Urgent 2

2D homework (10%) Scenario The college student radio station is looking for new collaborators. A friend of yours hosts a current affairs program there on Tuesday noon in front of the public. She knows that you enjoy new challenges and that you are currently working to hone your communication skills. So she asks you to collaborate on her show. Each month you will be expected to introduce a hot topic in a short five-minute speech. The task requires rigor and professionalism. Your intervention, which could be compared to an oral presentation, must remain informative. Thus, you will need to make sure you present your topic succinctly and clearly. Five minutes to deal effectively with a hot topic is very short! The show crew has been very clear with you that your intervention should briefly and objectively present a topical issue resulting from rigorous research. With the show crew, you discuss topics that you might cover in your first talk. At the end of the meeting, your mandate is unequivocal: you must prepare a short oral presentation on one of the following three topics: §Technology in the service of competitive sports§The increase in prescription drugs in Western societies§ Science at the service of forensic investigations You are now in the exploratory phase. You leaf through the newspapers, surf the Net. You are on the lookout. What topic could interest the audience more? All of the topics are interesting, but can they be presented effectively in a five-minute radio talk? Do you have sufficiently rich documentation to prepare your intervention? How do you make sure that the chosen topic interests the students present in the agora? Collaborating on a radio show is no easy task! Before you find yourself in front of a microphone, you notice that preparing a communication is a very important step and you decide to submit to it resolutely in order to get off on the right foot. Task to be carried out In order to subsequently present an informative oral presentation of 5 minutes (± 30 seconds), you must first describe the communication situation, carry out preliminary research on the proposed subjects and define the subject of the communication; then you need to research information on your topic, set a communication goal and justify it. Step 1: Description of the communication situation A. Describe the communication situation by completing the Jakobson diagram. Referent Sender Message To be determined in assignment 3 Receiver Channel Code Step 2: Exploration of the subjects proposed by a preliminary research B. Three topics related to your study program have been submitted to you. To arrive at the choice of a subject: 1. Do a preliminary research on each of them in Eureka, in Benchmark or on the Internet. 2. On each topic, select two articles from credible and verifiable sources. 3. Read articles selectively. 4. Concisely write down the ideas announced in their introduction. 5. Note the complete reference of each article by following the model proposed in the Learning Book. TopicSelected articlesTechnology in the service of competitive sports Complete reference: Ideas advertised: Complete reference: Ideas advertised: The rise in drug prescriptions in Western societies Complete reference: Ideas advertised: Complete reference: Ideas advertised: Science in the service of forensic investigations Complete: Ideas advertised: Complete reference: Ideas advertised: Step 3: Definition of communication subject C. Assessment, Multicultural Considerations, and the Spirit of Motivational Interviewing

During an initial meeting with a service user, an advanced human services professional practitioner often conducts an assessment to determine the service user’s presenting problem or presenting needs. Conducting an assessment while also maintaining the spirit of motivational interviewing requires a delicate balance. Asking too many closed-ended questions in rapid succession may cause the service user to take on a passive role and the practitioner to take on an expert role, which is contradictory to the spirit of motivational interviewing. However, failure to elicit enough information may limit the practitioner’s ability to accurately determine the service user’s presenting problem or service needs. Fortunately, skilled practitioners are able to effectively integrate traditional assessment techniques and motivational interviewing to elicit enough information from the service user while also forging a collaborative partnership with them. You can see an example of how this is done in Chapter 11 of the course text, which is part of the assigned readings for this week.

Note: When conducting an assessment or using motivational interviewing, it is also crucial to consider a person’s cultural background in your presentation of questions and in developing a rapport. You will apply an assessment and the spirit of motivational interviewing to the service user in the case study. You also will identify multicultural considerations you would make while working with the service user. You will use this case study multiple times throughout the course, each time applying a different motivational interviewing skill.

To Prepare

  • Review the Learning Resources on assessment, engaging service users, multicultural considerations, and the spirit of motivational interviewing.
  • Go to the Hart City virtual community using the link that is provided in the Learning Resources. Once you are in the community, review the case study you were assigned.
  • Consider which type of assessment you would use with the service user in the case study, and why.
  • Reflect on the multicultural considerations you would make when assessing the service user.
  • Think about how you would apply the spirit of motivational interviewing when meeting the service user for the first time to understand their presenting problem.

week 4 discussion response

Reading the following passage what are your thoughts? Please be sure to stay on topic and reach a 175 word count. Thanks in advance!

As leaders you will have to know how to effectively delegate as well as problem solve. You will learn the steps to each process this week. There aren’t many steps but each step is extremely important. My stance is you should be an effective problem solver way before you become a leader. Those who become great leaders were already great problem solvers. I sift out good potential leaders by looking at certain skills and problem solving is one. The staff that ask me less and figure it out themselves, if possible, are great problem solvers. Now delegation may be something you learn as a leader or close to being a leader if you have not had the opportunity to do so. Great leaders often have a lot on their plate, learning how to use your resources and delegating tasks that will help lessen the load, reduces stress and gives responsibility and ownership to others. Delegating tasks also helps to build your team as their will be staff that you see great potential in from things you have delegated to them. Those staff members you should give more opportunity and the more opportunity you give to them, the less on your plate. Have you had to use the delegation process, and or problem solving process?

OS Discussion Response -1

Read the post below and respond with 150 words.

Object-oriented programming is a model of programming that is often  used to create programs that are simple, efficient, and easy to  maintain. The way that object-oriented programming achieves this is by  breaking a complex problem down into smaller, simpler problems. It uses a  hierarchical inheritance approach–meaning that the sub classes (or  child classes)  of a class can access all methods from the parent  class.

A class is utilized as a type of blueprint for objects to be created,  and is basically a collection of similar objects. For example, a  “Computer” might be considered a class, while it’s objects might be 3  different computers: a Lenovo, a Dell, and an Acer. We can declare  variables in the class, and then define what attributes that the objects  in the class “Computer” will share, such as cost, color, and brand.   The “state” of an object is considered to be something that describes  an object, such as the three attributes we listed above.  The “behavior”  of an object is considered to be something that the object “does”, such  as a computer “running”.

Within the class, a main method as well as other methods are created  which utilize objects, statements, and commands to achieve a desired  result. There must be at least one main method in the program so that  the system knows where to begin executing the program. I have attached  an example of a small program that creates a class of “Computer1” which  declares two variables: cost and brand. I then create an object called  “myComputer” which utilizes those variables to show the cost and brand  of my computer, and to display the result along with a string as the  output.

Using a Normal Curve to Forecast the Dow Jones Industrial Average

M2D1: Using a Normal Curve to Forecast the Dow Jones Industrial Average OpenPosts are due on Monday, June 21 at 5:55 PMDiscussion due Monday, June 21 at 11:55 PM (Included in final grade)In this discussion, you will need to post your response before you are able to see a fellow classmate’s response. You are required to post 1 reply post. A normal distribution can be used to describe how sample characteristics or events relate to each other. The distribution can be “used to predict and adjust for a wide range of financial goals by optimizing financial decision-making by applying and graphically mapping financial data into a distribution set of variables” (“The use of normal distribution in finance”, 2011). Under the normal distribution curve (bell curve), data is distributed around the mean or expected value. A low standard deviation indicates that the data points tend to be close to the mean of the data set, while a high standard deviation indicates that the data points are spread out over a wider range of values. Thus, determining if certain financial events are normally distributed can be useful because those events may be more likely to follow probabilistic patterns in the future.Normal distributions can be used in finance to:

  • Determine probability of financial events
  • Compare financial events and/or products
  • Assist in risk assessment
  • Forecast return on investment (ROI)
  • Present data in an easy-to-understand format
  • Measure accuracy of statistical information through statistical analysis of the distribution

Financial economists often track monthly stock returns and look to determine if they are normally distributed. We are going to return to the Dow Jones Industrial Average. Using the information, you have learned about the normal curve and Z score, make probability statements about future returns of the Dow Jones Industrial Average, and defend your projections. Go to The Wall Street Journal website https://www.wsj.com/market-data/quotes/index/DJIA/historical-prices and use the historical tool to calculate the mean and standard deviation for the month of August 2020 for your projections.Steps to complete this assignment:1. Scroll to the date boxes and enter 01/01/2020 in the first box and 12/31/2020 in the second box2. Click the GO button3. On the right side of the page click the Download A Spreadsheet.4. An Excel spreadsheet with all the daily values will need to be opened.5. Please use the Close scores as the daily raw scores.6. Please calculate the mean in Excel. You need to watch the videos if you do not know how to use Excel. In Excel the mean is called the average.7. Please calculate the standard deviation in Excel. You need to watch the videos if you do not know how to use Excel. In Excel for ths assignment you are usind the standard deviation for a population. It is STDEV.P8. Create a new column to the right of the close scores and calculate the Z or standard score. Here is another video to assit you with this assignment. 9. Once you have all you Z scores you will need to create another column with the Area Under the Normal Distribution using the Z table. 10. Now conduct your analysis. Are there any days that are significantly different in the year? Did you create a graph of your data using a line graph, what does it look like? Can you make a prediction of how the DJIA is going to perform in August 2021? How can you test your prediction to see if it is correct? Can you make a prediction how the DJIA is performing today compared to August 2020?Your post should be no less than 200 words. Use research to support your predictions. We will discuss this in class.

serial killer’s case NEED PLAGERISM REPORT

For this assignment you will return to the case that you chose for the Week 3 written assignment.

Create a 4- to 5-page report in Microsoft Word that covers the investigation and the effects of the case on the community with regards to the following points:

Describe the investigation. How did the investigators proceed? Was there any interaction between the killer and the police? How did investigators finally catch the killer?

Did the police involve the community in their efforts to find the killer?

How would you evaluate the level of cooperation or communication between investigators and the community? Were the police able to warn potential victims?

What role, if any, did programs such as Violent Criminal Apprehension Program (ViCAP) or Combined DNA Index System (CODIS) play in the investigation? If your chosen case was from decades ago, are there investigative tools available today that could have helped?

What was the effect on the local community while this killer was active?

Considering the typology you proposed in the week 3 assignment, are there any adjustments to be made at this point, or was that typology the correct one?

Last, did this case have any impact on law, policing, the criminal justice system, etc.?
