You will want your position paper to demonstrate critical thinking, sound logic, valid claims, personal passion, and credible support that is cited correctly.

Write a two to three (2-3) page (700 to 1,200 words) paper in which you:

Topic to be written about:  Copyright laws protect rights of creative independent artists against a large corrupt music industry

  1. Introduce your position using a thesis statement in the first paragraph, including a quote, question, or statistic from your reliable sources and an overview of the main points you will cover. (It’s important to grab the audience’s interest and inform them of what the main and support points are.)
  2. Provide three or four (3-4) major points to support your thesis statement. (Put each major point in a separate paragraph.)
  3. Provide one (1) paragraph in which you identify and answer an expected argument against your view.
  4. Organized arguments and support for claims effectively.
  5. Demonstrate personal passion for your position and critical thinking with persuasive language, sound logic, valid claims, and credible support for the claims.
  6. Provide two to three (2-3) credible and reliable references (in addition to the text) about current events, which have been published in the last five (5) years and are cited correctly in the position paper. (Wikipedia is not an acceptable source.) No page headers.

Your assignment must follow these formatting requirements:

  • Be typed, double spaced, using Times New Roman font (size 12), with one-inch margins on all sides; citations and references must follow APA. Check with your professor for any additional instructions.
  • Include a cover page containing the title of the assignment, the student’s name, the professor’s name, the course title, and the date. The cover page and the reference page are not included in the required assignment page length.

Math302 final project

Final Project Assignment Instructions

Scenario Background:

A marketing company based out of New York City is doing well and is looking to expand internationally. The CEO and VP of Operations decide to enlist the help of a consulting firm that you work for, to help collect data and analyze market trends.

You work for Mercer Human Resources. The Mercer Human Resource Consulting website lists prices of certain items in selected cities around the world. They also report an overall cost-of-living index for each city compared to the costs of hundreds of items in New York City (NYC). For example, London at 88.33 is 11.67% less expensive than NYC.

More specifically, if you choose to explore the website further you will find a lot of fun and interesting data. You can explore the website more on your own after the course concludes.

https://mobilityexchange.mercer.com/Insights/ cost-of-living-rankings#rankings

Assignment Guidance:

In the Excel document, you will find the 2018 data for 17 cities in the data set Cost of Living. Included are the 2018 cost of living index, cost of a 3-bedroom apartment (per month), price of monthly transportation pass, price of a mid-range bottle of wine, price of a loaf of bread (1 lb.), the price of a gallon of milk and price for a 12 oz. cup of black coffee. All prices are in U.S. dollars.

You use this information to run a Multiple Linear Regression to predict Cost of living, along with calculating various descriptive statistics. This is given in the Excel output (that is, the MLR has already been calculated. Your task is to interpret the data).

Based on this information, in which city should you open a second office in? You must justify your answer. If you want to recommend 2 or 3 different cities and rank them based on the data and your findings, this is fine as well.

Deliverable Requirements:

This should be ¾ to 1 page, no more than 1 single-spaced page in length, using 12-point Times New Roman font. You do not need to do any calculations, but you do need to pick a city to open a second location at and justify your answer based upon the provided results of the Multiple Linear Regression.

The format of this assignment will be an Executive Summary. Think of this assignment as the first page of a much longer report, known as an Executive Summary, that essentially summarizes your findings briefly and at a high level. This needs to be written up neatly and professionally. This would be something you would present at a board meeting in a corporate environment. If you are unsure of an Executive Summary, this resource can help with an overview. What is an Executive Summary?

Things to Consider:

To help you make this decision here are some things to consider:

Based on the MLR output, what variable(s) is/are significant?
From the significant predictors, review the mean, median, min, max, Q1 and Q3 values?
It might be a good idea to compare these values to what the New York value is for that variable. Remember New York is the baseline as that is where headquarters are located.
Based on the descriptive statistics, for the significant predictors, what city has the best potential?
What city or cities fall are below the median?
What city or cities are in the upper 3rd quartile

NSG 505 policy media discussion

Choose a source of media information written about a health policy issue; you can use any form of media discussed this week in the classroom theory. Critique the information using criteria presented in determining an unbiased source.

Please use APA format and at least 200 words, no source less than 5 years old

Media Tools

The use of media to influence policy and politics in any environment is familiar in today’s society. The shift from radio, film, and television to social media has had significant impact on political campaigns and advancing policy and agendas with the public and policy makers.  Health promotion is portrayed by the media to consumers in 3 ways:

  1. Public education;
  2. Social marketing; and
  3. Media advocacy.

What is the best use of media for promoting health and advocating for the development of policy and effective politics in healthcare? Nurses are experts at vetting for appropriate use of media to deliver their messages in healthcare. Nurses solicit unbiased information which can be used for taking political stands on policy issues. A comprehensive assessment is required of media sources using the same principles for determining quality of patient education materials. Prior to taking a stand based upon particular information on a policy issue, one must ask the following:

  1. What is the medium for the delivery of the message? Is it a credible site?
  2. Who is sending the message? Why?
  3. What is the message, and what rhetoric is used? Is there a  “spin doctor” behind the scene?
  4. Is the message effective in the presentation? and
  5. Is the message accurate? (Mason et al., 2016, p.132-134)

Opinion editorials (op eds.), talk radio, and blogs are methods which can be used to communicate responses to media generated information. Resources are available on effective steps to approach in communicating one’s response to a media outlet for influencing a public agenda. Box 12-3 outlines Guidelines for Getting Your Message Across and Using Social Media.

Communication and Health Policy and Politics

Communication, both verbal and nonverbal, is vital to successful influence for advancing policy initiatives. Persuasion is a powerful activity, which is most effective with savvy communication skills.

Some skills nursing professionals can apply to improve communication effectiveness in person include:

  1. First impressions;
  2. Attire;
  3. Making conversation;
  4. Etiquette;
  5. Networking in person;
  6. Business cards; and
  7. Brief biography (Mason et al., 2016).

Nonverbal communication occurs through our physical demeanor and includes body language and nonverbal cues such as eye contact and body position. The phases of conversation are outlined in Mason et al.(2016), p. 95. These phases are critical to understand for successful communication and impacting health policy and politics.

Alternative Dispute Resolution

During conflict, appropriate communication skills are very important in trying to achieve peaceful resolution of the inherent issues at hand. Strategies for preparation of effective communication are outlined on page 78 of Mason et al. Daily preparation in your workplace can enhance your ability to strategically communicate as a leader in nursing. Key principles are outlined in Chapter 9 which can be applied starting now as you are on this journey to advancing your knowledge on skills at a graduate nursing level.

Con Law Help 2

The state of East Masshampshire is suffering through a fiscal crisis. Last year, the state ran a budget deficit of $34 billion, which constituted 15% of all state spending. State legislators are concerned that without dramatic reduction in spending, the state will not be able to pay for basic services and debt service on its interest within a couple of years.

Therefore, the state passes a series of austerity regulations to cut spending. Among these regulations are the following:

Section 7. Limitation of healthcare services to United States citizens. Commencing on January 1 of the year following the passage of this bill, no person shall be eligible to receive state subsidized health insurance under any health insurance program administered by the state unless he or she satisfactorily proves that he or she is a citizen of the United States.

Section 12. Residency requirements for eligibility for state programs. No person shall be eligible to participate in any state subsidized benefits program unless he or she satisfactorily proves that he or she has been a resident of the state of East Masshampshire for at least 24 of the 36 months prior to his or her application.

Pedro is a lawful permanent resident in the state of East Masshampshire who was born in Mexico and immigrated to Texas seven years ago. He moved to East Masshampshire only three months ago.

Pedro is considering filing an action in federal court, challenging the regulations above, based on the following arguments:

1) Pedro contends that Section 7 is unconstitutional because it discriminates against him based on his status as a non-US citizen.

2) Pedro also contends that Section 12 is unconstitutional because of its residency requirement. He is not sure exactly what the logic behind this challenge might be, but he has a feeling there may be something challengeable about this provision.

3) Pedro further shows, using a reliable statistical study, that both Section 7 and Section 12 will have a far greater impact on people of Mexican descent then it will on other people, because many people of Mexican descent in the state have recently immigrated to the United States and are not yet citizens. He therefore claims that both rules are a violation of equal protection.

The state of East Masshampshire defends all three challenges by stating that their laws were not intended to discriminate against anybody, but they are merely necessary to balance the state budget, which is a fiscal necessity.

Analyze all three of Pedro claims based on the equal protection and/or due process clauses of the United States Constitution. Please make sure to use appropriate case law in furthering your arguments.

Need to include 2 case laws and 2 statutes

Powerpoint due !!!!

As the first notable work of cyberpunk fiction, Neuromancer creates a “feeling of transformed reality, where a new vocabulary is required to describe how perception itself has been changed by computers” (Mullan, 2014).

Many readers struggle with Gibson’s descriptions, and many are lost because of his vocabulary.  Your challenge is to create a mini-guide, using Gibson’s descriptions and vocabulary, to introduce new readers to the novel.

In a 10-slide PowerPoint presentation plus title and reference slides, share a few of Gibson’s descriptions, and try to complement them with images that bring them to life for your audience. Review pp. 10-12 in The College Writer to help you think more critically about how imagery can be used to communicate.  In the notes section for each slide, explain why you chose the descriptions and the images.  For those slides detailing the vocabulary, provide definitions in the notes sections.

This is your chance to be creative.  Also, if you have been struggling with the novel, this exercise may help you gain a deeper appreciation for the world Gibson creates through his use of description.

 Hello everyone

     My career goals are to work with law enforcement on the missing and trafficking of children. That has been my goal before I started school and will be something I will continue to work at. I would like to gain some experience in Parole and or probation. After looking at the video with James Plank about his experiences with being a parole officer I was interested in working with parolees who are sex offenders to gain knowledge of why and how they do what they do. That could help me in the fight against predators. James Park explained the good and the bad with the job. I was able to get an understanding of some of the things that would be required of me.

A family member works with juveniles that are only females in a transition house. She has explained the ups and downs of working directly with juveniles. She mentioned that it’s hard not to allow your emotions to get involved when they are in group sessions. The stories and past of many of the young girls can be hard to hear. She can understand how they end up in trouble and wished they had more programs for girls. I don’t want to necessarily work directly with children as she does, I would rather work on their behalf by catching the predator or stopping big rings of trafficking.

I enjoyed the class and learned a lot! I struggled sometimes with finishing on time but I always seem to manage. I appreciate the feedback and encouraging words from you Professor Camero and I enjoyed the discussions with my classmates. I wish everyone the best on their journey and to be safe!
