Need this ASAP

Part I-Choose three terms to explore (choose either processes or products or a combination). You might want to choose terms from your area of study. Research the three terms you intend to define. Practice writing definitions by writing a simple and clear one-sentence definition for each (in your own words). See the textbook section on sentence definitions.

Part II-Choose one of those terms (either a product or process) to describe in detail to an audience of your choice.

  • Create a 1-2 page Technical Descriptionbeginning with a cover page (see this YouTube Video on creating a cover page). At the bottom of the cover page, write a one sentence purpose statement that names your audience. Ex. The purpose of this document is to desribe a magnetometer to earth science students.
  • Your brief introduction should begin with the definition of the product or process.
  • The body should be presented in an organized manner using visual elements such as headings, subheadings, bullet points or numbered lists, graphics that inform, etc. Think visually.
  • It should conclude with a brief concluding statement (see the rubric for more details and use the rubric as a checklist).
  • Proofread aloud for clarity, conciseness, and correctness.
  • Eliminate wordiness to increase understanding and readability.
  • Either upload two documents to the correct dropbox: 1 definitions document and 1 description document. Or inlcude the definitions after the reference page of your description document.

W7: research paper

Choose one of the topics listed below to write an 8-10 page research paper on. (8-10 pages excluding the title page, reference list, appendices) Your paper MUST be in APA Format.

Do not include quotes in your work. I want to see your critical thinking skills on display and not a string of quotes written by published authors. Your analysis is what is needed for a successful paper. At this point in your educational journey, you should have solid substance and proper academic formatting in your college-level writing assignments. Students will be graded on both so make sure you turn in your best work. Do not wait until the last minute to research, write, format, and edit. Proper time management is required to turn in a quality paper that highlights your criminal justice writing.

This is a major assignment so please follow the instructions carefully.

1. Use at least five articles from scholarly sources in a paper that discusses police departments and crime control strategies.

2. Use at least five articles from scholarly sources in a paper that discusses illegal drug use, illegal prostitution, and money laundering.

3. Use at least five articles from scholarly sources in a paper that compares and contrasts the problems associated with defining and determining the frequency of corporate crime in the United States.

4. Use at least five articles from scholarly sources in a paper that examines one of the various theories that explain crime.

5. Use at least five articles from scholarly sources in a paper that critiques middle-class delinquency’s relationship to gangs.

Use the APUS library to find at least five, peer-reviewed articles that cover your chosen topic from the list above. Again, you are required to use scholarly, peer-reviewed journals, in-text citations, and provide a reference page for this paper.

Note: All work should be submitted in APA style, which includes (if sources are used) in-line citations and a References page. No exceptions.

Note that references used for your research need to be peer-reviewed/scholarly journals. These journals typically have the following characteristics:

1. articles are reviewed by a panel of experts before they are accepted for publication;
2. articles are written by a scholar or specialist in the field;
3. articles report on original research or experimentation;
4. are often published by professional associations;
5. utilize terminology associated with the discipline.

Journal due in 5 days

instructions are below-

TUESDAY IS DAY 1 OF MODULE – MONDAY IS DAY 7 OF MODULE

Assignment  – Journaling

A successful assignment submission meets rubric criteria (Content, Organization, Style/Language, and Sentence Structure/Grammar) and follows the assignment prompt. Completing this assignment should enable you to connect academic reading/writing to other settings and compose journal entries that follow the appropriate rules of grammar and composition. (MO 1,2)

Instructions:
This is a freewriting and editing assignment that should take less than 20min per day from start to submission. This assignment further confirms your improvement of writing and editing abilities from the beginning of the course and helps you connect writing to places and concepts beyond the classroom. Complete and submit the assignment by 01:00 CST Monday of Week 7.

Details & Prompt:

Time yourself for at least 10min each day of this module. Write about anything on your mind each day! Then, spend a little time editing and formatting it before submitting it. Do not submit any files until the due date. Keep your journal entries in a single document with headings for each entry.

  • If you choose to type each entry into a single word document each day, make sure you create headings and have the document in MLA format.
  • If you choose to complete this assignment in an analog journaling system during the week, you may scan or photograph the entries, but embed them into one document that is otherwise formatted in MLA style before uploading.
  • If you choose to complete this assignment via vlog, audio files, podcast, blog, etc. you will need to provide an MLA formatted document explaining where and how to access the entries and cite the entries in the document.
  • If you come up with another creative way to complete this assignment not listed here, you still need to upload a single document with the MLA heading and running header, citations if applicable, and explanations if necessary.

The main takeaway from these directions is one MLA formatted file uploaded and your instructor needs to be able to read, view, or listen to your entries in some way!

Career Counselor-Based Personality Assessment Scenario

Prior to beginning work on this discussion, read the Rammstedt, Kemper, & Borg (2013) and  Rodrigues, & Rebelo (2013) articles for this week,  and review Chapters 7 through 9 in your textbook.

For this discussion, you will be taking on the role of the career counselor in a university. In this role, you will facilitate the evaluation of a student based on a five-factor personality assessment, career goals questionnaire, school and work history, and an interview with the student to make recommendations on his potential career paths. Carefully review the PSY615: Week four career counselor-based scenario (Links to an external site.).

In your initial post, evaluate the personality assessment instrument used in the scenario and research a peer-reviewed article in the Ashford University Library on this personality assessment. Using the required articles as well as your researched article to support your statements, describe the standard use of this personality assessment. Based on the scenario, evaluate the reliability, validity, and cultural considerations inherent to the personality assessment used and comment on the relevance of these elements within the scenario. Recommend at least one additional best- and worst-fit work situation for the student based on your evaluation of the personality assessment’s accuracy. Analyze and describe some of the potential ethical issues which might arise from the use of this personality assessment in the given scenario.  Provide information from your research on the use of the personality measure, and assess the value of other possible instruments that could be added to create a more complete assessment of the student in the scenario.

Child abuse and maltreatment is not limited to a particular age—it can occur in the infant, toddler, preschool, and school-age years. Choose one of the four age groups and outline the types of abuse most commonly seen among children of that age.

 Topic 2 DQ 1

Child abuse is any Act of Violence either physical or emotional towards an individual under 18 years of age. Children of all age group are at risk of such forms of abusive activities. It is been estimated that globally around 1 million cases of child abuse (2 to 17 years) in form of physical, emotional and sexual violence and neglect occurred in the previous year(U.S Department of Health and Human Services, 2019)

Types of abuse

Physical abuse : This involves all forms of activities that cause physical or physiological harm to a child, examples are beating, biting, shaking and burning, and it’s prevalent among children of all ages.

Psychological abuse: This might involve mental torturing such as verbal abuse or terrorizing a child as well as humiliation. All these forms may cause psychological illness in the victims. Usually toddler, preschool, and school-age years are exposed to psychological forms of abuse.

Sexual abuse: This includes involving minors or children below 18 years in sexual activities. Sexual abuse includes direct and indirect sexual activities that the child may not be able to comprehend, most victim of sexual abuse are preschoolers and school age children, but rare cases of infant and toddler abuse are also reported in many countries(U.S Department of Health and Human Services, 2019)

Signs of abuse:

Adolescent/Child will likely exhibit the following characteristics:

  • Failing grades at school
  • Difficulties relating with others of engaging in any meaningful relationship
  • Increased incidence of theft, arrest, and violence
  • Promiscuous behaviors
  • Poor hygiene, and unkempt
  • Facial injuries with no cogent explanations
  • Abnormal weight gain or loss.Frequent elopements (U.S Department of Health and Human Services, 2019)

Cultural variations and child abuse:

According to UNICEF 2022 data on female genital mutilation, about 200 million girls in 31 counties are victim of such practices. In some part of Africa, this form of child abuse is a norm for the female especially teenagers, the main reason for genital mutilation is preventing victims from promiscuity(UNICEF : For every child, 2020)

Nurse’s role in reporting child abuse

Any forms of child abuse must be immediately reported to the police as well as child care authorities functioning under the state government.

When a nurse suspects a child abuse, it must be immediately reported to the physician or the senior in charge nurse.

If the child is with the person suspected to be an abuser, the further assessment must be done after eliminating the person from the room.

Ensure that the child is comfortable and then a head to toe assessment must be performed.

At the time of examination it is advisable to have a witness probably from the medical profession.

A nurse must properly record the significant assessment findings suggestive of abusive activity with date and time.

In my state the Department of child welfare referral are made who will take the incident of child abuse for further investigations.(U.S Department of Health and Human Services, 2019)

Discussion 4 Critical Thinking

In this discussion forum, you will examine your critical thinking, inquiring, and communication skills within the subject of physical education.

Questioning compels thinking and, as thinkers, you assess what you read and incorporate knowledge with your prior understanding of the subject.  As part of this discussion, you will read about concepts surrounding physical education and evaluate your previous knowledge on this subject.  Then you will create your own question for your classmates to answer.

Read Chapter 8, fill in the ‘What I know” and “What I Want to know section of the following chart.  Then read the chapters and complete the What I learned section of the chart

The KWL Chart        (This does not have to be included but it will help you with the question you are gonna ask.

Topic:  Inclusion, special needs, least restrictive environment, physical, health, and learning disabilities with accommodation strategies, obese and overweight children’s experiences in physical education, Th e four S’s: safety, success, satisfying, skill appropriate

What I know The second section of the chart

What I want to learn is the third section of the chart

What I learned is the last of the chart

Creating Your own Discussion Question

Your questions need to originate from one of the concepts introduced in Chapter 8

After reading, use your completed chart and chapter reading to formulate a discussion prompt. Your discussion prompt should include all of the following:

a.  an opening question or statement to introduce the topic

examples:  What are some difficulties that an obese child might have during PE lesson? or list several difficulties that an obese child might encounter during  PE lesson

b.  A question or statement that requires further research or thinking on the subject:

examples: What are some adaptions that a teacher can make to endure that an obese child is able to complete a physical activity? or Explain how a teacher can adapt a physical education lesson accommodate an obese child.

c.  A question or statement that requires the reader to apply it to their own situation, current or future profession:

example:  What are some outside resources or websites that you would use to offer support to an obese child and their family.  Explain how you would use this resource.

week 4 discussion analysis

Discussion

The discussion assignment provides a forum for discussing relevant topics for this week based on the course competencies covered.

For this assignment, choose one of the following questions and post your initial response to the Discussion Area by the due date assigned.

To support your work, use your course and text readings and also use outside sources. As in all assignments, cite your sources in your work and provide references for the citations in APA format.

Start reviewing and responding to the postings of your classmates as early in the week as possible. Respond to at least two of your classmates. Participate in the discussion by asking a question, providing a statement of clarification, providing a point of view with a rationale, challenging an aspect of the discussion, or indicating a relationship between two or more lines of reasoning in the discussion. Complete your participation for this assignment by the end of the week.

Question One: Bivariate Regression

Regression analysis is a powerful and commonly used tool in business research. One important step in regression is to determine the dependent and independent variable(s).

In a bivariate regression, which variable is the dependent variable and which one is the independent variable?

  • What does the intercept of a regression tell? What does the slope of a regression tell?
  • What are some of the main uses of a regression?

Provide an example of a situation wherein a bivariate regression would be a good choice for analyzing data.

Question Two: Types of Regression Analyses

There are two major types of regression analysis—simple and multiple regression analysis. Both types consist of dependent and independent variables. Simple linear regression has two variables—dependent and independent. Multiple regression consists of dependent variable and two or more independent variables.

  • How does a multiple regression compare with a simple linear regression?
  • What are the various ways to determine what variables should be included in a multiple regression equation?
  • Compare and contrast the following processes: forward selection, backward elimination, and stepwise selection.

Justify your answers using examples and reasoning. Comment on the postings of at least two peers and state whether you agree or disagree with their views.

Discussion 1: Developments in Cognitive Psychology

Phrenologists in nineteenth-century Victorian England believed that aspects of a person—such as weight, temperament, and organ function—represented themselves as bumps on the head. By fingering the ridges on the skulls of individuals, practitioners believed that they could make determinations about any number of somatic and psychological qualities. Humans have long sought to understand how the brain functions to create the self—how it “knows.” This search has evolved into today’s study of cognition.

Long dismissed by the scientific community, the pseudoscience of phrenology gave way to a twentieth-century understanding of neurological function as a general mystery that science had yet to solve. This belief persisted into the 1990s until advances in technology and theory development brought about an exponential increase in neurologists’ understanding of cognitive processes.

With the advent of imaging technology, neurologists, psychologists, and even laypersons have access to “pictures of the mind.” When bolstered by theory and research, these images expand our awareness of the ways in which the brain helps us to think, feel, and act (Cacioppo, Berntson, & Nusbaum, 2008).

For this Discussion, consider your definition of cognitive psychology. Think about developments in the field and contributions that they have made.

Post your personal definition of cognitive psychology. Then describe two important developments in the field of cognitive psychology beyond the use of neuroimaging. Finally, explain how the developments contribute to the field of psychology. Support your response using the Learning Resources and current research.

Be sure to support your postings and responses with specific references to the Learning Resources.
