“How has the COVID 19 Global pandemic impacted health care workers on the front line?” Response

Research Question- “How has the COVID 19 Global pandemic impacted health care workers on the front line?”

The fear of the unknown was a huge struggle for health care workers in the COVID 19 pandemic (Sampaio et al., 2020). Not only were healthcare workers vulnerable to the high risk of infection but also to significant mental health struggles (Sampaio et al., 2020). The lack of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) significantly increased the anxiety and depression experienced by healthcare workers (Sampaio et al., 2020).

This research question is taking a qualitative approach. The question aims at the focus to study the mental health affects health care workers have experienced since working and living through COVID 19. A qualitative approach is the best approach for this research due to the fact that the study aims at developing a new understanding for health care workers’ lived experiences (Gray & Grove, 2021). It is important to understand their thoughts, emotions, and opinions to properly explore this topic.

When determining the sample of this research, it is important to determine the population. The population is health care workers who were on the front lines helping fight the COVID 19 pandemic. The researcher must keep the target population in mind when determining the sample.

The sampling method used in this research will be a Non-Probability method. Purposive sampling will be used to determine the sample. Purposive sampling does not use any randomization, rather it purposely selects the participants to ensure that the desired participants are incorporated in the finalized results (Campbell et al., 2020). Purposive sampling ensures the sample chosen aims at the purpose and objectives of the study (Campbell et al., 2020). In order to make these decisions about the sample, the researcher must be knowledgeable and unbiased when choosing the participants and be able to back up the reasoning as to why that participant was chosen (Gray & Grove, 2021).

A significant strength of this sampling method is the fact that the researcher has control over the participants who are interviewed and who will contribute to the final results of the study (Campbell et al., 2020). A weakness of the study is the fact that this can contribute to researcher bias (Gray & Grove, 2021). The researcher being so involved in the sample allows for bias to occur (Gray & grove, 2021). This also will question the quality and reliability of the participant (Gray & Grove, 2021)

When determining the sample, it is important to determine exclusion criteria and eligibility criteria. The exclusion criteria will include health care professionals with less than 1 year of experience. This is because starting in the healthcare field during a pandemic brings in a lot of different variables. The research wants to target experienced nurses only to keep it consistent. Another exclusion would be the type of healthcare field. We want to target health care professionals who felt the impact of COVID firsthand working with COVID patients every day. Eligibility criteria could include the number of years of experience in the health care setting to participate in this experience, and the type of healthcare environment which will specifically be health care workers in a COVID ICU.

Security architecture and design final paper

Respond to each question below. Remember to cover all aspects of the question.

Successful security architecture needs upper management to support for effective security standards and protocols. However, there are possible disadvantages to upper management involvement. List and describe the tradeoffs in business between rigorous security and delivering products to customers. Go beyond merely the automated solutions, or the technical checks that can be done without much human support.

Examine how capturing, standardizing, applying patterns, and standard solutions help to increase efficiency and maintain delivery teams’ velocity. Provide at least 3 real-world examples which describe and examine how they provide the velocity. Do not simply provide a list of things teams can do but for each idea, define the idea and explain its relevance.

Schoenfield lists several components of a successful security architecture practice, such as broad support across the organization, recruitment and training of security architects with the right kind of aptitude and interest, effective security requirements that enhance but do not slow down the innovation process, and finally, indicators that the security architecture team is being well utilized and adding value to project development. Describe what each of these components are and explain how each is relevant to security development. Include detail and examples.

Case Study 3: An Inconvenient HR Challenge

As the hospital administrator for Forest Glenn Medical Center, you oversee human

resources functions for the medical center. Recently, within the outpatient medical team,

three of the five doctors have submitted resignation letters effective immediately. You

recognize that this presents a big problem because the outpatient medical team is a

high-performance area in the medical center and cannot function with two full-time

physicians alone. You immediately organize a meeting with the director of the outpatient

medical team, Dr. Caron, to determine why these physicians are so determined to

resign immediately.

You meet with Dr. Caron and he states that he is just as surprised as you are that three

of his team members have decided to leave suddenly. He is at a complete loss as to

why they have decided to leave. After meeting with Dr. Caron, you decide to set up

individual meetings with the three physicians, Dr. Lowe, Dr. Howell, and Dr. Cardenas,

to process and discuss their resignations.

Upon meeting with Dr. Lowe and his purpose for resigning, he states, “I just could not

continue working for a tyrannical leader like Dr. Caron. While I love providing care to our

patients and working for Forest Glenn, I cannot live up to the standards that Dr. Caron

wants. Nor does he even let me try.” You decide to delve a little deeper into this

complaint and mention to Dr. Lowe that there is a process in place to submit complaints

for a hostile work environment. He states that he did not want to get anyone in trouble,

and that he would rather find employment elsewhere.

You then meet with Dr. Howell and Dr. Cardenas, who appear to corroborate with Dr.

Lowe’s reasoning on resigning from Forest Glenn. You approach them with the

possibility of talking to Dr. Caron about these complaints and whether they would be

willing to stay while you search for suitable replacements if the hostile work environment

is alleviated. Both Dr. Howell and Cardenas agree that they would be willing to stay for

two months while you address the issues with Dr. Caron in the outpatient medical team.

You immediately schedule a meeting with Dr. Caron to discuss the complaints and to

initiate necessary steps for the establishment of a productive and effective work

environment.
