Food Intake: 3 Days

Record food intake and activities performed for three days. The iProfile® will be utilized to analyze the 3-day Food Intake Record. The Activities data will be analyzed during Week 4.

Enter your food intake for three full days using the food journal within iProfile®.

Follow the WileyPLUS® iProfile® instructions. Save this information.

Access the Intake Spreadsheet within the reports menu. Select start and end dates in the calendar at the top of the screen. The intake spreadsheet will calculate and display the average for the three days. Attach a screenshot of your report or export the report using Excel or PDF.

Write a paper of at least 750 words that addresses the following points about your 3-day food intake:

  • Recorded intake of protein, carbohydrates, and lipids
  • Which foods in your recorded daily intake provide protein? Which provide carbohydrates? Which provide lipids?
  • Review how your recorded protein, carbohydrate, and lipid intake compares with the recommendations of the dietary reference intake. If your recorded protein-carbohydrate-fat intake was too high or too low, which foods might you add or remove to achieve your goal and keep other nutrients in balance?
  • Is the protein in each food you ate complete or incomplete, combining to become complementary? Why is this important?
  • How much of your daily recommended protein, carbohydrates, and lipid intake did you achieve? If your macronutrient intake is insufficient or excessive, what might you do to bring it into the recommended range? Provide specific recommendations.
  • Macronutrient intake ranges
    • Is macronutrient intake within the recommended range important? What are the effects of too much or too little of a macronutrient? What happens if you consistently eat too little protein? What happens if you eat too few carbohydrates? What happens if you eat too few lipids?
  • Fiber intake ranges
    • Does your fiber total meet 100% of the recommendation for you as calculated at iProfile®?
    • Does your diet meet the minimum number of servings of foods from each fiber-containing group? If not, which of the fiber-containing groups–fruits and vegetables–fell short of the recommended intake?
    • Which specific foods provide the most fiber in your meals? Which provide the least? Identify trends in your food choices that might affect your fiber intakes.
  • Dietary modifications
    • What changes might you make to increase the fiber in your diet?
    • How might insufficient or excessive amounts of proteins, carbohydrates, fats, or fiber contribute to health or illness? Provide examples.
    • What have you learned about your diet?

Cite three references other than the course text.

Format your paper consistent with APA guidelines.

Include an explanation on the links between theory and relevant examples.

The Grading Guide for Food Intake – 3-Days will be used for this assignment.

Option #1: Case: Challenge with CSR

Option #1: Case: Challenge with CSR

A key challenge with CSR is determining the ways in which companies measure, represent, and report on their ethical and sustainable programs and activities. Although there are national and global best practices for ethical behavior by corporations, there is no single national or universal index used by all.

As a potential socially responsible investor, you’re interested in learning more about a company’s CSR and sustainability practices. To that end, you are planning to perform due diligence before making a decision about whether or not to invest in a company. Select one Multi-National Company (MNC) and read its annual CSR report. Then address the following:

  • Compare and contrast the company’s CSR report using the Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes and The Global 100, which measure the CSR practices of corporations. Evaluate the usefulness of these two indices for your research on the MNC’s CSR practices by critiquing the credibility and limitations of each.
  • Generate a report about the company’s CSR performance and strategies based on your analysis. Support and cite your analysis with facts drawn from your research.

Your well-written paper must adhere to the following parameters:

  • Be 4  pages in length, not including the title and reference pages.
  • Be supported by six, with at least four scholarly references. Remember, you must support your thinking/opinions and prior knowledge with references; all facts must be supported; in-text references used throughout the assignment must be included in an APA-formatted reference list.
  • Review the grading rubric within this assignment for more detail on how this assignment will be graded.
  • Be formatted according to the CSU Global Writing Center (Links to an external site.) .

Reading response

Take a close look at Farmer’s discussion on the codes of medical practice and documents such as Tavistock, for instance (chapter 8). Notice the gap between rhetoric and practice. Now reflect on how these different practices apply to the rich and the poor (individuals and countries). What does Farmer say is the major issue in global ethics when considering the health of the poor? According to the rhetoric, how are humans classified? How are they (we) classified when considering medical practice in relation to health (and human) needs? Justify your answer.

Note: These discussions and readings are geared to help you gain knowledge, guide and challenge your thoughts about global health issues, so these tasks are not supposed to be “easy” or something you can complete last minute. There is no right or wrong in your answers. However, you must demonstrate that you have done the required readings for each assignment AND gone beyond the readings presenting reading-informed personal reflections. To demonstrate that you have done the readings, you need to always cite your sources in text and use examples from those reading to support your statements with evidence. For instance, if you are discussing a concept presented by Farmer, don’t take it for granted that because everyone reads the same texts, what you are referring to will be “obvious” to everyone else in the class. Instead assume that nothing is “obvious” until you make it so, but properly acknowledging your source. So, going back to our example of Farmer, once you present your statement discussing one of his concepts, ideas and/or examples, you need to cite this author. You can presented in several ways, but here are a couple of examples:
1. According to Farmer, …..[introduce his idea/your position]… [if using a direct quote ALWAYS use “quotation marks” and indicate page number]…. (2005, p.13).
2. Given the evidence [explain what this evidence is]/ Given the concept of “…present the concept…”/ In the example of US inpatients in… [remember to provide enough detail so everyone knows what you are referring to], I believe that…..[here incorporate your personal reflection on the topic]… (Crisp 2010, pp.21-23).

Note: Aim for a well researched, balanced and analytical approach to the information provided in the readings in your discussion posts. Be as clear and informative as possible.
Remember, your main post should be of a minimum 200-word length; your long reply of at least 50 words and your follow-up post does not have a word limit, but it is still a required part of your grading for this assignment. However, grading will be based on the quality of your content rather than quantity of words. The word limit is only a minimum length grading mark.

ABC manufactures a new generation of video game console.

ABC manufactures a new generation of video game console. The fixed overhead

for the manufacturing is budgeted for $5,500,000 for 2022. The sales of the game consoles are

predicted to be 400,000 units for the year. All variable costs for the manufacturing are

estimated to be $95 per unit. The selling and administrative expenses are budgeted for

$4,800,000 and of which, $1,850,000 of them are variable expenses. The game console’s sale

price will be $195 each.

(1) Prepare a budgeted income statement for the year 2022 in contribution form ignoring

income taxes.

(2) A video game company plans to bundle its games with a game console. If the video game

company offers to buy 50,000 units of the game console for $8 million on a one-time

special order. Assume that ABC has enough manufacturing capacity for the order and

there will be no selling and administrative cost incurred. However, a special commission

of 7% of the sales of this special order will apply. Should ABC take this special order?

(3) For the special order in (2), if ABC only has extra capacity of 35,000 units and the

additional 15,000 units need to be subcontracted for $125 each, should ABC take this

special order?

(4) For the special order in (3), what is the highest subcontract price that ABC can accept so

that ABC will not lose money on this special order?

    Corporate Tax

    CORPORATE TAX EXAM SAMPLE

At the beginning of Year 1, ABC, Inc. (ABC) has one class of stock (i.e., common stock), and there are only 100 shares of that common stock outstanding. Jen owns 40% of the ABC common stock and has a basis of $400 in that stock. The other 60% of the ABC stock is held equally by Jen’s friend Marina (who has a basis of $200 in her stock), Marina’s daughter Elena (who has a basis of $200 in her stock), and Jen’s mother Jacky (who has a basis of $200 in her stock). In Year 1, ABC has $50,000 of earnings and profits from its operations (that are not attributable to any specific period during that year) and no accumulated earnings and profits. On June 1 of Year 1, ABC distributes $20,000 to its shareholders. On November 12 of Year 1, ABC distributes a parcel of land with a fair market value of $10,000 and a basis of $5,000 to its shareholders. In Year 2, ABC has a current deficit in earnings and profits of $40,000 (that is not attributable to any specific period during that year). On April 1 of Year 2, ABC distributes $20,000 to its shareholders. In Years 3 and 4, ABC has ample earnings and profits.

At the beginning of Year 1, DEF, Inc. (DEF) has one class of stock (i.e., common stock), and there are only 200 shares of that common stock outstanding. Jen owns 40% of the DEF common stock and has a basis of $400 in that stock. The other 60% of the DEF stock is held equally by Jen’s friend Marina (who has a basis of $200 in her stock), Marina’s daughter Elena (who has a basis of $200 in her stock), and Jen’s mother Jacky (who has a basis of $200 in her stock). DEF is profitable and has ample earnings and profits. In Year 4, Jen, Marina, and Jacky each transfer 10 shares of ABC common stock (with a fair market value of $10,000) to DEF in exchange for one additional share of DEF stock (with a fair market value of $1,000) plus $9,000 in cash.

In Year 5, ABC adopted a periodic redemption plan under which each shareholder of ABC is eligible to have no more than 2 shares of ABC stock redeemed each year. No more than a total of 4 shares can be redeemed in any one year under the plan. In Year 5, no shareholder made an election to have shares redeemed. In Year 6, however, DEF elected to have 2 of its shares of ABC stock redeemed; no other shareholder elected to have stock redeemed that year. Based on subsequent participation in the plan, this redemption by DEF in Year 6 was not an isolated redemption.

Discuss the U.S. federal income tax consequences of this series of events to all parties involved. In your answer, please be sure to discuss all relevant tax consequences (with and without available elections)—including, but not limited to, the amount, timing, and character of

any income; basis; holding period; and tax attributes (e.g., earnings and profits and net operating losses).

    UCR Performance Task

    Scenario

In June of 2016, you begin your first week as an intern at the Happy Town Police Department. As an intern, you develop a good rapport with Police Chief Rodney Hurt.

On the second week of your internship, you begin to ask questions (to the police officers you have been working with at the department) concerning the Uniform Crime Rate (UCR). You tell them you are taking a class at Strayer University and are interested in gaining a better understanding of statistics and the application of statistics to law enforcement.

The following day you are greeted by Sergeant Gunn. She provides you with Part I crime data over the past five years that were submitted to the Federal Bureau of Investigation for the Uniform Crime Report. The Part I information provided to you by Sergeant Gunn is a compilation of crime data drawn from four areas: Happy Town, Frown Town, Smooth Town, and Cool Town.

After a review of the crime trends, you are alarmed at the rate of crime reported in these four towns. You are now curious to dig a little deeper and make some comparisons across the data provided to you.

    Instructions

Your task is to write a four-page report for the Chief of Police Rodney Hurt. He will use the report for his news conference regarding the public’s concern for the increase in crime over the past five years. In the report, you will include the following:

    1. A definition and description of the Uniform Crime Report.
    2. A description of the data-gathering strategy for your report and a rationale for why you chose that technique.
    3. A discussion of the crime trends comparing Happy Town, Frown Town, Smooth Town, and Cool Town over the past five years.

Your report should clearly describe all the details necessary for the Chief’s news conference. Your answers will be judged not only on the accuracy of the information you provide, but also on how thoroughly the information is covered, how effectively the report is organized, and how well your writing reflects the conventions of standard written English. While your personal values and experiences are important, please answer all the questions in this task solely on the basis of the information provided in the Week 4 Assignment Document Library [PDF].

    Formatting Requirements

This course requires the use of Strayer Writing Standards. For assistance and information, please refer to the Strayer Writing Standards link in the left-hand menu of your course. Check with your professor for any additional instructions.

    What Do Manuel’s Results Mean?

As a special educator you must be able to interpret the results of assessments in order to make sound recommendations for appropriate accommodations and interventions.  In order to do this you must understand the patterns of the disability you are working with and you must know how to interpret the results of the assessments and evaluations so that you can draw accurate conclusions.

Using support from the required readings, the Instructor Guidance, supplemental information derived from the discussions and outside sources, and information from the scenario described below, you will write a 3 page paper describing what you think Manuel’s results mean and the strategies you think will help him to better succeed in school.

Scenario: The Evaluation Committee (EC) is preparing to meet for the purpose of reviewing all assessment results that have been conducted for Manuel.  They will also be reading your Evaluation Summary.  You are confident the team is going to find that Manuel has an educational disability and that it is adversely affecting his educational performance.  You and Mr. Franklin note that the assessment prepared by the school psychologists suggests that Manuel has dyslexia, a type of learning disability affecting reading and writing skills.

Neither you nor Mr. Franklin know very much about this common language-based learning disorder and you both decide to do a little research on the topic in preparation for the upcoming Individualized Education Program team meeting.  You and Mr. Franklin are looking both for specific strategies that can be implemented unobtrusively in the classroom, and for more focused strategies that will take place outside of the classroom setting.  You also want to have some resources for Manuel and his parents so there can consistency between the home and school settings.

As you learn more, you and Mr. Franklin begin to suspect that Manuel is not the only one of your students who may be dyslexic and you plan to talk to the Chair of the Special Education department about finding and using a screening instrument for all students in school so that children may receive the appropriate intervention earlier.

    Instructions:
This assignment requires that you use Manuel’s assessment results to learn more about his specific learning disability so that you can provide appropriate accommodations and interventions.  You will explore dyslexia and how the symptoms manifest to significantly impact a child’s education.  You will also provide research-based recommendations for strategies to support Manuel in being more successful in school. Interpreting assessment result to identify a student’s strengths and areas of need are skills that will be used in this task and as your move into the real-world workforce.

Use the instructions below for the content and written communication expectations.  Before submission, review your assignment using the Grading Rubric to ensure it meets the expectations for distinguished performance.  If you have questions about the assignment or the rubric, please contact your Instructor using the “Ask Your Instructor” discussion before the due date.

    Content Expectations:
For this assignment, write a 3 page paper with the following components:

    • A concise introduction describing the purpose of the paper.
    • A chart describing three possible signs of dyslexia.
    • An explanation for why dyslexia is considered by the Individuals With Disabilities Education Act as a Specific Learning Disability
    • A summary of current research on the causes of dyslexia.
    • A description of at least three specific teaching strategies to support students who have dyslexia.
    • An analysis of the strengths that dyslexic students often exhibit.
    • A conclusion summarizing what you have learned from your research on this topic.
    • Use Graphics and/or Other Formatting Tools Such as Prezi to Make the Document Interactive and Engaging.

    Written Expectations:

    • Syntax and Mechanics:  Exhibit meticulous use of grammar, spelling, organization, and usage throughout your submission.
    • Organization:  Use the above listed guidelines for explicit sections/headings within your paper.
    • Source Requirement:  Reference at least four scholarly sources in addition to the course text in order to provide compelling evidence to support your ideas.
    • Page Requirement:  3 to 4 pages, not including the title and references pages.
    • Additional Page Requirement:  Your submission must include a title and reference page.
    • APA format:  All in text citations, page format and references must be written in APA 6th edition format.
