Deliverable 3 – Strategic Management Analysis(3-4Pages)

Competency

Formulate strategies based on an external and environmental analysis.

Instructions

the organization(Amazon) you chose from have invested in different methods of analysis to gain and retain industry standing. The threats and opportunities that exist for an organization are identified through studying and appraising the external environment. In order to be competitive, an organization must look closely at these aspects to properly formulate a successful strategic plan.

Write a three- to four-page APA formatted paper with at least two outside sources (in addition to the text) incorporating the following aspects:

  • Organizations as Open Systems:
  • One key aspect is the “Environment as Information Perspectives.” Discuss what was determined to be the environmental uncertainty for your chosen organization.
  • Another important aspect is the “Environment as Source of Resource Perspective.” Discuss the way in which management has been able to attain and regulate these critical resources for your organization.
  • Provide a breakdown of these two perspectives to better see how they can be applied. If these perspectives are not readily available for your organization, you may infer them from information about the organization that is available.
  • External and Environmental Analysis:
  • Within the specific environment, multiple variables exist. Discuss which two of the five competitive forces were found to be most valuable and why.
  • The general environment also needs to be examined. There are five sectors that should be analyzed. After evaluating each, discuss which two you believe will most impact the strategic management plan for your chosen organization and why.

In addition to the aspects above, please share the advantages and disadvantages that exist when performing an external analysis. What did you find to be the most beneficial and detrimental factors during this analysis? Incorporate information from the readings, your research, and personal experience (using APA citations where appropriate).

Gerontology

It is often noted that as we age, we look to a “good death.”  Reflecting on your reading of Chapter 9 – what is a “good death?”  Describe your aging journey including direct and secondary losses and how they impact the dying process.  Is end-of-life care an appropriate personal selection and what is the impact of that choice on you and those you care for?  Tie all concepts together in your narrative being helped by Chapter 9 readings, your life experience, and your research (use 2 outside resources, including the personal communication with an older adult).

 350-400 words

need it within 6 hrs

Module 9 Overview:

As stated in the text, grief is a natural reaction to loss and loss is an inevitable part of being human.  Many older people must deal with the cumulative effect of losses created by lifelong inequities as a result of their age, race, social class, sexual orientation, gender, or ability.  In addition, ageist assumptions may mean that family members and health care providers presume that loss in old age is “not a big deal,” and devalue older adults’ grief. As individuals proceed with their aging journey, they are more likely to experience multiple layers of loss – some from positive life changes and others with negative impacts that the individual has no control over.  Loss and grief faced by older adults can involve the death of partners, family members and friends but the inevitable loss is approaching one’s own death and the dying process.  Understanding resources and choices available can have a definitive impact on this process.

Module 9 Objectives:  At the end of this module, the student will be able to:

1. Differentiate the types of losses that older adults may experience

1b. List common non-death related losses in old age

2. Enumerate how the death of loved ones affects the well-being of older adults

3. Identify different end-of-life care options

3b. Discuss palliative care, hospice, and the “right to die” legislation

Journal Critique

Journal Critique Assignment Instructions

For each Journal Critique, you will evaluate and critique a research article from a professional journal. The journal can be from any discipline that addresses a topic in urban education specific to the module assigned. All articles must be current (less than five years old). Your critique must include a title page, a reference page, and be between 225–250 words long. Title page, in-text citations, and the reference page are NOT included in the word limit. Your Journal Critique should consist of three parts (each part should be one paragraph in length):

· Part 1: Summary Paragraph,

· Part 2: Analysis of Author’s Key Points

· Part 3: Personal Response

It is appropriate to use personal pronouns in Part 3: Personal Response, but not in any other section of the Journal Critique.

When composing your critique, remember to use graduate professional writing. Do not begin with “This article is about…” Instead, open the review with a strong thesis statement and summarize the author’s main points in the first paragraph. Using third person, state your personal reaction to the article in the final paragraph (“This author agrees/disagrees…” or “one can see that…”).

Unit 4 Discussions (CTC101) (ACC111) (ENG130) (ENG110)

Unit 4 DB: Study Strengths and Learning Preference (CTC101)

After reviewing this week’s Readings and Resources, be prepared to discuss the following questions:

  • How can the habit Begin With the End in Mind benefit your academic motivation?
  • What study strategies will most help you improve?
  • How do you take advantage of learning styles in a way that will benefit you in your future career in
  • business?

Unit 4 Discussion (ACC111)

Anne Marie, the owner of Anne’s Beauty Salon, comes to see you again.  She tells you that she has one more question for you.

She told you that her accountant tried to explain to her the closing process in the accounting cycle.  The more he talked, the more confusing it got.  How would you explain the closing process to Anne Marie?

She also asked about dividends.  What are they?  Will they increase expense?

Unit 4 DB: Finding theme in children’s literature (ENG130)

The definition of Theme is often abridged to “the main idea.” However, Theme is more involved than that. Essentially, a theme is the author’s message–what the author wants to tell his/her readers about people in general. Themes can be supported by many of the story’s components, particularly the characters’ words, actions, and conflicts.Initial response: One of the best ways to analyze theme is to look at it through children’s literature. For this response, think of a children’s story/book and analyze what the theme is. What is the author trying to tell children about life? About people?

  • What story are you choosing? If you can find a link to the book or story, please post this.
  • Provide a brief summary of the story (be careful about cutting and pasting. Please use your own words)
  • What do you feel is the theme of this story and WHY?
  • Be sure to include text examples with your response
  • End your response by asking a question of your classmates

Unit 4 DB: Expressing the Pro and Con of an Issue (ENG110)

The Unit 4 assignment is going to be focusing on one pro and one con of these issues:

  • Climate Change
  • Free Health Care
  • Employer’s Access to Employee’s Social Media

You are going to use this discussion board to explore these three issues. This exploration will help you with your Unit 4 Assignment.Initial Response:For your initial post, answer the questions below:

  • What is one positive aspect (pro) for each of the three issues above?
  • And, what is one negative aspect (con) for each of the three issues above?

Topic #1 – Models of Design Comparing with the ADDIE Model

Compare and contrast the ADDIE Model with another instructional design model (such as Dick & Carey or Kemp – or another model that you have researched). What are the strengths and weaknesses of these two different models? Having reviewed the training models and methodologies from this week’s reading list, which approach would you be inclined to use or suggest for designing and developing training? Provide your rationale. Use at least two resources from the class.

Topic #2 – Bloom’s Taxonomy

Bloom's Taxonomy

Bloom’s Taxonomy, originally created in 1956, was a framework consisting of six major categories: Knowledge, Comprehension, Application, Analysis, Synthesis, and Evaluation. With Knowledge as the basic foundation or precondition, the other categories were presented as “skills and abilities.”

A revised taxonomy updated Bloom’s original categories (see above figure developed by Vanderbilt University Center for Teaching) by using verbs to label each categories and subcategories (rather than the nouns of the original taxonomy). These “action words” describe the cognitive processes by which thinkers encounter and work with knowledge. How can this model be used in developing and designing training/learning objectives? Use at least two resources from the class.

Topic #3 – Training Needs Analysis (TNA) The Training Issue

Step 1 of  Assignment 1 provides the foundation for an effective and valid training needs analysis (TNA). Review step 1 from Assignment 1 and post a summary/draft of your training issue from an organizational perspective. Include high level information about the organization and the high-level problem or challenge driving the need for training (not an individual level skill deficiency for this step).

Your response should be a minimum of two paragraphs.

Part 1. PICOT Question

Using one of the PICOT Questions Templates provided, present the PICOT question. Please use the attached template and then copy and paste it into your response. Do not attach the actual document.

NUR4166 Templates and Definitions for PICOT Questions_KU.docx Part 2. Clinical Significance Statement

Briefly provide Clinical Significance supported by the literature. Clinical significance means that the literature provides evidence to support the practice as important to patient care, patient outcomes, and as such is the best choice for patient care.

Heavey, E. (2015). Differentiating statistical significance and clinical significance. AmericanNurseToday, 10(5), 26-28.

Heavey 2015.pdf Example – please note this is an older previous students work and so some references are older than 5 years. Be sure to provide the PICOT question to begin this post.

PICOT Question:

P=Patient Population

I=Intervention

C=Comparison

O=Outcome

T=Time (duration):

In patients in the hospital, (P)

how does frequently provided patient hand washing (I)

compared with patient initiated hand washing (C)

affect hospital acquired infection (O)

within the hospital stay (T)

Clinical Significance

Hand hygiene is one of the most advocated strategies in the hospital setting to reduce hospital acquired infection (HAI). According to Strigley, Furness, and Gardam (2014), patients were given real time location systems (RTLS) to count the number of times patients accessed a hand hygiene station (p 1336). There are four moments when hand hygiene may be indicated to reduce their risk of acquiring HAI, using the bathroom, before eating, and when entering and leaving their rooms (Strigley, Furness, Gardam, 2014, p 1336). The hospital floor consists of hand a sanitizer dispenser and soap dispensers with transponders that counted how many times the patients used the hand washing station. Organisms such as Clostridium difficile, or Norovirus may be transmitted from their own soiled hands (Strigley, Furness, Gardam, 2014, p 1336). Hand washing can reduce the number of organisms, which in turn can reduce infections. Although it might be hard to measure and gather more data on hand hygiene, the RTLS is one way to measure if hand hygiene is performed. Closely observing patients and reminding them can also increase the number of times patients wash their hands.

7-1 Private Discussion: Categorical Data Analysis

Overview: Your active participation in the discussions is essential to your overall success this term. Discussion questions will help you make meaningful connections between the course content and the larger concepts of the course. Due to the sensitive nature of the article for this assignment, you will interact privately with your instructor for this discussion.

Prompt:  In the article, “Differences Between Age and Sex in Adolescent Suicide,” by Lee, Dwyer, Paul, Clarke, Treleaven, and Roseby (2019), the methods in Chapter 17 (17.3) of your textbook were used to analyze the data. Please refer to this article in the Reading and Resources area of this week’s module. Use Table 1, and Figures 1 and 2 in the article to respond to the following:

1. Describe one type of stressor that occurred statistically significantly more often in one age group over another (older vs younger). Describe which age group was more likely to be affected by this stressor and by how much.

2. Which method of suicide are females statistically significantly more likely to use as compared to males? Which method do males tend to use more than females? What other results are provided or what other data could be presented to help explain this finding?

Rubric for assignment has been posted below.

3. Describe the story that is being told by Figure 1 and Figure 2. Then explain why the order of the colored lines (top to bottom) is different between the two graphs.

Project 2: The Culture of Debt – please read and answer

You are a great inspiration to our friend Frank, and his personal finances are really coming together. Unfortunately, Frank is feeling very overwhelmed with his debt situation. He now needs to start paying off his student loan, and he, like all of us, did not realize how much he has charged on his credit cards. He has spread out the bills over his desk, and they do not look pretty.

Thankfully, you are an amazing resource when it comes to personal finance and debt elimination! Let us again help our friend Frank by answering the following questions on credit and debt.

1. Consumer Credit
Frank needs a good understanding of consumer credit.

  • Explain to him the concept of consumer credit,
  • Explain why it is important to our economy,
  • Explain the uses and misuses of credit,
  • Explain the advantages and disadvantages of consumer credit.
    2. Cosigning a Loan
A friend has asked Frank to cosign a loan for a $10,000 home theater system. Franks wants to help out his friend, but has no idea what cosigning for a loan even means. He is about to put his signature on the dotted line, but has just sent you a text to get your opinion.
  • Explain to Frank what it means to cosign for a loan
  • What are some things that should Frank consider before he signs his name on the
    loan?
    3. Credit Score
Upon your suggestion, Frank just learned that his credit score is 578, and he does not know if this score is good or not.
  • Explain to him what this score means
  • Frank would like to earn an excellent credit score—what would that number look like?
  • Outline a good strategy for Frank on how he can increase his credit score.
    4. Credit Card Billing Error
Frank just received his Visa card statement and noticed that he was charged twice for the same pair of shoes that he recently purchased at the Johnston & Murphy store in the North Park Centre Mall in Dallas. Frank thinks that since this is not his fault, he will just sit back and not make any payments on the card until this mess is cleaned up.
  • Is this a good idea?
  • Explain to Frank what he should do in the case of a billing error.

  • $42,000 on his student loan (min. payment $200/mo.)
  • $1,200 in savings
The good news is that Frank has an excellent income, and he still lives with his parents who want him to succeed in his finances and are not charging him rent. He just received a late graduation gift of $500 from his uncle that he can apply to these debts and he can add an additional $250 on top of the minimum payments of $750 that he is currently paying. Unfortunately, Frank does not know what debts to pay off first, and is stressed-out about his situation.
  •   Explain to him the concept of a Debt Snowball and how it works
  •   Explain to him which debts he should pay off first with the $500 gift
  •   Develop the first sheet of a Debt Snowball to get him on tract to pay off these
    debts
    6. PersonalBankruptcy
A few months have passed, and Frank is making great progress with the debt
snowball that you designed for him. Unfortunately, a coworker suggested that Frank should just declare personal bankruptcy in order wipe his slate clean and everything would be cool.
  • Explain to Frank what it means to declare personal bankruptcy
  • Explain to Frank the effects of personal bankruptcy on his future
  • Explain to Frank the costs of declaring personal bankruptcy
  • By the way, can student loans be forgiven in bankruptcy?
    7. Purchasing Strategy
Frank, like any typical American, loves to shop and eat out. He had $375 of cash in his pocket on Friday evening, and when Monday morning rolled around, he only had $5 left and almost nothing to show for it—except some wild memories.

• Please help Frank develop a purchasing strategy to help control his impulse spending.
