It is now time to consider developing your own HR department team to ensure they have the requisite skills and competencies necessary to perform at high levels over time. Effective and motivated HR business partners (HRBP) will be the key to translating HR and business strategy into action. The Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) Body of Competency and Knowledge (BoCK) can be an invaluable resource to help develop and certify HR professionals. You must now explain to the management team the components of this model and how it can be leveraged to achieve operational success for the HR department. A one-hour meeting has been scheduled, and the CEO will be in attendance.

NOTE: It is highly recommended to use the instructions below rather than those in the course guide.

Create a 20-slide minimum PowerPoint presentation in which you do the following:

1. Include cover, presentation agenda, conclusion, and reference list slides, all of which may count toward total slide count.
2. Provide a slide with an overview on the importance of having a highly-developed staff of HR business partners. Be clear with your position. Example: The Evolution of the HR Business Partner Role.  The HR Business Partner: A Full Guide – AIHR
3. Provide 1–4 slides introducing the SHRM BoCK model and its components. Be sure to highlight each of the areas of the model. Note: It is highly recommended to insert an image of the actual SHRM BoCK model into the presentation.
4. Include in the remaining slides the following required presentation information:
   • Provide a minimum of three to four bullet points (more if needed) of information or discussion describing the specifics on the SHRM BoCK’s “Behavioral Competencies.”
   • Provide a minimum of three to four bullet points (more if needed) of information or discussion describing the specifics on the SHRM BoCK’s “HR Expertise: Domains 1.”
   • Provide a minimum of three to four bullet points (more if needed) of information or discussion describing the specifics on the SHRM BoCK’s “HR Expertise: Domains 2”
   • Provide a minimum of three to four bullet points (more if needed) of information or discussion describing the specifics on the SHRM BoCK’s “HR Expertise: Domains 3”
   • Provide a minimum of three to four bullet points (more if needed) of information or discussion describing specifics on certifying your HRBPs.

Note 1: You may use your own judgment in determining the most adequate input for your bullet points if the input is relevant.Note 2: DO NOT USE presentation notes for the assignment. 1. Use at least four quality academic resources in this assignment. Note:  To prevent using non-quality sources it is HIGHLY recommended to use the sources listed in the course resources section or Strayer library. Use of the textbook is required. Use of any non-academic or other websites not deemed professional or qualitative will definitely result in deducted points.
2. Your assignment must follow these formatting requirements:
   • Have headings for each section with all bulleted information aligned properly (and neatly) and using the same font and size. Text font and size must be consistent throughout presentation.
   • Use either Arial, Times New  Roman, or Calibri as text type. Use 24-28 font size for main headings, 18-20 size for sub-headings, and 18-20 for all regular information.
   • Images may be used but must be business professional and relevant to the topic. The source or sources of all images must be credited with both citation and reference. Check with your professor for any additional instructions.
   • Include citations and references for all information received from other sources.
   • All bullet point information must be descriptive and have a minimum of 3–4 full sentences.

This course requires the use of APA or Strayer Writing Standards (SWS) at the discretion of the student. Check with your professor for any additional instructions. The specific course outcome associated with this assignment is:

• Convince stakeholders of the value of using the SHRM BoCK model to develop effective and motivated HR business partners.

In a PowerPoint Presentation, address the following.

1. Title Slide
2. Introduction (1 slide): Slide should identify concepts to be addressed and sections of the presentation. Include speaker’s notes that explain, in more detail, what will be covered.
3. Practice Issue (1-3 slides): Describe the area of interest and practice issue/problem related to NP practice selected in week 2. Explain why the issue/concern is important to nurse practitioner practice and its impact on health outcomes. Provide speaker notes. Provide scholarly references to support your ideas.
4. PICOT Question (1 slide): Provide the PICOT question developed in week 2. Describe each element of your PICOT question in one or two sentences, being sure to address all the following:
   1. P-Population and problem – What is the nursing practice concern or problem and whom does it affect?
   2. I–Intervention – What evidence-based solution for the problem would you like to apply?
   3. C–Comparison – What is another solution for the problem? Note that this is typically the current practice, no intervention at all, or alternative solutions.
   4. O–Outcome – Very specifically, how will you know that the intervention worked? Think about how you will measure the outcome.
   5. T–Time frame – What is the Timeframe involved for the EBP initiative or the target date of completion?
5. Literature review (2-4 slides):Summarize the literature review completed in week 5. Discuss themes and special concerns. Discuss any unique insight or perspective offered from the literature. Provide speaker notes. Speaker notes and/or slides include citations from scholarly nursing literature which support the assertions presented.
6. Recommendations (3 slides):
   1. Slide 1: Identify the evidence-based recommendation for the identified practice change. Speaker’s notes should fully explain the recommended change and rationale for the change. Provide support from scholarly references to support the recommendation.
   2. Slide 2: Identify the key stakeholders impacted by the recommended change. Speaker’s notes add detail.
   3. Slide 3: Analyze the recommendation in terms of fit, feasibility, and appropriateness as discussed by Dang and Dearholt (2018), ch. 8. Speaker’s notes add detail. *Note: information regarding stakeholders, fit, feasibility, and appropriateness may be based on personal experience or on information you found in your research. If the identified factors come from the literature, provide reference citations to support your ideas.
7. Conclusion: (1 slide)Slide provides summary points of presentation. Speaker’s notes provide final comments on the topic.
8. References:Reference elements provided in APA format, may use bullets. Hanging indents not required.

Preparing the Presentation

Submission Requirements

1. Application: Use Microsoft Power Point to create the presentation. Submit as a .ppt or .pptx file.
2. Length: The PowerPoint presentation should be between 9-13 total slides (excluding title and reference slides).
3. Speaker notes should be used and include in-text citations when applicable. Use the Notes Page view feature in PowerPoint to include speaker notes.

TO PREPARE

• Review and download the Literature Review Matrix found in the Resources.
• Research the Walden Library to review at least four peer-reviewed articles on evidence-based practice applied in clinical decision support (CDS). The Walden Library recommends the following:
  • Select the Nursing Research databases in the Walden Library.
  • Search “decision support” in Box 1, and add a diagnosis, condition, population, system, etc., in Box 2. It helps to keep concepts separate.
  • Limit the search results to Peer Reviewed Scholarly Journals only—in the left column of the results screen. Consider limiting results by publication date.
  • For more information about specific theories and models, search SAGE Knowledge for specialized encyclopedias.
    The textbook is an excellent source of examples.
• For each article you find, fill in the columns of the Literature Review Matrix.
• Review the resources.
• Consider the models and theories used in your selected articles.
• Reflect on which of the evidence-based practices you would recommend for quality improvement in your workplace.

THE ASSIGNMENT

Part 1: Literature Review Matrix

Submit your completed Literature Review Matrix that contains the four research articles you researched and reviewed.

Part 2: Clinical Decision Support (CDS) Recommendation

Develop a 10- to 12-slide PowerPoint presentation in which you present your research and data to support your clinical decision support (CDS) recommendation for quality improvement.

Based on your research, address the following in your presentation:

• Synthesize your findings from your four articles, focusing on applicable models and/or theories relevant to CDS, quality improvement in your workplace, and on applicable evidence-based practice in nursing.
• Recommend CDS or information to consider in clinical decision making and explain your rationale for the recommendation. Be specific.
• Justify your recommendation. Be specific and provide examples.
• Recommend how you would address possible limitations or challenges, including:
  • Explain how you would avoid alert fatigue.
  • Explain under what conditions you would allow an override to an alert.
  • Explain how you would monitor compliance.
  • Identify factors that might contribute to continuous overrides.
  • Justify conditions under which an override may be necessary.
• Provide references in APA style at the end of your presentation—the reference slide or slides do not count toward your assignment total.
