Effective Advocacy For your Final Project, you will integrate the knowledge that you have gained on a chosen topic from this course with effective advocacy for children. In a 10- to 15-slide PowerPoint presentation (not including separate title and reference slides), develop a policy proposal for implementing the changes that you seek. Remember that a presentation is different from a paper, so it shouldn’t include too many words on a single slide. Use the notes section at the bottom of the slide to elaborate on the key points of your slide. Please include the following in your presentation:  Clearly describe your chosen topic, how it currently exists, and at least two changes you hope to implement. Parts of this description should come from the rationale from the outline you created last week. Use examples to illustrate your topic and support your description with at least one scholarly source, in addition to your text. Possible topics include, but are not limited to, assessment, teacher preparation and professionalism, inclusion, diversity, curriculum development, and family engagement. Clearly state your thesis statement that should flow from your rationale. Summarize each of the three arenas for child advocacy: public, private, and personal. Provide examples to illustrate each arena, and support your summary with at least one scholarly source in addition to the course text. Using the “Strategies for Advocacy” listed in Chapter Eighteen of your text, develop a specific plan to implement your changes. Bach – Toccata and Fugue in D minor One of the most famous chants is Dies Irae. It was composed in the 13th century. It is a typical example of a Gregorian Chant. It is religious, as was almost all music of the time. It features monks chanting religious text. Vivaldi’s “Four Seasons” is by far his most famous work. Out of that work came “Spring”, which is perhaps one of the most recognizable melodies ever written. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TKthRw4KjEg Handel’s “Messiah” is a longer composition than most people know. The Hallelujah chorus is what most people remember or know from the entire piece. It is a religious piece that is composed in typical Baroque fashion. There isn’t a child who loves Halloween that is not familiar with this melody. It is dark, almost sinister. This is a great example of the type of organist that Bach was. This also shows the use of counterpoint within a Baroque composition. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F4JQZb83oCc Supplemental Resources: Below are a few pieces of supplemental reading material that illustrate the connections between the Middle Age, Renaissance, and Baroque periods.
