EAR 28: “Five Selves” PowerPoint Video Presentation

For the past few lessons, I have lectured on the concept of the whole child and how we as teachers need to consider the whole child when developing curriculum. The whole child refers to and addresses all areas or domains of the child. These five selves are interwoven and each affects the child’s development.

This is not a written paper but rather a creative endeavor that expresses your understanding of the five selves. This must be an original project that is your own work. ABC Bank officials view compliance with regulations as a necessity for the very survival of their business. The leadership team at ABC also understands the impact that banks have on the aggregate economy, particularly the ramifications of mismanaged risks within banks. ABC’s leadership team believes that a holistic understanding of the intricacies of risk management within banks as well as the impact of risk on the economy is necessary to drive the desired behavior. As a result, you have been hired to facilitate a presentation for ABC’s new hires. Your presentation should be composed in PowerPoint or Prezi and must be submitted to ABC’s HR department for approval by the end of the week. Along with the slides, you must also submit notes on what you will say during the presentation. You should use the Note feature at the bottom of the PowerPoint slide to submit the notes.

Your presentation and notes should include the following:

    • Identify three ways that banks impact the economy. Include clear examples and well-defined reasons.
    • Identify two regulations and describe their origin and role in managing risks within banks.
    • What risk management standards did the banks employ as a result of the regulations?
    • What are the consequences of failing to meet the standards outlined by the regulators?

Create a PowerPoint presentation No more than 10 slides addressing each area of the windshield study.

Using a variety of instruments (Windshield Survey, Community Assessment Tool, Screening interviews, etc.) while in your community, you will assess the community location. This will lead to a list of identified, prioritized health needs and your recommendations for intervention.

You will complete a windshield survey of your community. The objective of a windshield survey is to assess a community in a short, simple way, compiling data to help form an analysis of that community. Simply put, a windshield survey is the equivalent of a community head-to-toe assessment. There are 6 elements that should be included in your windshield survey.

You will drive through your community and document your findings on a PowerPoint presentation. Take pictures of your community to enhance your PowerPoint presentation.

  1. After studying Module 3: Lecture Materials & Resources, familiarize yourself with the instruments for:
    • A Windshield Survey (Website Resource 15C, p. 425).
    • The Community Assessment Tool applied to Phenomenological Communities (Website Resource 15A, p. 425).
    • You may also wish to review Chapter 13, Box 13-1 (p. 343) for examples of assessments that may be appropriate for your community population, since the Community Assessment Tool includes some screening data and information from clients.
  2. Plan how you will obtain the information for the assessments.
    • Conduct a Windshield Survey assessment.
    • Drive around your community and take pictures.
    • Create a PowerPoint presentation No more than 10 slides addressing each area of the windshield study.

Create a 10- to 12-slide Microsoft® PowerPoint® presentation that discusses Medicare, Medicaid, and TRICARE.

Assignment Content

  1. Create a 10- to 12-slide Microsoft® PowerPoint® presentation that discusses Medicare, Medicaid, and TRICARE.Include detailed speaker notes to explain the following topics in your presentation:
    • Eligibility requirements
    • Coverage provisions
    • Participating and non-participating provider charges
    • Use a minimum of 1 reference. You may use your textbook as a reference.

Your 11- to 12-slide PowerPoint presentation should follow these guidelines:

The problem-solving model was first laid out by Helen Perlman. Her seminal 1957 book, Social Casework: A Problem-Solving Process, described the problem-solving model and the 4Ps. Since then, other scholars and practitioners have expanded the problem-solving model and problem-solving therapy. At the heart of problem-solving model and problem-solving therapy is helping clients identify the problem and the goal, generating options, evaluating the options, and then implementing the plan.

Because models are blueprints and are not necessarily theories, it is common to use a model and then identify a theory to drive the conceptualization of the client’s problem, assessment, and interventions. Take, for example, the article by Westefeld and Heckman-Stone (2003). Note how the authors use a problem-solving model as the blueprint in identifying the steps when working with clients who have experienced sexual assault. On top of the problem-solving model, the authors employed crisis theory, as this theory applies to the trauma of going through sexual assault. Observe how, starting on page 229, the authors incorporated crisis theory to their problem-solving model.

In this Final Case Assignment, using the same case study that you chose in Week 2, you will use the problem-solving model AND a theory from the host of different theoretical orientations you have used for the case study.

You will prepare a PowerPoint presentation consisting of 11 to 12 slides, and you will use the Personal Capture function of Kaltura to record both audio and video of yourself presenting your PowerPoint presentation.

To prepare:

  • Review and focus on the case study that you chose in Week 2.
  • Review the problem-solving model, focusing on the five steps of the problem-solving model formulated by D’Zurilla on page 388 in the textbook.
  • In addition, review this article listed in the Learning Resources: Westefeld, J. S., & Heckman-Stone, C. (2003). The integrated problem-solving model of crisis intervention: Overview and application. The Counseling Psychologist, 31(2), 221–239. https://doi-org.ezp.waldenulibrary.org/10.1177/0011000002250638

By Day 7

PowerPoint presentation that addresses the following:

  • Identify the theoretical orientation you have selected to use.
  • Describe how you would assess the problem orientation of the client in your selected case study (i.e., how the client perceives the problem). Remember to keep the theoretical orientation in mind in this assessment stage.
  • Discuss the problem definition and formulation based on the theoretical orientation you have selected.
  • Identify and describe two solutions from all the solutions possible. Remember, some of these solutions should stem from the theoretical orientation you are utilizing.
  • Describe how you would implement the solution. Remember to keep the theoretical orientation in mind.
  • Describe the extent to which the client is able to mobilize the solutions for change.
  • Discuss how you would evaluate whether the outcome is achieved or not. Remember to keep the theoretical orientation in mind.
  • Evaluate how well the problem-solving model can be used for short-term treatment of this client.
  • Evaluate one merit and one limitation of using the problem-solving model for this case.

Your 11- to 12-slide PowerPoint presentation should follow these guidelines:

  • Each slide should be written using bullet points, meaning no long paragraphs of written text should be in the slides.
  • Include a brief narration for each slide (i.e., the narration takes the place of any written paragraphs, while the bullet points provide context and cues for the audience to follow along).
  • Record both audio and video for presentation.

Be sure to:

  • Identify and correctly reference the case study you have chosen.
  • Use literature to support your claims.
  • Use APA formatting and style.
  • Include the reference list on the last slide.
  • Speak clearly.
  • Dress professionally.

Prepare a PowerPoint presentation (15-20 slides) designed for parents of a child currently in this stage of development.

In this course you are learning about cognitive development during four stages of life: infancy, early childhood, middle childhood, and adolescence.

For your final project you will begin by selecting one of these phases of development.  Conduct your own research (using at least 4 sources) on cognitive development that occurs during this stage.  Then you are to prepare a PowerPoint presentation (15-20 slides) designed for parents of a child currently in this stage of development.

Begin your presentation by educating the parents on the development of basic cognitive processes, such as perception, attention, and memory during this phase.  In the second part of your presentation you should provide recommendations on how to enhance cognitive development during this stage.  Your recommendations should be specific and supported by your research.  You are also encouraged to use images and graphs to illustrate your information and suggestions.
