Health services organizations place and price decisions

Your third assignment will be an analysis of the place and price decisions of a health services organization. You might have to seek out some information on the organization by visiting its website, or if it is an employer interviewing someone who has knowledge of the pricing and distribution decisions.  After you have completed your research, answer each of the following questions in turn following all the general guidelines or written assignments posted in the syllabus.

  1. Brief overview of the organizations service/products and a description of their target market.  This is important to ensure that your analysis considers the needs of the target market in evaluating their pricing and channel decisions.
  2. How do you think the organization arrives at its price?  Refer to the Week 6 Overview for a framework of some of the pricing considerations and discuss those that appear relevant to your organization.
  3. Do you think the pricing strategy is appropriate?  Can it be improved to better meet its customer’s needs?
  4. Is the organization hindered or helped in their pricing decisions by government or payer restrictions.  If so, how do these restrictions impact their pricing strategy?
  5. What kind of value delivery network does the organization employ, e.g. horizontal or vertical, and what is their distribution strategy, e.g. exclusive, intensive or intensive? What factors influence the distribution strategies of this organization?  Are they customer-focused?   If possible, outline all of the channel members and what function they perform to serve the customer?
  6. Can you recommend any changes to the value delivery network that would serve customer needs better?

The resource I believe will be most useful to me is the Center for Writing Excellence. The resource has templates and examples to use for your guide. The one resource I feel I will use the most within this is the Writing & Style information. I am not the best at putting my thoughts on paper. The APA templates and samples will help with structing the paper in the proper format. This will help me with my writing style and citing sources. There is also a thesis statement development assistant. The Plagiarism tool will be helpful as you are using sources for your papers you want to make sure that you do not plagiarize and give credit as required.

There is also a Grammarly tool that can be purchased with a discount 6.00 monthly cost. I have used Grammarly before and I really like it. It checks for plagiarism and grammatic errors. Also, provides examples on how to restructure a sentence and help it make better sense to the reader.

There are a lot of resources at our disposable.

Measuring Progress and Requirements

The Recreation and Wellness Intranet Project team is working hard to ensure that the new system they develop meets expectations. The team has a detailed scope statement, but the project manager, Tony Prince, wants to make sure they’re not forgetting requirements that might affect how people view the quality of the project. He knows that the project’s sponsor and other senior managers are most concerned with getting people to use the system, improve their health, and reduce healthcare costs. Users want the system to be user-friendly, informative, fun to use, and fast.

Complete the following in a Microsoft Word document.

Develop a list of 6 quality standards or requirements related to meeting the stakeholder expectations described in the Running Case.

Write a 45- to 90-word brief description of each requirement. For example, a requirement might be that 90 percent of employees have logged into the system within 2 weeks after the system rolls out.

Write a 175-word explanation based on the list of standards and requirements on how you will measure progress on meeting the requirements. For example, you might have employees log into the system as part of the training program and track who attends the training. You could also build a feature into the system to track usage by username, department, and other criteria. Support your answer with 1 credible source outside of the course materials.

You should review and critique the work of other students as outlined in the expanded rubric by the end of the week.

Discussion Question Part I

Select one of the scenarios listed below and explain the best solution for each. Include comments related to any ethical issues that arise. You should locate at least one scholarly source from the SUO Library or one case that has been decided or is currently pending to support your answer.

Scenario 1 – Corporate Formation and Shareholder Liability

Powers is the sole shareholder and invested $2,500 in the company as a capital contribution. R.P. Properties, Inc. purchased 4 houses using a $600,000 loan obtained from the bank. Powers planned to fix up the homes a little and give renters a break on the rent if they agreed to do some repairs. R.P. Properties skipped several mortgage payments on the houses even though his tenants paid the rent. R.P. Properties is no longer able to pay its bills. As one of R.P. Properties’ creditors, you seek to hold Powers personally liable for the debts of the company.

Nick suggests that they hire Tracy to join the partnership because he is younger and could pick up the work Mitch was doing. Nick and Mitch currently operate as a general partnership. When the partners talk with Tracy, he suggests that he would like to become a full partner.

  • How would you advise Nick and Mitch when they come to you for advice about the best type of business organization for their landscaping business? Explain your reasoning.

Consider at least one limited liability option in your response, such as the LLC or LLP.
