Discussion

Janice is a 21-year old healthy female who presents for her yearly check-up. She is sexually attractive and uses condoms most of the time. She has never had a pelvic exam before.

Discuss the recommended screening tests, using the latest evidence-based guidelines that the nurse practitioner should perform on Janice.

The first screening test for Janice would be a pelvic exam. A pelvic exam is a way through which a healthcare provider examines the female organs to check for any gynecological problems. A pelvic exam is recommended when a person has symptoms such as discharge or pain or after turning 21 years. Other reasons for having a pelvic exam include having unexplained pain in the lower belly, vaginal discharge that causes itching or burning, foul smell, especially after engaging in sex, vaginal bleeding that lasts for more than 10 days, missed periods, and intense menstrual cramps (Echeverria-Beltran, n.d). A pelvic exam usually involves three parts. The first part involves looking at the outside of the vagina by the healthcare provider to see any signs of abnormalities. The second part involves the speculum exam, where the healthcare provider inserts the speculum into the vagina using a cool water-based lubricant to see the vaginal canal and the cervix (Wong & Lawton, 2021).

After checking the vagina and cervix, a Pap test may be recommended to check any early changes of the cervix before they can become cancer. A Pap test involves taking a sample of mucus cells from the cervix using a thin plastic stick and a special tiny brush. The best way to protect against cervical cancer is to protect against human papilloma virus (HPV), which is a sexually transmitted infection that can cause cervical cancer. However, the patient still need regular Pap tests since the vaccine does not protect against all types of HPV that can cause cancer.

If the patient has vaginal discharge, the healthcare provider can take another sample to check for yeast and other causes of discharge. Besides, if the patient is having sex, another sample from the cervix or vagina and urine may be taken to check for possible STI’s. The last part of the pelvic exam is done to check for female organs such as tubes, ovaries, and uterus. The provider may insert one or two gloved fingers into the vagina with the other hand gently applying pressure to the lower part of the abdomen. Sometimes the provider may perform a rectal exam (Rao, 2018). Other screening tests for her include blood pressure screening, cholesterol screening, dental exam, and immunization.

Discuss the recommended education and counselling that should be included in Janice’s care

Sexually active young females are known to be at increased risk of sexually transmitted illnesses (STIs) and unwanted pregnancies. Educating and counselling patients of her age requires a sensitive and nonjudgmental approach to obtaining a sexual history, dealing with issues of confidentiality, usage of oral contraception, and anticipating what is involved if she has to share her STI status with her partner. When completing sexual history, the provider should consider asking open-ended questions revolving around the 5Ps (partners, practices, prevention of pregnancy, protection of STIs and past history of STIs) (Rubin et al., 2018). When obtaining a sexual history, the provider should encourage her about risk reduction interventions and provide prevention counselling to the identified risks. Besides, the provider should reinforce positive behaviors, including consistent use of oral contraceptives and healthy-seeking behaviors such as making and keeping appointments for healthcare (Rubin et al., 2018). The education and counselling should be appropriate for the patient’s culture, sexual orientation, age, and healthy literacy levels.

Research methods Hw

Follow the following instructions, please to develop my research data collection instrument:

Data Collection Instrument Instructions

  • · Based on your Research Question (s), Specific Aims, and Study Approach, you will design an instrument using the slides from Class 9, 3/29/18 lecture as a guide.
  • · You will each design a missed methods data collection instrument containing both quantitative and qualitative questions.
  • · You will decide whether you want your data collection instrument to be primarily quantitative or qualitative.
  • · For Quantitative studies, a survey or similar data collection instrument with a MINIMUM of 10 items (may have more) is required. You will also include 3-5 open-ended, qualitative questions at the end.
  • · For Qualitative studies a GENERAL (SEMI-STRUCTURED) INTERVIEW GUIDE of at least 10 questions is required. You will also include an quantitative introductory (3-5 question) set of questions at the beginning. For example, you might ask some demographic questions (age, gender, yes-no questions, how many times…. Etc.)
  • · For each question, you will briefly tell what research question, aim, or variable you are collecting.
  • · For primarily quantitative surveys, you will describe how you propose to establish validity (and what type(s) of validity) and reliability (types).
  • · For qualitative interview guides, you will describe the field notes you will collect in advance to inform the questions. You do not need to discuss validity/ reliability for the introductory quantitative questions preceding your interview guide.

– You can use the attached documents as a references to get a general idea about my research topic.

– Then, develop the data collection instrument based on that.

exercise 3

After watching The Blue Ocean Strategy (BOS) and The Blue Ocean Strategy (BOS) Example videos in Week 6b, submit an Excel file with:

  1. a table and its line chart comparing two real products on 5 value elements, and a third hypothetical product with 8 value elements. The third product will share the first 5 value elements, but should also have three value elements that the other ones do not have. This should be a product that is not in the market; therefore you should create it, and give it a brand name.
  2. a small paragraph on how/why the new product will conquer the blue ocean space. Base it on the value elements it has and how some differentiate from the competitors and how are totally new.

IMPORTANT:

  • To receive full points the new product must be in the blue ocean and not in the read ocean (this is very important). Red ocean is the area in the graph where other brands are and compete. The blue ocean is the space left.
  • Do not submit product categories/groups. For example, house cleaners, baby formula, etc.
  • Do not submit the examples presented in the videos.

Deliverable 1 – Professional Ethics and Liability Protections Deliverable 1 – Professional Ethics and Liability Protections

 Competency

Evaluate public health policies and practices as they relate to legal and ethical implications for individuals and populations.

Instructions

You have recently been promoted to Health Services Manager at Three Mountains Regional Hospital, a small hospital located in a mid-size city in the Midwest. Three Mountains is a general medical and surgical facility with 400 beds. Last year there were approximately 62,000 emergency visits and 15,000 admissions. More than 6,000 outpatient and 10,000 inpatient surgeries were performed.

On your first day in the position, the CEO requested that you design a short in-service training session for employees on the importance of professional ethics and liability protections.

You will need to develop an information sheet that explains the similarities and differences between laws and ethics, and the impact of unethical practices on healthcare. An information sheet provides brief and clear information on the required subject. Often, bullet points are utilized in an information sheet; however, since employees will be expected to know and understand the material thoroughly, your information sheet should be more detailed and offer supporting evidence, including a reference list.

  1. The information sheet should give your employees enough information to understand the differences and similarities between ethics and laws, the impact of unethical practices on healthcare, and the importance of professional ethics.
  2. Make sure to use audience-specific language and tone in your information sheet. Remember, you are writing this information sheet for your co-workers; however, the CEO and the Board of Directors may attend.
  3. Be creative, and make your information sheet fun, yet still clearly organized.

NOTE – APA formatting for the reference list, and proper grammar, punctuation, and form are required.

Advanced Nursing Clinical Research Paper.Patient Dealing With CHF/ Afib

The Patient with CHF/AFib

You are the primary care nurse practitioner in a busy family practice. The patient is a 72-year-old female with a CHA2DS2 VASc score of 6. She was recently hospitalized for CHF and was found to be in rapid AFib. She was diuresed while inpatient and placed on Lasix (furosemide) 20 mg once a day, Coumadin 5 mg once a day, and https://blog.keenessays.com/2021/06/17/in-this-assignment-you-will-explore-the-concept-of-moral-values-moral-motivation-and-what-impact-they-have-on-ethical-behavior/ Toprol XL (metoprolol extended release) 50 mg once a day in addition to her Metformin (glucophage) 500 mg once a day, Zestril (lisinopril) 2.5 mg once a day, and Women’s Multivitamin once a day. She is in your office today, five days after discharge. Her last INR was two days ago, and it was 2.7. Her PT and PTT were in range. Her weight is 153 pounds.

She reports to you that she no longer drives and has difficulty obtaining rides to get to the lab. She wants to know if you could change her to one of the novel anticoagulants that her friend is on.

How do you respond?

Please provide patient education about the new medication and any side effects of which she should be aware.

Important Instruction about the Assignment

1. The paper should always have an introduction statement that explains what the paper will entails.

3. For this paper, you must provide 5-7 pages https://excellentwriter.xyz/education-homework-help/in-this-assignment-you-will-outline-how-investigative-procedures-support-the-use-of-evidence-in-court-proceedings-and-the-trial-preparation-for-criminal-prosecution/ well written evidence-based research paper according to the rubric guidelines, follow the APA format formatting for references and support your paper with at least 5 nursing or medical evidence-based research articles not older than 7 yrs.

This is an advanced degree work that requires a very strong writer with the background and experience in Nursing and Medical field and a very well-developed English and written expertise.

Discussion: Prejudice

People often use jokes to test the boundaries of what is considered offensive. Under the guise of humor, the joke teller can attempt to minimize any offense taken by defending the humor as “just a joke.”

Clearly, an attempt to belittle or demean others as a form of humor is distasteful. And in every culture, one can encounter humor that, to be understood, relies on prejudice—whether that prejudice be about race, sexual orientation, gender, ethnicity, or nationality. What others might find funny, some find tasteless and indefensible. Simply because an offensive statement is clothed as a joke does not make the joke funny nor does it mean that the joke teller cannot be confronted by someone who finds the comment offensive or inappropriate. Even so, confronting someone about an inappropriate joke can present a social risk; the person being called out is likely to feel defensive and retaliate against whomever exposed them.

For this Discussion, you will draw on your own experience and social psychology theory to examine responses to prejudiced comments.

To Prepare

  • Review the Learning Resources for this week and think about how social psychology theory and research explains the responses that people have when they hear prejudiced comments.
  • Recall a time when you have been present when someone made a racist comment or “joke,” and no one confronted the joke teller.

Post a time when you have been present when someone made a prejudiced “joke” or comment, and no one confronted the joke teller. Were you offended by the joke? How can a decision to stay mute be explained by social psychology theory?
