POSTER PRESENTATIONS:

       1. At a minimum, EBP/research posters should include the following sections:

        1.Title, Student Name, Widener University

         2. Abstract (150-250 words max)

          3. Introduction / Background (Keep it brief!)

           4. Clinical Issue: Identify clinical issue, significance & and PICO(T) question

            5. Search Process: brief – databases & keywords used

            6. Critical Appraisal of Evidence: brief! Identify and synthesize key findings from 3 research articles related to your topic (and PICO(T) question) that have been critically appraised and evaluated for a potential change in nursing practice (* articles must be from peer-reviewed journals & ideally published within the past 5-7 years [unless it is a seminal work on the topic]).

           8. Conclusion: Provide a few sentences concluding your topic & findings.

           9. References: must be in APA format

           2. Posters should be developed using an electronic scientific poster template. Free templates using PowerPoint can be found at MakeSigns.com (https://www.makesigns.com/SciPosters_Templates.aspx (Links to an external site.)). The typical poster size for conferences is 48×36 (landscape). The design/layout you select is up to you and should be appropriate for the information that you plan to present.

   3. Tips for creating EBP posters:

  • Keep words to a minimum! Should have fewer words in each section than your papers.
  • Include as much white space as possible.
  • Images, graphs, and charts are a great way to display information (instead of text).
  • Bullet points make information easier to read in a poster.
  • Font size in a 48×36 poster should be at least 24 points.
  • 4.  Students will exhibit &/or verbally present their posters on the Poster Day if being held in person -OR- in person virtually if course is being held in an online platform (such as Zoom). Other nursing students and faculty may be invited to attend to view the posters so that a conference-like atmosphere is attained.

Real Estate Analysis Part I

Scenario

Smart businesses in all industries use data to provide an intuitive analysis of how they can get a competitive advantage. The real estate industry heavily uses linear regression to estimate home prices, as cost of housing is currently the largest expense for most families. Additionally, in order to help new homeowners and home sellers with important decisions, real estate professionals need to go beyond showing property inventory. They need to be well versed in the relationship between price, square footage, build year, location, and so many other factors that can help predict the business environment and provide the best advice to their clients.

Prompt

You have been recently hired as a junior analyst by D.M. Pan Real Estate Company. The sales team has tasked you with preparing a report that examines the relationship between the selling price of properties and their size in square feet. You have been provided with a Real Estate Data spreadsheet that includes properties sold nationwide in recent years. The team has asked you to select a region, complete an initial analysis, and provide the report to the team.

Note: In the report you prepare for the sales team, the response variable (y) should be the listing price and the predictor variable (x) should be the square feet.

Specifically you must address the following rubric criteria, using the Module Two Assignment Template:

  • Generate a Representative Sample of the Data
    • Select a region and generate a simple random sample of 30 from the data.
    •  Report the mean, median, and standard deviation of the listing price and the square foot variables.
  • Analyze Your Sample
    • Discuss how the regional sample created is or is not reflective of the national market.
    • Explain how you have made sure that the sample is random.
      • Explain your methods to get a truly random sample.
  • Generate Scatterplot
    • Create a scatterplot of the x and y variables noted above and include a trend line and the regression equation
  • Observe patterns
    • Answer the following questions based on the scatterplot:
      • Define x and y. Which variable is useful for making predictions?
      • Is there an association between x and y? Describe the association you see in the scatter plot.
      • What do you see as the shape (linear or nonlinear)?
      • If you had a 1,800 square foot house, based on the regression equation in the graph, what price would you choose to list at?
      • Do you see any potential outliers in the scatterplot?
        • Why do you think the outliers appeared in the scatterplot you generated?
        • What do they represent?

Discussion 1: The Modern Presidency

Please note: This discussion will be graded and you need to post twice: one original post and one post responding to someone else. Please cite pages and consider using direct quotes from the reading to support your points. Be considerate in your responses to your peers (and follow the norms of ‘netiquette’ listed in the introduction module). Please post both of your posts by the end of the day on July 27.

Chapter 1 from Grover (from his book, The President as Prisoner) describes the rise of the modern presidency as a fundamental shift in the nature of the office (see also Pika et al., Chapter 1 from Politics of the Presidency).

So, what is the modern presidency? Please write a post exploring the rise and nature of the modern presidency compared to the earlier presidency. Your answer should consider some specific insights from the readings. Please discuss at least one of the following:

A. What led to the emergence of the modern presidency and how does it differ from the earlier ‘traditional’ presidency?

B. What does Laski see as the obstacles to a powerful ‘modern’ presidency before the 1930s? Do some of these still apply even if the presidency has become more powerful?

C. What is Rossiter’s approach to understanding the modern presidency? Why is he confident this modern office will not become dangerously powerful?

D. How does Neustadt understand presidential power, even in the modern presidency? What does it take for a president to be successful in handling the modern office? How does Neustadt’s view potentially challenge or go beyond Rossiter?

Assessment 4: Presenting Data Analysis Results Effectively

Create a 9-slide PowerPoint presentation that interprets four of the graphs from the report you created in the last two assessments. You have the option of recording a voice-over of up to 10 minutes or including detailed presenter’s notes in the PowerPoint slide deck to explain the points in each slide.

The ability to translate analytic results into clear, concise business language and actionable results is vital for managers and analysts. Managers are often required to present the results of their team’s analysis to executives and must be able to explain the results at a high level as well as understand enough about the details to answer any questions the executives might pose.

How much an analysis is valued can depend heavily on how well the results of that analysis are articulated. Communicating the results of your data analysis so the applications to your business are clear and explicit can greatly enhance the value of your analytic work. In this assessment, consider how you can best communicate the results that you wrote about in your previous assessment. Review any feedback you received on your first assessment and use it to enhance this assessment.

Scenario

You are a senior analyst in a business. You may choose any publicly traded company of interest that has practical meaning for you. Your immediate supervisor read your last analytics report on the company’s historical stock performance and was so impressed with your work that she has asked you to present the key points from that report at a company-wide meeting.

Your Role

You have been allotted no more than 10 minutes to present the highlights of your analytics report to an audience from all levels of the company and explain how the results of your analysis apply to the business using four charts or tables from your report.

Instructions

Create a 9-slide PowerPoint presentation with detailed presenter’s notes or recorded voice-over in which you present and interpret four graphs from the report you created in the last two assessments. Format your presentation as follows:

  • 1 title slide.
  • 1 introduction slide explaining the business context.
  • 4 graphics slides: one for each of the four charts in your report and your interpretation of each chart.
  • 2 conclusion slides explaining how the data analysis results can be applied in the chosen business context.
  • 1 slide with APA-formatted references.

Additional Requirements

  • Use short but complete sentences that are clear, comprehensible, and free of jargon for each bullet point.
  • Include no more than 3 bullet points per slide if possible.
  • Include APA-formatted in-text citations where appropriate
  • Ensure your presentation is relevant to and easily understood by everyone in the audience. Remember, you will be speaking to people of all levels in the company.
  • If you include a voice-over in lieu of presenter’s notes, your recording should be no longer than 12 minutes.
  • Your written communication should be free of errors that detract from the overall message.
  • Include an APA-formatted references slide at the end of the presentation.

Evaluation

By successfully completing this assessment, you will demonstrate your proficiency in the following course competencies through corresponding scoring guide criteria:

  • Competency 1: Explain how data management techniques and tools are used to support business decisions.
    • Introduce the business context.
    • Explain how the results of your analysis are applicable to the business context.
  • Competency 4: Present the results of data analysis in clear and meaningful ways to multiple stakeholders.
    • Interpret or explain the meaning of the two different graphical representations of data.
    • Format citations and references correctly using current APA style.
    • Present content clearly, professionally, and logically for the identified audience.

NEED IN 12 HOURS or LESS

Why is it important to have a strategic target when collecting data for business analytics? How does the methodology used to collect the data affect the outcome? What creative methods can you think of that would cause this practice to be more effective in today’s technology driven world?

REPLY TO MY CLASSMATE’S POST. EXPLAINING WHY YOU AGREE WITH HIS POST TO THE ABOVE DISCUSSION (A MINIMUM OF 150 WORDS EACH)

                                                        CLASSMATE’S POST

Having a strategic target can be a key factor when it comes to the success of an organization. Whereas a combination of data and its strategy along with a strategic plan and employees who understand the plan, goals, etc. can be a powerful asset for an organization. This form of technology has the capability to help the management team and their organization make the appropriate business decisions, improve processes and more.

Strategic targets are generally designed to be a means of motivating and path guidance for influencing decision making. As when there is no strategic target, any efforts put forth by an individual or a team can potentially be useless. In addition to this, it can also cause an organization to lose money, skills, and other useful resources.

This form of technology provides an organization with a way to analyze data sets and a means of gathering new information. As for many individuals and/or organizations (professionally and personally), data can be a great asset, however, what is done with the data is what can be the deciding factor when it comes to making an organization or individual, as well as breaking one. Whereas this provides actionable insights in which alerts an organization if they have fallen short, met or exceeded their strategic targets, goals, objectives, etc. Also, it is a means of helping the organization to improve customer engagement amongst other things.

If the method in which they use provides them with the wrong data, this can be an enormous problem for an organization. As they have incorrect information which can cause them to unknowingly miss desired targets and can cause a domino effect in a number of other areas due to incorrect data and calculations.

Case: Challenge with CSR – 4 – Pages – APA – Deadline/Price Non Negotiable

A key challenge with CSR is determining the ways in which companies measure, represent, and report on their ethical and sustainable programs and activities. Although there are national and global best practices for ethical behavior by corporations, there is no single national or universal index used by all.

As a potential socially responsible investor, you’re interested in learning more about a company’s CSR and sustainability practices. To that end, you are planning to perform due diligence before making a decision about whether or not to invest in a company. Select one Multi-National Company (MNC) and read its annual CSR report. Then address the following:

  • Compare and contrast the company’s CSR report using the Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes and The Global 100, which measure the CSR practices of corporations. Evaluate the usefulness of these two indices for your research on the MNC’s CSR practices by critiquing the credibility and limitations of each.
  • Generate a report about the company’s CSR performance and strategies based on your analysis. Support and cite your analysis with facts drawn from your research.

Your well-written paper must adhere to the following parameters:

  • Be 4 pages in length, not including the title and reference pages.
  • Be supported by six, with at least four scholarly references. Remember, you must support your thinking/opinions and prior knowledge with references; all facts must be supported; in-text references used throughout the assignment must be included in an APA-formatted reference list.
  • Review the grading rubric within this assignment for more detail on how this assignment will be graded.
  • Be formatted according to the CSU Global Writing Center (Links to an external site.) .

NU500-WEEK5-DISCUSSION-REPLY2

The article reviewed was by Bvumbwe and Mtshali (2018) that developed a middle-range model aimed at improving the quality of nursing education in Malawi. In using the theory, the study developed a planning model that would provide a guide to planners that would aid in matching strategies and situational determinants experienced in the healthcare environment. The developed model, in this case, was ingrained in improving the quality of education extended to nurses in Malawi by ensuring a match between theory and practice for the students and future practitioners. Utilization of the model will be instrumental to the nursing education environment. It will contribute towards adopting multiple strategies in the learning environment that will positively impact nursing practice in the healthcare environment. The use of the middle-range approach is instrumental for the research. It guides the assessment of the current issue by identifying contributing variables that will guide the development of the most viable intervention, as highlighted in the study. Therefore, utilizing the middle range theory in nursing will help improve the training process to ensure the students can effectively apply the knowledge learned in the healthcare environment.
The adult learning theory is instrumental in guiding teaching practices and curriculum development in nursing as it will explore the process from an understanding of how adults learn. The approach is instrumental as it develops a contrast between adult and child learning, influencing the teaching practices and curriculum development measures adopted (Murdoch et al., 2017). In this case, the adult learning theory application in the process will be instrumental in ensuring the teachers adopt learning techniques such as discussions and cooperative learning to facilitate effective adult learning (Mukhalalati & Tayor, 2019). Also, the approach will ensure that emphasis is placed on practical learning as adult learning is ingrained towards application in the healthcare environment.
