Case Study Project, Revised Draft

Instructions

Case Study Project

(first draft and revised draft)

Overview

For this final project you will continue with the social issue that you selected (language and power; freedom and security; health and wealth) and you will write an essay where you discuss your perspective. You will use the ideas and information from the summary-response and the quote log to write your case study. You will submit a first draft and a revised draft of this assignment.

Content

  • Describe a “real life” instance of your selected social issue in a professional or a personal setting.
  • Discuss your perspective on your selected social issue, including the reasons for your viewpoint.
  • Discuss how your core values inform or influence your perspective on your selected social issue.
  • Demonstrate that you are really thinking about your issue—don’t settle for easy answers, don’t pretend that conflicting evidence doesn’t exist, and don’t feel that you have to take an either-or position.
  • Discuss the complexities of your selected social issue. For example, do not just conclude that using academic language is always good, or that government surveillance is always bad, or that wealth automatically leads to health. Think about the intricacies of these issues and how they play out in everyday life.

Organization

  • Include an introductory paragraph, where you clearly outline a “real-life” instance of your social issue and you give a thesis statement that indicates your perspective (see Part 2: Writing Your Introduction for an example).
  • Include three body paragraphs where you include details, examples, and quotes from at least three of the course readings to help you develop and support your key points (see Part 3: Writing Your Body Paragraphs. for an example).
  • Include one body paragraph where you discuss how your core values inform or influence your perspective on your selected social issue (see Part 3: Writing Your Body Paragraphs. for an example).
  • End your essay with a concluding paragraph where you restate your thesis, summarize your key points, and leave the reader with the “so what?” ( see Part 4: Writing Your Conclusion for an example).

Grammar and Mechanics

  • Your paper should be written according to the standards for academic writing, with attention to the following:
    • punctuation: this includes things such as use of commas, colons, and apostrophes.
    • word-level accuracy: this includes things such as capitalization, spelling, word-tense, and usage.
    • sentence-level accuracy: this includes things such as sentence boundaries, subject-verb agreement, and pronoun-antecedent agreement.
  • Take time to proofread after you’ve written your essay. Think about your own writing habits you might want to change  (like using “text-speak” or sentence fragments) and watch out for those. Reading your paper aloud is a good way to catch any mistakes.

Sources and Documentation

  • You are required to use three sources for this assignment. Your sources should be selected from the assigned course readings on your selected issue (language and power; freedom and security; health and wealth).
  • Your paper should use APA-style documentation for in-text citations. You do not need to complete a reference page.

Format and Length

  • Your paper should include a header consisting of your name and the assignment name and a title tailored to your topic. (See example below.)
  • Your paper should be typed, double-spaced and in 12-point font.
  • Your final product should be a minimum of six paragraphs (about 900-1100 words) in length. However, the quality of the content of this essay is most important. Be sure to fully answer the prompt.

Constitutional Law VS Administrative Law

Week 4 Assignment – Constitutional Law vs. Administrative Law

Constitutional law is something you are likely familiar with to some extent, but the laws around administrative law may be less familiar. While the Constitution outlines many specific laws, it does not necessarily speak to much of what happens in the administration of our government. For this assignment, you are asked to look at where constitutional and administrative law intersect and where they diverge.

Write a 3–4 page paper that includes the following three parts:

An explanation of the areas in which constitutional and administrative law intersect.

An explanation of where constitutional and administrative laws diverge.

An evaluation of the impact of the divergence in these laws. What impact does this have for someone working in the field of public administration?

Use at least three sources to support your writing. Choose sources that are credible, relevant, and appropriate. Cite each source listed on your sources page at least one time within your assignment. For help with research, writing, and citing sources, access the library or review library guides.

This course requires the use of Strayer Writing Standards. For assistance and information, please refer to the Strayer Writing Standards link in the left-hand menu of your course. Check with your professor for any additional instructions.

The specific course learning outcome associated with this assignment is:

Evaluate the concepts of and interactions between constitutional and administrative law in the realm of public administration.

Faster Computing has contacted Go2Linux and requested a brief proposal presentation for migrating its systems from Windows to Linux

Attached will be a template of the assignment is wanted done. I will do the audio recording narration of each slide.

Instructions

Faster Computing has contacted Go2Linux and requested a brief proposal presentation for migrating its systems from Windows to Linux.

The company is specifically interested in seeing the following information:

(10.1.1: Identify the problem to be solved.)

  • Based on your current understanding of Faster Computing’s business, what are some potential benefits of Linux?
  • The company is aware that many different Linux derivatives exist. Be very specific and choose only one version (e.g., Ubuntu, Mint, Zorin, Redhat, CentOS, Kali). Which would Go2Linux recommend, and why? Give specific reasons for your choice (e.g., security features, support, updates, user interface).

(10.1.2: Gather project requirements to meet stakeholder needs.)

  • What steps will be required to migrate the systems from Windows to Linux?
  • Are there graphical interfaces available for the Linux workstations that would provide similar functionality to Windows? Some users are concerned about working with a command-line interface.

(10.1.3: Define the specifications of required technologies.)

  • What tools are available on Linux for the servers to provide file sharing, Linux services, and printing? (e.g., Apache/Nginx, Samba, CUPS, SSH/SCP). Ensure you identify what the functions/services are used for (e.g., Samba is used for file sharing).

(1.1.3: Present ideas in a clear, logical order appropriate to the task.)

The deliverable for this phase of the project is a three- to five-slide PowerPoint narrated presentation.

  • An introductory slide
  • A summary slide
  • Voice narration on every slide

For each slide, you will embed your own audio recording as if you were presenting the content to the Faster Computing team. Faster Computing has not yet committed to the project, so this should be presented as a proposal. The presentation should be visually appealing; the inclusion of at least one image that supports the content and adds value to the proposal is required.

(1.3.3: Integrate appropriate credible sources to illustrate and validate ideas.)

You must cite at least two quality sources.

You used at least 2 references and your references were cited properly following an accepted style. Ask your instructor for clarification.

Use the Migration Proposal Presentation template to get started.

(2.3.1: State conclusions or solutions clearly and precisely.)

You should present your proposal as if you are selling to the company. Revisit all of these important reasons in the summary slide.

Different companies with global markets may have different product names and products for different products. Coca-Cola has the same products in India, Japan, and the United States, as well as other products for different products, such as Japanese green tea and Indian buttermilk. The global market has different market advantages and disadvantages, so companies must find a competitive advantage so that they can not only manipulate the target market, but also meet the gap in market demand.

Although most of Coca-Cola’s decisions are made in Atlanta, such as the introduction of low-carbon cola, the products of different countries/regions are different. For example, Coca-Cola has the same brand name and the same formula, but the sweeteners are different in these three countries. The packaging may also be different to meet the country’s regulations (Hitt et al., 2016). It also distributes locally to ensure that companies in these countries/regions have a competitive advantage in their products through product differentiation.

For some Coca-Cola products, they have different names in the three markets. The main reason for this is to ensure that the name matches the language of the country. Sometimes some companies are already using a specific brand name, so they need to change the brand name (Wong & Merrilees, 2007). However, in these three countries, most Coca-Cola products are similar because the company can create a global brand, which not only makes marketing and advertising easy, but also achieves economies of scale. For example, an advertisement published in the American media is likely to reach certain target markets in Japan and India. Global branding on the Internet has also become easier, and people can always recognize a specific brand they know in another country. In conclusion, Coca-Cola has achieved a competitive advantage, met customers’ needs, and at the same time achieved a global brand.

Good afternoon class,

In this discussion post, I will provide responses to the third and fourth questions.

3. How do you identify the SWOT factors in a fictitious firm?

The SWOT factors include analyzing the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats of a business. To identify these factors, you need to evaluate the internal and external factors that are affecting a firm. A fictitious firm name is “the name of the business when officially registered with the government.” If the opportunities are new and there are existing threats, you can identify the SWOT factors in a fictitious firm. First, the firm would need to analyze their internal factors such as their target areas, customers, competitors, and services offered, then they could move on to their external firm factors. The SWOT analysis is going to allow them to make educated decisions on the market they are in, and the type of firm they currently have.

4. Which SWOT Factors must be specific to the firm and which can be Generic? Why?

I think that all factors can be considered generic in a way. Each firm is going to evaluate their own standings within the economy. The firm would need to be specific on their own strengths and weaknesses, because that is dependent upon each firm. Not all firms are strong and weak in the same areas, so those internal factors would be firm dependent. Threats and opportunities are more general and generic, because they apply to the entire market economy. The opportunities and threats are external factors, that can easily change throughout the market.

Thanks, Sierra McConnell

S Payne

When developing a SWOT analysis for a fictitious firm, it is important to do research and have a good picture of the fictitious firm. Research into competing firms in the same market is vital, not just to determine external factors, such as threats and opportunities. Evaluating competing firms for internal factors, strengths and weaknesses, is just as important because it gives the researcher an idea of what companies in the market are like. Many times, these companies possess some of the same strengths and weaknesses and therefore, would likely be found in the fictitious firm. It is also important to determine what the weaknesses are in competing companies which could be exploited or improved to create a competitive advantage.

The SWOT factors which must be specific for the company are the internal factors, strengths and weaknesses (Lake, 2020). This is because these factors are used to identify things to highlight or a competitive advantage and things to improve for the specific company. While some of the findings may be found in like companies in the market, most are factors solely found at the individual company. The SWOT factors which can be generic are the external factors, threats and opportunities. When evaluating external factors, economic, political, technological, legal, social issues are researched in addition to the market in general. These topics affect each of the companies in the specific market and can affect them in a similar manner (Lake, 2020). One example of this would be an economic recession. While some companies flourish on the backend of a recession based on their strategy during the recession, the recession affects all companies in a similar manner – consumers do not purchase wants to the same extent. Recessions can impact some companies more than others, but in general do so in the same way.

Letter to the Editor: Population Health Policy Advocacy

Write a letter to the editor (3–5 double-spaced typed pages) of an academic or professional journal. Your submission should be succinct yet substantive.

Note: Each assessment in this course builds on the work you completed in the previous assessment. Therefore, you must complete the assessments in this course in the order in which they are presented.

Advocating for new policies is an important aspect of the master’s-prepared nurse. For new policies to be compelling they need to be supported by evidence. Supporting data can be used to illustrate why new policies and interventions are needed to help address a specific health issue. Compelling data can help sway the stakeholders and gain support for your policy.

Another aspect of advocacy is disseminating new policies and interventions outside of the immediate care environment. This can be done by reaching out to professional organizations as well as academic and professional journals. A letter to the editor is one strategy for disseminating information to a wider audience, and to potentially enlist support throughout the wider professional community.

By successfully completing this assessment, you will demonstrate your proficiency in the following course competencies and assessment criteria:

  • Competency 1: Design evidence-based advanced nursing care for achieving high-quality population outcomes.
    • Evaluate the current state of the quality of care and outcomes for a specific issue in a target population.
    • Justify why a developed policy will be vital in improving the quality of care and outcomes for a specific issue in a target population.
  • Competency 2: Evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of interprofessional interventions in achieving desired population health outcomes.
    • Analyze the ways in which interprofessional aspects of a developed policy will support efficient and effective achievement of desired outcomes for the target population.
  • Competency 3: Analyze population health outcomes in terms of their implications for health policy advocacy.
    • Analyze how the current state of the quality of care and outcomes for a specific issue in a target population necessitates health policy development and advocacy.
    • Advocate for policy development in other care settings with regard to a specific issue in a target population.
  • Competency 4: Communicate effectively with diverse audiences, in an appropriate form and style, consistent with organizational, professional, and scholarly standards.
    • Communicate in a professional and persuasive manner, writing content clearly and logically with correct use of grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
    • Integrate relevant sources to support assertions, correctly formatting citations and references using APA style.

Nurses have the opportunity to use their skills and develop programs to keep individuals and communities healthy. Health is complex however, and the nurse needs to possess strong advocacy skills to successfully support a cause or interest. The American Nurses Association’s code of ethics (2015) describes the responsibility of a nurse to include working through and with appropriate stakeholders to advocate for the health of people in and out of the work environment. To be an effective advocate, there are several important abilities a nurse must possess, including problem solving, communication, and influencing others. One way a nurse can advocate to a broader population is through effective letter writing, both to legislators and through the media, such as with editorials and research articles.

As you prepare to complete this assessment, you may want to think about other related issues to deepen your understanding or broaden your viewpoint. You are encouraged to consider the questions below and discuss them with a fellow learner, a work associate, an interested friend, or a member of your professional community. Note that these questions are for your own development and exploration and do not need to be completed or submitted as part of your assessment.

Assessment 3 will build upon the work you have done for your previous two assessments. For this assessment, you will be writing a letter to the editor of an academic or professional journal as a means to advocate for adoption or development of policies that will improve the quality of care and outcomes around your chosen health care issue and vulnerable population.

  • Looking at your health care issue from a prevention standpoint, what are the relevant levels of prevention?
    • What would be the benefits and challenges of applying a specific level of prevention to your chosen issue and population?
    • How might one or more approaches to prevention improve the care and outcomes?
      • How could your policy be leveraged, or revised, to support the relevant levels of prevention?
  • What are relevant strategies that you could use to help advocate for the policy you are proposing?
    • How could these strategies help you advocate for your policy proposal?
    • How does evidence from the literature support the benefits of your proposed policy?
      • How does citing evidence help lend credibility to your advocacy?
  • What academic or professional journal would be the best forum to advocate for your policy?
    • Why is your chosen journal an appropriate forum?
    • Which advocacy strategies would be most effective in this forum?
    • How will you craft your message to best appeal to the likely audience of your chosen journal?

Scenario

Throughout this course, you have focused on a specific health issue occurring within a specific population. You researched position papers regarding this health concern, and you developed a health policy proposal to positively impact the health of the affected individuals. It is now time to reach a greater audience regarding your policy proposal.

Instructions

Develop a letter to the editor of a peer-reviewed academic or professional nursing journal based on the policy proposal that you created for Assessment 2. Choose from one of the journals on the Ultimate List of Nursing Journals (in the Resources) and go to that journal’s Web site to find out the requirements for submitting a letter to the editor, such as format requirements, topics, and word counts. Make sure you select a nursing journal that covers the topic about which you are going to write. If you want to use another journal that is not on this list, please make sure the journal does address health care, because this is the purpose of the assessment.

The goal of your letter is to be informative about the policy that you developed for Assessment 2, while also being persuasive about the need for and benefit of similar policies in other health care settings. The bullet points below correspond to the grading criteria in the scoring guide. Be sure that your submission addresses all of them. You may also want to read the Letter to the Editor: Population Health Policy Advocacy Scoring Guide and Guiding Questions: Letter to the Editor: Population Health Policy Advocacy document to better understand how each grading criterion will be assessed.

  • Evaluate the current state of the quality of care and outcomes for a specific issue in a target population.
    • Look back to the data or scenario you used in Assessment 1 to address this criterion.
  • Analyze how the current state of the quality of care and outcomes for a specific issue in a target population necessitates health policy development and advocacy.
  • Justify why a developed policy will be vital in improving the quality of care and outcomes for a specific issue in a target population.
  • Advocate for policy development in other care settings with regard to a specific issue in a target population.
  • Analyze the ways in which interprofessional aspects of a developed policy will support efficient and effective achievement of desired outcomes for the target population.
  • Communicate in a professional and persuasive manner, writing content clearly and logically with correct use of grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
  • Integrate relevant sources to support assertions, correctly formatting citations and references using current APA style (or the journal’s preferred style).

Example Assessment: You may use the assessment example, linked in the Assessment Example section of the Resources, to give you an idea of what a Proficient or higher rating on the scoring guide would look like.

Additional Requirements

The submission requirements for your editorial will depend on the journal you choose. To find out the requirements, go to the journal’s Web site. There should be a section regarding submissions that will address how to format letters to the editor, and whether there is a word count limit (there usually is a limit).

  • If the journal does not have submission guidelines for the number of resources required, use 3–5 sources.
  • To be sure that your instructor knows the submission and formatting requirements for your letter, include the journal’s guidelines on a separate page at the end of the document you submit for this assessment.
  • Length of submission: 3–5 double-spaced typed pages. Your submission should be succinct yet substantive.

Global Health Issues

Many Westerners engage in a high degree of ethnocentrism which is the belief that one’s own culture is superior to all others and that their culture’s way of thinking about the world or doing things is the only correct way. Exceptionalism is evident in the belief that people from other cultures are “under-developed”, “primitive”, or “savages”. Western educational systems generally teach from an “Eurocentric” perspective which means students are mostly exposed to the ideas of old, rich, white, straight, often long-dead men. The social theories that underpin the discipline of global health are no exception. The ideas from amazing scholars from the 84% of the world that is non-Western are not regularly presented to students.

We will be critically analyzing how Western ethnocentrism and exceptionalism regularly creates problems in global health work. Some of the problematic Western ethnocentric and exceptionalist ideas we will consider are: 1) “Doing something is always better than doing nothing”, 2) “I want to be a voice for the voiceless”, 3) “Impoverished people in developing countries always want our help”, 4) “Westerners know best how to help impoverished people in developing countries” and 5) ” People in impoverished countries, who are closest to the problems, are not well-educated and are therefore not capable of developing their own solutions”.

Module Learning Objectives

By the completion of this module, the student should be able to do the following:

  • Critically analyze and reflect on ideas that challenge the notion of Western ethnocentrism and exceptionalism.
  • Critically analyze and reflect on the effects of Western ethnocentrism on global health work.

Supply and demand

This discussion board addresses the interaction among price, demand, and supply in how global markets work. H&M Brand and others face a backlash from China, a major cotton supplier, after expressed concern over alleged use of forced labor in cotton production. After reading the material in the chapters for this Unit please address in a presentation format with an accompanying graph how the market for H&M Company cotton clothing is impacted. Include an accompanying graph.(a)

  • China tells H&M that it will not be able to make a profit if they don’t buy all their cotton from the Xinjaing Region.
  • South Carolina, an alternative source of cotton, has a bumper crop of cotton that exceeds the supply from Xinjaing.
  • A synthetic material is developed that is identical to cotton in every way.

Each original post should include an explanation for each with three diagrams to emphasize the explanation.  Respond and engage with at least two of your classmates.  NOTE: diagrams can be created using an Office product such as Word or Excel or PowerPoint, or drawn by hand and submitted as an image, or some other product of the student’s choice.  It is most important to explain the underlying reasons why, the cause and effect. Your focus is on the market for sweatshirts, not sweaters or knitting machines. What is the impact on the sweatshirt market?

Discussion Board: 2 Dietary Differences – Paleo vs Keto vs Atkins

The topic of your lesson this week is Metabolism. You may think of metabolism as it relates to weight gain and weight loss. Actually, metabolism is the sum of all reactions occurring in the cell. Some reactions require an input of energy (Endergonic) and some reactions release energy (Exergonic). We consume food in our diet and this fuel is broken down to provide energy in the cell to do work. An example of work would be muscle cells contracting so that you can walk to your car or pick up your latte. The energy in our food is measure in calories and if we consume more calories than our cells use, we will gain weight. If we consume less calories than our cells use, we will lose weight. What is a calorie? In chemistry, a calorie (c) is the amount of energy it takes to raise 1 gram of water 1 degree Celsius. A kilocalorie (C) or 1000 calories (c) is the amount of energy it takes to raise 1 kilogram of water 1 degree Celsius. In food labels the calories that are listed are actually kilocalories (C).

If you recall from lesson 3, you learned that of the four macromolecules, three of those provide energy (Calories) in your diet – Carbohydrates, Proteins, and Fats. Did you know that for every gram of protein and carbohydrate you consume, it provides 4 Calories of energy? Fat provided 9 Calories of energy for every gram that you consume.

We don’t eat only to provide energy for our cells. Another important aspect of diet is the nutritional value of our food. As you learned in this lesson, most enzymes need cofactors and coenzymes to function. Vitamins (coenzymes) and minerals (cofactors) are obtained through our diet.

There are many popular diets today. Three diets we will highlight in this discussion board are the Atkins Diet, the Paleo Diet, and the Keto Diet.

The Atkins Diet was introduced in the 1960’s by Dr. Robert Atkins. Click this link for some basic information on this diet.

The “Paleo Diet” was published by Loren Cordain in 2002. Click this link for some basic information on this diet.

The Keto Diet was actually developed as a treatment for epilepsy. It is now used by some for weight loss. Click this link for basic information on this diet.

For this discussion board:

  • Choose two of the three diets (Atkins, Paleo, Keto). Focus on the types of foods included and excluded. Answer each question in numbered paragraphs (numbered 1. – 4.).  A one or two sentence answer will be considered too brief for full credit.
  1. Describe the basic diet plan for one of the three diets. Explain how the diet is meant to help with weight loss or improved health. Relate this to what you know about metabolism.
  2. Describe the basic diet plan of the second of the three diets. Explain how the diet is meant to help with weight loss or improved health. Relate this to what you know about metabolism
  3. Explain at least three similarities or differences between your two chosen diets
  4. Explain any possible health benefits or concerns (at least 3) that could result from following your chosen diet plans
  5. Read your classmate’s posts and respond to one who identified a health benefit or consequence that yours did not identify

It will be necessary for you to find sources to get information on these diets. Remember to always give credit or cite your source information. This should be written in your own words. You show understanding of the topic when you can summarize it without using the same phrases or word choice as the original article. Changing a few words in a sentence is still plagiarism. The link below is a good tutorial about avoiding plagiarism in your writing.

https://library.tccd.edu/resources/tutorials/plagiarism/index.php

Cite your sources using APA style. The website below has information to help you cite your source(s) correctly.

Hover over “Citation Guides” to choose the correct type of source.

Below is another resource regarding APA style from the TCC Library.

https://library.tccd.edu/academic_support/citations

Choose reliable sources like those found using the article database from the TCC library (Today’s Science and Science in Context by Gale are great), information from universities, and governmental websites (https://www.choosemyplate.gov

https://www.usda.gov/topics/food-and-nutrition) Wikipedia and personal websites/blogs are not good sources.

Grading criteria (Please see Grading Rubric for more detailed criteria):

10 points – grammar and source information, numbered paragraphs

8 points – describe the basic diet plan for one of the three diets

8 points – describe the basic diet plan for the second of the three diets

8 points – explain at least three similarities or differences between your two chosen diets

8 points – describe at least three health benefits or concerns for your chosen diets

8 points – read your classmate’s posts and respond to one who identified a health benefit or concern that yours did not identify.

Case study-correctional health care Assignment

Continue working with the case described in week 3. Prepare a table (freestyle) addressing the following:

1. Identify what information and evidence you have to apply to the strategic process steps.

2. Identify appropriate evidence you still need to correctly use the strategic planning process. (HINT: make sure to list all types of evidence you need)

3. Identify the sources of the needed evidence. Offer the stakeholders able to provide you with the evidence you are seeking.

For the incarcerated population in the United States, health care is a constitutionally guaranteed right under the provisions of the eight amendment which is the prohibition against cruel and unusual punishment (see Estelle v. Gamble). This particular prison can hold in excess of 1,728 offenders and routinely houses between 1,600 and 1,700 women on any given day. This institution incarcerates all custody classes to include minimum security, medium security, close custody, death row, and pretrial detainees.

The health care operation provides the highest level of care for the female offender in the state. The health care facility is a 101 thousand square foot, 150 bed, three-story building that cost the taxpayers $50 million dollars to construct and is a hybrid of an ambulatory care center, long-term care center, and a behavioral care center. The health care facility also houses an assisted living dorm.

The patient demographic includes women who have multiple co-morbidities including substance abuse, seriously persistent mental illnesses (SPMI), diabetes, cardiovascular disease, cancer, morbid obesity, HIV / AIDs, hepatitis, etc. On any given day there will also be 30 to 60 offenders who are pregnant, with 98% of those offenders having a history of substance abuse; all pregnant offenders are considered high-risk. The dental health of this patient population is exceptionally horrendous because of excessive drug abuse coupled with a sugary diet and poor oral hygiene practices. It is not uncommon for a 23-year-old to need all of her teeth extracted.

There are approximately 300 FTEs to include correctional staff that operate the facility and provide care to the offender population. The healthcare facility is comprised of the following directorates: (a) Medical, (b) Nursing, (c) Behavioral Health, (d) Pharmacy, (e) Dental, (f) Medical Records, (g) Health Service Support, and (h) Operations and Security.

Although the health care facility has a vast amount of capability, there limitations: (a) This facility does not have advanced cardiac life support capability (ACLS), (b) no surgical capability, (c) no ability to conduct telemetry, (d) no oral surgery beyond simple extractions, (e) no obstetrical capability beyond out-patient clinics, (f) MRI, (g) level 2 ultrasound, and the list goes on.

Those inmates who have medical needs that cannot be addressed by the health services staff at the correctional facility will need appointments with external health care providers who have a business relationship with the prisons in this area. On any given month, there will be approximately 300 offenders who will go to outside medical appointments and making certain that these appointments take place this is where the challenge lies. Similar to many health care operations, the prison Utilization Review / Case Management Department facilitates all external appointments and form the lynchpin between the correctional facility health care providers who refer offenders for specialty appointments, and the outside organization providing that appointment.

Your assignment: You are the Case Coordinator. You have 300 patients that need to be scheduled for outside specialty appointments every month. You are tasked by the Administrator to develop a strategic plan organizing the out of the facility appointments without impairing internal services.

Science and social studies can seem very abstract to early childhood students. Because of this, it is important for early childhood educators to model and teach effective questioning and observation techniques as integral parts of inquiry-based learning and discovery. This education begins by creating a classroom environment where the students can ask questions, make observations, and explore the world around them based on their own curiosities.

Use the “Classroom Architect” to design a classroom map that encourages inquiry-based learning in both science and social studies for young children within your selected grade. Consider how classroom visuals, resources, and materials can be placed in the classroom environment to support science and social studies during daily learning. Label your map to include materials, furniture, and other visual wall design elements that foster an inquiry-based learning environment focused on science and social studies.

As you design your classroom, consider the following:

  • Classroom layout (desks and/or tables, carpet/floor space, chairs, etc.)
  • Resources and technological tools, and where they will be located.
  • Traffic flow consistent with age-appropriate physical and social development.
  • Learning centers (layout, cooperative and independent, considerations for all learning styles and abilities, inclusivity, etc.)
  • Storage and display furnishings (tables, chairs, shelves, etc.)

Write a 500-750 word explanation of the classroom map that answers the following:

  • What is your rationale for choosing and arranging the objects in the learning environment (consider wall décor and floor space)?
  • How do you foster diversity, openness, creativity, and a social interactive learning  environment in your classroom?
  • How does your classroom design encourage inquiry, discovery, active problem solving, and making real-world connections for the students?
  • How does a well-designed classroom environment help focus attention, engage students in the curriculum, and provide options for meeting individual interests and learning needs?

APA format is not required, but solid academic writing is expected.
