Discuss the difference between a nursing conceptual model and a nursing theory.

1 postsRe: Topic 3 DQ 2

A theory, as classically understood, is made up of interrelated concepts. Together these concepts aim to explain why actions or events take place. Nursing theories, also composed of concepts, models, and propositions, seek to explain and guide our thinking and understanding about nursing. In nursing, the four most common and influential concepts are the person, the environment, health, and nursing (2020). Nurses will often choose theories that best align with their way of thinking and their values, ultimately leading to meaningful nursing practice (Smith et al., 2020)

On the other hand, the nursing conceptual model looks at how various concepts relate to each other. Using theories allows us to see alternative effects when variables are changed (2020). As it applies to nursing, the conceptual model can help with research to find solutions to problems in the practice that will lead to improved patient outcomes.

The first know theorist was Florence Nightingale. She formulated the Environmental Theory. As defined in the nursing practice, this theory uses a patient’s environment to aid in healing. Nurses need to arrange factors such as cleanliness, noise, ventilation, light, and nutrition to help re-establish a patient’s health (Gonzalo, 2021). From my experience, nursing units nationwide are designed with the Environmental Theory in mind. For example, to reduce noise levels, my unit installed carpets and designated quiet times. The nursing staff makes sure every patient has a supply of fresh water and appropriate meals. We ensure rooms are clean and free of clutter. Sadly, we see patients being admitted to hospitals because such factors are not in place in their current care settings. Currently, the Corona Virus is a prime example of the application of the Environmental Theory to nursing. With the knowledge that the virus was easily transmissible, it was crucial for staff to maintain patient rooms clean. With this outcome in mind, practices changed, and the staff meticulously cleaned all equipment in between patients, properly donned and doffed personal protective equipment in between patients.

5-2 Milestone Two Submission

Overview

You are excited to see the possibilities after finishing the Business Model Canvas Template. The next step is the development of the BMC slide deck for review by the experienced former project manager mentioned in the Module Four assignment.

Scenario

In the BMC slide deck, you will make educated assumptions (based on research in Marketline, Yahoo Finance, or the company’s website) about your selected company’s resources, partnerships, cost structures (what needs to be paid for), how the product or service will be marketed, value delivery (product sold online, in-store, or both), and the unique value proposition for a specific targeted market segment.

All 9 segments of your redeveloped BMC must encompass elements to achieve new product/service feasibility.

Beyond profitability, other key elements that the experienced project manager stressed were diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), as well as corporate social responsibility (CSR). In the marketplace, companies that have diverse project teams get varied perspectives that help the overall project. Just as important, companies that “give back” to the communities they serve do better and are supported by millennial buyers—a big target segment for many companies.

Financials, DEI, and CSR must be addressed in the funding pitch, which you will complete as your course project, due in Module Seven.

Prompt

You will create a slide deck that will help you expand on your BMC chart in detail as you refine how your selected company will create value for itself while delivering a new product or service for customers. Complete the Milestone Two Template linked in the Guidelines for Submission section for this assignment.

Specifically, you must address the following rubric criteria:

  1. Deliver a unique value proposition.
    1. Leveraging the blue ocean strategy, what makes the product or service unique?
    2. How does it provide a strategic advantage in the marketplace?
  2. Answer key business model questions about the customer.
    1. Customer acquisitions
    2. Revenue models
    3. Price points for the product/service
    4. Key activities for the value proposition (product or service)
  3. Answer key business model questions about assets, partners, and cost.
    1. Assets available
    2. Key partners
    3. Cost structures
  4. Import your existing business model canvas chart from Module Four.
  5. Clarify your business model assumptions.
    1. Check your assumptions
    2. Complete the assumptions chart
  6. Prepare to meet customers.
    1. Highlight the materials needed
  7. Update your documentation.
    1. Targeted segment
    2. Type of value delivered
    3. How the product is unique
  8. Update your business model.
    1. Complete any updates to the BMC chart

power point assignment and paper for business management due by midnight tonight central time Help!!!!

Overview

In this assignment, you will evaluate a current organizational structure and recommend structural changes that can help address the concerns the organization identified regarding collaboration, communication, and autonomy.

Scenario

You work for an organization that has traditionally been very formalized, and managers have had a very broad span of control over direct reports from multiple departments and functions. This worked well in the past; managers were able to oversee a high number of direct reports because there were many rules and regulations dictating how their work should be performed. However, there were downsides. Employee talent was underused, and there wasn’t a strong team culture, as most work was done independently according to standard operating processes.

Recently, the organization has been shifting to less formalized working structures to support more creative, innovative work and provide employees with more autonomy. While employees are happy with the purpose of these new changes, managers are feeling overwhelmed, and employees are feeling undersupported. This has impacted function-specific work the most, because in the past, managers didn’t need to understand in-depth, function-specific tasks (such as the technical aspects of graphic design work or the intricacies of project management). Instead, they had the ability to rely on rules, regulations, and standard operating processes. Employees have also noticed a lack of communication around current projects, which has led to a lack of updated information and duplicated work across management teams.

You have been asked to work with the human resources department to recommend a new organizational structure that addresses these identified management and communication concerns.

Prompt

Use the Module Six Assignment Template located in the Guidelines for Submission section to create an updated organizational structure chart for the organization. Then, in a separate Word document, write a brief explanation for your recommended changes and how they will impact both organizational communication and overall team dynamics.

Specifically, you must address the following rubric criteria:

  • Updated Organizational Structure Chart: Create an updated organizational structure chart that addresses management and communication concerns.
  • Explanation of Changes: Explain your reasoning for why you made the changes you did to the company’s organizational structure. Include how your changes differ from the original and why you believe they would benefit the organization.
  • Impact on Organizational Communication: Describe the impact these changes will have on the company’s overall organizational communication.
  • Impact on Team Communication: Describe the impact these changes will have on the company’s overall team communication and reporting structure.

Guidelines for Submission

Submit your completed Module Six Assignment Template as a PPT file. Submit your separate, written submission as a 2- to 3-page Word document with 12-point Times New Roman font, double spacing, and one-inch margins.

A text-only version of the template is available: Module Six Assignment Template Text-Only Version. If you use this template, submit it as a Word file.

Math Final

·  All questions must include workings and a reasoned answer, not just the final number.

Task content:

 Read the following context;

Our company has been mainly producing parts for cars with combustion engines. We are facing a challenging time. Potential shifting trends towards electric automobiles had apparently caused a reduction in our demand, that has been decreasing during the last years. In order to adapt to the future circumstances, the following different scenarios are being considered:

§  Changing the production line to adapt to the electric automobile market.

§  Investing in different projects to adapt to the new situation.

§  Selling the company before facing severe losses.

Question 1

We were considering adapting our production line, in order to produce some parts for electric automobiles, this way, and after analyzing the possible market opportunities, we could expect to obtain net revenues of $50,000 per month for at least the next 12 years.

a)  What is the maximum that we should invest on this project if we consider a cost of capital of 4%?

b)  If we ask for a loan of 5,000,000 at an annual interest rate of 1% compounded quarterly, to be paid in 10 years, how much would you have to pay every quarter to cover the loan?

Question 2

There was another option on the table; a potential client has offered the possibility to sign a contract, starting in 4 years, with a duration of 8 years (so it will produce 8 payments), to purchase a specific part that we can produce, but that will require a total reconversion of the whole factory. This contract is signed for annual revenues of $800,000. To do this, we must replace the machinery and the production plant must be reconverted.

a)  What is the maximum amount of money we could afford to invest if we want a profitability of at least 5%?

b)  If we ask for a loan to be paid back in 5 years in constant equal monthly payments of $40,000, how much will we pay in total for the loan?

 Question 3

After these previous calculations, the project still requires a big initial investment, and other options are being considered. Another project, that consists of just readjusting some parts to adapt them to assemble to electric cars, would produce net revenues of $200,000 per year, for 10 years. Assuming that these revenues will grow at a constant 1% per year, and are assessed at a cost of capital of 2,5%:

a)  Would it still be profitable if it required an initial investment of $1,500,000?

b)  If we take these annual revenues of $200,000 growing at a 1% per year, and we invest them in a bank account that offers an annual rate of 5% for 10 years, how much will we have at the end?

Question 4

Finally, there is a last consideration:

a)  Selling the company: Considering that our plant produces annual cashflows of $260,000 decreasing at a 0,8% annual, expected to last for many years, for how much should we value the company today if investors are willing to obtain a profitability of 4%?

—- It assesses the following learning outcomes:

·  to assess the present value of future cash flows and the future value of regular savings, annually and periodically

·  to understand the perpetuity and annuity valuation and their factors – annual and periodical – and with various starting dates with and without growth

·  to assess the future revenue generation of a regular savings scheme and the amount needed to be saved over time to meet a future series of payments

·  to understand the process of investments appraisal and projects classification

·  to determine percentage calculations and discounting

Case Study-2pages

Instructions

You have assumed the head leadership position over a small department within a public sector agency. You have inherited a small but diverse team of employees.

Your staff consists of the following individuals:

Melanie has been with the organization for close to 10 years and spends much of her day surfing social media sites. She enjoys her job for the perceived job security and benefits but has little interest in pushing herself for additional monetary gain. When confronted about her social media use and lack of a desire to advance herself, she complains that she does not have anyone to “look up to” within the organization.

Patrick is the most senior employee. Although he has an excellent record, he is going through a very difficult divorce and is only about one year away from retirement. He has become increasingly preoccupied with these matters. Regardless, having previously served in the military and having worked public service for his entire professional life, he expects much out of himself and has expressed a keen desire to involve himself with your managerial decision-making processes as soon as he is able to sort out some of his home issues.

Tom, the newest employee, is fresh out of college. He is young and energetic, although not a week goes by where you do not catch him browsing salary surveys or private sector job listings; nevertheless, he is an overly productive employee, and he confides in you that he is worried that he is producing much more than his salary seems to reflect. He also questions the impact that the organization’s work and his own work, in particular, are actually having on anyone.

To complete this assignment, you will need address the components below.

  • Develop a concise motivation profile on each of the staff members.
  • Correlate motivational theories to this real-world scenario.
  • Summarize leadership strategies related to such aspects as work life stages, expected responses to rewards and punishments, and the degree to which followers feel they fit the ideal motivation mold of public sector employees.
  • Consider how not being mindful of appropriate leadership strategies can be harmful to organizations.

Your case study findings and recommendations must be at least two pages in length, be double spaced, and be written in 12-point Times New Roman font.

Week 3 pharm

The practice of using herbal supplements dates back thousands of years. Today, there is a renewal in the use of herbal supplements among American consumers. However, herbal supplements are not for everyone. In fact, some herbal products may cause problems for people treatments for chronic ailments. Because they are not subject to scrutiny by the FDA or other governing agencies, the use of herbal supplements is controversial.

Herbal supplements are products made from plants for use in the treatment and management of certain diseases and medical conditions. Many prescription drugs and over-the-counter medicines are also made from plant derivatives. These products contain only purified ingredients and, unlike herbal supplements, are closely regulated by the FDA. Herbal supplements may contain entire plants or plant parts. Herbal supplements come in all forms: dried, chopped, powdered, capsule, or liquid, and can be used in various ways.

Please address the following:

  • Discuss advantages and disadvantages of dietary supplements, including adverse reactions, drug-drug interactions, drug-food interactions, and specific laboratory issues that may arise from using these products.
  • Discuss the position of the FDA and other governmental agencies on over the counter herbal supplements. Support your post with at least 2 evidenced-based guidelines published within the last 5 years.

week 1 project PM

Defining the Project

Using the South University Online Library, research any project of your choice. You may use the project you chose for the week 1 discussion as long as it meets the criteria listed below.

The project you select must meet the following criteria:

It must fit the definition of a project as described in the PMBOK® Guide glossary and text.

An explanation of the role projects play in the strategic management process.

How are projects linked to the strategic plan?

An explanation of the impact of classifying projects as either compliance, strategic, or operations projects.

An explanation as to why return on investment (ROI) should not be the sole metric used to choose projects.

A discussion of the pros and cons of the checklist versus the weighted factor method of selecting projects.

Provide your answers in a 3 page Microsoft Word document, using APA style.

Support your responses with examples and research.
