Class presentation will be worth 250 points maximum, and it is a SALES presentation, not an academic presentation. It is graded upon:

Power Point Visual Presentation – (appeal, appropriateness for sales, creativity and novelty of presentation; does it adequately represent your idea in a positive way? Is it free of spelling and grammatical errors?) – 100 points

Verbal Presentation – (professionalism, appropriateness for sales, unique or engaging styles, staying within allotted time, not focusing your gaze on the screen? Are you dressed appropriately for the presentation – this may be in dress clothes or clothes befitting the event being proposed?) – 100 points

Overall Presentation Design and Stage Setting – (is the presentation in keeping with the theme or goals for the event? Do visual and verbal complement each other, not repeat each other? Is the message compelling to advance the possibility of obtaining an event contract? If props are used, do they enhance the presentation and have a purpose?) – 50 points

Economics Individual Study Project

Overview

This assignment is intended to asses your knowledge, application and analytical skills in recommending economic actions currently faced by the economies around the world.

We have discussed different macroeconomic objectives in class and how government takes policies to achieve those objectives.

Think like an Economist!

In this project you are going to explore the real macroeconomic world. You will work with a selected country and research on it’s macroeconomic policies. You will describe and evaluate and most importantly recommend macroeconomic policies. Welcome to the world of Economists!!!

What to do?

* Choose ANY ONE country that you think may have interesting economic stories to reveal. I would suggest to focus on developing countries.

Assignment:

The assignment is divided into two sections:

* Presentation – 15%

* Interview – 5%

Presentation Layout:

* You will make a 8 minutes presentation on the topic that you have selected.

* The materials should be equally presented by each of the members.

* Your presentation should have the following contents:

o A brief introduction to the country you have chosen for the project

o Major macroeconomic data (GDP, GNP, Economic growth rate, unemployment rate, inflation rate, Balance of payment etc.)

o Major macroeconomic issues faced by the country (e.g; recession, BOP deficit, inflation or higher unemployment etc.)

o Description of major macroeconomic policies taken by the government

o Your own evaluation on those policies

Disaster relief planners recommend that you be prepared to provide for yourself for at least thefirst 72 hours after a disaster strikes. Most people are not adequately prepared for a major natural disaster. This assignment has 2 purposes: 1)to motivate you with course credit to think about and (we hope) perform disaster planning that might someday benefit you in an emergency, and 2) to understand better the impact that a natural disaster has upon its victims. This assignment includes GE writing credit. Both the draft and the revision are turned in via Canvas in the ‘Assignments’ section (not in the ‘Resources’ section).

Create an 8-10 slide PowerPoint or Prezi presentation for special education teachers, demonstrating at least three types of high-tech and three types of low-tech technology that can be used to enhance math instruction for individuals with exceptionalities. Technology pieces should correspond to the Arizona College and Career Ready Standard or other state standard Geometry domain, for a variety of age groups, and can include apps, videos, websites, etc. Include a title slide, reference slide, and presenter’s notes.

The presentation should include the following:

• A detailed description of each technology piece;
• An explanation of how each technology piece is aligned to standards with specific examples; and
• An explanation of how each technology piece supports instructional assessment, planning, and delivery for individuals with exceptionalities.

Support your presentation with 3-5 scholarly resources.

While APA format is not required for the body of this assignment, sold academic writing is expected, and in-text citations and references should be presented using APA documentation guidelines, which can be found in the APA Style Guide, located in the Student Success Center.

This assignment uses a rubric. Review the rubric prior to beginning the assignment to become familiar with the expectations for successful completion.
