Explain how disparities relative to ethnic and cultural groups may contribute to low birth weight babies. Identify one support service within your community to assist with preterm infants and their families and explain how the service adequately

1 DQ 1

A premature baby is one who is born before 37 weeks of pregnancy. Low birth weight (< 2.5 kg) and is an indication of health and development of infants in their lifetime. The rate of low birth weight is on the rise and is challenging to public health. Preventing low birth weight needs to be prioritized in the National Health Strategy. Prematurity effects close to 4000,000 babies that are born in the United States. Low birth weight babies can often face complexed setbacks and are faced with substantially increased risk concerns. (Islam, M. 2020).

The effects on a family and a community related to low birth weights consists of financial burdens, loss wages, feelings of detachment to the infant and anxiety. There are many health concerns associated with premature babies both short and long term. The short-term effects include breathing problems (respiratory distress syndrome), cardiac problems (patent ductus arteriosus), brain disorders (bleeds), temperature control (hypothermia), gastrointestinal disorders (necrotizing enterocolitis), metabolic disorders(hypoglycemia), blood disorders (anemia and jaundice), and immune system problems (infection/ sepsis). All these setbacks require extended hospital stays. (Mahurin, J. 2021). Long term health issues include attention deficit/hyperactivity (ADHD), poor academic performance, delayed development, impaired learning, vision issues, and are a higher risk for sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS). Both in early childhood and in the pre-adolescence stages these babies score lower on standardizes test. (Mahurin, J. 2021).

Ongoing care for preterm babies also poses financial burdens on both the family and society, these infants will require much long-term care depending on the degree of the deficit and the equipment needed to care for them. In the United States the rate of preterm births differs among racial/ethnic groups, the largest and most disparities occur between non-Hispanic blacks, and non-Hispanic whites and is associated with gaps in chronic health issues throughout life. The level of education along with occupation reflect genetics, environment, and other social factors. (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention,2019, October 21).

In my community The March of Dimes has helped millions of infants to survive and thrive. The March of Dimes has partnered with other organizations on the local and state levels and provides services to women and their families the goal of The March of Dimes is to promote the health of mothers and babies through education on the importance of early prenatal care, reducing premature births and other poor outcomes. They also provide support for babies in the NICU. Local chapters of The March of Dimes offer programs geared towards specific populations to address disparities and improve the equity in their communities. (March of Dimes, 2019, October).

Product Life Cycle

Scenario: You currently work as the marketing manager of your favorite company/organization and manage the success of one of its products or services. Your responsibility is to monitor the stages of the Product Life Cycle (PLC) and adjust the marketing strategies as needed for your product to thrive for as long as possible. At each stage, you assess changes you need to make to the product, price strategy, as well as competition and profit.

Create a 10- to 20-slide (not counting cover slide or reference slide) Microsoft® PowerPoint®presentation with speaker’s notes covering the following criteria:

  • Develop a slide setting the theme and goals of the presentation.
  • Define and discuss the PLC concept and its importance to marketing managers.
  • Define and discuss what role pricing strategy has in marketing and how marketing mangers decide what strategy to use.
  • Describewhat company/organization and product/service you are using.
  • Create one slide for each of the four stages of the PLC describing the stage and analyzes the implications each stage may have on price strategy, product, competition, and profit for your selected product/service. Use the product/service you selected to illustrate each stage as it is discussed with original examples.
  • Discuss the reasoning behind why the PLC is important to marketing managers and share examples of possible implications if it is not monitored.

Cite a minimum of two peer-reviewed sources with one coming from the textbook or the University Library. Use in-text citations in the presentation slides and speaker’s notes to demonstrate your research.

BYOD

In Section 1, you will provide the specifications of your personal BYOD computing device. In Section 2, you will provide a brief description/explanation of the specifications of your device. You will learn about the specifications and capabilities of your machine in the process.

This task will require you to investigate your machine’s internals. How you locate your system information will vary by operating system.

Include a screenshot showing key system information.

How Will My Work Be Evaluated?

For this assignment, you are asked to complete the Hudson Fisher Associates (HFA) Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) Registration Form to ensure your device meets the organization’s minimum information technology (IT) baseline specifications and security requirements. The first part of the assignment requires you to access and document your machine’s specifications. In the second part, you will provide explanatory details on the specifications.

By documenting your specifications and explaining your results in an effective narrative format, you are showing how you use your technical knowledge to convey your ideas to others in a professional setting. Your ability to express your findings using the right mix of technical detail in a business context is an important workplace skill.

The following evaluation criteria aligned to the competencies will be used to grade your assignment:

  • 1.4.2: Use vocabulary appropriate for the discipline, genre, and intended audience.
  • 2.3.2: Incorporate relevant evidence to support the position.
  • 3.1.1: Identify quantitative information that is relevant to a problem or situation.
  • 10.1.2: Gather project requirements to meet stakeholder needs.
  • 12.8.1: Recognize the process to obtain approval from the business process owner.

Five-Step Strategic Management Plan/Analysis

This document outlines the five-stage plan around which this course is designed, and which will be used as a general template for your strategic analysis for your final project. You are encouraged to review this document in each module to reflect on how that module’s material will apply to your paper, and make this a work-in-progress. The notes in each section should serve as a guide to you as you apply the concepts learned to your paper.

Step I. Corporate Mission and Goals

Introduction – Give a brief history of the background and evolution of the organization and provide its mission, vision etc. Include a discussion of the general structure, leadership style, culture, hierarchy, etc. (~2 pgs.)

Statement of Issues – If there are any strategic challenges the organization faced recently, is facing now, or might face in the very near future identify them here. Also consider whether or not it has it reached any significant milestones. If there is a specific “problem (or opportunity) statement” that can be stated, do it in this section. You can then wrap the paper up by addressing how you feel the problem (or opportunity) should be addressed in your recommendation(s) to conclude the paper. (1-2 pgs.)

Step II. External Analysis (total 2-3 pages)

Consider factors such as:

What is the competitive structure of the industry?

What is the rivalry like?

What is the industry like at this time?

Is this a global industry, and if so, are we a global competitor?

Two “tools” will be utilized to accomplish this: the SWOT analysis and the Porter 5-Force models.

The Porter 5-Force Model consists of:

1. Potential Competitors

2. Rivalry Amongst Competitors

3. Bargaining Power of Buyers

4. Bargaining Power of Suppliers

5. Threat of Substitute Products

Remember that the stronger any force is, the more difficult it is to raise prices and increase profits.

Step III. Internal Analysis (total ~2-3 pgs)

Consider factors such as:

What are the organization’s resources?

What are the core competencies?

Are they helping the organization achieve a competitive advantage?

Again we will utilize two “tools” for this analysis: the SWOT analysis and consider the 4-building blocks of competitive advantage to accomplish this.

The four building blocks of competitive advantage consist of:

  • Efficiency
  • Quality
  • Innovation
  • Customer      responsiveness

Step IV. Strategy Formulation (four strategic decisions) (total 3-4 pgs)

How can the organization build on its strengths to take advantage of its opportunities?

How can it mitigate threats by minimizing its weaknesses?

There should be 4 components to this section:

A. Functional strategy—How does the organizational behavior, structure and culture play a role in the success (or lack of success) of the organization? How good is the synergy between the “functional” operations (e.g., manufacturing, marketing, operations, R & D, HR, etc

B. Business-level strategy—What is the organization’s competitive “theme”?

Cost

Differentiation

Niche (focus)

C. Corporate strategy—How has the organization survived (assuming its been around awhile!) and what needs to be done to exist and remain stable or reach its growth plans long term? Consider factors such as:

Vertical Integration

Backward

Forward

Diversification

Alliances

Acquisitions

D. Global strategy—Is the organization part of a global industry and if so is it a global “player”?

Consider whether or not the organization has pursued:

Exporting

Outsourcing

Licensing

Alliances

Joint Ventures

Etc….

Step V. Strategy Implementation

In a true strategic plan managers would, at this point, be challenged to make decisions pertaining to building (or rebuilding) and structuring (or restructuring) the organization and making sure it is pursuing core competencies in order to maximize its chances of succeeding (basically this means taking the “decisions” made in Step IV and executing them) allocation and deployment of resources. Decisions must be made regarding integration and control systems, etc.

While we will touch on these concepts in Modules VI and VII for the purpose of your paper (since you are tasked with a strategic analysis format) we will substitute a Recommendation for Step V, as outlined below:

Recommendation(s) (total ~1 page)

Based on what you have learned and applied this to the analysis of your organization, what do you feel the organization does well and what needs improvement? Do its goals seem realistic? Does the organization need to change (structure, leadership, control functions, product(s) etc)?

This is a chance for you to get “personal” based on your understanding of the organization and by utilizing the concepts learned in the course.

Fundamentals of Security

(KB)

System risks and threats are common to information systems, and their prevention is among the top priorities to ensure the effectiveness of the systems. According to Wheelus and Zhu (2020), the three categories of threats are computer viruses, spyware threats, hackers, and predators. Each of these categories presents different risks to information systems. Computer viruses alter the way computers operate without the knowledge or permission of the user. Viruses replicate and execute themselves, ending up doing damage to the computer. Spyware threats monitor the online activities of a computer, capture information, and install programs without the user’s consent. On the other hand, hackers and predators carry out cyber-terrorism by introducing malware and security threats to change, steal or destroy information as a way of victimizing system users. The three categories of system risks and threats are the major ones.

The top threats of a missile defense system for each category and the realization in a real system compromise are as follows. A virus is among the top threats to the defense system given the ability to replicate and execute itself, hence misguiding the system’s users and damaging both software and hardware. Spyware is also a top threat, especially when a missile defense system has a weak security control system and manipulates information, hence misguiding the system. Hackers also remain among the top threats to a defense system as they manipulate and destroy the system by introducing viruses and using them to destroy or misinform the defense system creating great risk potentials. Some of the factors in assessing the system threats are historical information which can predict sources of threat. Actual, inherent, and potential threats are equally significant in system threat assessment (Wheelers & Zhu, 2020). The three categories of system threats have greater potential risks, and users of information systems need to be aware and implement security measures to protect their systems against them.

Cloud Vender Presentation

In this project, you will develop a detailed comparative analysis of  cloud vendors and their services. A comparative analysis provides an  item-by-item comparison of two or more alternatives, processes,  products, or systems. In this case, you will compare the pros/cons of  the cloud service providers in terms of security, ease of use, service  models, services/tools they provide, pricing, technical support, cloud  service providers’ infrastructure, and architecture model.

You will present your findings to the owner of the company in a narrated PowerPoint presentation with 10 to 20 slides. Use the Cloud Presentation Template.

This resource can help you prepare and record your presentation: Presentation Resources.

Presentation Guidelines

Your presentation should be comprised of the following:

  • One to two slides on the company profile.
  • One to two slides on what the company is struggling with.
  • One to two slides on current infrastructure.
  • Three to six slides on the top three cloud services providers.  Include their service models (i.e., SaaS, PaaS, IaaS),  services/tools/solutions (i.e., compute, storage, database, developer  tools, analytics tools, networking and content delivery, customer  engagement), pricing, accessibility, technical support for companies,  global infrastructure.
  • One to two slides on a recommended cloud service provider based on  the comparative analysis and the cloud vendor’s abilities to meet the  service needs of the company.
  • One slide on the conclusion.
  • All slides must be narrated by you, the student.

How Will My Work Be Evaluated?

As a professional, you will likely make presentations to customers,  client audiences, and management. By summarizing your results and  recommendations in an effective presentation, you are demonstrating how  you use your technical knowledge to convey your ideas to others in a  professional setting. Your ability to express recommendations to  decision makers with the right mix of technical detail in an accepted  format is an important workplace and career skill.

The following evaluation criteria aligned to the competencies will be used to grade your assignment:

  • 1.1.1: Articulate the main idea and purpose of a communication.
  • 1.1.2: Support the main idea and purpose of a communication.
  • 2.1.1: Identify the issue or problem under consideration.
  • 2.2.2: Evaluate sources of information on a topic for relevance and credibility.
  • 2.3.1: State conclusions or solutions clearly and precisely.
  • 10.1.1: Identify the problem to be solved.
  • 10.1.2: Gather project requirements to meet stakeholder needs.
  • 10.1.3: Define the specifications of required technologies.
  • 13.1.1: Create documentation appropriate to the stakeholder.
  • 13.2.1: Evaluate vendor recommendations in the context of organization requirements.

Art project

STRUCTURE OF PROJECT:

  1. Title your project.  Titles are important and inform your reader/viewer of what’s to come or what to expect.  Should be the last thing to consider.
  2. The introduction should answer Who? What? When? Where? Why?
    1. Hook your reader/viewer:  the introduction should be engaging and pique the interest of your reader/viewer.
    2. Orient your reader/viewer provide appropriate background information about the artwork
    3. Describe the artwork = use descriptive adjectives = a description is what you see in the artwork, NOT an interpretation.
    4. Explain why the work was created – was it commissioned?  Privately or publically funded?
    5. Thesis statement =>this is your objective interpretation.
      1. What is the artwork saying to its audience?
  3. Supporting Arguments & Evidence: Each argument should clearly support your interpretation with evidence derived from your research and observation of the object.
    1. Visual Analysis identifies the artwork’s applicable formal elements of art (FEA) and principles of design (PoD) delivered in a format that supports a description of the artwork
    2. Contextual analysis of the artwork’s original historical, cultural, or political context
    3. Interpretation/Point of View = what does the artwork mean?
      1. Your objective interpretation/POV should be supported through an explanation of HOW the FEA, PoD & context support your interpretation.
      2. Answering the “HOW” part is crucial to your analysis. It is not enough to just identify the characteristics and list a few historical facts; you have to synthesize the information into a cohesive interpretation.
  4. Conclusion should:
    1. Evaluate the effectiveness of the artwork
    2. Sum up your ideas & lead the reader out of the presentation.
  5. Bibliography/Works Cited with at least three (3) *credible sources.
    1. Credible sources are those with
      1. An author (if they didn’t put their name to it, don’t trust it!);
      2. Bibliography works cited, footnotes, further readings (if they didn’t include their research, don’t trust it!)
      3. If you need help, ask me & a librarian

Discussion of Triaxial of Action: Policy, Politics, and Nursing

PLEASE ANSWER THE QUESTIONS BELOW IN APA FORMAT

INCLUDE AT LEAST 2 REFERENCES AND 2 CITATIONS

EACH ANSWER MUST HAVE AT LEAST 2-3 SENTENCES

THANK YOU

1- What is Policy?

2- Explain each of them:  Public policy—

Private policy—

Health policy—

Social policy—

Organizational policy?

3- Who was F

lorence Nightingale, and what was her contribution to the Nursing Field?

4- Who was Lillian Wald?

5- Who was Margaret Sanger, and in what way she helped to the developments of Nursing Field?

6_ what is  (ICN), and what they do?

7- What is s (NLCA) and they do?

Jeanne Blum, RN, is a nurse on a LDRP unit. Recently, the policy and

procedures manual for Jeanne’s unit included the premature rupturing of membranes of a laboring patient

as a practice acceptable for nurses to perform. Jeanne

and some of her coworkers shared their concern over

lunch about this new responsibility. They felt uncomfortable with the possibility of cord prolapse and

other potential medical complications resulting from

this practice. Jeanne gathered data from her state and

many others states and noted that her hospital was

not in compliance with her professional organization

practice standards. Jeanne shared this information with her coworkers. She volunteered to contact the

state board of nursing on their behalf to request a

declaratory statement on the nurse’s role in the initiation of premature rupturing of uterine membranes.

Her state board’s clinical practice committee

reviewed her request for a declaratory statement and

gathered information from other states. A formal

declaratory statement was drafted by the board and

made it available on its Web site. A letter from the

board was sent to Jeanne’s institution, informing it of

the declaratory statement, which stated that the task

nurses were requested to perform was beyond their

scope of practice based on the Nurse Practice Act.

8-Which stage of the policy model does this scenario

represent?

Field Experience Observation Assignment

For this assignment you will be required to observe one student in a classroom setting for two hours. During this observation you will record all the behaviors displayed by the student. You should create a comprehensive and specific list of behaviors (eg. pulls his own hair, stares away from the teacher, whispers to her friend, throws pencil on the floor, etc.). The summary should be extremely detailed. Do not use the student’s real name in the summary. Create a pseudonym for the student to maintain confidentiality.

You will also complete an Antecedent-Behavior-Consequence (ABC) chart during your observation. The Field Experience Observation ABC Chart should include at least two behavior episodes.

When considering the function of the observed behavior, please choose from one of the following:

  1. Escape/Avoidance

  2. Obtaining/Acquiring

The preferred observation site would be in a classroom that provides assistance to students with emotional disabilities. The preferred student for this observation would be an individual who has been known to exhibit challenging behaviors.

The Liberty University Field Office will not help you to find a school/classroom for this observation. You must independently approach schools in your community to organize the observation. You may use the Field Experience Observation Letter if your chosen school requests additional documentation.

NOTE:  If you live in Central Virginia, you may not contact the local school systems (Lynchburg City, Campbell County, Bedford County, Appomattox County, and Amherst County) to complete the field experience requirement. You may contact the instructor of this course for your options. Thank you!

After the observation, provide a description of the student and a summary of the behaviors you witnessed during the observation. Analyze the behaviors and provide a few reasons as to why the behaviors might have occurred. Use information from your textbooks to support your reasoning.

The list of behaviors and the behavior summary should be 400-500 words. This does not include the words that will be used on the Field Experience Observation ABC Chart. Please copy and paste the Field Experience Observation ABC Chart onto the document that contains the list of behaviors and the behavior summary. Use current APA format when writing your summary.
