions. At the same time, executive orders, particularly in periods of crisis led to the violation of individual rights. Throughout this module these issues are covered. In chapters 3 and 4 you will find the information you need to answer this question. You are also encouraged to visit the following websites for further details.

Week7

After passing your certification exam, the next step is to obtain your Nurse Practitioner (RN/NP) license. Then you should apply for prescriptive authority in the state in which you plan to practice. In some states, this requires a collaborating/supervising physician and in some states there are restrictions for NP prescribing. Once you obtain a state prescriptive license, you will need to apply for a federal drug enforcement administration (DEA) certificate, in order to prescribe narcotics. Use the following resources to complete this week’s IPPD assignment.

Using the document you started in Week 1 and added to in Week 5, please add the following information to the Week 6 area. Using the Prescriptive Authority websites, select the state (s) you plan to practice in and become familiar with each state’s regulations related to NP prescriptive authority. In some states prescriptive authority is explained in the BON and the Department of Public Health (DPH), so you may need to search the DPH website as well. In addition, you can access some of this information in your Buppert text in Appendix 3B. You will also need to become familiar with the Federal DEA regulations for your state in order to be licensed to prescribe narcotics.

  • What are the prescriptive authority requirements for the state in which you intend to practice? Is there a MD collaborative or supervisory regulation related to non-controlled substances or controlled substances. Are there any restrictions for NP prescriptive practice? Does the state utilize a system-wide drug monitoring program to assist with prevention of overprescribing?
  • Include the State prescriptive authority regulations hyperlink.
  • Does the state allow DEA licensure? What are the requirements to obtain a DEA certificate? Are there any MD collaborative/supervisory regulations related to narcotic prescribing? Are there any restrictions to prescribing narcotics? Opioid restrictions? Narcan authority?
  • Include the Federal DEA hyperlink.

Assignment: Culturally Competent Communication

There are many news items published every day that relate to infectious disease, including updates on infectious disease incidence and prevalence, newly emerging or resurging disease outbreaks, scientific breakthroughs, and research study findings. When communicating information about infectious disease, it is important to consider culture and the appropriate strategies for engaging and communicating with diverse populations.

In this Assignment, you will a find a current news item on an infectious disease topic and prepare a paper describing the importance of cultural competence in communicating public health information about the risks associated with the infectious agent in the selected news item, and a strategy to communicate the risk of the infectious agent to a specific cultural group.

By Day 7 of Week 9

Submit your Assignment that includes the following:

Find a news item published in the last 30 days that interests you and that relates to the public health burden of infectious disease. Research the pathophysiology and epidemiology of the infectious disease and a population that may be disproportionally impacted by this disease. Prepare a 4 to 5 page paper that includes the following:

An APA style title page, including your name, date, course and section, and title

APA style headings for each section below

Describe the cause of the infectious disease that is in the news item you chose (identify the organism, route of infection, host or environment, person to person transmission, vectors, etc)

Describe the health risk from this infectious disease (morbidity, mortality, outcomes) and how it may be prevented

Describe the overall importance of cultural competence in communicating public health content. Support your answer

Choose a specific cultural group that may be disproportionally impacted by this disease and explain what you believe is the most effective way to communicate risk and prevention information related to the organism and provide examples

Describe how you would assure that your selected communication strategy is demonstrating appropriate cultural competence for this population

Cite the sources within your text in APA style

Include an APA formatted reference list at the end of your paper.

Note: The title page and References page do not count towards the paper’s page requirement.

Your Instructor uses the Module 5 Assignment Rubric to grade this Assignment.

Discussion 2: Decision Making

Would you flip a coin for the chance of winning two dollars? What if you were given a dollar and offered the chance to flip a coin to either gain a second dollar or lose the first? Which wager seems more appealing—the first or the second?

Far more people choose the first wager than the second. Both scenarios have exactly the same probability of outcomes: a 50% chance of ending up with nothing, and a 50% chance of ending up with two dollars. Why might the first wager appeal to people? Do we always make the best possible decision?

Impediments are factors that can hinder decision making. While they often vary by situation, common impediments exist that might influence decision making in general.

In this Discussion, you explain a difficult decision you have made. You also describe impediments that you faced when making this decision, as well as common decision-making impediments.

With these thoughts in mind:

By Day 4

Post a brief description of a recent difficult decision you made between two or more alternatives. Then explain the nature of two impediments that you faced in making the decision. Finally, describe two common impediments to optimal decision making.

AWS Evaluation Report & Retail Case Study Summary

Part 1:

The leadership of Global Technology Retailers (GTR) is considering AWS for their enterprise cloud solution, but some members of the leadership team are skeptical of this solution. They have asked you, as an IT architect and IT manager, to provide them with a report describing the advantages and disadvantages of AWS. Create an AWS Evaluation report; use any of the material from this course, individual research, as well as the AWS website. Based on what you learned in the course and any personal experience with the solution, provide the following in your report: • An explanation of the reasons for switching to cloud architecture from on-premises, in general • A description of the purpose of AWSA description of at least two advantages of using AWS* • A description of at least two disadvantages of AWS* • A chart with AWS’s primary competitors and a brief description of strengths and cautions. (Tip: pick two or three competitors and focus on general strengths and cautions relevant to GTR.) • Anything else you feel your leadership team would need to know *The advantages and disadvantages should be relevant to rapidly growing GTR and its retail operations in 10 states and five countries. For example, one consideration could be if AWS does not operate in a country where GTR does business, is there an impact? Format your citations per APA guidelines and give attribution where appropriate.

Part 2:

Global Technology Retailers (GTR) is pleased with the report you submitted, which addressed many of the concerns with AWS. They are getting closer to moving forward with the decision to adopt AWS for their cloud computing. However, they are interested in finding out how other large retailers have used AWS to solve challenges. As the IT architect and IT manager, prepare a summary of at least three or four case studies with citations to help them see how other retailers were able to use the cloud technology. Refer to the AWS Customer Success web page, where you can read case studies. You can search case studies by Company Type or by Solution to find studies for this assignment. Write a 2- to 3-page summary of three or four case studies. Include the issue or challenge the retailer wished to solve, how they used the technology, and the outcome. Close by sharing any common challenges among the retailers and how the solutions may relate to GTR. Format your citations of the study and any other sources per APA guidelines and provide attribution, where appropriate

Assignment 2: Position Paper Two – Media and Society
Due Week 10 and worth 250 points

This is the second of two (2) position papers based on the following scenario to be completed in this course.
Imagine that you are running for a state office (e.g., governor, senator, or representative) and you have to prepare a position paper for a debate on controversial issues in the news. (Select one (1) of the topics addressed in Weeks 5-9 of this class.) You will want your position paper to demonstrate critical thinking, sound logic, valid claims, personal passion, and credible support that is cited correctly because the paper will be provided to the news media before the debate and will be scrutinized by the media and reported on regarding these criteria. Your professor will serve as your close advisor whose job is to review the paper and provide feedback to you on the paper’s strengths and weaknesses.

Write a two to three (2-3) page (700 to 1,200 words) paper in which you:

  1. Introduce your position using a thesis statement in the first paragraph, including a quote, question, or statistic from your reliable sources and an overview of the main points you will cover. (It’s important to grab the audience’s interest and inform them of what the main and support points are.)
  2. Provide three or four (3-4) major points to support your thesis statement. (Put each major point in a separate paragraph.)
  3. Provide one (1) paragraph in which you identify and answer an expected argument against your view.
  4. Organized arguments and support for claims effectively.
  5. Demonstrate personal passion for your position and critical thinking with persuasive language, sound logic, valid claims, and credible support for the claims.
  6. Provide two to three (2-3) credible and reliable references (in addition to the text) about current events, which have been published in the last five (5) years and are cited correctly in the position paper. (Wikipedia is not an acceptable source.)
  7. PICK FROM:
