Consider what you would do to get an interview with a person currently employed in the occupation you are considering. Describe how you would carry out a “Design Interview” to further understand the nature of this occupation and to penetrate the hidden job market (i.e. how you would go about contacting the person, location of interview, purpose of interview, 3 examples of questions you might ask, how would you penetrate the hidden job).

5. What three (3) action steps can you take within the next two months to find out more about this occupation, the education and experience it requires and what is currently happening within this occupation in your city, province or country?

Discussion 1: Looking From a Theoretical Lens Perspective

The language of qualitative research can be confusing. The words sound like regular English, but they have very particular meanings. To make the language even more complicated, the definitions can vary across different qualitative methodological scholars.

For the purpose of this course, distinctions between two important concepts should be considered:

  1. Theoretical framework: the use of constructs and propositions a recognized theory (or theories) to a research problem, purpose, and question.
    • Examples: Social Influence theory, transformational leadership theory, game theory
  2. Conceptual framework: the construction of ideas, assumptions, and beliefs sourced in both the literature and one’s own experience, which identify the main concepts that guide the formulation of the research problem, purpose, and question.
    • Examples: Concepts from positive psychology, mindfulness meditation, language development models

To prepare for this Discussion:

  • Review the Learning Resources related to the use of a theoretical or conceptual framework to guide the examination of a research problem in qualitative research.

ASSIGNMENT:

Post an explanation of the role of a theoretical or conceptual framework in qualitative research and provide examples from the resources you read. Use proper APA format and citations to support your post.

MHA510 Case/Module 2 Case-ORGANIZATIONAL BEHAVIOR

Required Readings is located at the bottom of the homework assignment

According to Brokowski (2016), “organizational behavior is an applied behavioral science that emerged from the disciplines of psychology, sociology, anthropology, political science, and economics” (pg. 3). Why is organizational behavior important to you as a health care leader? The U.S. health care system employs over 18 million individuals of various departments and sectors (Brokowski, 2016). Each department and sector has a diverse structure, which makes it vital that health care leaders possess the skills to communicate effectively with, motivate, and lead diverse groups of people within a large, dynamic, and complex industry (Brokowski, 2016).

Ch. 1 & 2 Laboratory Assignment: Rabbit and Wolves Simulation

  1. Run 1 – Run the starting simulation with the default or starting parameters. Run for 200 iterations (you see the number of iterations when you open the population graph). Record the “cumulative statistics”, and describe the lines on the population graph for each of the three organisms (rabbit, wolf, grass) (if you know how to do a “print screen” then copy the graph to a word processing document so you can include it in your report.. This is RUN 1. Run the simulation three more times changing the variables as noted below:
  2. Run 2 – Now, let’s adjust the wolf parameters to investigate the influence of wolf number on the system.  Start with 0 wolves (change the start up parameters). Run for 200 iteration. Record the cumulative statistics and copy the graph if you can.
  3. Run 3 – Let’s adjust the grass perimeters to see how that influences the system. You can either a) Cut the initial grass value in half, or b)Double the initial grass growth rate. Run for 200 iterations. Record the cumulative statistics and copy the graph if you can.
  4. Run 4 – In run 4, you set up the parameters to whatever you see fit. Change any parameters you wish. Record your parameter changes and let the program run for 200 iterations. Record the cumulative statistics and copy the graph if you can.

Music Analysis on Cherry Pink and Apple Blossom White (4:08)

Analysis

The principles of unity & variety apply to all music, regardless of compositional style or historical period.

Now that you are familiar with the concepts in the first section of the course (Basic Musical Concepts), and you have seen how they work on different pieces of music, try your hand, mouse, and ears at how they operate in a music selection that you may not have heard yet.

Cherry Pink and Apple Blossom White (4:08)

Your analysis should include:

  1. The number of different musical ideas you hear in the piece (can we say that there are two ideas A and B? Or is there only one?)
  2. The timings (start and stop times) of the different sections of the piece. (Hint: Listen for changes in musical ideas and timbre, or for points when one instrument gives way to another.)
  3. How the following elements contribute to unity and variety in the sections you identified (give timings):
    • Dynamics: Where does the music get louder or softer? Is there any apparent reason for those changes?
    • Timbre: Where do different instruments take over the melody?
    • Pitch: What is the general pitch level of the piece? Are there wide variations in pitch level?
  4. Although there are sections that feature one instrument over others, do you think this is a piece for a solo performer or for an ensemble?
  5. List of the characteristics of the musical style closest to the one this piece exemplifies. (Hint: Revisit the class titled Folk Music, Art Music, and All That Jazz)
  6. Do you think this piece serves (or could serve) a specific purpose?
  7. Does this piece have any specific connotation(s) for you?

Plea Bargaining: Justice or Injustice

Plea bargaining is a fixture in the American Criminal justice system. A lot of work can go into a properly constructed plea bargain, but to some it may seem like the easy way out. The written assignment this week is for you to thoroughly discuss the pros and cons of the plea bargain as used in the American court system, and to describe why the plea bargain is used so often, the mechanics of how a plea bargain comes about, and what some of the positive and negative outcomes of using it are.

For reference material, use at least your text and two or more of the following sources, and remember to identify passages in your essay where you are quoting, paraphrasing, or summarizing as well as the source you are using:

·  Justice Department of United States Government

·  Department of Homeland Security

·  National Institute of Justice

·  National Criminal Justice Reference Services

·  Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI)

Your paper must be formatted in the following manner:

·  The paper must be in essay format. Only the body of the paper counts towards the length. No information that belongs on a title page or reference page will count towards the length requirement.

·  Use Times New Roman 12 point font, and double-space your lines.

Module 04 Course Project – Writing Compliance Procedures

Module 04 Content

  1. As a continuation to examining your policies, review for procedures that may relate to them.
    • In a 4-page paper, describe the procedures for each of the two compliance plans. NOTE: procedures are not the same thing as policies. Policies (Module 03) sets the parameters for decision-making, while procedures explains the “how”. The procedures should be step-by-step instructions, and may include a checklist or process steps to follow.
    • Break each procedure section into 2 pages each.
    • Remember to support your procedures for each of two plans with a total of three research sources (1-2 per procedure), cited at the end in APA format.
    • Write your procedures in a way that all employees will understand at a large medical facility where you are the Compliance Officer.
    • Remember, you chose two compliance policy plans under the key compliance areas of Compliance Standards, High-Level Responsibility, Education, Communication, Monitoring/Auditing (for Safety), Enforcement/Discipline, and Response/Prevention. (Check them out if you forget! Remember, you may have written about different policies for the two different compliance plans.)
    • Submit your completed assignment by following the directions linked below. Please check the Course Calendar for specific due dates.

Save your assignment as a Microsoft Word document. (Mac users, please remember to append the “.docx” extension to the filename.) The name of the file should be your first initial and last name, followed by an underscore and the name of the assignment, and an underscore and the date. An example is shown below:

Part 3: Crisis Intervention in Nursing

Scenario:

Everybody is in an uproar at Hometown High School. Somebody did a job with spray cans on the high school. The graffiti looks suspiciously like something you saw at a recent drive- in conference on gangs. Other teachers in the lounge mention the fact that this stuff has also been showing up on buildings around town. While this discussion is going on, the librarian says that she picked up some hard copy dropped beside one of the computers that looks like it might be about some outfit that labels itself “Growth and Development” and its contents seem to be directed toward some kid with the computer screen name “Deaddog.” The contents seem to have something to do with how one goes about establishing a “Growth and Development” chapter in Hometown (hint: the Gangster Disciples camouflage their movements by using words that start with “G” and “D”) and talks about something called “tagging.” The school board has called a special meeting to talk about this problem. You remember that a new kid has come to town from Detroit. He also seems to be wearing his clothes a certain way and constantly has on colors that you vaguely remember the speaker at that gang conference talked about. The new kid has generated quite a following. He seems to have a lot of money, a “kul” car, and a number of kids who are not going to be National Merit Scholars are hangin’ with him.

Using the SARA model

1. Construct a written plan about how you will

a. Scan

b. Analyze

c. Respond

d. Assess the scenario.

Part 4: Crisis Intervention in Nursing

Feelings of bereavement can also accompany other losses, such as the decline of one’s health or the health of a close other, or the end of an important relationship.

1. What are the different type of loss?

2. What are the five stages of Kugler-Ross Model? Explain each of them.

Parts 5, 6, and 7 have the same questions, however, you must answer with references and different writing always addressing them objectively, that is as if you were different students. Similar responses in wording or references will not be accepted.
