Overview: In this journal, you can ask any questions that you have about the feedback from previous milestone submissions or about the final project submission. This journal assignment will help you with the recommendation portion of the final project. Upon reviewing the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) website, as well as your Milestone One and Milestone Two assignments, you will gather information that will assist in creating recommendations. What is most important is that you base your recommendation on what you have researched in the book and the various reading assignments. 

Prompt: Review the CMS website and search for additional support that can be used for making recommendations in your final project. A project plan is a document created at the beginning of the project lifecycle that gives stakeholders and everyone else involved a clear idea of what the project will entail in terms of effort, time, cost, and anticipated results. 

The methodology or approach the project manager plans to use to manage the project must be identified before the project plan can be created. Choosing a methodology is important because a methodology provides the framework—that is, an overall process and suggested documents and deliverables—that will guide project development from beginning to end.     Choose 3 quantitative elements that you would like to research in relation to the organization that you selected for your business plan. 1.  An important component of this course is the research paper. The research paper is a topic of your choice, but it must be related to the course material.   Browsing the Table of Contents of your text is a good place to find inspiration.  The topic must be approved by your instructor by the end of week 3.  Failure to gain approval for your topic will result in a 10% deduction of the final grade. 

2.  The research paper should include an introduction of the topic, a body in which the topic is developed and references cited, and a well-defined conclusion.

3. Your paper must have a strong thesis statement. Your thesis is a statement (not a question or a topic) that describes what your paper will be about and provides a unique perspective (see: https://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/resource/545/01/).

4. You are required to have an abstract for your paper.  

*I strongly suggest that, as part of your research, you take advantage of the university’s online library link. There is a wide variety of resources there including many full text papers and articles. TITLE: DESIGNING A BLOCKCHAIN SOLUTION TO SOLVE THE OPEC Oil and Gas Tracking Problem.

The OPEC Cooperative is an umbrella organization of firms based out of oil-producing countries. They launched their first Oil and Gas product that tracks the shipment of oil from source to destination markets using Oracle. Usually, the oil is drilled in one of the oceans or oil fields in the deserts of  Saudi Arabia by a producer called Aramco. Then the oil is shipped by large oil tankers owned by  freight liners. Finally, the oil is delivered to shell, reliance, etc. that refine this petroleum into natural gas and diesel for transportation  to fuel pumps where customers purchase them.

A web-based solution turned out to be expensive to maintain since the Database company kept changing software versions and charged a lot of money to maintain the solution and service. Eric, the president of the OPEC’s cooperative in consultation with Emma the CTO,  decided that they have to move this onto blockchains to enable smaller oil producers and smaller tanker operations (especially in less developed counties and second/third world countries) to track produced oil. The technology cost for the hardware and software required is too high and since this operation is cross-continent it will be extremely difficult to track products  such as

This registration and tracking of ownership on a blockchain system will help all parties on the transaction to provide origin tracking and quality standards certification, as well as helping facilitate access to the market.
